What?! No! Why is this discontinued? I got an imp sometime in July, but only recently decided to wear it ... How sad for me! Review: Mmm ... Smells like an old bubble bath I used to love. It's warm and fruity, and darkish pink in color. I can't name the fruit. It's something tropical. I almost smelled banana or something similar for a minute there. There's something sharp but pleasant, like pinapple, but I still can't name anything in particular. It's still fruity and lovely and pink. ... Is that bubblegum? No, thank God, it's gone. I'm going to have to cheat and look at the notes ... "Huckleberry, red currant, and neroli"? That explains why I couldn't place any particular note; I have no idea what any of these smell like. There is something tangy and dark, right around the edges there, and I can see how this could go plastic easily. I hope that doesn't happen later today! (I will edit my review if it does.) However, mostly it's fantastic and fruity and warm. I would wear it in summer, but I like it for winter, as well. I think it might be too strong for spring, and too playful for fall.

(My first review ... Yay!) I completely agree, though I didn't get quite the same scents that you did. In the bottle, it was very fresh and clean. My immediate thought was bright, lemon-yellow soap. It's sort of sharp, but in a pleasant, citrus fruit way. As soon as I put it on, though, it almost immediately went floral. I smelled like a flower shop, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but I really miss the clean, bright scent it had in the bottle. There was also a sweet, mild undertone that I really liked. I kept smelling something that was familiar, but I couldn't quite place it, and I couldn't name the floral, either. Now that I've read the reviews, I think it was the sweetness of amber coming through. This didn't have much of a throw when I put it on, but then I got all bundled up and walked five minutes to breakfast, and about thirty minutes later I could really smell it. It's been about two hours since I put it on. It is now sort of pleasant but bland, very floral, and also very powdery. It makes me think of a perfume that my grandmother would have worn. It will be nice in the spring, I think, but is neither warm nor crisp enough for me this winter. I think I'll put it away and try it again in a couple of months.
  3. First of all, I have to admit that the imp I got (and very much appreciate; I don't want it to sound like I'm complaining) is from 2006, and is therefore close to 4 years old, so this review is for the aged oil, not for something straight from the lab. Please take this review with a grain of salt. The bottle smelled lovely, like an occult bookstore to my nose. This could be the fact that it was packaged with Dorian (which is basically bottled essence of the pagan/occult bookstore in my town), so I tried not to base too much of my opinion on that before I put it on. The oil was a little thicker than others that I've tried, and left a faint yellowish stain on my skin that faded quickly. One of my wrists is still a little sticky and shiny; the other is dry. This has a very strong throw. I applied it only to my wrists and I can smell it quite well, even though my wrists are at least a foot from my face. However, it has not been on for very long, so I don't know if this will fade or not. To me (I haven't seen anyone else saying this) this smells like cat litter with a faint background of vanilla. I don't mean that as a bad thing, necessarily. It smells like cat litter right out of the bag, not cat litter that's been used--which is dusty, I suppose, just not the sort of dusty I was expecting. It does remind me of my cat, though (something I like), and if cat litter is meant to help improve the smell of your house, I suppose cat litter itself doesn't reek ... Though it probably isn't something I want to smell like ever again. There is a bit of spice and a bit of vanilla, but mostly it's just cat litter and the sort of musk you smell in Walgreens and go "Ew." Maybe it shouldn't be kept for so long, maybe it just isn't made for my skin, but I definitely have not had the success that others raved about in this forum. For future reference, does anyone know what that cat-litter-esque scent is?

    Tobacco scents

Does anyone know what Black and Milds smell like? Searching through Google, the only descriptors I got were "pipe tobacco," "sweet," and "good." I do love the way they smell, but I have no idea what notes to search for in perfumes that would imitate that scent--other than, of course, pipe tobacco. Does anyone have any suggestions for additional notes and/or GC BPALs to try?
