Sweet scents, sugar notes & things that smell like candy
blackheartedangel replied to voila's topic in Recommendations
yemaya reminded me of grape/melon candy or gum! -
oh wow... this is cake in a bottle! when i first opened it, beaver moon came to mind -- but like shelldoo said, there is something (blackberry/bourbon?) sweeter and sharper coming through. when first applied to the skin it remains similar to how it smelled out of the bottle, but as it dries the red velvet cake comes through. this is a seriously delicious oil. i can't stop smelling my wrist!!!

this reminds me a lot of budding moon, i suppose since they share plum blossom and peony. i do prefer peony moon, though! it's a very nice sweet pink floral, but with just enough of the reeds/woods to keep it grounded. this is a great spring oil!

hi angstkitten i just recieved a cns for my 2/13 order on 3/9, so i wouldn't get too worried. it's possible that your order may be held up because one of the oils you ordered is out of stock and they're awaiting a new batch. you might want to check the BPAL FAQ section of the forum for threads on shipping times, or you might want to email customer service at : answers@blackphoenixalchemylab.com they are always super-friendly and helpful!

i nocnitsa. it smells just like walking through cold, damp woods ... it really transports me there. as nocnitsa dries, it becomes sweeter ... perhaps the night-time air? somehow this scent is comforting/relaxing to me, regardless of the name!

1. place tootsie roll on plate 2. grate some orange zest on top 3. sprinkle with white tea leaves 3. place an iris next to the plate that's 13 obviously my nose can't pick out notes very well this is an extremely intricate blend, and although i can't see myself wearing it very often, i have to keep it because it's amazing

my equation for this perfume oil ... absinthe - anise + vanilla musk + light spice and a drop of honey = la fee verte i'm very glad this was a *variant* on absinthe (all the herbs used to make absinthe except anise) because i detest anise. i have a bottle of absinthe here, and the anise smell is overwhelming out of the bottle this oil smells very green, with a citrus note (i think this is the melissa, AKA lemon balm) initially on the skin it smells basically the same as in the bottle, but as it starts drying it becomes softer, and slowly the melissa backs off. hours later, when dry, la fee verte smells like lightly honeyed vanilla musk, just a hint of spice in the background. overall, i love this blend! definatly one to hoard thank you beth, labbies, and the trading post! i balthazar & la fee verte

In the bottle : Reminiscent of Red Phoenix, probably the black plum & patchouli, but the dry spicyness (cassia?) of Red Phoenix is not there. Hellion still definatly has spicyness to it, but smells sweeter out of the bottle. Wet on skin : sweet, spicy, dark musk, nag champa incense Dry on skin : spicy, but much more mellow -- ripe black plum, dark musk, nag champa incense and the scorched sandalwood is in the backround and doesn't overwhelm the other notes. Conclusion : This smells like the best incense ever made!!! I am in love with this blend. I'm so glad that I caved and bought both statues. I'm definatly hoarding Hellion. Thank you Beth & the trading post, I'm so happy w/Hellion & Seamus

I had my hopes up for baneberry, the description sounded like something I'd really like. Unfortunatly, it reminded me of some soap or shampoo (can't place which one ... ) and although it smelled good -- sweet berries w/an herbal undertone -- it just reminded me too much of some synthetic smell that I couldn't imagine wearing it as a perfume.

ok, as I read the first few pages of reveiws on this oil, I thought maybe I was going crazy...or maybe got a mislabeled imp?? Finally when I got here most recent reviews, I saw that some people smelled what I smelled from the imp -- WINTERGREEN!!!! Pure freakin wintergreen...weird!!! As it dried down I thought I could smell some woods behind it (but that's probably just my mind thinking ... wheres all the foresty smells???) but that's it! Very strange ... I wonder if something possibly happened to a recent batch?? Now, I really like wintergreen .. in my lifesavers!! Not as a perfume

Out of the imp, this smells overwhelmingly of cherry cough drops or syrup. I didn't have my hopes up at that point, but once applied to my skin, the red musk & amber appear as well as the strawberry and vanilla. After a complete drydown, this is an awesome sweet, fruity, vanilla and red musk blend, I love it! Have a 5ml on the way

mmm pink phoenix! in the bottle , it smells like super sweet strawberry sugar. initally on my skin, it's pretty much the same, but the vanilla and honeycomb start to appear as it begins to dry. it's hard for me to pick out the sweet pea and sugared pear, but that may just be my noob nose or just how well blended the oil is. it definatly reminds me of pink moon (one of my favorites) without all the floral notes. i already have a 2nd bottle on the way

I've been looking foreward to this one! When first applied, it's very cologne like ... the sage, ceader and lavender are the strongest to my nose while the oil is still wet. As it begins to dry, I get a slight whiff of carnation, and the leather comes out more clearly. When completely dry, I mostly smell vanilla and white musk, with a little leather in the backround. Very nice! Could be worn by a man or a woman, I think. May need a 5ml of this one ...

also if you really love a specific scent that doesn't work on your skin, try wearing it in your hair! then your skin doesn't mess it up

Does anyone know what the artwork is for the "A Demon in My View" section? -
Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

Black Phoenix burned the crap out of me! I haven't experienced this with any other blends yet. Unfortunatly, since the description doesn't list what is in it, I have no idea what the reaction was to.
