Hmmm - this is the leather scent I've been looking for. As close as it comes to a 'feminine' leather. The sage and leather work together for me perfectly, and create something I consider a signature fragrance - I just tried it on today and am wanting a bottle immediately. It exudes a leathery strength without being overpowering like Red Rider or Traveler. This is kind of what I wanted Coyote to be, but Coyote turned to a floral mess. I've been continuously sniffing my wrist all day, and never tire of it - it also reminds me of the fresh outdoors when Im camping, it has the freshness to it, I smell skin-warmed leather, the sage grass, and a touch of the wild.

What a kick-ass thread! Ok, 1st my recommendations for others - and Im not scent aficionado! So if it seems weird, it may be!: khazakantI believe I want to send you two scents that you would love: Bluebeard and Blood Kiss, complex, wit some masculine flair, but definitely unisex in my book. I'd also suggest seeing what you think of Sara Pezzini (witchblade) another complex, gritty sweet scent. Check out The Traveler too - a unique, rustic leather. Maybe Mary Read. Meirion I dont know why, but Anne Bonny and Robin Goodfellow seem like something you need to try. Also the Lion and Elegba. Bonny Have you tried Little Bird? - its light and sweet, and quiet megheartsshoes you need something full-bodied, spicy and rich! I suggest Clemence, Tintagel, Blood Kiss, and Sed non Satiata occursboozey notes or a scent as strong as you that will be subtle cause you dont want something representing you - try Banned in Boston, oblivion, Jazz Funeral, Port au Prince Okay - so about me: lots about me is a paradox -its not easy figuring out what I should write! Aries sun, Capricorn Moon, Venus/Merc in Pisces, Sag rising, Virgo pluto/midheaven Whew - what the hell did I just write?? Anybody? This whole BPAL thing has been confusing as heck for me.

The first autumn rains dripping onto fallen leaves against a backdrop of opoponax, labdanum, patchouli, agarwood, and oakmoss. This is for me one of the finest scents I have tried. Its immediately fallen leaves, the dry crumbly ones, you can smell the tannins, but its also sweet, woody, and has a touch of tobacco, incense and smoke in it. The blend is serene and perfect - usually tobacco scents become ridiculous on me - but this is gentle, sweet, soothing, caressing, and I dont want to stop smelling my arm!!!

Okay - this is lovely, but strange! On first applying it, the milky scent comes out, but a lot of sourness too that seems very lemony! On dry-down, its a sour fruity scent, must be the berries, and a light greenish,cooling floral in the background. What is strange is the scent I get whiffs of is completely different from the scent when I stick my nose to it!

In the imp, it could have been love - but on my skin the black musk turns to powder immediately with no change after several hours.

Sara Pezzini - played by Yancy Butler from the TV series - is one of my all-time heroes and role models - that may seem hokey, but I dont care. I was shocked and thrilled when BPAL announced they were making these (ALTHO I firmly believe they MUST make a Nottingham, and I have the scent notes for them too!) Sara is harsh, rich, musky, sweaty, leathery, and sweet, just like the character. She is honey, but with that tangy scent of LOTS of sweat that's soaked whatever is being worn. It's what I think of as a man-ish femininity, and suits me perfectly - its also a scent I forced myself to love - and it ended up growing on me. Much like her prickly character, first impressions make you think its too harsh, too strong. However, after resting, and after more exposure and hanging out together, it becomes like a second skin to me. Thanks to the makers for this one. One of the best interpretations I could have imagined.

A long-shot, I figured with these strange notes blended together... Wet, its sinus clearing...it made me smile right off the bat, The mint was a sweet breath mint, with an overpowering ozone-y freshness. I thought that was vetiver in the background, holding this down, and I loved it! ...HOWEVER! ...It continuously morphed for about an hour. The stages it went through, in order: sweet minty, sinus-clearing freshness grounded vetiver holding down the mint vetiver morphing to too-refreshing green notes now its Irish Spring now its some strange men's cologne, worn by a man I want nothing to do with... finally, where in hell did the vetiver go??? That was its saving grace for this vetiver lover...it ended up completely reminiscent of the smell of hair mousse, the kind used so often in the 80's & 90's...too fresh, too clean soapy, nothing grounded, and really artificial. How appropro!

It's tea-time! In an imp! Wow! Im having tea with these cute folks from some other galaxy...we have a lovely earl grey, with MILK, we have some extremely buttery biscuits with butterscotch frosting...and we even have a lovely vase of spring flowers on the table. The cucumber sandwiches are off to the side, its the earl grey and milk that is fighting for control. Lovely. wish the cucumber would stay away.

An interesting blend that brings strong visuals. Wet, it's a musky scent with a bite that recalls Jean Nate in some strange way...I had high hopes at this point. However, within minutes it took on a poisonous smell, something made me think of Raid -I grew up in a house infested with black widows in the desert valley of California. People were always spraying Raid...everywhere. Sometimes a huge, black, shiny widow would be in my closet with my shoes, or in my toy box. Their hidden egg sacks would hatch, and then the whole area would be doused with Raid. Perhaps thats why I have this disease today...anyway... The image that came to me about this scent was similar to Greed (though nothing alike!) - something poisonous with power, something toxic, and metallic, and totally alien. I MUST wash it off. It has a tiny undertone, nagging, that was in Troll or Event Horizon that made me nauseous. Not for the faint of heart, and definitely not for a hippie, vetiver-loving girl like me.

Smells so good in the imp...all foresty and delicious with pine and a hint of sweetness...but on my skin it immediately turned into one of those industrial floral room fresheners and gave me the beginning of a headache.

turns into thick powder and stays that way - headache! It must be the amber.

A light, pure scent: white musk, green tea, aloe and lemon. Just as stated, so lemony, very clean smelling, and makes me think of bathroom cleaner. Not for me. I enjoy lemon and verbena, but not when its also a sweet smell. This is very much like a very sour and very sweet lemon/orangeade.

A completely men's cologne scent. At first its an airy light citrusy scent, but turns to the spicy bay rum...Old Spice all the way, tho a more refined version. Not for me...but definitely for a man.

I get sweetness at first, almost fruity, like melon or something else...then it slowly morphs to a wet, salty sweet floral, and its not killing me by any means like florals normally do, it just is turning into a single note of floral now and I wish I was catching some of the blood in there.

Just too floral and sweet and the dragon's blood is trying to turn powdery...must wash off!

Oh how I loved this one for the first 5 minutes... and then sadly the beautiful dark notes turned to the exact scent of that bad 1980's aerosol hairspray...and stayed like that until I had to scrub it off. I just couldnt wear something that reminds me of when I lacquered my hair with hair spray.

Daiyu is a light, sweet, vanilla-like scent that is just so-so on me. I think I go for something that makes a prominent statement. This is a more gentle, background scent.

Really enjoyed this one especially as it was the only imp in a pack of six I could stand without washing off! Wet, it was much sweeter then drydown. It was all wine and darkness, somewhat complex, and on drydown the sweetness subsided a bit and was replaced with that faint sour tinge that dry wine leaves in your nose and on your taste buds. It reminds me much of one of my favorites, Blood Kiss. It has that complexity. It may be too similar for me to buy a bottle though.

This smelled delicious wet - the cognac and leather and tobacco blended wonderfully. Very happy - however, after about 5 minutes it turned and stayed into the leather and it wasnt a pleasant one! The best thing I can think of is bandages you find in the hospital. Really acrid and sterile...would have loved it otherwise.

Really thought this would be wonderful, the complexity seemed to overpower the florals that tend to amp. However, after wearing it for a bit, (15 min+) the florals amped as usual killing all the rest of the wonderfulness. ( another big disappointment.

Received this on the Orphanage thread. I really was hoping it would show the spices and leather...wet and on dry down this is basically a refreshing men's cologne, and I cant recall which one. It seems anytime there is an aquatic or floral of any kind, they amp on my skin and I cant get anything else. ( I'll let it sit another 15 minutes, but then its getting washed off. I have plenty of men's scents I LOVE (like Bluebeard).

Wet, this smells like that pink penicillin medicine I had to take as a kid. Of course, the florals are amping...of course! It smells like there MIGHT be other things under those sickening florals, but what it is, I'll never know. Another sweet floral mess on me. (

aaack I thought this floral might work because of the oakmoss, but the florals amped as did the red sandlewood and its now a sweet, powdery mess that just smells just like any other floral perfume and even slightly like a sweaty human

I agree with this almost completely. I love the honey wine scent, but this has a sourness to it like mead that hasnt been fermented long enough. And a touch of acrid makeup powder in the background.. 'Nuff said.
