    Osun

A rose note predominates when this is wet, and softly dries to a powdery honey rose. It reminds me of Indian rose incense or an edible rose body dusting powder. Soft and sexy but great throw and staying power. I will be holding onto my imp!

    March Hare

DH said..."Mmmm, kind of like a craft store". I hate that. I think that it is the nicest apricot blend around. A little too much, though. I have this love/hate thing with apricot and peach. The clove element is very subdued. I was expecting something much more spicy. Not my favorite Wonderland scent so far...I think it is right in the middle...

    Tombstone

Gah! DH just dumped half his imp on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is sharp and cypressy...Then it gets like pencil shavings and balloons. That is my 4 word review. I love vanilla, but I am not feeling the love here...

    Medea

Wet this is very like a wet forrest. The green woods, smokey labdanum. and the warm bite of myrrh evoke a similar magical, misty fresh, slightly fruity vibe of Phantom Queen, Hamadryad, or Bewitched. Drying out the currents emerge...dark plum colored muskiness. The floral notes makes this the true perfume that it is...heady and oriental...mysetious and dark while still very alive and fresh. Love it...

    Recommmendations for Green Scents

Eden, Phantom Queen, and Xiuhulti (or however you spell it!@$%) are also very green, though not like grass, per se.

    Tobacco scents

Perversion is FAB! Some find the tobacco note in Red Lantern prominent...

    Red Lantern

Dense, sweet and spicy, this is like Elegba and Sugar Skull together when it is wet. Dry, it has a similar feel to Hunger...a dark, heady floral. Thick and dark and seductive.

    Brisingamen

Rich, warm, enchanted glory. It is skin with the Spring's first kiss of sun. The blossoms are so delicate, so new. This is sexy, a little bit spicy, and clean. A freshly bathed Goddess! While the amber is rich, the blossoms lighten it, making it a great resin scent that is wearable in the Spring and Summer. Brisingamen is the best of O (but way more amber), Alice and Phantom Queen together. I feel like I have all of my loves on at once! If O was too sweet, Alice was too girlie, and Phantom Queen was just a bit too appley, please try this. If you have never tried ANY of these, try this!

    Seraglio

Oh, I love this one WET. Sweet, rich almond with what smells like an amped up Alice! (it must be the spices=carnation, citus=bergamot and rose that I am associating here with Seraglo). I wish the almond hung on...as I always do. I will definitely be wearing this out tonight! ETA: After re-falling in love with Black Phoenix I am seeing a definite connection. However, I like BP better because I can do without the citrus in Seraglio, and crave the musky incense of BP.

    Siren

Something...nutty, rich, maybe woody. Huh? It dries down to apricot, quite orangey, with a tiny hit of floral, a tiny bite of spice and...pencil shavings? This is not at all what I would expect a Siren to smell like. Oh, well...I can't sing anyway!

    Juliet

After trying Fae, with heliotrope/white musk combo, and thinking that I had died and gone to heaven, I had to try Juliet. I love honeysuckle (I have some tattooed on my shoulder, even...) but I haven't found a BPAL honeysuckle that was "me". Juliet, you are my tender flower... Wet, she is creamy lilies, fresh, light and alive. I get a "Mmmmm, you smell goooood" from the DH, who is no flower fan. 10 minutes later someone around me asks if there is honeysuckle blooming around my house (there isn't!). They have fallen under Juliet's spell. Dry, this is the glorious heliotrope (a light, fresh, vanilla type scent) with the sweet, clean baby laundry scent of white musk. The pear emerges here, for me, like the ripe fruit should smell, right up close to my nose. It is not at all fake or cloying (I am thinking B&B type...it is NOT!!!). She is sister to Fae and Alice. Juliet is light, clean, fresh, and slightly fruity, with a tragic edge. I love it! On the big bottle list for sure!
  12. Have you tried anything with civit? It was origionally squeezed from sex scent glands. Sometimes it goes "poo" on people; on me, it is like death. For some people is IS the scent of sex. I was just looking at the reviews for Satyr. I think it may be really sexy on a man... Something in Blood Kiss is JUST like sex to me, but only when DH wears it.

BPAL scents appropriate for very young children?

Ah, YES! Dragon's Milk is a favorite around here.It is still our monster spray a year later...
  14. Perversion. I was wary of the leather note, but after the drydown it is just a feral quality. There is a slight coconut sweetness like is like hot, clean skin to my nose (not at all like suntan lotion, if you are afraid of that!). It drives me wild.

BPAL scents appropriate for very young children?

I have scented my littlest boy's hair with Honey Moon since he was teeny tiny. Mmmmmm. I second the Dana O'shee. My 4 year old loves Snow White, Eos (because he knows there is honeysuckle and buttercup~his favorites), and O (honey sweet). We are falling in love with Alice all over again, too! We love to check the mail together, especially for swaps packages, secretly hoping for little candies and fruity tea! BPAL brings families together!

    Good flirty scents?

Fae is my flirty scent, but Morocco is pretty damn sassy!
  17. lookingglass

    Eos

I have been waiting so long to try this, and finally, right before Beltane, it is here for me to try. This is really sharp on the jasmine at first. I am so sad. It dries down to a very true honeysuckle, but the jasmine is staying a bit sour, like it always does on me. Dried out, I am trying to fight of the "this smells like a pantyliner" impulse to swap. There is a bit of sweet musk poking out...I think I like it... The jury is still out.

    Usher

Fresh and clean, like French soap, but mixed with the seamy man who washed with it. I can almost do the mint. It is cold. The slight blackberry hint is delicious. It is not for me, and I tried it on the boy, but he gives it a "hm.". For blackberries, musk, and tea, I'll keep Bewitched (it is darker and more feminine).

    Opium Poppy

Heady, sweet, and a little dark, this floral is quite like narcissus to my nose. 'Not as complex as I demand my florals to be. I like her, but I don't love her.

    Euterpe

My new love of carnation, the Spring blooms, and white musk drew me here. I was leery of the lemon, but it turns out it is just perfect in this blend: fresh and clean and inviting for the warm Spring and Summer mornings. It dries out to a sweet, creamy, but still haughty musk. I love it. She is Fae's gifted sister, and she will not be leaving my imp box!
  21. lookingglass

    Smut

Mmmm, NASTY! I was afraid this musk was going to be too dark, but it is ferocious and lovely!Dark and sweet and tangy, it smells great on the boy and myself. I find this more playfully sexual than Snake Oil, like sex and candy...
  22. Morocco is the new, "Mmmmmm, come HERE!" from DH!
  23. lookingglass

    Morocco

MUSK LOVE in the floriental department! Antique Lace's more incensey sister! Morocco smells more pale pink, while Antique Lace is more violet pastel. With a touch of spice that doesn't burn me and a hint of fresh wood, all wrapped up into something completely sexy, fresh, and confident, this is very wearable! It's like a oomphed up vanilla musk! Yuuuuuuum! SLATHER!!!!!!!!!!! MUST have a big bottle!
  24. lookingglass

    Vechernyaya

Three white musks with poppy and patchouli. I keep going back and forth on this one. I really have to slather to get the inital cold blast of the white musk. The patchouli is STRONG on me, very nutty and woody, like others have said; this is a big surprise to me, because I was expecting that characteristically earthy smell to just be binding the musks together. Ah, well. This is quite manly for my tastes. I really didn't EXPECT this from this scent! It is like a rich old man. A damn good smelling rich old man, but STILL. When I think of a glittering star I do not think of a rich old man. I need to just enjoy the white musk...wipe away the preconceptions. There is a creaminess there. Beth's white musk is the only one I have ever liked EVER and she is here! Center stage! Why did someone say PEANUT BUTTER?!#%& I smell peanut butter!!!!!!!!!!!! Think: night sky...bright stars...your beloved white musk! I think I need an attitude adjustment.

    Suspiro

"Ylang ylang, I thought that Skuld was the only exception to me hating your guts!" How is this blend so deliciously creamy? I would never have thought so from the description. Is that the lily and orchid combo? Jasmine is there, being a bit of her sour self, but the delicate OMG white floral dominates. I am not going to get a big bottle or anything (my loves in this category are Skuld and Sacred Whore), but if you are looking for something lighter and slightly less sweet or spicy than my 2 faves in parenthesis there, than go for Suspiro.
