Upon first whiff I get a lovely strawberry scent. Not a true strawberry though, but that weird candied strawberry scent you get in a lot of well… candies and cheap LipSmackers chapsticks. This is reminding me a bit of those scented My Little Ponys again. No plastic smell though, just the cheap-y candy strawberry scent.

Mmm… roses. Gads how I love BPAL’s rose blends. I don’t care what else is in it, rose always makes it better. On me this smells almost just like a rose SN. Very heavy on the rose but it’s not heady… if that makes sense. It’s not overwhelmingly roses. I catch a faint whiff of spicy sweetness in the background that mingles with the roses wonderfully without disturbing their own beauty. Wonderful wonderful scent. I’m a little upset that I didn’t buy a bottle when I had the chance and kept putting it off. I think that now I’ve learned me lesson and anything BPAL with rose in it is immediately getting a full bottle to start with.

A bit of a fruity sugar scent. Strange… like a fruit cocktail candy floss mixture.

... The autumnal scents of gladiola, chrysanthemum, aster, dahlia, anemone, bergamot, marigold, sage and verbena dust a blend of wine-soaked apples, plums, and red pears, mulling spices and brown sugar, the ivy leaves of Dionysus and Janus’ amaranth and lingum aloe. Wow, such a spicy floral… not like a Middle Eastern spicy though… more like a fall pumpkin pie spicy. This actually reminds me a lot of a perfume my grandmother used to wear. Sort of a white musky floral. I get a lot of the floral and perhaps a hint of the wine but no fruits yet. This is such an incredible scent though… wow, I hope the bottle of Harvest Moon 2006 I ordered is just as good, because this is wonderful and I’m slightly disheartened that I cannot have a whole bottle. I shall have to keep an eye out in the swaps section for more imps to horde though. < nods >

In the imp I get a sugary soap note overpowering everything… I hope it settles onto my skin okay. Hmm… I was hoping to like this one but it just smells like burned cheesecake crust. I’m getting no cake notes at all and I think the cream cheese scent is kind of rancid. Le sigh… I was so excited about this one too…. Perhaps I’ll save for a few weeks to test again and see if my skin chemistry is more agreeing then. <nods >

Wow… the honeydew smacks me over the head immediately! I mean, I know there were fruits listed in the description but I wasn’t expecting them to be so strong in a “winter” scent. After the initial drydown a hint of carnation is coming out peeking past the huge honeydew. It finally settles into a sweet floral, but not overwhelmingly so… the honeydew is still there and making its presence known.

In the imp I get a spicy sugar sweetness. On me, I haven’t quite gotten the caramel note… it seems more like the vanilla cream. But there’s something holding the vanilla back from its full potential it seems. After a bit of the drydown I get a teensy weensy hint of cooking sugar on the verge of caramelization but it never seems to reach full force.

In the imp: dark dark fudgey chocolate. On me, I’m still just getting dark fudge. I’ve always been amazed at how a brownie is kinda part-cake and part-fudge (yes, I actually ponder these things) and it seems to me that Lump of Coal is all fudge. I’m not a huge fan of dark chocolate and much prefer my Bliss over this… which is good considering Bliss is still around!

Mmm… boozy berries. Wow, I’m happy I got myself a whole bottle of this. After the initial drydown the buttercream frosting comes out and smells so sinfully wicked… I want to lick the bowl, spoon, beaters and any drops that were flung onto the countertop!! I’m also getting a sweet sugary fruity smell – I guess from the blackberry… it definitely has that small, dark berry tinge of sweetness to it. It finally settles into a sweet berry frosting on me that’s making me yearn for cupcakes… and some red velvet cake which I haven’t had in forever. Although, I never caught a whiff of the red velvet cake I’m still wanting some to eat… lol.

Well, I’m not sure what cassia smells like but this is a very dry bittersweet scent. I’m getting faint whiffs of coconut milk and a dark spicy cake. Up here in the region I live in in Italy, they have this regional cake dessert that they make and it reminds me so much of that. It’s a boozy, sweet, nutty, very dry cake. Looks a bit like cinnamon rolls but tastes absolutely nothing like it. Underbed smells so incredibly like that and the comparisons are a bit eerie. *note – 15 minutes later and I have an itchy red spot on my forearm where I applied this. No more and no less bigger than the swatch of oil I applied… which is weird, usually when I have an adverse reaction to an oil it kinda spreads out a bit like hives…. It’s not a huge problem or really irritating… it’s just an itchy nuisance like a mosquito bite… not at all burning, fiery acid droplets of doom like Faustus was for me.

Mmm… very sweet and sugary at first. Almost a fruity syrupyness. The sandalwood is rich and spicy. Oooh.. and when the butter rum comes out? Wow…. It’s so sinfully delicious and foody. Spicy and sweet and just wonderful. I’m normally not very into sandalwood scents but so far the Lab’s versions have been very good to me.

Just gorgeous!! The mixture of baby powder and vanilla is just inspired. It's young and innocent but womanly and sexy all at the same time. The jasmine is gorgeous and balances out well with the spicy perfumes. I'm actually not getting much of the rose note, which is sort of dissappointing, as I love the BPAL roses, but this is still a definite keeper and occassional wear.

A fast-acting, powerful scent used to overcome adversity through positive means. Attracts wealth, prestige, good health, and enhances others’ opinions of you. Grants courage and steadfastness. Grapejuice! Love it! Lol... I've been fiending for a lot of fruity scents lately though so take that for what it's worth. There's a nice herbal note too that doesn't overpower the grape and everything settles into a truly wonderful blend.

Rose, amber and white tea = wonderful blend!!! This Sudanese Amber really sticks out to me and I love it! No baby powder at all! < swoons > So feminine and ladylike... I know it's not a medieval scent per se, but this shall be my new SCA scent until I find a historical blend that I love as much.

Woods... meh. White musk is really strong at first... but there's woods. I'm just not lovin' the wood notes.

Wet fruits!! OMG... J'adore!! < blink blink > Holy #%@&... I just spoke French... I didn't know a perfume could do that to you. o_O

The tobacco sweetness is very evident at first whiff. Sandalwood lends a nice incensey herbal to the mix and a light floral (the lavender I think?) adds just a hint of sweetness. Not bad at all! Not my personal preference and getting a lower score because of that, but it's still a great scent!

At first whiff I get a heavy frankincense that whaps me over the head and after awhile the soft rose/rosewood peeking through. Better than I expected it to be..... Must be the rose saving the day again. Very nice floral perfume, not headache-inducing and seems calmed by the rosewood for a nice heady blend.

Lemon Pinesol!! Oh where have you been my whole life you delicious scent you? < swoons > Okay... I was just kidding. Pinesol = blech. After the drydown it's not bad at all. A delicate floral with a sweet citrus sideshow. It gets one of my 'average' scores.

Hmmm... better than the first time I tried it. I guess it's a good thing I didn't review it then, because it wouldn't have been flattering. This is swampy outdoor goodness without the rotting fish/vegetation/gator feces of a real bayou. The aquatic scents in this are AMAZING... more along the lines of a sea/ocean breeze ozone like in Sea of Glass rather than the nasty floodwaters of R'yleh (can you tell I didn't like that one much? ). I'm not getting any spanish moss notes either, which isn't really surprising because I don't get any scent out of the real thing wither.
-
This grass note smells very soapy on me. After awhile it fades and sweet flowers spring forth... not bad at all. Sweet with just a hint of berry fruitiness. The soap note brings down the score for me, but I would still consider getting a bottle of this.

VICK'S!!! With hints and whiffs of pine needles. No citrus. The citrus finally creeps out and it's a very faint orange rind scent... not at all sour, but definitely not enough to beat out the overpowering eucalyptus.
-
The honey/carnation blend really pops out at me at first. 5 minutes into - the rose has finally come out and melded with the honey to produce a sinfully sweet concoction. It's like Alice hitting puberty.

PEACHY FLORAL!!! OMG... I'm in love. This reminds me so much of Fredericksburg, TX with the Wildflower Farm and the peach groves lining the roadsides.... < le sigh >. Anything that reminds me of TX right now is fantastic!!! Amber is coming out baby powder but that's ok because I like baby powder... lol... and it fades away quickly into a delicate floral mix anyhow. < swoons > I so need multiple bottles of this!
