I received my decant the other day and immediately tried it out (I love orris). This is a beautiful orris and white musk, as listed. Nothing unexpected here, just simple and lovely. I will enjoy my decant.

This is lovely. I felt an immediate release of some grief I had been holding on to when I first smelled this. The rose, black spruce and ylang ylang are all present and blend together in a way that says that everything will somehow be alright. Just my experience. Auxilium is going to see a lot of use. Notes: Rose otto, black spruce, ylang ylang, hyssop, lemon peel, cedarwood, and myrrh. ETA: I have been wearing this as a sleep blend for at least a week and it is amazing! Lets me fall asleep! I have been calling on this oil often lately, coming out of a strange illness and recovering slowly, in stages, this oil is helping to keep me grateful and helping to balance me out. Valuable and precious. 17 Nov '22

I decided to wear this today in celebration of the Luper update. I forgot how beautiful it is! It has aged really nicely after almost a year. The lotus is such a beautiful grounded floral and pairs perfectly with the vanilla cream. I'm glad I bought a bottle last year.

I love this. There is an obsidian chip in the bottle! ๐ I have worn this a few times and it seems like the first application highlights the notes in the first half of the description - myrrh, opoponax, smoked lavender, etc., and the other notes - green tea, frankincense, etc., are more pronounced during the reapply. Very interesting. I don't get bubble gum from the lotus. I have several varieties of lotus essential oil and I don't pick any up here, which is just fine. To me, this is a smoky ala incense smoke wisping around (does not smell like champa/champaca, etc at all) scent and the green tea really shines when I reapply. I am curious to hear what other folks say! Eta 28 Feb '22 Some note combination is bringing forth an Inez type amberish scent that is incredible!

My decant has rested long enough! At first Neroli is the star. It quickly burns out and finds a Nag Champa blanket and goes to sleep. Eta: this is very strong. Also, I don't smell the clove on me but I smelled it in the waft when I went back into my room, lol. Strong. Big throw. Neroli in a Nag Champa blankie.

I'm finally getting around to testing this one. I had a feeling I would love it so I've been giving my little decant a nice long rest. Oh. Does anyone remember Under the Harvest Moon? Yeah. This shares the same vibe and is also similar scent wise. I love it. Very light but definitely worth wearing.

I have been testing this for a few days and it changes each time. For a few seconds I feel like I can pin it down - the raspberry, the sugar, the amber, the tangerine - but it is a peripheral scent. It is none of what I expect to smell, and yet everything it should be. It is intoxicating. It is atmospheric. It is unique. It shifts like a fog. I love it.

Please understand, this is freshly delivered and I ripped open the box, sniffed and promptly applied. I couldn't help myself! First, I will note that this bottle is not as full as normal (a bit under the bottom of the shoulder) but there's plenty to wear, lol so I'm not too sad. In the bottle, yup, it smelled like Bordello. No joke. I'm pretty sure this is THAT plum. It is gorgeous. On, this seems to be a perfect blend of the new Snake Oil and that dark, sugared plum. Wowza is this beautiful. After about 15 minutes, the plum becomes a bit more prominent - juicy, dark, sweet and with a touch of the tart skin! - but the Snake Oil is still there. I have a feeling this will age well and am so glad I got a bottle. ETA: I forgot to remark how beautiful the label is!!! 04 Jan '22 My review remains the same after a bit of settling - it is dark and gorgeous plum and the new snake oil. ๐

Whoa. This is a beautiful, intense and (yes) glittering scent (no, no glitter, lol). I think there's a piece of citrine in the bottle! ๐ My bottle has been resting for at least a week. I almost passed on this because of the caraway but it doesn't matter. The combination of the ambrette and citrus notes is fantastic. I will try to remember to write more as this blooms on my skin but I really just wanted to put my initial impression out there for now. It is beautiful...and deep! Eta: 5 hours later - holy moly after an hour this has some serious throw! Very gender neutral. It leaned femme for the first bit but leaned masculine after an hour. I loooove it.

I am shocked to be first! This is soooo yummy! The leaves really just provide a soft backdrop for the MOLASSES PUMPKIN COOKIES. Ugh. These cookies are hot out of the oven. I'm not picking out various notes, but I will say it smells like a delicious cookie. Yum.

The Lab's coffee notes rarely smell good to me but I figured I would take a chance on a decant because the rest sounded so amazing... Ugh. Just watered down, burned coffee cream. Nope. The other notes show up after about an hour but it isn't pleasant...with these notes I expected something... more.

This is beautiful: all spruce greenery and sap with a hint of the dead leaf accord in the background. There may be a tiny lift of Ti leaf (I am unfamiliar with Ti) if it is slightly bitter and tangy? If you love spruce, this could be your jam. I love it.

I bought this when it was released and only smelled PEACH and APRICOT from it so I set it aside. I kept trying to decide if I should sell it or not and honestly, the nostalgia of the art made me hold on to it. I am soooo glad I did! Finally giving this a solid wear this morning and NOW I am getting the picture. Does it reflect the color palette of the art? Absolutely. I kept thinking about how springlike this feels, like a Luper, but I am definitely feeling a winter chill while sniffing this and am loving it. Beautiful, complex and worth the wait.

I have had this for a few weeks and am now finally wearing it. If I didn't know the name, I would not guess there was Snake Oil here. The peach brandy is really nice and strong! After about an hour there's a depth of vanilla that edges in but, again, I would never guess Snake Oil. I really like this. So, I'm gonna pretend I don't know the name and enjoy it regardless. (I am really sad about whatever has changed with Snake Oil in the past few years. It has lost its 'muchness'.)

Very nice. Smooth pumpkin spice latte drying down to Snake Oil. Yes, it's the new Snake Oil but I quite like it. It is very light and I am hoping it will get stronger with age. As it is, right now, it is lovely. ETA: The Snake Oil is much more like the old Snake Oil than some newer blends, in my opinion. ETA2: This is becoming a favorite. It is my favorite of all of the Snake Oil variants, new or old (to include Chaos Theory V) and I find myself reaching for it quite often, even just to sniff the bottle.

I love this one. Perfect blend of leaves and fruits, more apricot than anything, I think. I have been overwhelmed by scent lately, but this is not overwhelming at all. Just lovely.

Beautiful. It just arrived so I know it needs a moment but I can't pick out any of the notes, lol. It does remind me of my old favorite Ojon shampoo. Very nice. Eta: This is aging beautifully. It is rare for me to want to wear the same perfume oil two days in a row. The nuttiness went away, the amber is smoldering with the pine and I love it.

I love this. The plum blossom is a nice touch (if you've ever actually smelled a plum blossom, you'll pick it out here - I grew up with a plum tree!) especially coupled with the elder flower (what a beautiful pollen-y quality) and I don't get any of the dreaded aniseed or star anise that made me wait for reviews (thank goodness!) but the elderberries are such a refreshing, and rare, scent I really wanted to try this, and I'm glad I took a chance. The frankincense is the same glowing frankincense from Totality but is less strong here. Very, very nice.

A Karasu Tengu Copulating with the Knot-Hole of a Pine Tree
HerbGirl replied to zankoku_zen's topic in Lupercalia
I immediately got Hugo Boss vibes and was transported back to the late 90s when I loved that juice! It does settle down, in a way that the rose and oakmoss take over that doesn't thrill me but it still works. I will hold on to my bottle to see which notes end up being dominant. Eta: After a few more months (Nov) the pine needles are more prominent and the entire blend is aging beautifully. It is wowing me now. ๐งก -
Hmm. I let this sit for a few weeks in hopes it would settle and wow me. Well, it is apricot and peach, which is nice. I am not smelling anything else :-(. I will wait a bit longer for it to wow me but for now it is very nice fruit ๐ Eta: Not wowing me. I only smell apricot and peach. 05 Jun - yup, still just peach.

Diluted Smut + a bit of patchouli is what I'm smelling. I let this rest for a while because of all of the strong personalities that were listed but there's nothing strong about it. I'm very surprised at how light this is. Eta: I wish I got what everyone else is getting.

POST-MORTEM LAUREATUS Post-Mortem Laureatus, Loghi Kimon. White sandalwood and twining ivy. I seriously cannot believe no one has reviewed this yet! I loved this at Will Call and I love it in my bottle...this is one of the nicest fresh GREEN scents...all Ivy with just a touch of sandalwood underneath. It is kind of loud while it is wet, but the drydown is silky smooth. I detect a wee bit o musk in this while it is drying, kind of like the phantom musk in October...it's good. If you are a fan of green scents without mint, give this a try...it's a 9.5/10 on the Amy scale of love. ETA: This screams Spring to me...even though it will be beautiful year round.

I ordered this just after it was announced because everything sounded wonderful and I adore armadillos. I finally slathered it on this morning and love it. That dry cocoa and bark...and the creamy hint of tobacco is fantastic. This is one of the most comforting scents I have ever smelled and I am glad to have a bottle. ETA I don't get the dirt or dirty smell that other folks mention.

This is a sweet creamy cinnamon vanilla pastry. Nothing complex here, but it smells great. On dry down there is a musky 'yam like' note, I guess. I think I'm trying to avoid the yam because the rest is really nice. It is a bit strange. The amber comes out more and masks the weirdness from the yam note, which is great. This reminds me so much of another perfume oil but I can't think of which one right now. And, once this has been on my skin for an hour, the yam note is gone and this is one of the most beautiful perfume oils I have ever smelled. Eta: I'm wearing this beauty today and finally figured out which oil it reminds me of. The drydown reminds me of Golden Sunrise from last year (plus a hint of cinnamon). I think it's the same amber even though this doesn't list amber cream. I love it.
