About Me
Navigating the fine line between migraines, chemical sensitivities, and a fondness for the BPAL!
Favorite Notes: Leather, Amber, Vanilla, Smoke, Spices, Musks, Resins that aren't Dragon's Blood...
I'm drawn to scents that are on the masculine edge of gender-neutral. However, I'm not at all keen on lavender (or most other florals), which cuts many fougère blends out of the running, and I'm very wary about vetiver, which seems to be a key note in many "masculine" fragrances. Just to make things difficult.
As such, the list came down to a few basic categories (I'm still happy to hear other recommendations from those more knowledgeable than I):
- "Golden" scents: both the drier and warmer sorts of amber (eg. Aureus, Ozymandias, The Lion)
- Spiced resinous scents
- Leather notes
- Snow/Storm/Sea scents (eg. Lightning, Yellow Snowballs, Onduris, Nuclear Winter)
(The foxy/kitsune scents would make up a category of their own, but sadly they all seem to be so overwhelmingly feminine.)
My dream scents are leather, amber, smoke and vanilla, with a touch of spice or resins. Those just sing on my skin - which is entirely appropriate for a singer!
