Melty vanilla ice cream! Wow. This is most definitely a melty vanilla ice cream! It's perfect. Vanilla lovers do not hesitate to try this...it is so yummy!

Not sure if we can get them in Seattle at Knows either...

Minamoto No Yorimitsu Cuts at the Earth Spider

I am also a teak lover, and this oil doesn't disappoint. This is The Decrepit House's younger tomboy sister - slightly feminine but in your face in the best way. The teakwood is marvelous with the tobacco flower and patchouli. I don't get any vanilla from this. I seriously think this is one of the 2 best BPAL oils I have ever smelled - and it will be a multiple bottle purchase. If you like teak and tobacco flower, this is a must try. I can only imagine how amazingly this will age... -
Kusunoki Tamonmaru Masatsura Surprising a Fox Ghost

This is a beautiful, ethereal perfume. Blue musk lovers really should try this one! It is also the thickest oil I have ever put on my skin - very thick! -
I love this blend, but it's so freakin' strong! I can smell the olive oil and leather like crazy with a hint of some kind of wood underneath, although I can't discern which type of wood. Very nice...BIG throw, long wear, good stuff.

I love Ninon. She is such an amazingly well blended perfume. The Smoky honey musk, tobacco leaf, hay and orris root are most prominent at first, and then after about 5 minutes the lavender and vanilla join in. I never get rose (which is great). If I had to compare this to another blend, I would say it reminds me a bit of Under the Harvest Moon (which is one of my absolute favorites) with the addition of tobacco leaf. Another hit, to be sure, and a multiple bottle purchase. 5+/5 Years later edit: This smells very similar to SL's Chergui.

This is lovely! I smell lots of tea and lemon verbena, sweetened with honeycomb. There is a moment of funky-ness between the wet and dry stages, but so worth both of them. I'm assuming this is the anise (which I'm not a fan of) and I am thankful anise doesn't overpower this blend. Again, lovely - 4.5/5

Grape, wine and honey. This dries down to such a beautiful waft of grape and honey on me! I really didn't expect to love this, I just knew that I liked it enough to get a bottle. Well, I love it enough to need a backup. Wet, I almost get a touch of Oregano, but it's very pleasant in a non cooking sort of way. Dry, this smells like a not so sweet Alexander the Grape Otter Pop. Genius! 5/5

Seconding 2010 Yule Kingdom of Sweets. FIZZY! Mother Ginger was fizzy to me too...yum.

Anyone familier with Wode by Boudicca?

Oh yes...I will say that it IS fun. But...very 'spensive. Still working on the comparisons...ugh. So many imps, so little time! -

Wow! I love Wode. I will give it a good sniffing and then do some BPAL comparisons...now I'm curious! -
I love March Hare: it's the only blend with clove (so far) that has worked for me. The apricot is juicy and tart and not too sweet, and the clove plays very nicely. It's a shame it had to be discontinued - will use my imp very carefully! 4/5
-
Fresh, I love this. It's all Violet and Tonka...which is YUM. Aged, however, it's a different story and the clove takes over and ruins it for me as clove will usually do (March Hare being the only exception so far). I will have to go imp by imp for this one and use each one up fairly quickly! Fresh: 5/5 Aged: 1/5

Yummy Blackberry jam - a bit of booze, but not much which is wonderful for me. Dry there is a bit of black tea which is also delightful. Good stuff...I will be glad to get a bottle! 4/5

Let me say that I'm not a fan of Rose in general. This is beautiful. It sparkles much in the same way that Rose Red sparkles. This isn't the same rose, but it is very pretty. Just a touch of coconut, a bit of orris...just lovely. 4/5 for a non-rose lover.

Finally get a chance to try Dragon's Blood today...LOVE it. As many a reviewer has said, I have smelled many "Dragon's Blood" perfumes, but this one is amazing. I'm surprised how light it is - perfect. Yay for finally finding a perfect Dragon's Blood scent. 5/5

Wet: Peach tea with some strong florals (Jasmine) 15 minutes later - wood and chrysanthemum start to show up Drydown is a lovely faintly peach tea with wood and musk. I like this one quite a bit...it's nice, soft and light. 3/5

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. Sugar Moon '08 is in my top 10. Wet: super duper uber sweet maple sugar (think Maple Sugar Candy) Later: Honestly, this one doesn't morph on me, which is super because I love it. The only difference I find between wet and dry is the throw: this calms down quite nicely. At some point I can detect the Mahogany (which I LOVE), but that's it. I LOVE this. 5++/5 I honestly hope that the 2011 Sugar Moon isn't flowery...

I actually love this. A bit of Rum, with Leather and Tobacco...this is really nice, and I think I could wear this. The drydown is nice - smooth and almost yummy? I'm surprised since Rum is a note that usually makes me a bit nauseous. I may have to get a bottle someday, not high priority though.

Finally got around to trying this one! Wet this smells like a foody Ginger on me...GINGER?! Wha? Yes. After 20 minutes I smelled the Vetiver...and it was the nicest, most well behaved Vetiver I have smelled (next to Devil's Claw). The Neroli does peek out a bit, but not in a "Hi I'm Neroli" way, more like a "Hey there, nice weather we're having, oh I'm a citrus flower" just a nice understated citrus flower as it should be. I still can't get over the Ginger impression in the beginning...it reminded me of Shub-Niggurath. This is actually lovely, but not something I would ever reach for. 3/5

OK...GO! This is a really nice deep/earthy Patchouli with sweet dried Apricots underneath. After about 15 minutes, they flip-flop and the Apricot dominates for a while. After about an hour the Patchouli takes over again and they snuggle together. 4.5/5 on my skin. YUM.

Of all the Sabbat Oils, this is my favorite (or possibly tied with Mabon 2010). I'm truly surprised that I can't pick out one single note - this blend has aged so beautifully that I can't wait to wear it in just a few weeks! This is Spring in a bottle, and I feel fortunate to have found a bottle!
-
I was so excited to obtain this bottle that I forgot to review it! Definitely honey, and I smell Chamomile, Frankincense and Honeysuckle...mmmmm After it settles down a bit, I am so excited about the moss! If the Gardenia makes an appearance, she is very well behaved...don't really care for Gardenia much. There may be a hint of carnation here, but it's hard for me to tell - such a great blend! This really is a great blend for Litha. I'm super happy to have a bottle!

This is one of my top ten favorite BPAL perfumes. Lavender, Vanilla, Amber and musk...yes. I never smell any carnation or roses, but the leaves do peak out after a while. This is a perfume for all seasons...it never gets old. I wear this to bed, and anytime I want to feel comfortable. Another absolutely amazing perfume from BPAL. 5++/5 Eta 10 March 2024- NOW I smell the carnation and grey musk! This is still one of my absolute favorites and always will be.
