Cake, cookies, donuts, baked goods, even Cinnabon

Dana O'Shee smells just like an almond milk cake that I make. O is like a honey cake. -
Soft, woody, husky and warm. This smells like autumn without the fruit and spice that is usually portrayed in autumn blends. It is both dry and creamy...a golden brown scent.

The orange blossom and rose are very prominent, much more so than the apple. The honey/incense note is lovely, both lush and light. It is sister to The Brides of Dracula, Fae, Skuld, and O.

Foundation of Fortune
lookingglass replied to joseybird's topic in Prosperity, Success, and Good Fortune
It smells remarkably like Brimstone, which is a GC favoirte of DH's. It is smokey, smoldering ash with a slightly herbal top. Since this came in to our possession we have sold 3 large pieces of artwork...something that has been "in the works" for over 5 years. We got a few grand within the first week. Thank you, Lab, for helping us make our dreams reality. -
Similarities Between BPAL Scents - GC and general discussion
lookingglass replied to Shollin's topic in Recommendations
I second the mention of Bengal; it's much spicier than O, but it has the same yummy honey note. Also Jezebel might be up your alley. And Regan--no honey in that, at least according to the site, but on me it was very honeyish. Bijoux has much of the same green honey note of O on me. Others you may want to try are Skuld, Chimerea, and Snake Oil. DH says that SO is more "powdery" than O... -

Sed Non Satia -
Glory and Majesty, Kokab, God’s Judgement. Immediate top 10. I must have a bottle. Or more. Wet, this is almost all red carnation. Drying down, it gets less floral, more spicy, and creamy (vanilla? almond? skin musk?). It is a red and gold scent to me. Regal and sexy. I love both Alice and Morocco, which I think are both similar to Hod, but Hod wins; it is stronger and more powerful in the carnation dept. Alice is more milky/childlike, and Morocco is more woody. Hod is eating marzipan then having sex on a bed of carnations. I could then make a judgement...

I guess I hadn't bought a GC bottle in a while, but I love the "new" glossy lables! I don't feel like they will smudge.

Maybe you would like Bewitched or Sed Non Satia... -
White flowers and cherry. It reminds me a bit of Eve. It is a clean, strong floral. I don't see myself wearing it often, but it will remian in my Mad Tea Party collection.

Snake Oil Help! Layering it, Snake Pit scents, blends with Snake Oil

Oh, and when I first tried Chimera, I thought it had a similar "undersmell"... I don't any more, though...but they are still 2 of my favorites! -
Pontarlier!

This scent is really throwing me off. Lots of opium and ginger in the bottle, but once I put it on it throws a fakey fruity sweetness. I guess it is fitting, seeing as how this character is a psychiatric Dr.! Dried out the tonka and smoke note is quite creamy and beautiful but I don't think he and I are a good fit.

I love white roses. They are such a delicate, light, alive scent. Here is no exception. It is light and floaty. The resins complement beautifully, and ground it to my wrist. Even DH, who does not care for florals, commented that I smelled beautiful, as he climbed in bed next to me.

Ga-reeeenn, green, green! Even the lavender smells green while wet. Drying down, the green thankfully tones down, and Beth's beautiful lilac emerges (as I love so dearly in Dragon's Eye). The sugar is close behind, candy coating everything, including the tiny bitter lick of absinthe. Not too sour on me, which is very suprising. I'll be holding onto this one for summer, when I want that nice clean feeling.

Snake Oil Help! Layering it, Snake Pit scents, blends with Snake Oil

DEFINATELY Mme Moriarty! IMHO think that Blood Kiss is closer than Blood Lust for that vibe. To add to your list, I think that Eat Me and Black Phoenix also have that thick richness that Snake Oil has. Not that they smell ALIKE... not at all...they just have the same vibe to me. Check out dragon's blood as a note as well...sweet and deep...mmm...You never know what you will like with it! -
Leeeemonyyy! I really have to get off of this one and let it mellow out. Comming back to it a few minutes later: The heliotrope and coconut are letting the lemon get creamy and sweet. There is a deep smoke wafting up behind it. It turns into a slightly musky floral, but there is still a lemon freshness and dust all around. Very strange. I was hopeing for more tuberose, but alas!
-
Lyoneese! I think I have posted 10 times about it today...but I love it! A vanilla aquatic that loves me. It just may love you, too!
-
Neroli...bright green and orange. There is a bitter, grapefruity bite as well. Drying out, it warms up to my skin, becomming ambery...there may be frankinsence in there. Definately a sun god scent.

This is like the lovechild of Skuld, Blood Kiss, Kali and Brides of Dracula on me. The honey is predominant, with the grapes and light floral close behind. I generally fear grape scents, but this is not at all the grape-kool-aid/lollipop/artificial. It's tangy sweet and dense. The earthy tonka/musk accord grounds it all and remains rich through the drydown. I was hoping this would be stronger on the base notes (there are a lot listed), but it fades quickly.

Count Dracula: leathery and clovey
