I've been away from BPAL for about a year or so and I'm having trouble finding some scents for inspiration since I haven't been keeping up with LE. I'd like to find some scents that are reminiscent of a seductive young girl in nature. I know there's Lolita (Which I absolutely adore) and Jailbait which I have yet to try. I like the concept behind both, Jailbait is especially interesting. I like the bubblegum with womens perfume for a sort of tainted side. Are there any others sort of sweet and sugary with a dark side to them? Or just sort of a perfume that's both young and innocent but with a sinful side. I'm also curious if Loli Goth would be one anyone would recommend for this, since I've yet to try it. Also, I have tried some scents inspired by literal nymphs. Does anyone have a list of those? (Any for, er, nymphomanic inspired scents as well?) Sort of a seductive young maiden is perfectly fine too. I recall some of the courtesan perfumes being a bit like this, but I never managed to grab one. Something with sort of a 1950s flair might be fun too, since I've been inspired by the old Lolita movie lately. Basically anything you'd think would fit the bill for very Lolita/nymphet inspired type scents. Thanks!

When your favorite GC blends are discontinued

I got an imp of Serpents with Glittering Eyes and Forky Tongues when I was still a newbie to the world of BPAL and thought it to be nothing special. Now I highly regret not getting it... After many other orders, I have not found one I could call close to it and it's quirky and unique to me. I'm also desperately in love with The Hesperides and want something close to it so very badly. Can anyone recommend me something similar to either of these? Also, something close to La Belle Dame Sans Merci and Utrennyaya would be great too. -
I bought a bottle of this immediately after the RPG line came out. I love all things RPG and elves are by far my favorite race, from everything from D&D to Warcraft. The description alone sold me... despite me being a little wary of early reviews. (Metallic? In my golden scents?) The idea of an immortal, golden perfume with a forest-like fusion was right up my alley. In the bottle: Aspen. That sharp woodsy, almost cypressy smell most poeple are probably to describe? That's absolutely aspen. Aspens are native here and I can recognize that note from anywhere. Seeing fall aspen leaves quake in the wind is something beautiful and leaves a very golden image to me... ...however, this is a surprisingly weak, watery and almost metallic aspen. That isn't a good sign when I read ingredients that seem to want to be a very golden forest-like smell. In fact, aspen is actually so prominent I cannot even pick out the other notes at all. Everything drowns in sharp, watery aspen. Wet: Watery and weak, I look down at my hands a little worried. Only aspen is showing itself through. I feel like it needs to be toned down considerably if Elf is to even let out other notes. The scent is not much different from the bottle. I'm hoping it dries nicer... Dry: But again, sharp metallic aspen and only aspen. I was hoping for a lot of changing of notes and to smell more of the "golden scents"... but this really is an almost a one-note scent for me! I'm amazingly disappointed in this blend in the end. I'm not sure if it is just me, but this feels more like a prototype than a finished product. (That being said, now I'd now love to try some Elf prototypes! Hit me up!) I cannot say it is unwithstandable, by any means. I do enjoy now having an aspen scent and the bottle art is lovely. I think I will be keeping it for that in and of itself... and of course, the sentimental connection to elves as well. Simply put, it's a nice, one-note aspen or sharp forest perfume, but I'm afraid it is not much else.

An imp gifted from the lab. You know, at first I didn't like this one. Non-descriptive cents such as "clean laundry" or "crisp spring air" do not tell me what a scent is composed of nor what it's meant to smell like. Just nice images. "Milk cresting on an ocean wave."... so when I read this instead of an ingredient list, my logical head goes... what is that? Most of the time, it makes me assume some strange list of unknown chemicals had to be used to get this exact smell. That's when I usually shy away from these types. Perhaps it was this preconditioning that really made me misjudge this one. Boredly sniffing through my imps again, I came across it. I like this one. This is one of those genuinely good crisp and clean scents. It's unique and pleasant to boot, especially if you're into the lighter, airy scents. Wet: The oddest mix of "clean" and this softness it falls back onto. I would not call this succulent milky, if you are hoping for that. It's more like that softness keeps it from being outright "crisp" and "sharp". There's a nice milky tone to this scent you do not get in many "aquatic" type scents. Speaking of aquatic, I smell no saltiness in this one. It's not like a "salty ocean", if you are hoping on that. Dried: It's still very pretty and the good notes, "clean" and "milky" are still so prominent that anything else I don't like is so irrelevant. So distant, I can hardly pick it up at all. A bit later: "Oddly milky" as best as I can describe it. Almost flowery, but not quite... just a very pleasant fade and it's thankfully staying on my skin very well. I am really happy to see that. It's a very good scent and I do recommend it. Would I get a bottle? My frivolous, quirky loving side who likes uniqueness says yes, maybe someday. I'm hoping to find more scents like this from BPAL and get those as well.

I was really happy to buy up a bottle of this, as it's my first Lunacy! I was interesting to see how some of these once a full moon mixes are. Wet: That sugar is sharp! A spike of sugar with dark, dark florals. It has an unpleasant dual-nature to me: Dark and heavy as well as that pungent, sugar spike... making sinuses scream, immediately giving me a bit of a smell-induced headache! Yeah, it's going to be one of those scents for me, unfortunately. It is too hard to distinguish any flower in and of itself. It's an overwhelming dark bouquet. Dry: Not very pleasant. I still cannot stomach it's strength and the flower mix is just as overwhelming for me now as it was wet. I cannot smell the teak or carrot seed at all, much to my disappointment. The strawberry is unusual, but I have to fight past the other dominant smells to even catch hints of the fun quirkiness there. After a while: I can finally smell those dark currants and some of those violet musk notes on me! It's faded into a very delicious scent. I could care less about the sugar and some of the strong flowers at this point. The violet, plum, and currant settles it into a beautiful dark mix finally. ..more a very dark, floral moon than anything super sugar-sugary to me. It's too pungent for my tastes. I'd sadly equate this one to those mixes that hit me in department stores as I walk down the perfume aisle: Indistinguishably floral, spikey, and a real headache. I find deep floral perfumes to be such a gamble and this one just didn't sink well with me, unfortunately. I think the mix is poor myself, especially when I was hoping to distinguish some of the large array of interesting ingredients used in this.
