First Impression: Thick, sweet, dripping honey. How do I love this? I can't being to count the ways. Second Impression: I don't get much fruitiness or floral, just barely. Final Analysis: This is the smell that makes me adore O. I want to bathe in this. Delectable, delicious, divine.

First Impression: There it is, that same sexy juiciness that I love about Blood Lotus. Second Impression: It's so sexy I can't stop smelling it. It's truly addictive. Final Analysis: I love all the notes in this and they work so beautifully together. I don't this is as sexual as O, but it is very sexy. Classy sexy, not slutty sexy.

First Impression: Torrid sums it up perfectly. Whoa a strong whiff out of the bottle. It came to me. Second Impression: The almond and cinnamon notes in this are truly delectable. The neroli keeps it from being foody. Final Analysis: Feelin' hot-hot-hot. The almonds go away too fast. I adore this cinnamon note. Really nice, saucy.

First Impression: Dead on with the description. Second Impression: This reminds me of the end of the rose growing season when there are just thorny stems left and dried petals and leaves decaying into the once-rich soil. It really does evoke sadness. Final Analysis: I really like this one, even with the sad twinges. It's earthy yet very pretty.

La Belle Dame Sans Merci
Ina Garten Davita replied to Belladonnastrap's topic in Discontinued Scents
First Impression: Like jj-j said, a green, sharp edged floral. It smells watery with just a touch of lily of the valley in the background. Second Impression: This lady is cold and crisp, nothing warm here. Final Analysis: I thought that this would turn soapy, but I'm happy I didn't. A lovely scent, nicely potent but not over powering. Not a favorite, but I will enjoy the imp that I have. -
I've got the dates and times mapped out on my desk calendar as of now. This has officially passed obssession, straight to, as Beth put it, LUNACY!!!

Must have shattered. I adore champagne and I got excited to see that word in the description. I got married on New Years Eve so it's a thing...champagne, Old Lang Syne as the ring on my mobile... -
Absolutely brilliant idea. Turning BPAL into a contact sport. Leave 'em wanting more!

Autumn Scents - recommend the ones you love
Ina Garten Davita replied to any_old_actress's topic in Recommendations
Tarot The World, perhaps. I love it so much for year round use, but if I had to put a season to it, autumn would be it. Also Damnation, it reminds me of the burning leaves on a cold day smell. -
First Impression: Sharp and herbaly. A tad on the soapy side. Second Impression: The violet is sharp with the woods egging it on. No ylang ylang here. Final Analysis: Veil is nice, pretty even, but does not suit my personality. The lovely lady above is quite right. Morella is light years better! Edited to add: It vanished so quickly. The scent didn't even last 30 minutes.

First Impression: A little sweet, a little spicy. Second Impression: This is wonderful. This speaks "summertime" to me. I envision applying this in the dead of winter and it would warm and uplift me. It's blended perfectly. The patchouli note is wonderful, it's not that dirty hippy feet smell. It's a very sophisticated patchouli, like the hippie that grew up and became a lawyer or something. Final Analysis: Another glorious scent to add to my faves list. I agree wth waxing moon about the similarity to the Bain de Soleil gelee. It doesn't really smell like, but it's has the same "feeling and warmth and tropical-ness".

That is awesome. I just imported into my already compulsively maintianed comprehensive spreadsheet. I've truly lost it!

Bea Arthur naked! -
First Impression: Sweet and fruity but dark and sinister at the same time. Second Impression: Crushed black rose petals floating in a sea of red wine. I love this, I'm slathered with it (thanks cegirls!) and can't get enough. Final Analysis: This evokes visions of a Roman bath house at night. Torches light the darkness. There are Romans bathing in water covered with rose petals, their skin glistening in the firelight. The others are in togas feeding wine and overripe fruit to each other. It's hedonistic, sensual pleasure with each sniff of Lilith.

Similarities Between BPAL Scents - GC and general discussion
Ina Garten Davita replied to Shollin's topic in Recommendations
I love Jezebel. It's sweet honey with lots of warmth to it. It reminds me of thicker version of O. Positively delish! -
Yes, Sistinas...we can be in the support group together. I placed an order two weeks ago and again today. And even more scents next week...dear me, I need to get a job or my husband is going to take away my shopping priveleges!

I just placed a sizeable order with Paypal, but I checked CCNow to get my totals first. I noticed a glitch in the CCNow ordering. I wonder if anyone else did. The sample packs of 6 imps are still coming up at $18 and now there isn't any place to type in the names of the scents selected.

First Impression: Roses, gorgeous roses, sweet, sweet roses. Second Impression: A very sweet floral, the apple blossom and ylang ylang are a sugar coating on the roses. Final Analysis: This is pretty and perfect for perking up this rainy holiday. The honey is very thick and sweet but only after the dry down.

I don't know if anyone noticed that the description of Desire on Beth's post differs from the description on the website. Shiny and New: Desire -- The ache of passion, the suffering of inexpressible, inconsolable longing. Golden amber with dark musk, red sandalwood, ylang ylang, olibanum and orange blossom. Beth's Update: DESIRE The overwhelming agony of passion crystallized into a singularly dark and magnetic blend: bittersweet neroli, black patchouli and black musk, gilded by apple, bergamot, blood red rose, teak, and vanilla.
-
First Impression: MMMMM, sweet and insencey, all golden and red. Second Impression: The cloves are the most prominent but the blend is so well done, it's very harmonious. Final Analysis: This is dark and mysterious, sweet and alluring. Another keeper. The lime really shows itself the longer it dries and it becomes even sweeter.

I hear you, Twisty. Queen of Sheba is on the top of my wish list spread sheet with big red letters "Order Large Bottle". I'm moist with anticipation.

Thanks Beth. Good luck with the update.
