I get brandy and blackberry and a hint of tea on this. I basically got myself an imp pack of all the Luau scents but this is the first I've tried. However, I think all the rest will have to measure up to this one. I want to drink this right now, it smells so good! I've only had it on a short while so I may come back and add some notes to this review.

I've had an imp of this sitting around for a while and, when I finally got around to testing it out, never read the description (ha!) Having read the description now, I'd have to say I get almost all the notes. I get the aquatic far down in there, I think, with the main notes being the musk, leather, and rum/sarsparilla and a hint of patchouli. It's a long-lasting scent for me, but, I'm a slatherer by nature, so.. that might just be me. I mean, it'll start to fade towards the end of the day, but it's still recognizable. This is probably one of my favorite pirate scents out of the ones I have, though I don't have all of them.

Dried orange peels floating in simmering cider, roasted apples, smoldering firewood, chimney smoke, sassafras beer, warm hawthorn wood, and oakmoss. First impressions: OUCH. There must be cinnamon in here because immediately after I swiped some on my wrist, it got all itchy and red. Thankfully, it's since gone away. I mean, it's still a bit itchy, but the redness is mostly gone. This smells EXACTLY as it's described. I get the cider directly up front with the woods and smoke faintly in the background. The roasted apples comes up after a while and, while it mixes with the cider, it's still slightly different. It would be helpful if I actually FINISHED my review before posting it. Anyway, this is pretty damn delish. I'll just have to remember to apply LIGHTLY, rather than slathering because of the cinnamon. :x

This is.. kind of a hard to describe mixture. I definitely get the strawberry. It's slightly plasticky, but since it's more of a background note on my skin, it's not too bad. I get another note that I can only describe as the spun blue sugar because it SMELLS blue. If I sniff too deeply, I get entirely strawberry plastic, but if I just get a whiff, I get some of the salt water taffy note, I think. Overall, it's like a toothache for me. Keeping the imp for snacks. , but probably not worth a bottle as it's not something I'd reach for that often.

Wow. Wet, this is aaaaaaaaaaaaaall citrus. But, as it starts to dry, the musk comes out. Not much, though. I think Phobos is too lemony for me. ETA: On the drydown (well after, really) this gets BEAUTIFUL. The musk comes out to play A LOT more, which definitely tempers the OMGLEMON I get at first. And (like I said in the Crowley reviews) when this mixes in the air with Crowley, homghomghomggggggggggg. Tasty. Phobos is definitely a keeper now if only for the lovely linger effect it gives after it dries and because it compliments Crowley in a most perfect way!

Mine is aged a few months, so I'm not sure how this changed the oil. Just FYI. Wow this is freakin sexy. It's all leather and vanilla straight out of the imp and just.. ngh. For some reason the cologne note has a hint of... chocolate to it? Though, that's PROBABLY just the addition of the vanilla that makes it smell that way. I'm hoping that when it dries down the musk and patchouli come out a little bit, otherwise this is going to have to move on. It's sexy, yes, but it would be MORE sexy on the boyf and I can't get him to wear anything other than Axe's Phoenix body spray. :|||| ETA: Hommmmmmmmmmg this just gets so much better after the dry-down period. The mahogany comes out making it so much more complex. For a while there it was starting to smell a LOT like de Sade, which I already lovelovelove, but then it changes so mmm;hlkh Add on the fact that I tested Phobos on my other arm and when they mix and mingle in the air. Unf. So hot.

In the imp, I distinctly get the smell of early summer evenings. it's a hint of aloe or anti-itch gel (idk!!) that I'm getting which is so weird. Once on, it gets oddly... sweet? It's still got this weird tang to it. I'm honestly not sure how aged this imp is, but I know it's not freshly made. lol Oh god. What is THAT? Oh, it's the amber. Turning to baby powder. AND IT SMELLS LIKE DIRTY NASTY OMG WHAT. Why does it smell funky now??? Like mold or something? omg DDD: BUT I CAN'T STOP SNIFFING MY WRIST because underneath it all it's a pretty musk. Very faintly, though. If it would just DRY NICELY, it might be worth the homg gag. Yeah. I don't think it's going to work out because now it's all 'grandma's perfume' and lemon cleaner-ish. Sad.

This is all musky vanilla on me with a TEENSY hint of pomegranate on me. Which means that it doesn't smell like plasticky nasty. \o/ Yum. -
I got this in a decanted imp in the hopes that it would be delish tonka bean, patchouli, and mint, but all I seem to get is the lemon peel and... coriander, I think. It's rather floral and that makes me sad. If it dries down into something a little darker, I'll be happy, but who knows. (((( ETA: As it dries, the woods come out a bit, but then it gets all cologne-y on me and it's just.. well, it's kind of gross. Woe.

I've had this imp for ages and am finally getting around to trying it. At first it was all.. cough medicine-y on my skin. I'm not sure which note that was. Probably the cranberry, but now that it's starting to dry the cedar is coming out and it smells almost.. Christmas-y? It's pretty good though. Definitely keeping the imp.
-
D: Oh god. I forgot this had pomegranate in it (I'm testing all the imps I've had for ages finally) and DDDD: as much as I love the actual fruit, pomegranate in perfume smells like.. plasticky nasty on me I smell like.. really gross chapstick or something. Maybe it'll dry nice? But... wah D:

When I first tried Port Royal, I didn't like it all that much. But, trying it again (after aging it a while), hooooooooooooooooomg. I definitely smell the rum and oh boy is it delish. Spiced rum is one of my faaaaaaaavorite hard liquors so like.. om nom nom. Add in the hint of musk from the perfume note and the wood and I'm DONE. Now, if only I could convince the boyf to wear my perfume.. ETA: Drydown! Hello more woods! I totally kind of want to do myself right now. >>
-
Oh, Aziraphale. Even after aging you still smell like soap. It may be my body chemistry being off this week, so I will have to try it again, but still. DO NOT WANT.

Wow. I got an imp of this with a birthday order a friend made for me and.. I'm not sure WHAT I'm smelling, to be honest. But, it smells like a much heavier version of Hexennacht on my skin. And, from what I can tell, they don't share any common components. Though, it could be the mandrake dust that reminds me of the fir and herbs from Hexennacht. I'm not sure. Anyway, just like Hexennacht, it sits close on my skin and the mimosa note seems to compliment the currant (I think that's what I'm smelling??) and I like it.

Mmmm.. This is slightly fruity with a bit dash of spice. The wine gives it a slight undercurrent of... wine...ness. (I win at description!) For a split second after applying, I thought it might be (like Gluttony & Vice) too foody for me, but no.. This mellows out into something very... yummy. I'm not sure if it's a good skin scent for me and it makes me wish I had an oil burner/tart melter thingy so I could try it as a room scent.

DCCLXXVI I purchased this imp from maijasu, curious about the one CT3 blend that she wasn't able to pick many notes out of. Bad idea, self. Bad idea! In the imp, it smelled like a Sugar Skull variant, and that made me excited. But, once I put it on? EW! Burning rubber? What is that? Now that it's drying down, I still have the Sugar Skull smell (sugary with a hint of fruity), but I'm thinking there must be some sort of amber in here because now I smell like sugary/fruity baby powder. While some people may enjoy that... me? Not so much. *sigh* Oh well, off to swaps with this guy. Hopefully the other CT3 imps I have (and have on the way), will suit me better.
-
CT3 DCCCXXIII: Oh wow. This is a morpher and thank god for that. A whiff of the bottle immediately brings to mind cherry cough drops/cough syrup. Ick. But, the minute it hits my skin? Beeeeeeeeeautiful sort of Jester smell. Which, btw, was my FIRST BPAL blend & my first BPAL love, so this is like. Seriously. Perfect for me. But, on top of that minty berry smell, is a spicy cinnamon note, while, below it all, is a hint of creaminess. I think I'm in love. :3

This is the captured scent of a cold, moonless night, lost deep within the darkest wood. Haunting and desolate, this scent evokes images of fairy tale tragedy and half-remembered nightmares. Thick, viscous pine with ambergris, black musk, juniper and cypress. Ugh. This is all ambergris & black musk on me. Ick. No. ;_; edited for the lab's descript.

Finally testing this out. In April, yes. I'm anxious to make a little bit of space in my imp box, so that means I have to get to testing all the decants and such I got around the winter holidays. Well, they were a bit late in getting to me, so yeah. :x This is just.. Mmm. It's minty, but.. aquatic. Which makes for minty snow, obviously. It's actually cooling on my skin. Not exactly a spring scent, but probably one I'll keep around for summer when I want to chill out. As it dries it gets a little masculine. Like, cologne-esque. ACK! No! It's getting more and more masculine. Like shaving cream. Boo. Hopefully that changes, if not, it'll probably get put up for swaps. Which is a bummer, as it's so wonderfully cooling and minty when wet.

I think I recognize the oude in this oil, but that's about it. Well, there's a hint of something else but that's all it really is. A hint. A tease of, "hey, you know. if your skin chemistry was different, this would probably smell stronger! hahahaha" When it was wet, the incense was very strong, but nope. Not anymore. I'm not giving up on it just yet, though. I'm gonna try it once more. Maybe I didn't apply enough. Plus, I have Serpent's Kiss on the other wrist and it's overwhelming & interferring. *sticks tongue out*
-
Meh. This is mainly vetivert on me. ;_; I was hoping for more Dragon's Blood & spice, but, nope. All vetivert. Swaps, definitely.
-
WOW! This is.. really good. I'm not sure what I'm getting note-wise here, beyond the patchouli (which I got straight from the imp), but this is.. wow. It's got a green edge to it when wet and then it gets kinda dusty. Like western flowers in a summer desert? Except, there's a hint of fallen leaves, so maybe, instead of western desert flowers, it's more.. dusty damp leaves in fall. So confusing, but so GOOD! I'm getting a potpourri kinda scent, when everything mixes together, which is kinda uncool, but we'll see how this dries down. I hope it stays nice and the potpourri mixture goes away.

I had this on my wishlist since the first Poe series came out and once it was gone, had given up all hope of getting my hands on an imp. Lucky me, since I left it on my wishlist, OW sent me an imp with a few left over Yule decants that I'd been waiting for. On to the review.. There's supposed to be florals in here? *sniff* I get skin musk vaguely reminiscent of Hexennacht (which is the reason I wanted to try this in the first place) with a HINT of flower if I sniff enough. Mmmmm I think this is one of those scents that sits close to your skin, which I love in the right blend. \o/ Yay. Dreamland is definitely a winner for me.
-
Mmmm foody. This is.. slightly caramel, I suppose. Very sweet. Wet, dry, this is very buttery caramel. The fruit is coming up a bit, but not much. Apparently I amp the buttery note very well, except not, because I think it's one of the notes that gives me a raging headache. So, unless something fights that butteriness into submission, I might have to pass on this imp of Red Lantern.

Okay. This is a MAJOR changer. I just want to say that first off. Haha In the imp this is all musky patchouli and YUM. When it's wet, it's the same, but then it suddenly CHANGES. And it turns.. gross. I don't know what it is. It happened when I tested it before when my package got here and it happened again when I put it on to wear just now. God. I got so paranoid before when it got gross because... SMUT! NEEDS! TO BE! WEARABLE! Because, hello?? SMUT. Plus, musk & patchouli is usually WIN on me. I'm thinking the GROSS bit might be the boozy note, but I'm not sure. I don't care all that much, because it doesn't last long. I'm recognizing it as the 'peanut butter' note some people have mentioned lol Either way. Whatever. Because, when this finally settles, it gets so YUMMY. The musks blend beautifully and the booze settles (thankfully!). It reminds me of Lust and/or Vixen, I can't remember right now lol So, while this is good, I'm content with just an imp. I'm also curious to see how this ages.
