This one did not work for me. It started out floral, turned soapy, dried down head shoppy floral. Will retest, though. ADDED Feb. 12: Much better today. Though I am surprised: I thought this would be a power punch kinda musk and it's turning out to be very, very soft. Quite nice, though. Think of it as a shy and coy dragon. This one breathes kisses instead of fire.

Wow, what a ride... In the bottle: WTF #$@##?!?! Wet on skin: I totally get the vanilla coke and fresh cut grass thing. It's also medicinal and weird. Drying: getting more and more balsamic, powdery, smoky... nice. Drydown: And I do get the Fumerie Turque resemblance loud and clear. Verdict: I like it. Can't wait to see what it does when it ages. ETA: oh no... the staying power sucks. It's already gone after 3 hours. Edited again, August 9th: Well now. All the people who advised on aging Snake Oil weren't kidding, what a switch! No more coke and cut grass, no more Fumerie Turque, although there is a faint and short lived resemblance to Ambre Narguile, but that's very subtle and doesn't last. Instead, Snake Oil has become its own original fragrance, it's deep, resinous, mysterious, exotic, sultry, jaw dropping sexy and omg is it long lasting! I put it on yesterday around midday and I can still smell it. It's musky, spicy, soft, dark, conjures up images infused in copper glow, gentle fragrant winds, silky hair, satin skin and velvet eyes... And what a nuzzler! Mr. TM spent the entire night with his face and hands entertwined in my hair and he keeps coming back to catch more whiffs. This stuff is unbelievable. I'm a convert.

In the vial: Salty ylang. Quite nice. Wet on skin: Myrrh explosion, very resinous, a little bitter but still soft. Drydown: The scent of glorious nudity. Powdery, soft sandalwood, gently musky with only a trace of the ylang and myrrh. But a persistent trace. This is an intimate, personal scent, for me. Not extroverted sexuality like a giant screaming crotch flying in your face, but a whisper, a caress with very little words. I keep getting visuals of a white cotton shirt unbuttoned to reveal satiny skin on the collar bone area with a cascade of silky hair falling in. Verdict: I love this one and I plan to never be without it.

Thank you for the freebie! I decided to test this one first because hormones are kicking my sense of smell into high gear, so I'll save the spicier ones for another day. Ooooooooh this is pretty. But the name only applies to the topnotes. On me it's mostly jasmine, lily, and musk, with a slight woodsy backdrop. Delicate, innocent, fragile, at first. The drydown brings out an unexpected naughtiness, very subtle but definitely there. I have no idea what is causing this but I'll take it! I'm seriously wanting this with my next order.
