This sounded so interesting that I had to try it. Sweet and savory at the same time. It's kind of like oatmeal cookies, kind of carrot cakey -- neither of which are foods I actually like eating, but the smell is kind of good. However this becomes almost herbal during the drydown and gets far less baked goods-like, unfortunately. I wish it just stayed in the wet phase. I've also noticed a faint tingling on the skin of my inner elbow where I applied this, so I'm obviously somewhat sensitive to one of the ingredients. No rash like I've encountered with a few of the more spicy BPAL oils, so not too bad, but still slightly uncomfortable.

This definitely smells just like wood and fresh sprigs of thyme. It's interesting, but I don't know how much I'll wear it.

The beeswax is definitely at the forefront of this one. But I get the strawberries and candy in there as well. There's some note in here that's kind of harsh and plasticky, especially during the wet phase. It mellows out a bit as it dries but still... there's something not quite working for me. I wish I knew what it was.

This is boozy and fruity with just a hint of leather... delicious. Unfortunately it is very fleeting, seemed almost completely gone less than an hour after application.
-
Oof. I almost didn't want to skin-test this, as it smelled so bitter and horrible in the vial. But, we all know sometimes that changes once a scent is applied... It doesn't seem to be changing much, though. :/ Bitter, dark, rotting flowers, as far as I'm concerned.

Soft tobacco. It's mostly sweet, but there's definitely a hint of bitterness. I don't find this to be a smoky tobacco or opium though. This one doesn't seem to change much as it dries -- it's a fairly straightforward scent. Unoffensive, but I have other tobacco scents that I like far better so I don't think I need to hang on to this one.

I thought I would like this as I usually love fruity, berry scents, but there's some note in here that turns very nasty on my skin. Like chemically burning plastic bad. It's just in the background, but it's enough to ruin this one for me, unfortunately.

My boyfriend said this smells like gin and he's not far off. It's very herbal as well, though, and probably too soapy for me. Green scents don't usually work for me, and this one is very, very green. Just not my style, really.

This is light and quite a pretty, unusual floral -- I usually despise most florals but I don't completely hate this one. I guess it's the rosewood in it, since I do like woody scents. Still, I'm pretty indifferent towards it.

Carnation, posies, and white amber with a hint of inky treacle, sandy cider, and wooly wine. This is actually a very light, crisp floral... not really what I was expecting. I haven't had very good luck with apple cider notes before, but this one isn't immediately awful on me. I honestly can't decide if I like it... may need to wear it a bit more.

Curiouser and curiouser. Milk and honey with rose, carnation and bergamot. Grass and almond cookies. I know those aren't really the listed notes, but that's what this smells like to me.

Yummy, delicious, sweet vanilla cake. This is like the foodiest, cakiest scent ever and I'm loving it. Just a slight hint of fruitiness. I really need to reach for this one more often... I feel like eating my arm right now.

Yep, this definitely smells like bubblegum. With a little bit of something floral. I'm not really getting any musk at all, actually. This does seem fruitier after it dries, I guess I can get grapefruit and "strawberry leaf" from it. I don't think this one will be a favorite, but it's interesting enough for me to keep the imp... for now.

Dark, herbal, medicinal. Something about this is very bitter and swampy, I'm not sure how wearable it is for me.

Wet, this is very herby and dark, quite bitter. Kind of smells like a pine car air freshener -- you know, the kind you hang from a car's rearview mirror. I like it a little better as it dries and mellows out, but I really don't think this is one I will reach for. To the swaps pile it goes!

A creeping, wet, slithering scent, dripping with seaweed, oceanic plants and dark, unfathomable waters. Pure dishwasher detergent.

In the bottle, the patchouli is most prominent. Wet on skin, though, all I get is slightly bitter, resiny benzoin. A few minutes later, this gets quite woodsy and I guess there's something that COULD smell like silk? But I might just be giving into suggestion from the listed notes. The vanilla comes out a bit more as this dries down, but it stays pretty true to its sweet, mellow woodsiness. I actually wish the patchouli came through more on me? This reminds me a LOT of another bpal scent I have an imp of somewhere but I can't for the life of me remember which one. I'll have to update when I think of it...

In bottle, this is all sweet, fruity red wine. But that note drops to the background pretty quickly once applied, and it becomes more about the caramel, vanilla, and a suntan-lotion-y coconut. But wait, then the red wine comes back! It's very sweet though, more grape juice -- or maybe it's Manischewitz. This one seems to morph a lot, and is super complex. But it's absolutely delicious in all of its phases. LOVE. So glad I blind bought a bottle of this.

Yeuckkkk. This one is far too green for me. It does smell pretty much exactly like a freshly mowed lawn, so if you're into fresh, grassy, "clean" scents I'm sure you'll love this.

In the bottle: smoky chocolate and black pepper Wet on skin: The clove and black pepper in this are spicy and delicious set against a bittersweet chocolate backdrop. This is deep and dark and sexy. I love it. It mellows out a bit once dry, but stays pretty true. This is unlike any of the other MANY chocolate scents I own, so I'm pretty damn happy with it.

Vanilla, saffron, and cream. 2016 version: True to the listed notes -- this is pure vanilla, cream, and saffron. Delicious!

This is nice. The leather in it is very soft and subtle, not nearly as strong and dark as I expected, and of course the honey helps to sweeten it up. There's something almost... floral about this? But it's actually very light scent that plays close to the skin.... not at all what I expected from the name!

This is all warm spice on me at first -- it almost smells like turmeric or something similar! There is something deep and resiny, which I'm guessing is the benzoin, though I'm not exactly sure what that smells like. The spices start to mellow out a bit during the drydown. I love the fig and caramel-y sweetness of this too. This reminds me in some ways of Red Lantern, though they don't actually smell all that similar other than both being caramel and spices. In any case, I love both of them.

So, I'm not a huge fan of snake oil, but I LOVE honey notes. This is deliciously beeswaxy. Like a really, really good vanilla candle.

Bitter green floral. I don't get any patchouli, which is a bummer for me. The notes here don't really do anything for me, unfortunately -- this somehow manages to smell both musty and like dishsoap at the same time. :/
