Olfactory caffeine: Wake up, Stay Awake with BPAL
PixieSkull replied to friendthegirl's topic in Recommendations
Dragon's Heart perks me up and it lasts a decent amount of time on me. I love that it's nice and spicy and fruity, it's a very nice combination. -
In the imp: Sweet Frangipani on top with a thick liquid soap scent underneath Wet/Drydown: Smells like powdery soap. I can barely detect any of the florals mentioned in the description. I do smell some sort of rain incense smell in the middle, though. Overall: Didn't amaze me, would be lovely on someone else if that person's body would cooperate and make it softer.

In the bottle: Sweet sweet florals, smells similar to a ripe pear On me: Beautiful... oh my god this is LOVELY! A nice, sweet floral. It's like a rose soaked in other flowers' essential oils. It smells like a boquet of roses, daisies, babies breath and ivy. Overall: It's such a beautiful blend that I find myself wearing it most days of the week. I bought this off eBay because the price looked good, didn't care if I even liked it because I could pawn it off on my mom if I needed. And, WOW, was I surprised by how gorgeous the scent is on me. Feminine, soft, sweet, watery florals. Nice for lukewarm spring days or crisp fall days or on the porch on a still summer evening. It's great for all occasions. Edit: BEAUTIFUL to mix with Catherine, the harsh rosemary in Catherine is calmed down a bit.

In the imp: Cinnamon and peanut butter Wet: Sweet sweet cinnamon and a resiny bottom note Dry: A lot of the same, but less brutally sweet Overall: Cinnamon makes me paranoid and something makes me want to sneeze hardcore if I stick my nose really close. Boyfriend thought it smelled funny/off. Won't wear it due to the peanutbutter smell, but it's nice in it's own right. More of a ritual usage perfume.

In the imp: Coconut creme soda, sweet fresh coconut, other sweet kind of nutty smell Wet: Sweet, fresh, watery coconut! It's BEAUTIFUL... like sipping a coconut rum and coke in the middle of a tropical garden. Dry: Becomes a darker coconut as the day progresses and the super-sweet top note fades quite a bit. Overall: Malibu and coke = good; smelling like it = great! I was very impressed by this scent with how the coconut smelled real and that I could actual get a little hazelnut out of the mixture. It lasted relatively long and was beautiful after working out for an hour or so. Would like to have more.

In the imp: Green rose and dusty, rich woods Wet: Same, but the rose has become a very sweet rose. Dry: Mellows out to a warm wooded rose scent Overall: On it's own, it's not intensely attractive but it blends well with Hymn so I'm keeping it around for that purpose.
-
In the imp: Watery, almost as if ozone is in the mix. Nice dry husky scent underneath Wet: The same, but no more ozone-like scent. Dust and old rose Dry: Fresh floral stems and greenery, old roses with dusty resin. Overall: It's lovely, soft and sensual. I love it and want to keep it around. I've tried it maybe 4 times now and it's just as lovely every single time. Beautiful scent, the name describes it wonderfully. Grade A fragrance, I recommend it to everyone looking for a church scent, right next to Cathedral. (ETA: I find it blends extremely well with Seance, perfect holy space smell.)

In the imp: Strong Myrrh with citrusy floral behind. Wet: Almost all myrrh, very strong resin scent. The rose comes out after a few minutes with the jasmine. Dry: I thought I would smell great, and for the next 4 hours I smelled like sex. Nice, husky, sexual power. Boyfriend sniffed me and said "Wow, sex!" after the rose came out. As usual, the jasmine went to powder but it worked for the full effect. Powdery sweet floral, husky resin, watery floral... together it's lovely. Overall: I knew I'd love it, and I do so much that I may turn this into a perfume stick. Seems I may find some use of this around the boy... I think I'm converting him to the smelly stuff on me. I may convert him to use yet!

In the imp: Can smell rose and jasmine Wet: Somewhat plasticy smell that is the vanilla and/or tonka bean, rose developing a bit more fresh, the fig comes out a little more. Dry: Lovely background of rose with the fig and vanilla or tonka bean on top. Can't pick out jasmine anymore (Thanks god, I think so far.) Overall: Wasn't sure the first time if it was a me scent, but after a few tries I love it. It's a very slow and lethargic feeling when I wear this scent, but in a good "I caught everything perfectly" way. It's very sensual and feminine in a dark, dusky way. I want more! ADDED Oct. 23: In the imp: Oh, tonka smells like this. Rose slight, little bitter Wet: Spicy vanilla/tonka/floral, somewhat dry Drydown: Sexy, sweet spicy, foody Overall: One of my favorite scents. I can wear it to school, to work, for my boyfriend. It smells so beautiful I don't want to run out. After a few years of enjoying this, even letting it age and letting it get better, this has become a love to layer. This layers well with Shub for extra sweet, gingery goodness or Hymn for a bit more sweet incense-y depth.

Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here
PixieSkull replied to ipb's topic in Recommendations
Everyone's saying Blood Rose, and by jove, I agree! Being not in the mood pretty much at all for weeks, I was surprised at how Blood Rose made me feel so sexy and ready to pounce. I believe I attacked the SO as soon as he walked into my room in a flurry of kisses and hugs. I added a little Dragon's Heart right over top of the somewhat-faded Blood Rose and he really liked that combo. He smelled at my neck and said "Mmm... I really do like this scent on you!" when he has never said anything nice about the way I smell before. Needless to say, I take care to wear them around him when I'm feeling playful. Meow, I'd shag myself rotten if I could manage to pounce on myself -
Best BPAL for gym, workout, sports, exercise?

I'm not one that's fond of smelling strong perfumes while I'm dancing, working out, whatever. Granted, I don't really go anywhere to work out because I'm so damn lazy and all that, but it still annoys me. That being said, Blood Rose was amazing on me without the sweating, but even better with it. After an hour of heavy dancing and walking across campus in lovely heat, my wrists smelled heavenly and my sweatshirt did, too. I found Black Pearl is a gorgeous scent when I wear it in the crook of my arm. It spreads really well and I'm really fond of the coconut in it. After doing some extensive warmups today, it melted so well to the rest of me. Kumiho's a favorite scent, probably my most favorite if I could choose just one, and it smells so clean. It would be a lot like the other citrusy tea scents, lovely for neutral situations. Mmm... I could see using a little bit of these in a conditioner before working out. I'd probably do that from now on for the whole sweating my ass off thing. -
In the imp: Dragon's blood! I can smell the pepper peeking through a little bit, wouldn't have been able to tell if I hadn't read the list of ingredients. Wet: Dragon's blood's top note making way to clove. Out comes the clove and the cinnamon. Dry: Taking a deep breath is almost painful because the dbr is so fruity, but the clove and cinnamon make me want to cough. Overall: I like it, but Dragon's Heart is my dbr scent for now
-
In the imp: Freshly opened bottle of cold red wine Wet: There's that wine again, but there's a scent of fresh roses underneath it. Lovely and sweet. Dry: Something darker and smoky is underneath the merlot, I think it's the leather, but it doesn't overpower. I think the florals are mingled in with the merlot so well that I can barely tell which is which. The musk is lovely, too. I get the musk right after the merlot Overall: I think I honestly love this scent, it's very sexy. Definately a keeper imp, I MIGHT buy more of it for a spray or something similar. Yummm sexy!
-
In the imp: Humid, lemon, honeysuckle Wet: Humid floral scent throws really well already! Dry: Soft florals mingle together like a lemon-based mixed drink Overall: All I get is Honeysuckle and jasmine. While this is lovely, it's not something I would wear... I think I may be allergic to jasmine but it's allergy season so I'm not sure if it's that or not. Probably not going to keep it.
-
In the imp: Nice carnation, a citrus in the background, lots of resin Wet: Lovely floral incense. Carnation still! Neroli and Jasmine are there, too. Patchouli comes out in the end of the whiff, nice. Drydown: Softens up. The resins tone down a little, as do the florals. Sadly, the neroli stays strong. Yet another Neroli-based scent. The carnation is lovely here. Overall: I like it, but I don't know when or where I would wear it. Not so sure I'll keep it, but I'll think about it.
-
In the imp: Pleasantly sweet, fruity floral. A sweet candy, like the Japanese floral candies. Wet: Reminds me of my boyfriend's shampoo and conditioner, therefore I'm loving this stage. Can't pick out anything right now, but it smells like lovely soft flowers and wet ground. Beautiful and soft! Drydown: Now there are some herbs coming through, nice and dark green. The soft florals are moved a little further back so that they all mingle and mix evenly. Still lovely. Overall: Will definately keep the imp, probably not a big bottle need. Lovely soft, floral scent that would be perfect for a cool spring day.
-
In the imp: Sweet, spicy, peanut butter. I'll try it anyways, why not. Wet: Still that spicy, gritty, peanut-buttery smell. Drydown: I'm assuming the same, didn't keep it too long. Some pine in it. Overall: Gross, too strong, not me. Bye bye, Brimstone.
-
In the imp: Cool Whip... with a little greenery behind it. Wet: Dry, dusty something. Not roses straight out yet, but still okay. Drydown: Powdery note on top, dusty rose underneath, and a soft musk twisting the rose a little bit. Overall: Not something I'd normally like. Cathedral will work in it's stead.
-
In the imp: Crisp, clean, watery floral with a lemon-like citrus in the waaay background. There's almond somewhere in the middle notes. There's a fruit besides the citrus, more like a gentle watery fruit. Wet: Still got the lemon-citrus, but the ozone came out to spoil the day at the end of the wet period. I don't even remember getting the fruity bit to come out. Drydown: Laundry detergent. Ozone. Not me. Overall: I'm done with ozone scents, it's just NOT an Emily note. Swap away for someone that likes ozone.
-
In the imp: Fruity floral with strong orange blossom and bergamot being bitter in the front. Wet: The bergamot and orange blossom mix well, can't detect any sweet clove yet. Neroli somewhat hiding behind the bergamot, strange as it's a note my skin likes. Very fruity, suspect the mimosa and orange blossom want to play. Drydown: Soap. I'm thinking orange blossom turns to soap on me, because I can smell the Neroli still. The bergamot disappeared entirely and I have no clue what mimosa smells like. Overall: No use to keep it, would be nice on someone else but not me. Swapping away.

Exactly what I was going to say! I saw lilac in the title and immediately thought of Sea of Glass. I knew I was going to like it when I tried it, sounded very serene and very Emily. It smelled like lilac bushes near sand and lake. It's the PERFECT lilac scent... the best smelling version of lilac, too.
-
In the imp: Frankincense, strong and light rose Wet/Dry: Soft fresh florist shop rose with a frank bottom note Overall: Not bad, but not something I need madly. Will be swapped away.
-
In the imp: Warm greens, chilly mint Wet: strong peppermint smell with the warm greens coming forward a little better. Dry: citrusy green peppermint Overall: Was expecting something a bit more electrifying, but it was okay. Probably swap away if anyone would like it.
-
In the imp: Not quite a citrus, but a fruity scent with a sugar undertone Wet: The fruity scents mingle and the chocolate underneath swirl in the air, not blending too well but not horribly unpleasant. Dry: After literally a minute, the milk chocolate scent comes out and it's like one of those chocolate oranges and chocolate raspberries... it's really decadent and lovely. Overall: Didn't think I'd like the sweet foody scents, but I love the way the chocolate comes out of this one. Lasted for a while of shopping with my dad so it may stay... unless there's such a good deal in a swap that I can't miss out kinda thing.
-
In the imp: Dragon's Blood mixed with paint. Wet: DBR for sure with a light, sweet floral scent on top. Dry: The DBR warms up and mingles with the light floral, playful and sexual. Overall: The boyfriend thought I smelled sexy, finally a reaction! It also could be the fact that he hadn't seen me in a week, but prolly not. I like it, I will keep it for sexy times.
