Marshmallow Pumpkin
RhinestoneHousewife replied to mineralgirl's topic in Black Phoenix Trading Post
I've tried so many of the pumpkin scents and none of them have worked for me. I'm so happy this one does! At first it's spice, all spice and nothing but spice. As it dries down the marshmallow and pumpkin come in and soften the scent into something warm and beautiful. I bought a bottle. -
I do love both sassafras and root beer so this is all win for me. It's more dry than creamy, very pretty! I'll be interested so see how this layers with some other stuff. I bought a bottle.

I really love this. I can smell the chocolate but it's more like baking chocolate not sweet milk chocolate. It's also spicy and the way it smells reminds me of a dessert I ordered at Tango called, El Diablo. It's described as "Bittersweet cube of sinfully rich dark chocolate graced with cayenne, spicy almonds, cocoa nibs and burnt meringue finished with a tequila caramel sauce". I bought a bottle.

I love this so much! In bottle: Black licorice...yay! The label is adorable....one of my favorites. Wet on skin: Black licorice and something that makes it smell like the bridge mix candy licorice nonpareils and neopolitans. It's my favorite candy. Dry on skin: Now the cacoa is coming out a little bit...soft and velvety. Verdict: I smelled this prototype at the August will call and promptly ordered a bottle and boy am I glad I did! I love this more than Pink Mood which I didn't think was possible. I'm sorely tempted to purchase a back up.

It smells very familiar to me....some sort of Avon lotion my mom used to use? Soft, airy and aquatic with some staying power but not much throw. Not really for me, unfortunately.

This did smell a bit medicinal in the bottle...then I figured out what it was. It smelled like film! Like the old school rolls of film. I kinda dug it. So I put in on my male photographer friend and in about 15 minutes it smells manly and delicious on him. I don't remember any specific notes, just that it smelled good.

Anise, Aniseed, Licorice, Liquorice, Fennel, Ouzo?

I found Pink Mood to be very licorice-y. And the Halloween prototype Licorice Bats would be right up your alley if it doesn't change too much. I hope to get my hands on some! -
I wanted to love this, but all I get is plastic doll arm and craft store smell. Boo.

In the bottle: Fruity and boozy. Wet on skin: Very sweet and maybe some juniper/gin? Dry on skin: Kinda peachy in a fake peach syrup kind of way and just a bit plastic-y. Verdict: Meh, not for me.
-
In the bottle: Vetiver! Wet on skin: Dry, dusty coconut, incense and vetiver. Dry on skin: Oh my, this has dried down into a beautiful, sexy scent. I can now smell the Snake Oil and the rest of the elements have melded into a beautiful, dark and sexy thing. Applied lightly it might be a summer/spring time scent but definitely good for fall and wintery days. I can't wait to slather it! Verdict: Bottle worthy for sure.

In bottle: Apples! I love apples! Wet on skin: Apple and green floral? Dry on skin: Hmmmmm. Something between the apple, white florals and SO have turned it into a moth ball-y smell. It smelled good until I put it on my skin.

This smells like Snake Oil Lite on me as well. Snake Oil Lite and dryer sheets. Warm and fresh but it doesn't do a lot for me. I think I'm going to let it age a bit and try it again.

I love this. It's my favorite of the entire collection. In the bottle: Spicy and incense-y with some green. Wet on skin: Clove goodness with some patchouli in there for good fun. Dry on skin: I love this. It's spicy and soft and delicious. Verdict: Bottle worthy.
-
In bottle: Green and floral! Wet on skin: Very soft and floral...pretty. Dry on skin: Pretty much the same. I have a hard time distinguishing the different florals but it's definitely a girly scent. Verdict: Lovely, but not for me.
-
In the bottle: very cologne like. Wet on skin: Super fruity and sweet. Dry on skin: This smells like it's got a wine don't which does not work for me at all. Verdict: Not for me unfortunately. I'm sure this will smell lovely on some lucky person but it just doesn't work for me.
-
In the bottle: Slightly spicy and medicinal. Wet on skin: Spicy with a powdery sweetness from the amber. I can smell the opoponax and I like it. Dry on skin: It's settled down a bit but still has good throw. It's sweetened up and the spicy is wearing off a bit. Verdict: I like it but I think the imp will be fine for me.
-
In the bottle: Green and woodsy with a slight effervescence. Wet on skin: It smells like wood and roses? I don't see rose in the description but that's what it smells like on me. Maybe the combination of the other notes make it smell like that? Dry on skin: It kind of reminds me of a more masculine version of Knave Of Hears with more rose and less current and foodie smell. Verdict: It's intriguing for sure but not really for me. Rose is hard for me to wear, but I bet this will be beautiful on some people!

In bottle: Greenish, chilly floral. Wet on skin: Minty and green with some sort of white floral? Dry on skin: This has settled into a yummy vanilla minty gum with some green floral. I love it.

I have two versions, '07 and '08. The '07 version: In bottle: Something floral, and sharp. I'm *almost* getting an apple vibe from it? Wet on skin: Floral and chilly and sharp almost metallic. Dry on skin: This softens into something totally extraordinary on me. I love it. Now I can smell a bit of vanilla? No apple at all anymore. Chilly white florals, vanilla and 100% delicious. The '08 version: In bottle: Softer than the '07. Vanilla? Wet on skin: Again softer and I can definitely smell some vanilla. Dry on skin: It's like '07's little sister. I Snow White ages really well and the '08 will grow up to be just as beautiful as her older sister.

General citrus recommendations - and discussion of all things orange
RhinestoneHousewife replied to UltraViolet's topic in Recommendations
Ooooh, I love that....orange is my favorite color! I second the recommendations for Schrodinger's Cat and Jailbait and would like to add Cheshire Cat as well. Cheshire Cat maybe me more grapefruit-y than orange-y but I still get a very orange/citrus vibe from it. -
In Bottle: Fruity and boozy. Wet On Skin: Fruit Stripe gum and champagne! Dry On Skin: Super flowery and summery and fruity in the most delicious way possible. I love it!

Apples?? Finding the right apple scent
RhinestoneHousewife replied to clover's topic in Recommendations
Maybe layer an apple scent with a rose scent? -
I love this. In bottle: Spicy! Wet on skin: Spicy and with a bit of rose maybe? It's floral but not an overpoweringly floral. Dry on skin: Lots of spices now. I can definitely smell the red musk and the rose has backed off a bit. Throw was good at first but it's settled down and is pretty wearable.

Poisoned Apple is awesome! -
I was really excited to try this! Unfortunately I couldn't smell anything, in the vial, wet or dry on my skin. Nothing. I guess it off to swaps!
