November 9th Yules: I'm interested in Maison en Pain D'Espices, Pumpkin Masala Rooibos, Colder and Colder and The Horrors of my Secret Toil. Pumpkin Masala Rooibos will probably be a bottle purchase, but not until January and I want to see reviews of the other three before I pounce on any of them. === November 8th Do you prefer dark or milk chocolate? I will eat dark chocolate, but I prefer milk chocolate and I love good quality white chocolate. === November 7th What are your opinions on traditional holiday cookie flavorings? I'm thinking anise and cardamom in particular. Yum! Do you like artisan oils and vinegars? I haven't really worked with them, but fancy oils would give me an excuse to keep good bread around. Bunny, could you use a 2012 calendar, and, if so, do you like big monthly ones or the page-a-day type? I usually go calendar shopping between December 26th and early January (unless I see something awesome, in which case I pounce. The earliest I've bought a wall calendar for the following year is April). I love regional calendars especially - I'm still kicking myself for not getting a calendar full of gorgeous landscapes in Montana back in 2001, for instance. (The April 2006 calendar purchase was National Parks in CO, UT, NM, and AZ and I bought it from Mesa Verde National Park). I don't use the daily calendars, and I'll need to pick up a new planner for my purse but those I get picky about (can't be too big/small/thick, I like some layouts over others, etc). === November 6th Charity gifts? Either fair-trade type stuff, or virtual type gifts, like vaccinations or school supplies being bought on your behalf, or something along those lines? Fair trade stuff is always good. I'm picky about charities though. Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in? I have some scents up on my kaboodle. I haven't looked at any of her new ones or seasonals, but I'm less picky about candles than I am perfume so as long as it isn't flowergeddon I'd be okay. Do you need any holiday recipies? Is there something in particular that you'd like baked or made for you? And for those of you doing the no sugar/low sugar, etc. thing these days, how about savory things? In terms of recipes, whatever I want to cook I can usually find either in one of my cookbooks or online. There isn't really anything that I'd have during this season that I can't make for myself (a couple notable exceptions, but for the most part I don't need to be eating them, like fudge). Otherwise I'm up to being surprised. Speaking about candles, how much do you look forward to the BPTP candles that will be launched on Etsy? I don't know if there will be other scents than the Samhain and Pumpkin Cookie one, but is there a specific one you are longing for? I'd have been more interested in tarts, tbh. Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc.? Nope! Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms? Geology and Meteorology I tend to be nerdy with. I'm also a total francophile. Bunnies, how do you feel about lemon-flavored items, like lemon marmalade, lemon curd, lemon pound cake, or lemon cookies? Yum! fingerless mittens or full mitts? I prefer convertible with fingerless gloves under the mitt part. == November 4th Any favorite cuddly characters? Eeyore. I have two that I snuggle with - a special holiday version that is all white with royal blue accents (like the inside of his ears) and an older one whose mane has seen better days and the tail is long gone that I've had since high school. Moxie Nouveau groupon? Its too late to get the groupon now, but there wasn't really anything from their Christmas update that grabbed me and there are no ingredients listed for the lotion that you'd get. what's your favourite colour? Pink! Your favourite gemstone? Probably my least favorites are rose quartz, diamonds, and rubies. I have a bachelor's degree in geology, so everything else is fair game. I also love glass. Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)? Cats, red pandas, snow leopards. And do you have any intense phobias? Heights and elevators. Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause? I did Nanowrimo once, at least five years ago.. and dropped out by about the 5th because I ran out of stuff to write about. Haven't felt the urge to do it again. Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks? I've got a cigar box that is starting to get a bit full, and I could use imp storage. == November 3 and earlier so...someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from walgreens to ONLY use on things for yourself. no necessities here. what do you buy? I really like Wet n Wild's eyeshadows. I'd probably pick up one of the other baked mineralized palettes if they're still out (I have.. Bake a Cake? has a couple pinks and a pretty periwinkle) and maybe a trio (I have the I have Good Jeans and the Getting Sunburned (or something like that) trios - I'm unsure about reds, blacks, yellows, and oranges in eyeshadow (although I have a couple golds and I <3 them).. and uh.. usually I'm only in Walgreens to look for WnW stuff or to get more real sudafed. Maybe a fluffy magazine, a bag of chips, or some pretty smelling shampoo? I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (it's penzey's if you want to google it). The manager at my local Penzey's recognizes me as a regular. Stuff I haven't been able to justify: the cheese sprinkles, salad topping/dressing blends, and the non-vanilla extracts. Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? do you prefer machine washable materials? do you not care?)? I am allergic to wool, but any other fibers are good. I can hand wash things. Colors.. Not too fond of yellow and orange, love most shades of pink, any jewel tones (including golds and more burnt oranges), bright colors (but not neon, unless it's an accent). I have really good fleece convertible mittens, so I'm covered there, but I could use a scarf or a hat that will all the way cover my ears (the nordic print/patterned hats with the pompom on top and the earflaps with the cords are a favorite style), and I'm always game for socks and slippers and whatnot. hey swap partner...could you use a new mug? No new mugs until I break enough of them (not a habit I have, really) to make space for new ones. Although I could use an idiot-proof travel mug. Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try? New York style bagels. I've found things that are close.. but not quite. And good hard rolls and portuguese rolls.. and I could never ever give up carbs. Every so often I get a hankering for Dipsy Doodles or Tastycake's Butterscotch.. thingies. And huckleberry stuff. And I *miss* the fresh pasta selection I had in Italy, but I don't expect anyone to mail that. Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such? Would you like a special ornament? I do a tree. When my husband and I decided on artificial, we decided to go all the way artificial - it's a solid white tree. We're currently using these mini LED lights (with a green cord) and our star is LED lit and alternates between green and blue, and there is currently an overabundance of blue ornaments on our tree (many of which are glittery) so I've been trying to even that out with uh.. everything but blue. And I seem to lack the gene necessary to deem things too tacky to hang on a Christmas tree (the same goes for magnets on my fridge). I still regret not getting the miniature pair of antlers I found at Walmart a few years ago (I went back a few days later and they had [/i]sold out[/i].) So I'm game for new ornaments. Tim Tams. Yay or nay? I've only had the America ones - my world market doesn't seem to stock the Australian ones - but the ones I've tried were yummy! Now, a question of my own: I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? Home-made goodies are yum! While I'm kinda terrified of deep-frying things myself, I'm fine with receiving them pre-fried. My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a bodyscrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? I would be game.. I prefer sugar over salt and more moist scrubs. In terms of EO's, I'd probably go for soothing things like vanilla or lavender. Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? I don't really have storage space for holiday specific serving things, but I'm open to holiday linens (table cloths, table runners, cloth napkins). Probably more Winter/Thanksgiving/Fall - I have a decent selection of Christmassy ones at the moment. Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? if yes, then what kind? scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? I'm more of a tart person. My cats are too interested in flames for me to feel comfortable burning candles all that often. Scent-wise, I don't care for ones that are heavily floral, but I like aquatic scents, foodie scents, some herbal ones (like fresh mint or basil). Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores. I go through soap super slowly so little bars are nice because I can get more variety. Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? Unless it's the middle of summer, I'm almost always in socks. I could use slippers.. and I've never ordered from Sock Dreams. Would you wear something like this (knitted cowl) if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? It's enough material that I would probably never really figure out how to wear it correctly. I swear my mom and my sister love sending me sweaters with unreasonably gigantic collar bits so they can laugh while I figure out how to make it look right/not awful. new question: talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA? I drink coffee and tea. Tea can be loose or bagged, and I'm game for pretty much any flavor (although my allergies have to be doing particularly well for me to be able to taste white teas). There was this one tea that my mom got years ago that we found at a tea exhibit at a local museum (teas and tea pots and sets from different ages and cultures) that Martha Stewart crowed about that tasted roughly like straight-from-the-tree pine sap, so none of that, tho. I don't really care for most herbal teas either. (although I love roibos). Coffee - I have a keurig, but I have the my k-cup thing and I use that because bagged coffee is way cheaper than k-cups. I don't have a grinder, so pre-ground is needed. I think infusion grind is best, but I use coffee ground for automatic drip all the time and it still tastes good. Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? I have zero clue on how to use loose eyeshadows. I'd probably make me look clown-like. There's a bunch of colors that look interesting, but I'm more used to eyeshadow in more solid forms. The lip tar looks interesting, although I generally go for sheer/semi-sheer glittery glosses - I'd probably go for Stalker or NSFW (because of all of the colors, the ones I'm least afraid of are the bright reds). Have you tried anything from Cocoa Pink and if so, what products and scents do you like or would like to try? I haven't ordered since Ilona still ran the company (due to lack of funds, not distrust of the new owner). The coco-mango body butter was amazing, and I liked the junket cream conditioner. CP stuff tends to be stronger scented that I go for, so I'd probably get the body butter unscented and the conditioner either unscented or something less complex so it would go with my perfume choices instead of clashing or completely overshadowing them. Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? I wear nail polish. Most of my polishes (and current top and base coat) are 3-free. I have so many greens and blues that I'm getting kinda picky about them but I won't refuse more.. I don't care for traditional pinks, reds, and neutrals (or orange and yellow). My favorite finish is probably shimmer - I like cremes (especially in more out there shades) and a lot of glitters, but some glitters (like the holiday ones from Zoya this year) do not-nice things like get stuck in my hair, which pulls a chunk of the polish off my nail. If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!) Probably bottles of Snake Oil and Black Phoenix, and three imps off my gc wishlist. How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero? Not a comic fan. I don't hate them, I just don't follow them. Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own? I used to have a copy of this one, but I don't know where it went. I can't remember the name, but it's a Muppet Christmas special where they all descend on Fozzie's mom's house unexpectedly (and she's heading out of town) and Miss Piggy gets stuck in the snow and the Swedish Chef wants to eat Big Bird, and Robin and Kermit meet the Fraggles and Jim Henson appears at the end washing dishes. I'd also love a copy of The Muppet's Christmas Carol (no cheeses for us meeses). (We have both blu-ray and regular DVD players). Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online. The few products I've tried didn't really seem to be worth their cost. would you like a Paintbox from Paintbox Soapworks? If so, which scents? Whenever I manage to use up my soap stash (which is.. two bars plus the current one? But I only use bar soap for washing my hands in the bathroom, so it takes foreeeeeever to use up a bar) I'll probably switch to the paintboxes so I can have more variety in soap scents. Scent-wise, I tend to toss things that look good on my etsy wishlist. (including the new yules). I love the sorbetto, and slip is nice but I still have about have a bottle of Avast (that I bought in early July) - it's awesome for summer (for my skin) but it's not really enough for winter time. I'd be interested in trying the body butter of hers that doesn't contain shea (if I'm remembering right, one formula had shea but the other didn't). NEW QUESTION! - Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety? I have two cats who are pretty well spoiled, but they are feline and like knocking things off tables and stealing shiny things off my Christmas tree. The husband is deployed and won't be back until May. How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any? Honey is growing on me - I have a big jar or raw meadowfoam honey I bought from a hippie dude last fall that my pantry ate for six months (I spotted it over the summer and used tongs to fish it out of the corner of the cabinet that it - I've since gotten a step stool) so I'm good there, but I wouldn't mind a whipped honey (especially one with cinnamon) as that's easier to put on things like bread. I also like beeswax in body products. NEW QUESTION: Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist? I don't live near one, and when I've visited home (northern NJ) my family has offered to take me to one and I refused because I don't want to know what I'm missing. A few questions of my own- If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you? None of the Weenie's really grabbed me this year. Will you be away for any part of the round? Maybe, but I'll post in the thread if that happens. What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything? I have books on my amazon list, but I'm open to trying new authors too - I like fantasy, some sci-fi, some romance, mysteries, erotica (as long as its more plot than sex), fiction.. non-fiction if the subject is something I'm interested in. Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar (and they all taste of rose. Yes, we have all these in Greece.) I don't know that I would go for Turkish Delight, but I'd probably eat candied rose petals (or other edible flowers, although I have dried lavender buds in my pantry so I don't need more of those) or other rose flavored things. Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? (If yes, any preferences? for example you wold prefer to try the chewing gum, the turkish delight, an Easter bun (I can go hunting, some companies make them all year round although it's not the same as the bakery Easter ones), the raw resin itself, anything?) No clue what it is, but I would try it! i live in the city of the chicken wing. if i were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter). I don't like heat for the sake of heat. I hate most buffalo wings (whenever my husband drags me out for wings I go for non-buffalo sauced ones, often with a higher heat rating that the buffalo wings my husband gets because it's ginger teriyaki or lemon and garlic with an emphasis on the garlic or something like that). But I love spicy heat, like in Indian food, and I've ordered things with flame symbols next to the picture in South Korea and survived. If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store foodwise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like? Barnes and Noble (to feed my Nook), Starbucks, AAFES (which is probably tricky for non-military), Chilis, World Market, Whole Foods, iTunes, Groupon/Living Social If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? I don't care for fruit or chilies in my chocolate. I'm currently on the fence about salted caramel so I don't know that I'd go for salted chocolate. Favorite holiday candies.. I am spoiled in that where I grocery shop (a military commissary) has an awesome selection of German holiday goodies - my favorites are a couple of the cookies, actually. Fusion Sweets: I have a weakness for homemade marshmallows so I haven't really looked at the caramels. I'm also intrigued by their berlingots - but I've always preferred hard candies over caramel. Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update? I love looking, but pretty much everything I like is either reserved already or expensive. How about mulling spices? I have some currently. Bunny, what scent are you desperately wanting to be resurrected this year with the Anniversary update? Maybe Snake Charmer, but my bottle is still pretty much full. Death Adder (which I also have an aged bottle of), but that'll hopefully come back when CD comes back. I haven't had a blend I adored get discontinued yet, and I've either got the hard to find blends I love, or they don't work for me.

== September 25th Would you be interested in regional jams, jellies, or other preserves? Sure! Do you have any bedtime rituals? Is there any particular product you have to apply or a certain shirt you wear or an act you perform to get you in the "bedtime" mood? Not really? Princess Bride? Yay or nay? I like the movie and I've watched it several times. == September 24th how do you feel about ethical animal fiber, i.e. wool and the like? All good, just no wool. Ethical or no, it still gives me hives. What about little wee creatures for your desk or mantel? I don't have a fireplace, and my desk is always a disaster.. and I have cats. So no. Look down. What are you wearing, right now? I uh.. just took off my ponytail holder and I'm about to go downstairs to get clean undies? Kerchiefs? Not something I wear. It's the weekend, and you find yourself without a single chore or responsibility for a few hours. Right this very moment, what's the one thing you would do if you could do anything? This is kinda my life right now with me being unemployed. I have chores and stuff, but it doesn't keep me occupied 24/7. == September 23rd I just noticed that Cocoa Pink has 5 ml Perfume Atomizers. Yay or nay? Scents you would like? Scents you would NOT like? I think most of CP's stuff is too foody for me. what's your favorite kind of pizza? I love any non-chain pizza - it's really all about the crust! With the sauce (if there is any) next - but I also love pizzas that are more foccacia like with just olive oil and potatoes on it. In terms of chain pizzas, I prefer Pizza Hut or Little Ceasar's, and in grocery store pizza, Safeway has some really tasty options in their frozen house brand line. who are your style/fashion icons? post pics if you want! I don't know that I have a fashion icon. Are there any food items you're craving/aren't able to find around your area? NY style bagels, from a place that makes them themselves. I've found some decent ones here, but nothing quite like home. == September 22nd If you're interested in a handmade pouch/cover for an item you have (phones, tablets, books, keys, kettles...), what would your ideal pouch/cover have? Design, material, additional functionality/features like pockets or lights or secret hidey-holes? My ideal Nook case would be something that maybe zips around three sides so it's fully protected but still has a cover flap so if I get up to do something and put my Nook down I don't have to worry about my cats dancing on/bouncing off the screen, with somewhere to stash my Lyra light that's not blocky or in the way. What are the feelings on arm warmers? Color, style, texture, length? I don't think I'd wear them. Do you like tarts? tealights? jar candles? votives? I am technically full up on tarts but I won't say no to more. I don't need anymore things with wicks until I burn all the ones I have, and I currently have lots. What's your favorite flavor? Sour, sweet, bitter, salty? Probably sweet followed closely by salty. So, are there any online gaming witchees who covet purchasable in-game items or other gamer-y stuff? (yup, geek question) I don't know if it's possible to send anything like that in Guild Wars (and the only thing I really need/want would be Xunlai panels, and they're not really worth $10).. What is your favorite coffee blend at Starbucks? If you don't have one, what is your favorite roast of coffee? I don't have a favorite blend, and I like medium to dark roasts - but also? I have a ton of coffee and really don't need more until I've made a big dent in my stash (which is hard, because I managed to lose my my-k-cup on myself, arg!) == September 21st Cthulhu: yay or nay? Not into Lovecraft. Is there something that you wish you could do, but you keep putting it off? I'd love to go to school and get background in something that will get me a job that moves, but I have no idea what I'd want to do. Put your current mp3player (I am the anti-apple, so no ipod ), winamp playlist, what have you, on shuffle, list the first 10 songs: I'm currently using spotify and I'm bouncing between playlists alot and don't really want to make one gigantic one of everything. Witchee, have you made (or are you planning to make) any Lab or Trading post orders soon? And if you did (or plan to), you should share what you're getting No plans. Haven't ordered from the lab in well over a year. Do you have any interest in rocks? Not like, polished colorful stones.. but like... rocks. With geologic significance! Love rocks. comes with the geology degree. If your witch were to knit you a scarf/shawl/cowl, which would you prefer, and what features would you want? Would you prefer something light and drape-y or thick and warm? What kind of colors would you prefer? Do you have any fiber allergies or preferences? I feel like I've answered this before? Recently? I'm allergic to wool, any of the colors listed as likes in my questionnaire are fine, and I'm pretty sure I'd never wear a shawl or cowl. Do you like/own/wear/want fairy wings or something of the like? I've thought about making myself a pair for the odd rennaissance festival I go to, but it's not a priority. How do you feel about terrariums? Something else for me to kill? I'm not the best with indoor plants. What's your favorite horror movie? Not a fan of horror. If your witch was the practical type and wanted to include one or more of your everyday essentials, what would those include? I'm talking about the bath products, lotions, face lotions, teas, food, etc that you really use every day. Currently I'm stash-busting, so I'm using body wash and shampoo and conditioner that I've accumulated (and then hopefully once I'm through all of them I'll have a job again so I can afford the better quality shampoos that work better). Things I like to use are SLS-free shampoos, nice smelling body washes, sugar scrubs, Villainess Slick, mud masks (currently working through a Villainess Mud Sampler that I'll probably replace with another sampler when I actually manage to finish it off - the variety is nice). Jane Austen .. Yay or Nay? Not one of my favorites. If you could choose a Smack, what would it have in it? I find smacks too drying. if you could have a salon scent made, based on any artwork(s) what would it be? Anything that I'd pick would be guaranteed to have notes that hate me in it. I'd love to see any of Monet's waterlily paintings, but most florals don't work on my skin. Are you scientifically curious and/or process-oriented? Would you like a project-type gift that allowed you do do something like make soap from scratch, take and (nontoxic-ly) develop photographs using a pinhole camera, use plant dyes on yarn or fabric, etc.? Space is an issue. I don't really have any messy-craft safe spaces in my house, and things that need to be done outside have a limited time before winter is here. Do you like homemade snack mixes? I know Puppy Chow was mentioned in a previous question, but what about healthier and more natural type snacks like granola or trail mix? You can put a lot of delicious and fun things into trail mix, yeah? If you say "Sure, I'd love some!" what kinds of things do you like/not like in those kinds of snacks, ie coconut flakes, raisins, certain nuts (allergies??), candy, etc. Give us your list of DO's and DON'Ts! Not the biggest fan of raisins, unless they're yogurt covered. Otherwise I'm game for most anything. Do you like charm bracelets? If you had a bracelet, what sort of charms would you want on it? Favorite hobbies, symbols, whatever? I don't mind charms incorporated into more regular jewelry, but I'm not into charm bracelets.

This feels like its getting long, splitting to part 2 (and hoping the questions slow down, yikes). == September 20th Would you like any ecotools makeup brushes? They're kinda one of my favorite things ever, and they're animal-friendly and the handles are bamboo. And to top it all off, they work really well for applying makeup. I could use more eyeshadow brushes (that's pretty much the only thing I use that needs a brush - the sponge applicators tend to make me look like I'm wearing clown makeup). Do you like Legos? Especially mini-fig key chains, Lego block keychains, small Lego sets, etc? I liked them as a kid, but I don't know that I need any now? I've looked at some of the ones with famous buildings but a. I have nowhere to put the finished thing, and b. the likelihood of one of my cats eating a critical piece is pretty high. Since the previous question about "what would you buy from the Lab if you had unlimited funds, etc" left WAY too much to the imagination with no limitations (my answer was pretty much BUY ALL THE THINGS!), what would you do if you found a $50 bill on the ground and a nagging voice in the back of your mind told you that you HAD to spend it on BPAL or else face Death. Also, say they had free shipping (LOL) so don't factor that in. What would you get? And spend it all! Or as close to $50 as you can get. Probably bottles of Snake Oil and Black Phoenix, and a handful of imps I've been meaning to try. A question! If you are crafty, what's your personal art style? I'm not talking just about what art you like to look at, but what kind of art do you like creating? Do you have a "process" while you're creating beauty? It depends on what I'm doing. Are there any Arcana Weenies that you MUST HAVE? Not really. Too many death notes. So what say you? IS an "unexpected" visit/in-person witching OK? I live on a military base, and I spend a.. decent? amount of time running around nekkid, so warning is pretty much a must. == September 19th what strange misc. items would you love to receive that you just haven't gotten for yourself?: Maybe good quality colored pencils? Otherwise I'm not sure. How do you feel about franken polish? Are you okay with all chemicals, or would you prefer 3 free? Would you want glitter or holographic glitter? What colors would interest you? Between my questionnaire and the other polish question, colors are pretty well covered. Glitter is good, as is holo. My base and top coats are 3-free, so I don't know how well they'd play with non-3-free polish. Dear witchee, how do you feel about lip balm? Favorite style (twist up tube, pot, tube with wand, etc.)? Favorite flavors? Flavors to avoid? Favorite brand? Do you need more right now or are you set? Are you one of those people who could never have enough lip balm even though you have a bowl on your dresser overflowing with them and 10 in your purse and an order for more on the way? I'm kinda technically set on lipbalm right now, but we're also heading into winter so having them stashed everywhere is always good. I like ones that have similar consistency to My Lip Balm's Balms - currently I'm using a Dagoba lib balm in roseberry (and I also have the mint one) and I really like them, but I also grabbed them on sale for half off. I've also liked Badger Balm's cocoa lip balm. Would you be interested in getting fountain pen inks or art supplies via JetPens and or DickBlick? (I know I have a wishlist on JetPens and just love using fountain pens in my artwork) I don't really work with fountain pens currently - I mostly use colored pencils and pastels. I'd love to get back into painting but I don't have space currently. -For those interested in watercolors, how would you feel about getting a palette filled with paint from my watercolor tubes but not getting the paint tube itself? (kind of like this but without the covers for the compartments and bigger http://www.flickr.co.../in/photostream) That would work for me! -How do you feel about getting art supplies in general? (copic markers, watercolor, brushes, paint, sketchbooks etc.) I could use sketchbooks, watercolors, and watercolor paper (and then rig something somewhere). -How do you feel about Threadless tshirts? They have some cute ones, but they're not really my style. If you were turned loose in a basic drug store (CVS, Walgreens - a pharmacy with attached mini-mart, basically!) with a $20 bill, what would you pick up? In an ideal drug store, I'd get a box of 24-hour sudafed with nothing added, and a couple of the $2 Wet n Wild limited edition palettes. My local Walgreens stores never have sudafed I want, and they don't get WnW's LE anything. Darling Witchee, would you enjoy farmer's market pickled veggies (green beans, garlic, asparagus, etc) or fresh canned peaches or something of that nature? Not a big fan of pickled anything, but I'd happily nom canned fruit! Do you prefer color or white photographs? Nature or abstract? It really depends on the content. I like both and I'm drawn to both? would you be interested in something like this? https://lostcrates.com/how-it-works I don't know that I would go through the journals/pens/pencils fast enough to need something like that. Amigurumi, yes or no? It's cute, but I don't have anywhere to put small plushies where the cats can't reclaim them as toys. I have a question! What are some of your favorite paintings? (famous or undiscovered?) Feel free to link to examples! It's easier for me to name favorite art museums, because otherwise I'll spend hours trying to find this painting or that painting. I loved Musee D'Orsay in Paris (and I've been to the Louvre, but both times just the Italian wing, which is not where most of my favorite art is). Love the Metropolitan Museum of Art, enjoyed Philly's Museum of Art, but I'm super picky about Modern art so Le Centre Pompidou did nothing for me. === September 18th Do you wear t-shirts? Are there particular things you like on them? Would you like one designed by your Witch? And, if you don't mind saying, what size t-shirt do you wear? I don't wear a lot of t-shirts, especially ones with stuff on the front. Boobs+Tummy+Lack of torso just makes it unappealing. How do you feel about pumpkin scented things? Not perfume related, but soap, candles, etc.... If it actually smells like pumpkin, sure. Has anyone else heard of or does anyone else love Glamourkin? I'm probably and oddball, but I think I'd like the pendants more without the text. The black text on white background just distracts too much from the image. There were a couple with more white backgrounds and those were more appealing, but none grabbed me. If you had an international witch, is there anything you would like from the UK? (Or Australia, Belgium, France any other country we have witches from. Cosmetics (especially nail polish) that aren't available in the US, local things that are mailable.. Someone in the thread mentioned paprika pringles and I do miss those.. and a good chunk of what I could find on the chocolate aisle of any Italian grocery store. Dear witchee, if you answered 'Mac' to the Mac/PC question previously issued by another participant, please tell me what kind of computer you have, what peripherals you own (like the wireless trackpad, wireless vs/wired keyboard and mouse), and whether you're interested in Apple-related items (stickers, keychains, other things with the logo, etc). Answered in thread, but my macbook has a non-apple mouse, and my iMac has a Magic Mouse w/rechargeable batteries, and the wired keyboard with the number pad. And I'm open to Apple-logo themed items. SOCK PREFERENCES? I wear them? I like the look of over-the-knee socks, but I don't know if I could actually get any over my knees. Otherwise, I tend to steal my husband's white workout socks for padding around the house, I have a pair of fleece socks for wintertime, and I wear thinner socks in my dansko's (because thick socks won't fit) Would you like/wear a pair of these? http://www.ravelry.c...rary/yoga-socks If so, what color? I don't have anywhere to wear those to. Is there anyone here who likes toe socks? You know, those socks with a place for each toe? I do not like toe socks. === September 17th Are you looking for a certain kind of DVDs to spruce up your collection right now? My house is swimming in DVD's. There are probably things I'd go for, but for all I know we have a copy in my husband's huuuuuge and disorganized dvd collection. Does anyone like postcards? I like postcards. Anyone going to see any good concerts this fall? Not I. Do you like Star Trek? Original TV series, films, spinoff series, etc? Favorite characters? Nope. Witchee, would you like a framed photograph and of what? I am definitely open to a framed photograph, but my taste in art is eclectic so just picking one thing is hard. == September 16th Are you more prone to order out or cook at home? Would you be interested in cookbooks, kitchen utensils, and the like? If so, anything specific? I cook. It's cheaper and healthier than eating out. There are some cookbooks on my amazon wishlist - I'm set on basic cookbooks but I'd love more specialty cookbooks. (and not e-books - my nook isn't allowed in the kitchen) I can always use more silicone scrapers/spatulas (like the ones in this set - I don't need/want the set, btw - I prefer ones that don't have wooden handles) and measuring spoons and cups. Could use a new silicone basting brush as mine dissapeared a move or two ago. Flexible cutting boards - I had some, but they were a few years old and just got to the point where they never looked clean anymore (and since I cut things like chicken on them, they got tossed). In general, I follow Alton Brown's guidelines to kitchen gadgets - it has to be useful for more than just one task (with the exception of a fire extinguisher) - so if you find something cool that I can use for more than one thing, I'll very likely like it. New question: How do you feel about maple syrup? Love the real stuff, the fake stuff can go DIAF. How do people feel about little pocket shrines, maybe something inspirational/motivational to keep in their purses/backpacks/whatever? (Like these: http://www.art-shrin...cketshrines.htm) Those are really nice looking! Do you like Star Wars? Original Trilogy? Prequels? Spin-offs? Favorite characters? I like the original trilogy and the first of the prequels. I still haven't seen the third prequel, and I haven't bothered with any of the spin-offs, books, etc. Do you like beef jerkey, I know some may be vegatarian, but where I live beef is a staple and beef jerkey abounds. If so do you it really thin, hard and crunchy or thicker and softer. (OK that borders on obscene)- I don't, but my husband does. Also do you like or racier ecards from time to time and do you need to be warned if something may be not safe to open at work. Not really my thing. Doctor Who? Yay or nay? (please don't make me cry by saying nay) Not a fan. I have a couple spare Doctor Who stickers. If my witchee is a fan, would they like a couple Doctor Who stickers in their package? They'd be better going to someone else. Anyone love Buffy/Angel? Also not a fan. How would you feel about gummies? Like, gummy bears? Gummy werewolves? Gummy vampires? I like some gummies but most I'm just meh on. The ones I do like are some of the various European ones. How would you feel about a totally original Gela-skin for your laptop/iPod/phone? Stickers? Decals? I keep looking at Gela-Skins nook skins but I can never decide. Since this is a Halloween round, what's your Creepy threshold? Are you a cartoon bats and smily pumpkins person or a skulls-and-bones the-dead-are-rising kind of person? Are your fairytales dark or Disney? It's probably best to assume cutesy creepy with me - I enjoy darker stuff but I'm picky. How do you all feel about Whoopie Pies? They're okay. ish. === September 15th interested in anything from Lush? I ordered once a long time ago and wasn't super impressed with size/quality for what I paid, so no thanks. Do you blog? Would you like a header for your blog, a layout, etc? Not a blogger. Would you be interested in a handmade bookmark? I read mostly e-books these days, and when I read an actual book I tend to dog-ear the pages. do you like chex puppy chow or muddie buddies (ingredients: semi-sweet chocolate chips, PB, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, chex cereal)? would you want to get some from your witch / nacho witch? Sure How would you feel about receiving a Groupon deal for something in your local area? If there is anything you WOULDN'T like, mention that also. I mentioned this in the thread, but distance is an issue. I live in the most southern part of Colorado Springs (on Fort Carson itself) and parts of the Springs can be 40 minutes+ away and still be in Colorado Springs. It takes 5-10 minutes to really get into populated parts of towns, and for smaller things half an hour away isn't a big deal (feel free to pop my address into google maps to see how far I am away from some deals too!) As far as what sorts of deals I go for - mostly food or restuarants, although I have picked up some shopping ones if I think I can find either things for me/my house or as gifts for people for birthdays/Christmas. I haven't tried any of the massage ones, and I'm a little wary of the salon ones that they'd try to hit me with an extra fee for my hair being so long (which is part of why I'm probably going to hit up a beauty school for my next haircut.. $10 or so extra (if they charge extra) isn't as painful when the haircut is only $15 to begin with). I also don't need any for the time my husband will be here. I'm kind of more than set. Any of the dental ones are a no go, as are things for groups of people (save X off admissions for 4), things for kids, food ones that are too much for one person to pull off or eat, sports ones (I don't care about any of the local sports). do you like real sugar skulls? Things with sugar skull designs? They're pretty but not something I'm drawn to. Who here adores meringue? I like meringues, but they may be tricky to mail. == September 14th Can you sum yourself (whether it be personality, life's goals, ethics, whatever) in 10 words or less? Uh, no. How about little bottles of booze? Ya wanna? What kind? Little bottles of booze are good - I'm up for trying new things that way. What are your views on fudge and brownies? (Also, if you live in a warm place, where the fudge might melt, that'd be helpful to know. Or, if you're diabetic and fudge is death, that'd be useful to know, too.) Fudge and brownies are good. Here in CO, there's a decent chance it'll get warm again before winter really settles in, but I doubt we'll see 90 degrees again before next summer at this point. Also, what about mochi? Love it, hate it, baffled by it? Not sure what mochi is. Anything from the update ya'll are liking? BPTP UPDATE Candied Pumpkin could be amazing or insanely awful on my skin, and the hair glosses look nice but they're too $$ for my budget and I don't think I could go through a bottle in the 6 months of shelf life they have. Of all the glosses, I was most interested in honey and snake oil. (my other concern with the glosses is that they'll overpower my perfume.) Does anyone like kimchi? Not a fan. Would you be interested in a sample box(from somewhere like Birchbox or loosebutton)? I used to get Little Black Boxes and and few others and I liked them, but since developing a latex/shea sensitivity I don't cave to the temptation anymore. None of them seem customizable to the point where I can say "nothing with shea or latex" and be guaranteed that I'll actually get a box with neither of them in anything, and that there will be anything of interest in the box. (I was poking around Sephora's website a few weeks ago and found powdered eyeshadows with shea butter, and a few months ago when I was accumulating the odd set of false eyelashes, saw that there is latex in most of the adhesives). They're just too much of a gamble for me. (even the Julep ones, which are sooo tempting as a nail polish fiend - the site doesn't have ingredients listed for any of the hand care items, so who knows if I'd be able to use anything other than the polish they send in each box?). You have to place a Lab and Trading Post order. Right fuckin' now. No spending limits. What do you buy? From the Lab: Bottles of all the blends I've been meaning to get in bottles, WILF. From the Trading Post: Exotic Bazaar and Okiya atmosphere sprays, Alchemist's Local long-sleeve tee in probably a 2X, all of the massage oils, Robotic Scarab claw polish, and maybe the honey hair gloss. Paintbox Soapworks - anything you're interested in, in general or from the latest update? I don't know if I paid attention to the latest update, although I tend to toss stuff onto my etsy wishlist. I like Slip but it's definitely more of a summer-weight lotion, and I like the one Sorbetto I've used so far (both in Avast). Do you guys have any sports that you follow obsessively? How about favorite teams and/or athletes Not a sports person. How do you feel about notebooks/journals/stationery? Anything you need or particularly like? I don't need any, but I like them. Does confetti/glitter make you angry or fill you with glee? I like it on things or contained, but I don't like it loose. Fabulous witches and witchees, perhaps you all could note of you've received MeiLin's goodies? Or if you want? The only one I don't currently have (of the current offerings) is the one about the baby farmers. (Dalston Junction, I think?) How do you feel about stuffed animals/plushies/general soft, cuddly things? If you like them, what kind of animals would you be interested in? Small stuffed animals are better, as I need less space for them.. or stuffed Eeyores (I have two that I sleep with) how interested would you be on somewhat personalized bottle cap labels? Like these that I did? I could use labels, but I need to get all of my stash here in CO first. When you're miserably sick (*sniffle, cough!*) what are the things that comfort you the most? Ideally, tea and sleep and something to read. I have yet to work a job that gives me paid sick days, so I'm one of those people that went to work with swine flu (I worked at a Walmart at the time, and no I don't feel bad. I couldn't afford to take a week off work and not get paid.) What constitutes ultimate luxury to you? (go crazy!) Probably a really good massage. What do you really NOT want? Covered that in my questionnaire. == September 13th How would you feel about kitchen towels and other similar household objects, if they are pretty or a souvenir? I would love kitchen towels, but they will get used. The prettier ones I tend to use more for drying my hands or small things, but utilitarian ones get used for everything, including cleaning. How did you dress up for your last party or compulsory-formal-dress occasion? Not the best picture, but here's a shot from the military ball last March, black, long, floofy. By that point in the night I'd had zipper failure (it split) so I was using my wrap to hide the fact that I totally didn't wear evening-wear appropriate undies. Another ball is coming up this summer and I will need to find a dress for it (keeping the black floofy one, but need to lose a little weight, get the zipper fixed, and having a few things to bounce between since the military is fond of balls isn't a bad thing - I'm hoping to maybe score something on sale post-prom time.) Do you enjoy puzzles/riddles? (Cryptograms, Sudoku, Crossword, Jigsaw, etc) I really have to be in the mood for them. == September 12th Would you like to receive e-books? And if so, in what format? E-books are great, but unless you're getting ones that are DRM-free it's tricky to send or transfer them. If you have kids, would you be interested in getting things for them? And if so, what are they interested and what sizes are the wearing now? No kids. The wee one that can be seen on my FB profile is my nephew, and he's in NJ. Would you be interested in a felted handbag? Do any of these styles appeal to you? http://tinyurl.com/3o2epzl (there's at least one guy-friendly style, too!) These were the styles I liked best: 2, 3, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13 Are there are patterns, motifs, etc that you especially like? It really depends on the colors and intensity of any pattern. There are some paisleys I like, for instance, but there are *tons* that I don't because they're too busy or bright. It also depends on what they're on, and how much of the surface they're on. My couch almost has too much pattern for me (but it was $100 off craigslist and came with a coffee table and an end table, so I'm not bitching) so patterned throw pillows for it are a no, but if I ever get a comfy chair to go with it that's solid, a patterned pillow would be okay. Dunno if that makes sense. Witchee, would you be interested in having a special tea cup/coffee mug/glass to drink out of? I need to kill more mugs before I can get new mugs. I've killed a few recently, and I still don't have space for all of mine. If you're a tea drinker, is there any specific tea you would like to receive, not just the kind/flavor but also the type/packing--i.e., tea bags, loose tea, compressed, etc? Tea bags and loose tea is fine.. I'm not sure what to do with compressed tea. == September 11th I am fond of the thrift. Do you mind lightly used goods? Please be specific! I'd really only be squicked by something that is not super washable. Do you have an Etsy shop? Do you know of any Etsy shops that are Switch Witch friendly? No etsy shop. Would a gift or a postcard from Disneyland make you squee with delight or puke into your mail box? I love Eeyore and Maleficent, so I'd probably be closer to squee. what are your favorite types of Halloween candy? I'm partial to the Reese's Pumpkins, and the York Peppermint Patties that are shaped like pumpkins and orange inside. Do you prefer soap or shower gel? Please give examples of your favorite scents or brands. I prefer shower gel over soap. I think most all of my shower gel is from Bath & Body Works. Foodier blends are okay in shower gels, I also like the Vanilla Verbena from the aromatherapy line. How do you like your chocolate? For example with nuts, mint, peanut butter, caramel? The only thing I'm adverse to is chilis. I just can't do it. Beads! Do you use them? Would you want some? What sorts of beads do you like? I love beads, I'm always open to more, and I'm open to pretty much anything. (Vague, me?) Anyone here like caramels? Sea salted caramels?!?! I like caramels, but I've never had sea salt caramels. Would you like a hand dyed or hand painted scarf or wrap or other item? If so, what colors/designs/fabrics do you like? I don't know that I'd use a hand dyed scarf or wrap (they're just not clothing pieces I reach for pretty much ever), but something like a table runner with matching cloth napkins would be something that would see a bunch of use. This was a question before, but does anyone here like stones? Just pretty polished stones for use in whatever purposes? I love rocks. And another question; anyone like anything in particular from Think Geek? I toss the odd thing into my kaboodle list, but it's not a site I browse a lot. Pinterest, do you have boards you want to share or are you following anyone with great boards you want to share? I don't use this site. == September 10th What #1 actor, director, author and/or musician are you obsessed with? None? I'm not really into any one person or band or anything. are you interested in anything from the Villainness Bad Apples update? I think I tossed one of the candles on my Kaboodle list. I don't really need more candles, but some of them sounded yummy. If you have a pet, would he/she/they like to receive a treat or a toy as a gift? Does your pet have any dietary restrictions or other preferences w.r.t. said treat? Regarding toys: If you send any, there must be two, because otherwise the one that doesn't have the shiny new toy gives me the Puss N Boots eyes of patheticness and generally makes me feel all guilty. Treats: My housemonsters are totally not picky. If its for cats, they will eat them. And I'll give SW treats out randomly, unlike regular treats which get used as rewards for not mauling me when I trim their claws. What are your top three "I want to try them but I think I'll never get to try them" (or, "I've tried them and I want moar moar moar, but I don't think I'll ever get any") scents/bath oils/sprays? Bakeneko is something I've tried but I doubt I'll ever be able to get more of.. In terms of things I think I'll likely never get to try.. Exotic Market and Okiya Room Sprays. Is there a particular artist and piece that you would like a print of? If so, what is your max size that you could spare on your walls? I have some huge huge spaces on some of my walls, but they're cinder block so I'm not entirely sure how to hang much of anything on them. (aside from buying my own power drill and getting a masonry bit.. which is probably not a bad thing to have anyways. I have a bit of an eclectic taste in art, so there's currently nothing specific I really want, but my etsy should have ideas for the types of things I tend to go for. (the gigantic space I have in my living room and dining room I was contemplating doing my own vinyl clings with contact paper, but I'm still mulling over potential designs) If you are in to beauty and makeup related stuff, what kind of stuff do you like? What is your skintone and hair color? Are there any beauty products you've wanted to try but just never purchase? Skintone is pale, freckles, sensitive. Hair is red. Loose mineral eyeshadow scares me (I like the baked ones - I have a couple) - how do you use them without making an absolute mess? Do you like coffee or tea? Would you be interested in trying some different types? I do drink both but I'm currently very well stocked on coffee and need to drink down my stash before I buy more. My tea stash could use fluffing though - I can do bagged or loose, and I prefer black and red teas, but I'll drink white and green as long as there's something going on that isn't just white or green tea. Flavored teas are fine, and I could use some sort of decaf dessert tea for night time when I want a cup but don't want the caffeine. I don't really like herbal teas/tisanes. Are there any CDs/Albums you've been wanting but haven't bought yet? What format do you prefer? (i.e. mp3, actual cd, record, etc) Format-wise, I prefer cd or mp3.. but I use Spotify so anytime I want a new album or song I can just find it in their database and plop it into one of my playlists. Are you going away for any part of this round? October 8-10 I'll be up in Denver but I should have limited internet. My husband will be home for two weeks on his R&R starting roughly September 29th so I will likely not be around a whole lot those two weeks, but with the exception of that weekend I'll be near the mailbox (and even if something is delivered Saturday, October 8th - if its small it'll wait in my locked mailbox, and if it's bigger a package key will wait in my locked mailbox and the box will wait in one of the locked package boxes - so there's no fear of neighbor's making off with it or it getting soaked. I just wouldn't send anything that can melt. Would you like to receive a mix-CD from your Witch? Sure! If your witch were going somewhere on a vacation during the round, would you want a little souvenir? If they find something she or he thinks I would like, sure! Do you enjoy any outdoor activities? Do you have a favorite form of "exercise"? I'm in a prime area for outdoor activities and I just haven't gotten into any. I'll probably hunt out whichever gym on post has the style of stationary bike I like (and which one has the free yoga classes) because I really need to start exercising. Any witchee's with a ravelry account have any favourited patterns that cost money that would be a welcome gift? Not I. Do you work/study at a desk and enjoy interesting or cute office supplies? I'll always take nice pens, but I don't really need anything else. Witchee, are you a fan of musicals? If so, which ones? Most recently I've seen The Book of Mormon, which was awesome.. I've also seen and loved Rent, The Lion King, Phantom, Ragtime.. and probably a couple more that I'm blanking on. I also love the music for Les Miserables, but I haven't seen it. === September 9th Do you like to burn incense? If so, what are your favorite kinds...sticks? cones? resins? What are your favorite scents? No incense, please - it makes me sick. - Harry Potter - a fan? If so, what house are you? I'm not a hard-core fan anymore, but I've read all the books. Haven't seen either of the Deathly Hallows movies, but I know how it ends so I'm not in a rush. I'm generally always sorted a Gryffindor, but I have strong Ravenclaw leanings too. - If you were to receive a gift card, what places would you like to get one from? Sally Beauty, Bath & Body Works, Starbucks, Chilis, Groupon/Living Social (currently Living Social's been getting more deals that I'm into, but they tend to go back and forth there), Barnes & Noble, Fashion Bug.. Is there a particular myth/folktale/legend/fairytale/godstory that you're drawn to? Not so much a particular one, but I'd really like to read more Egyptian myths If you RP, tabletop, forum, or otherwise... Do you have any original characters you'd like to see art of? If so, please give information! Even if it's a link to a web page or a profile or picture! Other than Guild Wars, I don't do any sort of RP thing. If you could see anything, what would it be? Can be a person, an event, a landmark or monument, an object, etc. And it doesn't have to be on this planet, or in this time period, or in this reality! Probably to go back to ancient Egypt to see a festival of Bast first hand. When you are having a really rough day, what do you like to do/have to make it a little brighter? Bake something totally bad for me (brownies or whatnot) and kill things in Guild Wars. What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? I'm not really into comics. Are you musical? Do you play an instrument, and if so, what? If not, what do you wish you could play or do? I used to play clarinet badly, but not in a long time. Does anyone garden? And if you do, what do you grow? If not, would a starter garden kit be something you'd be interested in? I was hoping to garden this past summer, but my garden plot was never ready. We're going into the snow season here in CO, so starter garden stuff wouldn't get used for awhile. Do you decorate for Halloween? Is your decorating taste elegant, kitschy and fun, or scary? I don't have any Halloween decorations and since I don't have anywhere to store them I don't really want any. There is a notable exception: Table Linens. One of things I miss about not living at home is my mom's seasonal table cloths - I currently have a couple different things for Christmas and some generic ones that can be used year round, but that's it, and I wouldn't mind Halloween/Fall/Harvest/Thanksgiving themed linens. I can use tablecloths, place mats, table runners or cloth napkins, although I can't fit place mats and table runners on together. Witchee, do you have any symbols or totems that have special meaning for you? Lotus flowers have popped up too much in my life for me to ignore them Is anyone fond of programs like Adopt a Tree/Highway/Library/Manatee/Acre of Rainforest/etc?: I'm a little picky in that I want to make sure my donation actually goes to the cause for the most part. === September 8 From the Weenie Update....what are you most wanting to try? These will get entered into my wishlist on Scentbase, but I'll write out my concerns with each just to give a better sense of my wacky skin chemistry. -The Gorobble - I really just want to see what this smells like. I love that Beth can make a perfume that smells like marshmallows or cupcakes or cheesecake, but I don't generally want to smell like marshmallows or cupcakes or cheescake. -Autumn Cider - The lemon zest may very well take the whole thing to cleaning solution (yum, not), but the booze is the bigger concern. Fermented apple juice could be awesome, or it could be apple juice you find at the back of the fridge six months past its expiration and it smells.. unhealthy, and butterscotch can either work or make me smell like I was in an unfortunate accident at a candy shop. -Pumpkin Princess - Some of the lab's honey notes work well on me, and some really, really don't. The vanilla fluff, tiare, and meringue could also be problematic. -Regina Erebi - Myrrh can be a bit iffy. Also not sure if I'd actually like the combination of those notes. -The Golden Apple of the Sun - Three florals, at least two of which haven't liked my skin in the past. -The Green Apple of Venus - Two florals and violet leaf (violet anything tends to turn to baby powder on me) and the lab's strawberry note doesn't always like me. I'm also super interested in Ameles Potamos, but it's GC so I have time there. I've loved some of the lab's other dark water scents so hopefully this will be a winner. Who's into nail polish? What colors/brands? I went into this a bit in my questionnaire, but the brands I currently have are China Glaze, Zoya, Fingerpaints, and a handful of others (I worked at a Sally Beauty Supply for six months and I think my collection doubled). Still no word on the job that wouldn't let me wear nail polish (training starts Sept 12, so I'll know soon). Colorwise: I have mostly blues and greens, with purples coming in third. I'm getting pickier with greens and blues, if only because I've kinda bought the same blue a couple times now, and I have a couple greens that are super similar. Pink and red polishes have to have something special to them, and the only nude I have changes color in the sunlight. Is there a quote (or lyric or part of a poem) that really resonates with you or is your favorite? My favorite poem is Robert Frost's The Road Not Taken. Dream candle? Scent, color, type (tealight, votive, pillar, jar, etc.), throw... Dream candle would be tarts. Color doesn't matter. Scent.. Patchouli with vanilla and a good chocolate would be awesome. Do you like knitted goodies? If so, what would you like and what colors? I would love knitted goodies. I could really use a scarf or a new hat (has to cover my ears) or socks. Colors - Jewel-toned blues, greens, purples, and reds are favorites, along with most any shade of pink. One important thing to note is that I'm allergic to wool - my beloved wool hat that my husband shrunk last year had a fleece lining all along the spots that would touch my skin, otherwise I break out in a rash. Would you be interested in homemade edibles that are NOT sweets? Any specifics? I not fond of things that are super spicy or hot for the sake of being hot, but anything else is fair game. What GC do you live in mortal terror of the lab discontinuing, but never get around to buying? Until recently, it was Death Adder, and that was a second bottle (which I never got, but I'm hopeful it comes back!). Of current GC's - probably Snake Oil and Bastet. And Black Phoenix. Yo, yarnies! Do you Ravelry? If so, who are you over thar? I have a ravelry account, but I never use it. I think I joined in the hopes that it would get me more into knitting, but no go. I should probably try crochet. Do you have wishlists for non-BPAL e-tailers? And if so, could you provide a link or a list? All of my wishlists (scentbase, amazon, etsy, kaboodle) are linked from the "Wishies" in my sig. Witchee, do you use a PC or a Mac? I have an iMac and a Macbook Pro, but my husband has Windows. What is your favorite animal? Cats, both domestic and big cats, dragonflies, hummingbirds, magpies. What are you going to be for Halloween? A hermit? Halloween is a Monday, my husband is deployed, I don't have kids, and the doorbell freaks my cats out. If you could have a piece of oil painting jewelry (pendant, pair of earrings, or ring) with absolutely anything painted on it, what would it be? (If you prefer wall art instead, same question as above.) I'd prefer either a pendant or wall art.. and uh.. surprise me? How do you feel about nick-knacks? If it serves a purpose, great, otherwise no thanks. I don't have much display space currently, and I have two destructo-cats. I really think things over when something falls sort of near knick-knack range. My questions are "where will I put it/what will I do with it?" "Where will I store it?" (if its seasonal) and "Is this something I'm going to want to pack up and move multiple times?" and if I can't think of acceptable answers, I don't get it. An example: I had the opportunity to send a flag to Afghanistan to get flown over my husband's FOB on 9/11 and I seriously considered it but in the end, I had no idea what I'd do with the damn thing, which means it would move from place to place with us and just be stored in a closet, which seemed like a waste, so I didn't send a flag over. What traditions (family, holiday, or otherwise) are important to you? Do you like going to the movies? It's not something I do often. What are your favorite restaurants? Chili's, Panera, Chipotle, Outback Steakhouse, Fridays (although the closest one isn't really close), Starbucks, Chick-fil-a, and a bunch of local places Do you play any video games? I play Guild Wars a lot (I use a program called Crossover to run it on my Mac, even!) and I've been meaning to restart Twilight Princess on the Wii. Do you like any anime? I don't mind anime, but I'm not really familiar with any of it. Do you have an E-reader/iPad/something similar that you need a cover/case for? I have a Nook (the original b&w one) and two cases. One is a sleeve that zips close, and the other has a flap and just covers the front and back.. and there's things I like about each case and things I don't like about each case. how much do you like jewelry? like, if you were to get a shit ton of it during the round, how excited would you be? I do like jewelry, but I'm out of the habit of wearing it often. I go more for pendants/necklaces and bracelets. How would you like to receive some of your Witch's favorite recipes, tailored to your likes/dietary restrictions? And specific wants? I'm always game for new recipes! Do you need any boxes to store your smellies in? What would you store in said hypothetical box--imps, bottles, supplies, all of the above? I could use a bottle box. Muppets: yea or nay? I like the Muppets. I love the old Muppet Shows, and my two favorite of the movies are "Muppets take Manhattan" and the one where they all descend on Fozzie's Mom for Christmas. Do you have an affinity for Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, The Far Side, and other comic strips? If so, which is your favorite? I'm out of the habit of reading comic strips regularly, but I do like The Far Side, Fuzzy Logic, and Pearls Before Swine. Favorite Mythological Creature?: Fairies or unicorns Do you like hair things barrettes, headbands, flowers Barrettes yes, although some are better with my hair than others (I have two of the no-slip variety, one from Goody and one from Scunci, and one stays in my hair for hours and I have to fight the clip out of my hair, and the other slides out rather fast.. and I have a third that doesn't have the extra plastic to grip with and it has pretty decent hold. I like headbands, but a lot of them don't work for me. I have one that I bought while I worked at a Sally Beauty Supply and I love it and wear it all the time (it's a gold-toned band with a cluster of rhinestones that looks like either a snowflake or flower), but I have another one by the same company that gives me a headache after a few hours. I don't like the ones with little plastic teeth, and cloth ones (even the no-slip styles) tend to slide off the back of my head. Expanding on the hair question - does anyone like those flower clips for the hair that are big right now?? If they're on a headband or bigger barrette, sure.. but my hair tends to not play well with more decorative clips.

In the imp: Fruity! Wet: Fruit with a hint of booze After a few minutes: Fruity with a bit of.. soap? More skin time: Fruity soap. Juniper, which is a part of gin, doesn't play well with my skin and that's where I think the issue is. Well, that and everything else should work really well on my skin. It's even giving me sort of a soap-taste in my mouth. Blech.
-
In the imp - sugary citrus Wet - Tart pink grapefruit, lime A few minutes on - I caught a whiff of cleaning fluid (bad grapefruit). Teeny tiny hint of something herbal. And now, I'm having to really press my nose against my wrist to smell any of this. The cleaning fluid is gone (yay!) but it's very faint. Getting more green and less citrus, too. A little strange on my skin, for sure.

Wishlist info: ScentBase Kaboodle Etsy New questions up top: March 25 Are you interested in trying Super Villainess (from Villainess - the birthday scent that was just released tonight!) and if so, which item do you like the most? (Soap, Whipped, Smooch, Extrait, Smack...) I'm not the biggest leather fan - it's not really pleasant on my skin. If I were to order you a Smack, which four notes would you like? My one and only Smack was Peach, Coconut Milk, Chocolate, and Cherries (that was the layered order - I'm not sure it would have worked in any other way). I liked it but it was a bit too drying. Would you enjoy receiving a knitted gift from your witch? If so what would you be interested in (scarf, hat, wrist / handwarmers, socks, etc.) and in what colors? Even though we're heading out of winter, I could use a scarf or hat. I don't wear wrist or handwarmers.. but I could go for socks too! March 23 Easter Candy - do you like it? If so, what types? I'll eat most any Easter candy except for Peeps and "chocolate flavored" things. What scent(s) are you petrified of getting DC'd? The only scent that I'm worried about is Nocturne Alchemy's Eternal Aswan (and NA hasn't had to DC anything that I'm aware of). There are BPAL blends I'd be sad to not be able to get more of, but as most of my favorites are LE's I always assume they won't come back - its safer. March 22 Violette Market Update is up. Do you covet anything from it? I haven't tried anything of theirs. What is your favorite type of wine? Would you be interested in trying something new? In that case, is there anything you really DONT like? Ooooo how about dessert wines? I like some reds and several whites. I don't care for champagne. Dessert wines can be tasty too. March 21 What three things are you craving right now? More sleep (I was woken earlier than I wanted to be up by loopy cats), coffee, and waffles. Coffee and waffles are downstairs. paper goods, anyone need? including resume paper, and formal stationery as well as casual cards. I could use more blank cards - my current box is dwindling. What is a scent that you've been trying to find even a sample of for a very long time to no avail? (What bottle would you die to get your hands on - even a partial?) I have been either lucky or around a long enough time to try most everything rare that I've been interested in. Although this past year there were a ton of blends released that I was interested in but had no funds for. Is there anything in your life that you'd like advice or a "selfhelp" book for?: (ie finances, eating healthier, meal planning) Maybe meal planning? -- Baked Goods? Yea Nay? I am open to baked goods. If not Baked goods and you are changing eating habits..a book of recipes perhaps that will help the new eating lifestyle? I'm also always open to recipes, especially tasty things that can be cheap. Bonus points if I can toss it in my crockpot before I go to work. What would I order TODAY from BPAL? Assuming an unlimited budget, from BPAL: Milk Chocolate, Raw Ginger, and Butterscotch; White Chocolate, Mango, and Buttercream; Screeching Parrot; War; and another bottle of Death Adder even though I have an untouched, aged, full bottle BPTP: The magnets (I used to have two, but they disappeared a few moves ago *pout*) What level of nudity? In written form, I'm game for pretty much anything, in pictures (especially things that would be displayed somehow) tasteful sexiness is better, although I'm not adverse to porn. gently used items from a garage sale/thrift store? As long as they're clean and something I would use. Do you like cooking seasonings, like the kind you can get in ounces sizes? If so, things you'd love to try out? I live near a Penzey's Spices and a Savory Spice Shop - I'll have to put the blends my husband always talks me out of on my kaboodle list (likely in the get cooking list) - spices from other shops are fine with me too! Do you like any particular kinds of green or black teas or coffees that could also be gotten in bulk? I love tea (and coffee, but I'm good on that from the coffee swap this past winter) but I lean a bit more towards flavored tea blends than standard teas so I don't know out easy they'd be to get in bulk. Favorite snack foods (and can they be from bulk section as well?) All sorts of things I probably shouldn't eat. -- how about mix CDs? I'm game. Hey, how do folks feel about little e-goodies, like links to stuff your witchee likes? (articles online, pix, fic, etc) Sure! Tim Tams? Yes or no? Chocolate Creme, Caramel, or Dark Chocolate? I will eat any/all of them, but I like the caramel ones the best. Is there any "classic" literature (Hemingway, Dickens, Elliot, Bronte, Hugo, Wilde, etc.) that you would like to add to your collection? Not really. candles and/or aroma melts: yay or nay? I have too many of both at the moment. Must burn/melt before I buy more. Also, no incense as it makes me sick. Astrological charts and interpretation/ reports? I'm sloooooooowly learning how to read astrological charts, but I'm always up to having it read by someone else. Birth date info is 28 August 1980, Glen Ridge, NJ So how does everyone feel about receiving ebooks? I <3 ebooks, as long as I can get them on my Nook (so, .epub or .pdf.. maybe .doc?) -- surprise! the world has given you the day off. You hear that, no chores, responsibilities, or budget you have to follow. What would you do in those 24 hours? Fly to Paris (and arrive in a few hours), see the Egyptian Wing at the Louvre, go shopping for all the home deco things I always look at in the French department stores but never have space in my luggage for, and eat fabulous food. Do you have any blogs you regularly read? fabfree.wordpress.com, kawaiinot.com thereifixedit.com and thatwillbuffout.com if I need a giggle, and I off and on follow Girl Genius and MeiLin's Scryer's Gulch Do you need another bpal box? If so what would your fantasy one look like? Just after the round is over, I will be reunited with my bpal stash.. so while I don't currently need a box I will soon. Doubly so for imps, as they currently live in baggies in a cosmetic bag my cosmetics outgrew. Do you enjoy gardening? If so, what kind of stuff do you grow? Vegetables, flowers? I want to try gardening this summer - I'll likely be doing container gardens with veggies and salad greens. favourite artists or specific paintings? I love most of the Impressionists (especially Monet and especially the water lilies), also Picasso and Dali, Egyption Art -- Booze? Yay or Nay? what kinds? I'm not a big beer or wine person. I'm interested in mead. I love hard cider. Otherwise, at home I mostly just have Baileys on rocks, and if I'm out I have a fruity girlie drink. Steampunk inspired items? Yay or nay? I love the aesthetic but I don't know that I'd ever wear anything steampunk. Do you like amurigami dolls? They're cute but my cats would steal them. Pirates vs Ninjas vs Zombies - who wins? Which do you love most? If I had to pick.. Ninjas. Although sometimes maybe Pirates. Zombies are not my thing, and actually give me nightmares. Do you like wearing things in your hair? If so, what kind (snap clips, scrunchie, headband, etc), how big & crazy (lowkey, bigger the better), and colors. The only way to function is to use something to hold my long hair back somehow. I've been using headbands (which can be fancy - I currently wear this one a lot) and barrettes (which can be fairly fancy). I really need ways to get my hair off my neck in ways that are prettier than a ponytail, as its starting to get too warm to always wear my hair down. My hair doesn't tend to play nice with bobby pins - the plain ones get rendered unusable after one wear and the pretty ones do helpful things like flip themselves over. I do have a formal military event that I'm going to March 31st and I'll have to do something to my hair so it's formal looking, so I'll be looking for fancier hair things or things that will hold evil psycho hair together for hours.. or both, for that. Piercings? - ears?? - elsewhere? No piercings Chocolate. With stuff in it? Are you more a plain chocolate lover, a chocolate and normal items lover (normal items being nuts, fruit, caramel) or do you like weird stuff in your chocolate? (weird stuff being curry, chilis, balsamic vinegar, floraly things) Not a super huge fan of dark chocolate (I like it in some forms) and I rather like white chocolate. I don't care for fruit in my chocolate and the only berry I really go for in chocolate are raspberries - but anything else would be fair game. -- For those who like lipgloss, lipstick, tinted balms, etc, what colors do you wear (and warm? cool?) and do you prefer something sheer or more opaque? How do you feel about shimmer? I answered this in the thread, but I wear a lot of glosses. I prefer reds and pinks and some purples, sheer to opaque, generally shimmer-y. I don't own any mattes except for a handful of lipsticks. Are there any fancy/gourmet/special herbs or spices that you'd love to receive? ie: good quality vanilla or other extracts, vanilla beans, saffron, lavender, etc. Also answered in the thread - but I always talk myself down from whole vanilla beans and saffron. What's your favorite animal? Or is there one that's particularly significant to you? Hm, favorite? Snow Leopard, other big cats, dragonflies, hummingbirds If you were able to get a vintage or prototype bottle from the upcoming West Coast Will Call, which one would you want? Nothing really grabs me, but I don't know what the deal is with the ones that are just some random letters. DVDs, Blu-Ray, both, neither? Technically both, but the blu-ray is in my husband's "man cave" so I'm not in there very often. Sock Dreams? What kind? (anklets, footies, etc.?) I've looked at the site but never ordered. It just seems like a lot of money to spend on socks when it feels like your washing machine is a sock eating vortex. Since this is a price capped round, would you rather get one "big" thing or lots of "little" things or don't care? It does not matter to me. Do you like pirate-related things? Eh. Not particularly. Soaps? Be specific: if there are BPAL soaps you want to try or are dying for more of, tell all here! Also, any other companies people like or love? Villainess, maybe? Or Lush? What flavors??? It takes me *forever* to use up bar soap. I have four bars in my stockpile, and that's enough to keep me in soap for at least the next year. What periods of art do you love most? Like, if someone was going to get you a tapestry or a box or some other item, what period would you want it to most resonate with? the pinks and golds of Rococo? the clean geometry of Art Deco? The romanticism of Art Nouveux? The strange lines of Cubism? I love impressionism and some Art Deco (especially Parisian Art Deco, like some of the older Metro signs) Would you like caffeinated lollipops?: http://www.lollyphil...cks-caffeinated I love Lollyphile's Irish Cream lollypop's, and I've also had the White Russian and old style Maple Bacon ones. I didn't care for the Maple Bacon and I'm not super interested in the new form (using bacon salt) and there are other flavors I'd rather try over the caffeinated ones. Copied CD's or DVD's? Sure! I'm going to Disneyland in a couple of weeks, is there anything I can get you? Anything Eeyore. -- Would you want an invite to a site that is invite-only ex. Diaspora, Demonoid, etc. If so, what? Not sure what those sites are for. Pillows? What size/designs/colors would most interest you? I could use decorative pillows for my couches - they're navy blue with red and cream accents and I think garnet colored pillows would look sharp, but my husband always wants blend-in-with-the-couch-blue. purses? bags? What style/colors? I could maybe probably use a new purse, but purses that work for me are hard to find. They have to have either a zipper or a flap (and the flap has to be well secured by something stronger than a magnetic snap), it needs to be big enough to hold my Nook+case, but not too big because otherwise I will fill with crap and make it way too heavy and hurt myself walking around with it on my shoulder. A cross-body strap is bonus points. Decorative scarves for hair and/or creative accessorizing? What colors? Scarves aren't something I wear. I always feel dorky in them. Would you like anything from Starring Fragrances. They make awesome hair stuff, natural deoderant, and home fragrance (and a ton of other stuff, those are just my favs)? I've looked at them in the past, but I always talk myself out of the perfumes, and a lot of the bath/hair/body stuff has shea butter in them so I can't use them. -- Do you like poetry? I don't hate poetry, it's just not something I read very often. What types of scents do you like to scent your home? Which do you totally avoid? I usually lean towards baked goods/fruity/aquatic scents, and I stay away from incense or patchouli or other heavier scents. What are your thoughts on comics? Any you like? Any you have been wanting to try? Favorite characters? I'm not really into comics. How do you feel about nail polish? What colors do you like? Sparkles? I blathered on about my nail polish habit in the thread. Household/kitchen goods/gadgets? I can always use more silicone spatula/scraper things, measuring cups and spoons, and dish towels. Ok geek check - what sort of geeky things do you do? Do you read comics/graphic novels? Are you obsessed with something (a TV show maybe?) Do you work in a geeky field? Do you play rpgs like Dungeons and Dragons? Would you like gifts related to any of these? The only geek-y thing I do these days is play Guild Wars. There's a Guild Wars related novel (that takes place sometime between the current games and when Guild Wars 2 will take place) that I wouldn't mind reading.. but otherwise I'm not sure what all there is to give that's outside of the game and doesn't require a game account to get. Do you have a favorite fabric? If someone were to make you a fabric item, would you prefer it be out of any fabric? e.g. velvet, satin, silk, cotton, bamboo??? Would this change if it were an article of clothing vs. a bag/pillow/blanket/somethingelse I'm not super fond of taffeta or spandex or anything else that's very synthetic (except for polar fleece - <3 that stuff) but otherwise I love fabric. Anything with the Worm Moon update that you're already lusting after? I'm kind of interested in Lord Teishin with a Demon Behind a Screen but it's not a must-have.

In the bottle: Winey, almost. Wet: Red, spices (more like mulling spices). After a few minutes: Not sure where the wine went (not really a problem).. it's shifting into a vaguely fruity cider. Can sniff a bit of pine in the background. It really is like Christmas in a wee little bottle. Although.. after sitting for a fair bit of time on my wrist, it's settling into just about all cinnamon, with a little bit of pine. Rats.
-
In the bottle, this is floral, but kinda dusty. I can definitely pick up the vetiver, as well. Wet, it's strongly vetiver, florals in the background. After a few minutes on, this is.. medicinal? Metallic, almost. Fifteen minutes or so - delicate florals with.. metallic notes, almost like hair dye. After half an hour or so.. it's faded a lot but still floral with a side of unpleasant. And a little bit of spice. Every so often I get a whiff of something promising, usually followed swiftly by something a lot like hair dye. Such potential, such silly skin.

If you like ____ BPAL, then you'll like this product!
crazyredhead17 replied to tart's topic in Recommendations
I've found Pacifica stuff at Sephora (although Spanish Amber isn't listed on the website). You can also find it (and the scent in other forms, and lots of other scents) on Pacifica's webpage here. -
Winter Shotgun Round Questions and Answers

Your view of Valentine's Day? It's there? Its also two weeks after my husband's birthday and not *that* much before our anniversary in April, and I'd rather go all out for our wedding anniversary than some silly made up holiday. Do you like traditional Valentine's Day colors (red, pink, white, more?) ? Love pink, um.. all the time? Otherwise I just love color! A Favorite love poem? While I have many favorite poems (Robert Frost is a favorite) none of them are love poems. Turkish delight? I can't remember if I've tried it and not like it or if I've just been underwhelmed by the concept of it. What's everyone's favorite semi-obscure (or underappreciated!) animal? One of my favorite exhibits at the Bronx Zoo is the Mouse House, which is full of furry underappreciated animals. I don't know that I could pick a favorite! What is your favorite sign that spring is coming? I'd say no more snow, but it snows through April here. When I'm at home, it's the crocuses starting to poke through the ground.. but here it's hard to see plants starting to spring forth. Are you a big Mardi Gras fan? What's your favorite part? I do like Mardi Gras/Carnivale - I have more memories of doing Mardi Gras stuff in high school than I do Valentines Day stuff! Although I don't know that I could pick a favorite part.. (notice a theme yet?) I have been knitting a lot lately, would something hand knit be nice for you? Hand knit is very nice, but no wool, please! I could definitely use a scarf, as I have a hat and mittens, and white or navy arm warmers would work at work (which is the only place I can see me use them). And actually, a second hat might not be bad, as long as it'll cover my ears. Would anyone like receiving naughty/sexy things? I am okay with receiving naughty/sexy things.. not so much games, but the husband and I are dabbling a bit in kinkier things. And stuff that's just for me is fine too - just no latex or natural rubber, as I'm allergic. who on the thread likes attending Ren Faires, SciFi/Comic Cons & the like? And do you dress up for them? I haven't attended any of these, but I'd love to go sometime! Do you need any accessories for your phone, computer, mp3 player, &c.? I could use a case for my ipod shuffle (not the current generation, the one before it), and a case for my Nook (but those are still a bit out of the budget, so don't worry about it, witch!) Used books/cds/dvds, etc? They're all fine with me! For those of you with pets, would you like pet things? Toys, treats, etc? My questionnaire said I have two cats, but we had to put one to sleep last week so Luna, the one left, is a bit depressed that her semi-buddy isn't coming back. Toys, catnip or otherwise, are good, and we're good on treats at the moment. Interested in receiving gifts representative of Witch's country or culture? Sure! First five songs on the "Top 25 Most Played" list on iPod I think I mentioned this in the thread, but my computer with my music is currently.. not working so my new computer has only a limited number of songs, and I'm missing a lot of favorites. If you're a WoW player, do you have the Pandaren Monk and Lil' KT pets? Would you want them? No WoW here. would you be interested in getting a mix CD from your witch? Sure, but it'll get burned into iTunes anyways so mp3's are just as good. What's your favourite candy? I don't know that I can pick a favorite? Think Geek plush microbes? There are probably some somewhere in my kaboodle list. I love the Mad Cow one. What about handmade sewn gifts? Any fabrics you wish to/need to avoid due to allergies, etc? Wool is bad, otherwise it's all good. Kitchen gadgetry? Probably? I tend to put that sort of thing into kaboodle. Nail polish? My nails are pretty much always polished. There's a bunch in my kaboodle list - but the ones I found on amazon can often be found for less at less kaboodle-friendly sites. Do you like incense and/or scented candles, and are you able to burn them in your home? If so, what kinds of scents do you like? Incense makes me sick, but scented candles and tarts are okay. That said, I have a crap ton of both that I need to burn through first! Boxes? For Bpal (bottles and/or imps) or otherwise yes! I could definitely use a new bottle box, and I have no real imp storage. And I'm sure I could find a use for a different size or shaped box, as well. Would you use a natural sea sponge? Probably not? I only really use sponges for cleaning these days. Are you interested in bacon chocolate? Kind of. I have tried Lolliphile's Maple Bacon lollipops, and they were.. a little strange. So I'm still intrigued by the Chocolate + Bacon, but the smallest size bar might be the best way to go. Coffee, hot chocolate, or tea? I drink all three. I'm currently drinking more coffee due to having a K-cup machine, so k-cups are welcome (albeit pricey), but we also have the My K-Cup that lets you use any coffee as long as it's ground coarse (I usually do infusion grind since I do still use my French Press). I love hot chocolate- as I type this I'm drinking some Mexican hot chocolate that my witch from last round sent me (the sort that goes into hot milk) and I love all sorts of flavors of hot chocolate. Tea - I can do loose or bagged. I drink mostly black teas, but I love green and red teas as well. I don't care for most herbal teas, and I'd love to try honeybush. Would you like some of my favorite recipes? Sure! I don't eat beef or most shellfish, but anything else is game! Would you like posters, pictures, art? I don't really have space for posters, but pictures and art are always welcome. I've got stuff I like on my etsy list. Would you like soaps? Especially from Paintbox? And ESPECIALLY the Valentines Special Edition Soaps?? I could use some soap, and while I'm curious about Paintbox's soaps, I'm really more of a cold process soap person. New question--I'm calling this "could never happen in a million years": Your Witch is perusing the wares at a local yard sale. S/he looks down and sees [insert impossibly rare item that you've always wanted but could never afford] with a $5-10 sticker on it. Sheepishly s/he takes it to the guy behind the folding table. "Do you know what this is?" s/he inquires. The gentleman states that it belonged to his mother/sister/grandmother/Great Aunt Beulah and he thinks it's for, like, hair or something. With a trembling hand, s/hes pays the man and heads home with the inconceivable riches. So, what is this unobtainable miracle your Witch found? I've been thinking about this one for a couple days - either a vintage letterpressing set, or vintage (or reproduction) French advertisement prints involving cats (I have this one already) Do you like salted caramels? I've never tried them. Imagine that someone hands you their wallet and sends you into a really good bakery. They have everything, from breads to brownies, cookies to croissants, anything you could imagine, and you're allowed to pick out five things for yourself. What do you pick? Probably a really fancy cupcake and four German pretzel rolls. Although that might change once I'm actually in there. It gets asked every round but sockdreams? Socks are good. Do you like alcoholic beverages? If so, what is your preference (beer, wine, liquor...)? I drink some wine, but the husband is uber picky, so I don't drink it often. I do like hard cider, and while I go for all sorts of fruity girlie drinks when out, my staple drink at home is Bailey's on rocks. (My husband's standard everywhere is a White Russian, and our roommate is partial to Screwdrivers - our liquor cabinet consists solely of Kahlua, Bailey's, and Grey Goose vodka ) Are you into steampunk? I love the aesthetic but I don't know that I would wear anything steampunkish. But I'm interested in the art and other more home-y aspects of steampunk. Although I could totally rock a steampunk themed purse. Would you like or accept an energetically-charged item or gift? Something that had power poured into it? If so, do you have a particular purpose that you'd prefer? (Love, protection, money, etc.) I would totally be okay with a charged item. Money-themed would be awesome, but less of a money draw and more of holding onto the money we get already. Do you have any significant upcoming events in your life you'd like something for? A child/yourself graduating from high school/college? Are you buying a new home or car soon? Moving in with someone/getting married? Taking a new job? Moving to a new part of the country/world? Moving within the next few months (I'm hoping we don't have to leave until late March at the earliest!) and my sister's wedding in May, but otherwise nothing super exciting (although that's not saying that moving is exciting - I hate it). Ooooh! BPAL's beloved alicia_stardust is having a contest! If you're my Witchee, would you like a chance to win these earrings? I don't wear earrings, so not for me (but I entered my mom!) How are we feeling about burlesque? Not really my thing. Is there anything you're lusting after in the Villainess update? Update or no, I will always happily take more Krakatoa. (just I don't have anywhere safe and tall enough to store the perfumes, so none of those, unless it was decanted into a roller bottle or something). Raspberry Swirl and Lipstick Lost are both awesome, as well. I custom mix nail polish, a process called 'frankening'. If you were my witch, would you enjoy a custom 'franken', based on whatever colors/theme you chose? Frankening intrigues me and I've got eleventybillion ideas for a polish (okay, maybe not quite that many), so sure! Since everyone is spending the same amount of money on this swap, would you be interested in seeing the cost breakdown of each item in your package? I don't need it, and I'm not sure I'll be putting one together for my witchee either as it's a bit harder when you're crafting most everything (like, if I buy a $4 strand of beads but only use half, I'd count that in my head as $2 towards my witch even though I spent $4, but even that gets fuzzy when it looks like I'll be buying some of the spray paint for plastic and then only using it on two small pieces of plastic). And I'm not counting the costs of supplies like beads and cigar boxes that I had in my home already. Do you like keys? They open things? Some are pretty, but not really my thing. Do you like guessing who your witch is, or would you prefer to know? Do you mind knowing? I am SO BAD at guessing, but I'm okay when witches don't reveal. If it's going to be obvious who your witch is, would you rather she played the ninja and sent one big box at the end, or smaller packages along the way? Totally up to him or her! (although when I've been in that situation, I use things like etsy or sellers on the forum, so it's not coming from an easy to recognize address) What color are your eyes? Brown If you had to choose a color for a nightie to sleep in what color would it be? I sleep nekkid, but leopard print works for me! Are you opposed to vegan baked goods? Or baked goods in general? No opposition to baked yummy things here! What's your favourite flower? Lotus flowers have a spiritual significance for me. I love how lilies look, particularly calla lilies. Roses are okay if they've been dethorned. But some of my favorite bouquets have been random less expensive flowers that are splashes of color. For those that have dogs, if I were to knit them a sweater, what colour would you like it to be? Although my cat Luna would be adorable in a sweater, I rather like having fingers. Lip balm: Yay or nay? If yay, what are your favorite kinds (brands, consistency, whatever)? Yay! I love My Lip Stuff's consistency, but hate chapstick/blistex consistency. The ones put out by Bath and Body works are nice as well. How do you feel about home-canned goods, like pickles, jelly, preserves, stuff like that. Jelly and preserves would get used, but I don't know about anything else. Other than applesauce, which I would happily nom. OPI Alice in Wonderland set? I like the non-reds, but the reds are kinda boring to me. Hair stuff? Clips and things, do you need any? I can always use more ponytail holders (as long as there's no metal bits) as apparently used ponytail holders are the best kitteh toys evar. Clips to hold hair back are good, but my hair is fine and EVIL so things like bobby pins and decorative but flimsy clips are no match for it - they either fall out or my hair eats them. I'm intrigued by hair forks and sticks and whatnot as well. How do you feel about handmade stuffed animals? Are there any accessories you'd really like? (Keychains, little purses, etc.) What are your favorite animals? Is there anything you've had to give up that you really miss or want back? Maybe something a witch could help out with? -

******9/29***** Suppose I have a bottle of something you (my witchee) really wants, and I want to share it with you. Would you like a rollerball bottle made from oil in my own bottle in it? Sure! ******Some days after 9/24 and before the end of the month****** What are your thoughts on Incense? answered in my questionnaire, but not for me. What about handbags/totes/clutches? I am really really hard on purses. I usually gravitate more towards messenger bags and guide bags because of being able to find things quickly, and because they tend to be more durable. Do you just need anything from the Possets update? Not really. ******9/24***** Do you use henna at all (hair or skin)? (pens, notepads, cards, pencils, etc.) Pens are always welcome.. I don't really use notepads but I won't turn down nice notecards. And somewhere in this apartment I have a wax seal and sealing wax - more seals and more colors of wax are always welcome. ******9/21-22***** The New update is next week.....Is everyone ready for the Yules and everything else in store? I'll probably get decants of anything Yule related I'm interested in. Lunar oils rarely work on me (the year of the Asian moons was the exception as they had a different base), but my list of dealbreaker notes helps narrow things down a lot. I've also learned that while aquatics and ozone work for me, snow and ice doesn't. I don't know why. Cake or death? Cake, please! Are there any foreign food products that you'd love to get or to try? I miss European chocolate - even the stuff you could buy in a grocery store there. *****9/20***** Would you object to annonomous postcards (real ones) from your witch before the big reveal??? Fine with me! ******9/19***** Do you drink alcohol? Wine, beer or liquor? What is your favorite wine/beer/mixed drink? I especially like Sex On the Beach(es?), margaritas, Sloe Gin Fizzes, and Sloe Comfortable Screws (the last one is fun to have big macho dudes order for you). Do you like to find out there's a package on the way or to receive a tracking number to stalk, or do you prefer surprise packages? Surprise packages are fun, and while DC is pretty much a must on your end, I don't *have* to have it. If I were your witch, and I wanted to make you a spell or mojo bag, would you be into that? And, if you were, would you want it for something like love, prosperity or luck? Or would you want it for a certain element? Or would you want it for something more personal- and what might that be? Luck or prosperity would work.. Chakra based would also work, probably heart specifically or something to help balance them. *****9/18***** Do you wear lip gloss/lip balm? If so, what flavors/scents? Yes - I prefer more natural stuff but I totally bought a Vanilla Pepsi flavored one last week. Nothing overly floral. I prefer slicker balms (like My Lip Stuff) over Chapstick. Pens, sharpies What are your favorite fruits? peaches, apples, oranges (some varieties more than others.. blood oranges are probably my fave) If Beth made a perfume called "switch witch" what notes would be in it? There's a couple things that aren't my cup of tea, but I'll pretty much eat any sort of cookie. ******9/17***** Are you into 80s movies (like i am ) if so, which are your favorites and who are your favorite characters? Eh, not so much. Unless you want to hunt down the My Little Ponies movie so I can torture my husband. Do you like Villainess soaps? What are your favorite scents? I love Villainess' products, except the soaps dry out my skin. Things in Masala, Scintillating, and Krakatoa are sure hits, I also love Xia but it doesn't love my shower so I can only use the smooch at the gym. I've tried a *ton* of the LE's over the years, but there are a bunch of GC stuff I haven't tried yet. Didn't care for my first go round with Gingersnapped, but that was back in '05 so I'd be up for a re-try on that one. Do you mind artificial colors in your food? It's fine - don't feel like you have to dye my food red with beets or anything. Who wants hair pretties?(headbands, barrettes, pony-o's, scrunchies, bobby pins, hair clips, etc) Hair pretties are fine with me. I am on an origami crane kick recently, so I wonder if anyone will be interested in origami crane earrings, origami crane in a glass vial (~1.2cm wide) phone charm/pendant or just a container filled with cranes of different sizes. My current phone doesn't have anywhere to hang a charm and I don't wear earrings, but other things could be cute. How do you feel about clothing/accessories made from animals? Anti-fur, leather, shells, etc.? Does even faux wig you out? I'm anti-fur, and while I like leather I'm trying to use less of it as leather is not actually acquired from meat animals. Found shells are fine, fake-fake fur is fine How do you deal with stress? What's your favorite way to unwind? Good food, tea or hot chocolate, killing things in Guild Wars You're given the opportunity to apprentice at any trade (or craft) of your choosing for the period of one year. Your mentor may be any currently living person. Which field of study would you choose, and who would be your mentor? Probably the gem cutting and metalsmithing end of jewelry making. Not sure who I'd apprentice under though. ******9/16***** Who is musically inclined? What instruments (voice counts) do you play? Would you enjoy sheet music? I don't play anything really. Favorite musicals? Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Chicago, Ragtime, Rent, others I can't think of Which of the seven deadly sins is most likely to be your undoing? Sloth or Gluttony, probably Anyone want a nickname and embroidered headband from PandaBite? No thanks? I have seen a lot of yankee candles haters..... personally i like yankee candle (some of them, anyway). do you or don't you, and if not, what candles do you like? this assumes you like candles. otherwise, what specific home fragrance do you use? I like their tarts (and lots of other people's tarts), I don't use a lot of jar candles. I also use BBW Wallflowers and Scentports in my bathroom (we have both bases), and Scentportables in my car and my husband's car. Would a "gift" donation to one of the organizations/causes you support be a great gift, or a lame gift? It would be a great gift! 9/15 Does anyone have any symbols they consider to be personally significant or talismanic? Lotus flowers. I'm still working out the why's, but they keep popping up in enough places that I've taken notice. Are there any Gods, Goddess, or other mythological figures of whom you're particularly fond? Bastet, to a lesser extent Kundalini (possibly an Egyptian counterpart?) Super villain or vigilante? Which would you like to be? Which would you like to receive? I'm very much the justice driven vigilante.. and I'd want to receive a vigilante. What mythical or fantastic race of creatures (dragons, unicorns, griffins, elves, dwarves, faeries, etc.) do you most identify with, and why? I'm not sure. I'd have to do research (yes, really), because it's not very cut and dry for me. How do you feel about Dia de los Muertos? Are you interested in sugar skulls? Catrina (or other) skeleton figurines? The celebration is interesting, but it's not really part of my path. I'm not adverse to things celebrating it (just like I'm not adverse to things celebrating Christian holidays) but I wouldn't celebrate it on the deeper, non-secular end of things. Do you have a favorite poem or poet? Robert Frost is a favorite. I particularly like The Road Less Traveled. 9/14 For the crafty people out there: would you prefer something crafted or crafting supplies? Either! There's all sorts of things I'm no good at making, and more supplies are fun too. Can you use pill boxes, a hard ID case, coin purse, etc? I don't know that I'd use a pill box. I have a cute little vinyl ID case, but I could totally use a coil purse (something I could clip onto the carabiner clip I keep my keys and ID case on would be perfect for small runs. Any songs you are desperately into at the moment? Not really? Although my husband swiped the cord the goes from my XM radio to my car, so I've been stuck listening to regular radio. What's autumn like in your neck of the woods? What do you love and/or hate about it? I don't know yet - it's my first Fall in Idaho! What's your favorite product(s) at Trader Joe's? Don't know, never shopped there. If you're caught in front of the tv, what are you watching? Bones or Food Network. There are other shows I used to watch, but I got sooo out of the habit of watching tv while we were overseas and it's a hard habit to pick up again. Any Amy Brown art fans? I like some of her fairies, and I like some of the other fairy artists. Fairy doors are neat. I'm interested in the squashed fairies tho. How do you feel about Halloween music? (mix CDs, what have you) Not my cup of tea. Who else is reeeeeally looking forward to Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland? I didn't know it was a movie until this thread? Is there a store that you love which does not have a location near you (but that has a physical presence somewhere, not just online? Why do you love it so much? Probably Sanrio, epicenter of cute! Lolcats....yeah or nay? Some are very very clever, and some.. aren't. I tend to poke around the site randomly when I need a giggle. If you had the funds to commission an original painting for yourself, what would it be of? What would it be like- colors, size, style? It would probably be of a sunset where we used to live in Italy.. purples, pinks, golds, the water a deep blue, probably pretty big. 9/12-13 What's something you're really looking forward to in the semi-near future? Have a sort of mini-vacation coming up in October. It's technically a training thing for my husband, but all the recruiters and families in his entire battalion (which spans several states) will be there so it'll be something different from the usual). Could you use a 'travel' imp case? How many should it hold? I have one and I forget to use it. As a witchee, would you prefer to have many little packages sent to you throughout the round with a not-so-big final package or fewer things throughout the round with one huge final package to seal the sweetness? Whatever works best for my witch is fine with me. It's all good. What is your idea of the perfect evening at home? Good dinner, watching a movie with my husband, cats being cuddly but not attention whores Are you on any social networks (MySpace, Twitter, LJ, Facebook, Bebo, etc)? If so, make with the links! Are you open to new friends? I have a myspace but I can't remember the password. I do use twitter (crazyredhead17).. I've been a bit turned off of Facebook recently. What kind of socks? Ankle socks, normal socks, maybe knee socks.. dunno if I could anything taller up my not so skinny self. How often do you update your wishlist? Kaboodle and etsy get updated fairly often.. Bpal and other perfume companies - I try to update when new releases come out or when I get an order or do a swap. I've been focusing on other companies than Bpal recently, so that one will likely stay pretty static throughout the round but Arcana and Nocturne Alchemy's lists will get tweaked some. May I help you fill out your costuming wardrobe (assuming you costume)? Are there articles you are seeking to enhance your a) Halloween costume, Renfest attire, c) Cosplay, d) Steampunk accouterment? I don't really have a costuming wardrobe... and my husband is interested in fursuiting but not much else so I don't know that I'll be picking anything up soon. Who are your favorite artists/illustrators/art periods? I like art? There are artists I don't care for in pretty much every period, but I love art. What's your stance on cranberries? I like them, but I'm not too fond of cranberry sauce. I like the juice, I like them dried, I like craisins.. Do you mind receiving used (in good condition, of course) CDs or DVDs? (I know this question was on the questionnaire about books, but I didn't see one for DVDs or CDs.) Used is fine with me! Do you have a crush on anyone famous? Do you have a crush on any literary characters? Would you like fanfiction or fan art based on this/these people? Not so much. You're at home, or out, and you want a snack. Something that will get you through to the next meal, or through to the end of school or what ever. What do you grab? If I'm at work it's usually a snickers bar, at home it could be almost anything. Do you have a favorite bpal bottle art? Possibly Pink Phoenix. Are there any decants from the Halloweenies, Literary Vampires, Gris Grimly, or Hellboy that you would be interested in receiving? I haven't ordered anything from the Hallowween update, so anything on my wishlist from it is fair game for decants. 9/11 There has been a lot of talk about chocolate, but none about Candy! What is your favorite Candy? What candy do you hate? I don't care for hard candies with the weird fruit fillings, I don't like super sweet caramels, and I don't care for most marshmallows, but anything else is fair game. Do you have a Blu-Ray player? Nope. Do you have any objections to receiving downloads? Is your internet connection fast enough for you to download large files like music easily? Are there any songs, albums, movies, or TV shows that you can't find/haven't been released that you want? I prefer legal downloads, but I'm open to other downloads. I have a cable modem, so it's certainly fast enough. 9/10 If you do any kind of craft, could you use supplies? What kind? knitting needles, yarn, amazing fabric, pinking shears, cool thimbles or pincushins, jewelery making supplies, beads, etc.? I could always use beads, fancy clasps or other findings, etc. What's your favorite pain-relief remedy or ritual? Depends on the pain, where I currently am, and what I've got on me. I have an aromatherapy roll-on for sinus pain that I'll use at work, but if it's another part of me all I can do is take advil and hope it helps. If I'm at home - hot tea, hot shower, dark room, pain killers. Do sounds make you happy? What ambient noises make you smile? purring kitties, rain, my tea kettle right before it whistles When you receive your SW packages...do you like receiving things that are individually wrapped inside? or unwrapped? or both? Both, either, doesn't matter Of course, we're all going to be grateful no matter what our witches give us, but for the record, what is your anti-present? Tell us something that you think your future witch might give you that you absolutely, unequivocally DO. NOT. WANT. I posted this in the thread, but on etsy a few years ago I found a purse in ACU fabric (army combat uniform - the digital desert one) that was line with pink toile and had a name tape of ARMY WIFE on it and remembered thinking "please universe, never let my MIL find this." Same goes for any of the "I love my Soldier" things. Yeah, I'm a military spouse, but I don't need to advertise it, nor is it my sole identifying quality. What BPAL scent have you never tried but always wanted to? What scent have you tried and LOVED, and haven't been able to get more of and why? I've always wanted to try Mabon. I loved Egg'd Mailbox, but decants and bottles are hard to find. I know we're all scent sensitive here. What are your favorite non-perfume smells? Day in the life stuff? Tea or coffee brewing, food in the oven, the air just after it's rained Coffee drinkers, what types of beans to you like? Kona, Sumatra, Kenya..etc. How do you like them roasted? Do you like flavors, such as hazelnut, vanilla, etc. in your coffee? I usually go the way of flavored coffee, although I'd love a good Italian espresso blend. I dislike Starbuck's coffee and find it to be a bit over roasted and almost burnt. Who has a birthday falling in this round? This Virgo is an August baby. For those of us who like chocolate, do you like anything /in/ your chocolate, like fruit, nuts, or for the more daring among us, chilies? Fruits, nuts, mint, crispy things. The more.. gourmand? fillings intrigue, but I don't know that I'd go for chilies. Are there any childhood shows/movies/games/books/etc. that still hold a really special place in your heart? 9/9 Super power? Flying. If I send you whole spices or coffee beans, would you be able to grind them or would you prefer them preground for your convenience? I don't currently own a grinder, but it's something I wouldn't mind picking up for spices. For coffee, I use a French press, so things that can come pre-ground at infusion settings are good as most coffee grinders I look at just do drip coffee grinds. For the tea and coffee drinkers: Opinion on tea- and/or coffee-related accessories/etc? (Teaware, sugar crystals, infusers, tea chests, etc)How do you take your coffee (or tea)? Black or with cream and/or sugar? Teaware - I have a glass teapot already, but I use more infusers for single cups. I generally use splenda in tea so I don't need fancy sugar, but a tea chest to hold at least the bags in something better than the way they're currently packed in my cabinet might be very very good. Coffee almost always is sweetened and flavored (either it comes pre-flavored, or I add flavored syrups or creamer to it). Tea.. it depends. Sometimes I add milk or cream, I generally always sweeten it, but it depends a lot on the tea and what I've got in the fridge. Restaurants you'd like a gift certificate to on Restaurant.com? I haven't been to any of the restaurants they have listed. Idaho Falls is literally two blocks away, Pocatello is about an hour away. In your perfect world it is chocolate and...? Raspberry, or mint, or hazelnuts. How do you scent your home: tarts, reed diffusers, BPAL, candles? I use tarts in the bedroom, and BBW Wallflowers/Scentports in the bathroom (I have both bases). I light candles occasionally. I'm interested in using scented oils to scent my home, but it has to be an electric warmer because cat+flame=bad (cat+reed diffusers=not much better) What's your favorite dessert treat? Ice cream? Cake? Pie? Fudge brownie cake with pie flavored ice cream on top? It depends on mood and time of the month. Do you believe we control our destiny, or does our destiny control us? I don't necessarily believe in destiny. We can choose some of what we do, but much is out of our control (as it's other people's choices of what happens to us, just as it is often our choice in how to act towards another). So while it might not be destiny or fate that has circumstances out of our control, it's others choosing certain ways.. we can still act - but it's very much a situation of getting what you put in. What one thing that is missing from your life would you like to have above all else? A job that doesn't suck? I've been musing to myself that I'm 29 and I don't feel like a grown-up and when will I feel like a grown-up, and while I acknowledge that the answer to the second part is likely "never" I've just always had it in my head that when you grow up you get a full time job, and I've yet to work full-time. But then I muse that, if I'm planning on having kids and staying home with them, is it so imperative that I work full time before that, and I dunno. (the having kids part of things is also very up in the air, which doesn't help). But a job that I actually enjoy and don't dread going to? would be wonderful. 9/8 What was your favouritest job ever, and why? I don't know that I've had a favorite. The best I've had so far was the hotel I used to work for - the hours were a bit icky but my coworkers were all wonderful people, and I liked the actual job. Which three albums would you take to your apocalypse bolt hole and how would you power the generator? With the husband being military, it would probably be a big bolthole with lots of people.. otherwise I think I'd go insane. Although really, I think I'd rather be out there trying to fix things or help people during the apocalypse than be holed away while it happens and hope there's something to come out to. If I die trying or helping, at least I will have tried to make a bad situation a tiny bit better. What GC scent have you been putting off getting since it'll "always be there"? My lone GC bottle is a four year old bottle of Blood Kiss. Other GC's I'd like in bottle form would be Snake Oil, Black Phoenix, Olokun, Fae, Malediction, and maybe a backup or two of Death Adder. Are you interested in things like home remedies for ailments, cleaning solutions, etc.? Yes. I'm trying to green up what all we use for cleaning, and I'm always looking for new ideas. 9/7 Any cooks? Could you use anything cooking related? Aprons? Cookbooks? Measuring Cups? Recipes? Herb/Spice containers? Fancy Spices? Dish Towels? Cocktail napkins? Amazing Beaded Pot Holders? (like from our very own Pottersville! ) Something else? Yes? I have some cooking stuff on my kaboodle list, but I'm open to more. Napkins I'd prefer to be cloth.. microfiber or other material paper towel replacements, silicone pot holders (or silicone anything - can't melt it!) Are you an avid reader? What's your favorite book/series? I do read a lot, but I don't know that I can pick a favorite. What's your favorite candy to stock up on at Halloween? It's a bit less of "stock up" and bit more of "nom on when it's available" - and what it is really depends on mood. (helpful, I know) What are your phobias? Elevators, fire (though I've made some progress with the fear of fire). Not too fond of bugs, either. What is your favourite flower (or plant)? Cut flower wise, I like most anything except roses (which I like, but I dislike working with). I don't currently have any cat-safe vases though. I used to work for a garden center in the floral department - so there are many many plants and flowers I love. If you're sending plants or flowers though, they need to be okay for cats. Duct tape purses and wallets and things are pretty darned cool. Who else thinks so? Straight up silver duct tape isn't my bag. I don't technically need a wallet, but I'd be game for a duct tape purse as long as it wasn't the silver stuff. An anonymous benefactor gives you $500 (or an equivalent amount of money in your currency of choice) with the following stipulations. You must spend all of it within a week: any money left unspent must be returned. You must spend at least half of the money on yourself. You may not use it to pay off debts or bills of any kind. What do you do with the money? Pants and perfume, probably. Maybe some cool cat toys that are usually more than I want to spend on my kitties. The husband recently bought himself a big screen tv and a macbook, so he doesn't need anything else big, but I'd probably get him an itunes card or xbox points (things we don't usually buy ourselves). Who likes coloring books? While I wouldn't be adverse to some of the more geometric coloring books, they're not really my thing and I don't have a space where I could really use them (and I'd likely be coloring with colored pencils instead of crayons). Do you have a Good Reads profile? If so, make with the link! If you don't have one, go make one! I don't, and I don't know that I'd remember to keep up with it. 9/6 questions: You're in the kitchen at the end of a pay period and groceries are pretty scarce. Do you take the five ingredients you find first and make something fabulous, or do you order take out? There's a bunch of things that I always have on hand - pasta, rice (basmati and arborio currently), chicken broth (currently there's an open one in the fridge, and a backup in the pantry), milk (even if it's Parmalot), condensed soups, cans of no salt added tomato sauce, couscous, olive oil, and I try to make sure I've always got something with protein - tuna, cheese, chicken, etc, plus all my spices and whatnot. Dinner Wednesday (got paid Thursday) was frozen tilapia with a glaze made from garlic, ginger (I have a tube of ginger and a little jar of minced garlic living in my fridge), reduced sodium teriyaki sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and maple syrup, which I thickened and poured over the defrosted fish, and sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds. Made up a batch of Egg Drop soup to go with it from a packet I found behind some hot chocolate. If you could decorate/redecorate any 1 room in your home, what would it be and how would you decorate it? Probably my bedroom. While I love the combination of colors we have for bedding (sage green, light blues, cream), there's a distinct lack of anything to carry that through the room, so the room seems clunkier and less relaxing. Any rabid sports fans out there? What teams do you root for? Not a big sports person here. What's your favorite animal? (You can have more than one.) I love cats - all types. I also like songbirds, eagles, falcons, butterflies, dragonflies, hummingbirds, pretty fish, dolphins, whales, wolves, bunnies.. I could probably go on for while. This is how the world ends... zombie apocalypse, robot uprising, alien invasion, return of the elder gods... which doomsday scenario do you prefer (or make your own!)? I kinda like the apocalypse as Good Omens tells it, personally. But ultimately, I imagine it will be some sort of man-made disaster spawned at least in part by global warming and pollution. In the year 2525... if man is still alive... what sort of future do you imagine? (apologies to anyone who gets that song stuck in their head!) Not that much different than now. Maybe a bit lonelier, hopefully a lot greener, probably more technology in everyday lives, but otherwise probably more of the same. I do have to say that all the people in the thread who generally feel that 2525 will be the apocalypse, or that humanity will be gone by then.. it's only 15 years from now! While the world (especially the US) has some serious issues, I don't think that the world will have ended in fifteen years. Changed? Yes. Grittier? Maybe. While circumstances and widely held socio-political beliefs will shift, I highly doubt that that which makes us human will change so much to the point that the general experience is grittier for all. The stance of "I hope we've found a way to get civilians into space" bothers me deeply though.. when watching the movie Wall-E and seeing the people aboard that vessel, I had to wonder to myself - where are all the poor people? Were they left to die? Because everyone on that ship had to have serious $$$ to get on that flight. Do you believe in magic (or magick, if you prefer)? What does it mean to you? Magic is a bit like energy potential. It's everywhere, waiting and able to shaped by thoughts and whispers and spoken words. The energy doesn't abide by arbitrary borders or religious boundaries - when someone puts meaning and thought and energy into a prayer, it's no different than someone putting effort and concentration into a spell - you're shaping the energy near you, charging it, and sending it out to release that charge. If you found the puzzle box from Hellraiser, what would you do with it? ( and would you be able to resist playing with it? ) I would probably try to play with it, give up, and let it get dusty somewhere. 9/5 questions: Do you like pinup art/images? Not particularly What are your plans for Halloween? Have you made any yet? Do you have any traditions? Currently no plans.. and we don't have any traditions yet. Who are your BPAL forum buddies? You know, people I could conspire with to Witch you! I've know Aiyahh and Wren through other sites for aaaages (Aiyahh is the person who introduced us to Bpal, among other e-tailor enablings) What is your favorite color? Pink! Any other steampunk fans/lovers? I love the aesthetic, but I don't currently own any pieces. I love the Girl Genius webcomic (although I've been busy and bad about keeping up with it). I probably wouldn't wear steampunk/victorian clothing (mostly because it's hard to find in my size - if I could find something I liked in my size I'd probably wear it).. but accessory sorts of things would work. Skipping the picnic question - I can't come up with an answer. 9/4 Questions: Any Gamers here? What kind? Board games? RPG? Miniature? MMORPG? I have a Nintendo DS that's currently being neglected in favor of Guild Wars. My husband and I also have a Wii (but it's in NJ with my bpalz and other perfumes - this will hopefully be rectified before the end of the round) and an Xbox.. 360? I don't use it enough to actually know. I also play on pogo.com and in Second Life (although in SL I mostly just poke around). Is anyone playing this round of SW into ABJ? (asian ball jointed dolls) I love the looks of some of the dolls (and then there are the ones that freak me the heck out), but at the moment I can't justify the cost of one. Maybe someday in the future. What is your favorite Halloween icon? Creepy trees, leaves, bats, pumpkins, spiderwebs. (I saw some pretty wired ribbon with velvety spiderwebs - I might pick it up and some solid black ribbon and make a Halloween bow for the door of my apartment. Imagine that you're given a shoebox-sized time capsule, and you are asked to put any number of items in the box that symbolize who you are. The items can be may be anything you can imagine, and money is no object, but they must fit within the box. Which items do you choose? A small statue of Bastet, a stuffed ruby throated hummingbird (plush.. not a real bird that's gone to see a taxidermist), a preserved red maple leaf, and a collection of photographs I've taken, places I've been, people I know or miss, etc. Are you involved in any long-term, ambitious project? something like decorating your house or saving for a trip to the other end of the world, for example. Currently working on framing a bunch of art that's been accumulating - also need to work on decorating the apartment more and picking up some more furniture. Favorite kind or take out kinda burger? Whats your burger preference? Veggie, meat or ???? Chicken? I don't eat beef, and I don't care for most vegetable burgers. I do love Boca Burgers though. Whats your favorite childhood toy? This question is harder than the box question. I loved Barbies, I had an American Girl doll that I loved (I have Molly), and we always had lots of crafty things around - paper, crayons, markers, sidewalk chalk, etc.. and I don't think I can pick a favorite from the three. If you have a pet, what kind of gifts would be good for them? I have two kitties, but we've only had one for a week so I'm still working out what he loves vs merely tolerates. Luna loves catnip, the fake mice (unnatural colors only - we've had some scares with natural colored toy mice floating by in the bathtub), fishing poles, sparkly pompoms.. she'd probably go for those crinkly balls and jungle balls too. Jethro is definitely old enough for catnip but I can't find the refillable mouse to see for sure. He's played a little bit with some of the cat toys we have, but he was hopping all over for the fishing pole. Treats: Currently I've got a bag of Greenies, but only Luna eats them - that may change after Jethro sees her eating them. I'm in the process of switching kibbles from kitty junk food to Nutro, if that makes a difference. I prefer treats that help with kitty dental needs since I like having fingers too much to try brushing. Neither one of my housemonsters has long enough fur that hairballs are a problem. Do you Tweet? What is your Twitter name? Twitter is crazyredhead17.. I'm lackadaisical about following and twit randomly. Are you on Ravelry? What is your Ravelry name? Not on ravelry. 9/3 questions: What are everyone's favorite Halloween-y/Autumn-y/spooky movies? Are there any you don't own but would like to? Not a big fan of spooky/horror sorts of movies. I do want to see Coraline, but I'll probably rent it from Redbox before deciding to buy it or not. Are roasted pumpkin seeds and home made chex mix the best fall snack foods, or what? I don't know that I've had pumpkin seeds? I do love chex mix, and I totally love all the sweet ones you can buy. I'm also game for trail mixes/gorp, but I don't care for regular raisins. I'm currently munching the walmart house brand Indulgent mix, but it needs more dried cranberries, more almonds, and less of the chocolate/white chocolate/peanut butter chips (it also has golden raisins, which I can tolerate). My mom makes one with Cracklin' Oat Bran, regular M&M's, a couple kinds of nuts, and raisins and that's aroused.gif too. Whats your favorite pie, my dear SW's? Pretty much anything - notable exceptions are blueberry, cherry, anything meat based.. and that might be it. And I have peaches for a peach crumble. I made one last month that was wonderful, and I'm thinking of mixing a little bit of powdered ginger in it this time. Should be very very good. What kinda socks are you wearing tonight? Currently wearing a pair of pink Nike socks - they're girlie but comfy for standing all day in (my shiny new sneakers help tons too) - I'm a cashier at a Walmart supercenter so I stand all shift. Do you like socks? Blankets? Wrist warmers? Arm warmers? Headband? Shawl? Or what kind of knitted thing would you love the most? Love socks, love blankets.. could probably pull off a headband. Don't know that I'd wear wrist warmers, but arm warmers in solid white or solid navy could come in handy when I'm stuck at a register with a draft (it's still warm here in ID, but the snow comes sooooooooon). I could also use a scarf. No wool though - it's in my questionnaire but I'm allergic. The only work-around would be kinda like my hat - it's wool but all the parts that touch my skin are lined with a super soft synthetic fleece. And it covers my ears and has a pompom on top and totally embarrasses my sister but I 00001616.gif it. How do you feel about ghost stories? Do you like to tell the old tales around a campfire? Read true accounts on the web way past your bedtime? Do you like to pick up a good anthology of Poe stories on a blustery day? Or is all that too scary for you? I'm finding myself more and more prone to nightmares from spooky stuff, so no. Poe is good tho. Who here is LOVING Warehouse 13? Not familiar with it - but I don't watch much tv. Nother question! Coffee or Tea? I drink both, but I prefer tea to coffee. I love flavored teas and coffees, generally no decaf (I do have some, but I only drink it if it's late). Interested in locally produced products? Food, skincare or both?Olive oil? Lavender oils or soaps? Locally produced is great, for food and skin care. I love olive oil. Lavender.. can make me queasy and/or give me a migraine.. but things like BBW's Lavender Vanilla aromatherapy stuff doesn't bother me. Does anyone in here wear a lot of dangly earrings or collect pendants of all kinds?? How about hair clips or pony tail band things? No dangly earrings. I do wear pendants when I remember to. Hair clips and ponytail holders - I'm trying to refrain from cutting my hair until after my sister's wedding (in May!) and it's currently boob-length and I need things to do with it other than just ponytail or braid it. So clips and combs that can hold a good amount of evilly fine hair would be wonderful. What is your favourite historical period? I don't know that I can pick a favorite. There are generally always some I'm interested in learning more about. What other hot beverages everyone likes for fall? Hot cider, mulled cider, hot chocolate (flavored is fine) Did you order anything from the most recent update? Nope. Not super likely, as I've gotten pickier about the blends I'm interested in in the last year or so (which is roughly the same window as when I started trying other perfume companies). Vampires or Werewolves? Or some other monster? Because being normal some of the time is a big plus. What sort of odd or regional foods do you crave? I miss a bunch of the European chocolate brands that I used to get all the time in Italy that I can't find here, saltwater taffy from the Jersey Shore, and Badger brand hard cider. My husband misses Yeungling beer, but he's enjoying the local beers for this area so he can deal. -

In the bottle: Like smelling a freshly made Eggnog Latte Wet: A beautifully rich coffee, with creamy eggnog. A few minutes on: Lightly spiced coffee It's getting a generically spiced creaminess.. which is similar to how Eggnog smelled on me. The coffee is there but it's faint. On the right person, this would be awesome.. but not so much on me.

Nobility and haughtiness befitting the Antichrist: sage, carnation and cedar with lavender, vanilla, white musk and leather. I'm pulling random things out of my "waiting to be tried" bag without checking notes first. Sage, lavender, cedar, and leather are some of my least favorite notes, so saying that this blend is seven shades of awful is an understatement. (Imp and Wet thoughts were jotted down before I found the description) Imp: Promising. Wet: Floral with something I can't pin down. As it dries: Cinnamon (Carnation, I'm guessing) and manly cologne The cinnamon-y carnation fades into manly cologne that doesn't work on me. Not for me.

In the imp: Apples Wet: Appley! Bright, juicy apples As it dries, the apple stays pretty pure and very wet, possibly the dew and mist. There is something deeper as well, probably the oak bark. A few minutes later, and the wood is coming on fast. And smelling.. burnt? It's burnt wood and sweet burnt apples (definetly not baked apples). Even with the burnt smells.. it's still rather pretty, just not something I'd reach for often.

In the Imp: Dragon's Blood (uh oh) Wet: Florals? A minute or two on and the Dragon's blood is going to cough syrup. And it's playing bad with something else. Urgh. Roughly five minutes on it's going to a sexy blend of red musk and vetiver.. with cough syrup in the background. If things that are usually pretty potent on my skin can't keep dragon's blood from being awful.. I think I'll just give up on the blasted note.

That sounds like me.. except Inez was a generic perfume on me. At least it wasn't sandalwood hell, but it wasn't anything special on me.

In the imp: Men's cologne, and something in it is making me headachey (probably the jasmine), although jasmine, lavender, and bergamot all tend to be death notes, so I'm not crossing fingers on this one. Got a couple of drops on my palm closing it again, so I'll review it for as long as I can take the jasmine/lavender show. Wet: Lavender with a side of jasmine. As it's drying: I can smell the bergamot, but it and the lavender and jasmine are making me queasy. Time to go scrub this puppy off. eta: I managed to get this on my husband (no easy feat) and it smells really nice on him.

In the imp: Very slinky incense Wet: Incense As it dries, the sugar cane comes out and makes it a very sweet scent. It takes about 10 minutes for the incense to extract itself from the sugar. It's pretty, but.. before I put on the blend my nose and sinuses were clear, and now I'm all congested. It's pretty, but it's giving me the same reaction I get from incense of the unlit variety (once burning, the lit stuff gives me different woes). It's really really pretty, but I'm going to have to migrate to the bathroom to wash it off and blow my nose.

In the imp: Sweet, fruity floral Wet: Floral explosion (please calm down, please calm down) As it dries: Very very floral. There's a hint of fruit, but it's mostly tropical blooms. A few minutes later, and it goes a bit soapy. It's fading fast and it's barely been on. There are still some heady florals floating around though. No sign of the wine or dark chocolate or even the honey - the sweet I'm getting is flower sweet. 20 or so minutes, it's a sweet floral that'll be perfect for spring. I'm not sure what my skin did to the wine, honey, or tobacco, though, as I tend to amp those. No complaints about the lack of ampage though.

Imp: Sweet and pretty and oh I hope this works on me. Wet: Fresh and green. Maybe 1 minute on: Sinus headache from florals of DOOM! arg. But then the headache fades (er, okay) and when I sniff my hand it's a very very sweet floral. A few minutes on, and it's sweet and.. not floral? I think the amber is coming out (I'm not entirely sure what amber smells like, but it usually "feels" fuzzy and this doesn't scentfeel fuzzy.. but it's not patchouli so I'm drawing blanks). It's settling into an amber-y tea scent. Pretty, but not something I'd reach for. At least I don't have to wash this one off though.

In the imp: Fruity but feminine.. lightly floral. Wet: Orange scented honey, with roses. And after a few minutes of the other notes promising to behave (and smelling gooood too boot), the sandalwood says "screw you all" and comes out in full force. And I think the honey is starting to turn. It's heading towards the land of playdough honey and burnt wood.. and it had so much potential! Stupid skin.

I neeeed to work through my to-try imp bag, because they're breeding, and I have to shower tonight, so there's no better time to try things that might not work. In the imp: Musky Wet: I couldn't bring myself for a close sniff when a further sniff was a combination of Ack! and ewww. This might not wait until my shower to get washed off.. As it dries: There was a touch of florals before this, er.. scent formed. I swear I smell rubbing alchohol.. and fake cherries.. and it kinda smells like a wound that just been freshly treated in a sterilized room in a doctor's office. Maybe a dentist's office, because the fake cherry is reminding me of some of the treatments they'd do when I was a kid. Ick.

In the decant: Custard! Wet, this is very custard-like. Makes me want to eat my arm. As it dries, it gets a little spicier and a little bit more floral. It's still a vanilla custard scent, but it's kept back from going cloying on my skin. Pretty! But my decant will do for me.

I usually love aquatics. Usually. In the decant: Soap. Wet: Soap. Dries to: that floral soap you find in hotel bathrooms. Something I generally avoid smelling like, since it gives me an awful headache. It's just like someone dragged a bar of that soap across me or something. Not a keeper.
