I think it's a check that CCNow runs to make sure the charge will go through ok. I remember reading about it somewhere on the forums. Did you try looking through the FAQs?

I waited a full year to try this scent, so here goes! (2011 Version) In the bottle, October smelled very dry and unforgiving. Like it was criticizing me for buying several bottles of it unsniffed. Quiet, you! On skin, there's definitely white sandalwood in this. There's also a timid little pink-y musk in the veeery back, and some pale green stuff that comes and goes. The Little Musk That Could peeks out a bit more after October dries, but it's still mostly sandalwood on me. Overall, this is very different that I expected! It's nothing like the description on me. The leaves are yellow and brown, papery and fallen, not red at all. There's no smoke or sap, and the chill air winds through a calm morning wood right before the frost, rather than in mercurial October. Still, I like it even if between this and Post-Mortem L. I'll never need another white sandalwood scent again! Fake edit: I walked back into the bedroom (where I put October on), and it smells like TREEZ. Wild, unruly, green and yellowish birchy things tromping around and settling in my nostrils. Darned teenaged ents *grumble grumble back onto the lawn*! I'm really wishing I had this as a room spray. With Earl Grey mixed in. MMMM.

La Mort: Mon ironie dépasse toutes les autres!

I thought this was going to be the absolute, no-holds-barred winner of the 'Weenies for me, but alas. In the bottle, it smelled..medicinal? But not in a cough syrup way, just kinda funky. Undaunted (as lots of blends smell strange before they touch skin), I continued. While wet, the pomegranate was light and juicy, which isn't my favorite way to smell it, sadly. There was a little background shuffling of other notes, but no rose at all (my skin eats rose, no surprise there). As it dried, the champaca flower (also known as 'the note that ruined Anubis for me') amped up to an insane degree and took over everything else, including the wimpy pomegranate. Great. I almost had to wash it off so I would be able to eat lunch, but the champaca nightmare faded mercifully before I reached my breaking point. At least I know to avoid champaca flowers at all costs now (including waaay too many 2011 Yules in the process), but I'm still disappointed. -
I bought Herb Girl's poor little Sogg, so here's my take on him: In the bottle: This is really interesting! Kind of sparkling and slightly candy-ish, with a little citrus bite. Very nice and unique. While wet: The grapefruit comes out more, along with something gentle-smelling and fuzzy. (Green musk?) My skin makes it sweet, like it does flippin' everything. Dry: It gets a little powdery-er, but not in a gross way (no baby butts or old ladies). More of a dry-musk way, which makes sense. The grapefruit recedes, and the orris and moss do a nice little jig for my nostrils. Like someone above me said, this gets very snuggly and adorable. There's not much throw, and it's extremely inoffensive without being flat or boring. This was different than I expected but overall very nice. Glad I snagged this little guy, he's a keeper! 4 out of 5!

I bought this one for the ivy. I totally did, and I don't regret it one bit. In the bottle, it smells like white sandalwood with a dark green note, which it is. So far so good. When still wet, the leatheriness of the sandalwood rapidly fades into a peppery spice, then warms up and brightens. The ivy's just kinda chillin', which is cool with me. When dry, it's mostly the same, maybe a little more powder-ish, but not much. It's more pepper than powder on me. There's almost no throw, but there's plenty of scent hanging close to my skin. The ivy? Still chillin'. S'aight. It's hazy, in a way, but warmer than the picture would suggest and overall really nice! 4.5 out of 5 sounds about right. I'm glad I grabbed a couple of bottles of this.

Seconding this! I mean, I'll snag one with the next Lunacy anyway, but I'm curious.

BPAL for headaches, pain, colds, seizures, sickness, illnesses...
endlessrains replied to Tesseljoan's topic in Recommendations
I might have inadvertently found a scent that could be helpful to anyone here who gets terrible migraines like I do. I was sniffing my bottles to find something that would help me sleep a particularly bad one off when I took a whiff of Phoenix in Summer. It took the edge off instantly! So I slathered it on, naturally, and within 5 minutes the pain was completely gone, which is something painkillers have never managed to do for me. Weirdest (but quite possibly the best) thing I've ever seen (or smelled? )! So I guess it's worth a shot if you're desperate for relief! After more headache-testing, it seems to work best on tension-type headaches. Sinus ones don't benefit much, but that wasn't too suprising.
