Aunt Rosie's All-Purpose Cephalopod Bath Oil

This smells like apricot and coconut to me, it's soft and cuddly. I love it!

    Lich's Laboratory Atmosphere Spray

I love this! It's dark and resinous while still oddly cozy and fills the whole room. I want this as a wearable oil too!

What do bottles and labels look like?

Some new (-ish) labels. Cherokee Rose SN, India Ink SN, Blauer Mond, Luna Azul.

    Iole

Jasmine, leather and fig. The same jasmine as in Ceanothus Silkmoth. Actually I get almost all Ceanothus Silkmoth out of this, which I don't mind at all. I like it but it's not what I would call a studious scent.

    Mr. Prenderghast

Wow. In the imp this smells of sweet and sour pickled paprika. On my skin wet: Very strong and heady from the start. I'm not getting tobacco but a rather alcoholic heavy autumn scent like fermented fruit with brown wool. Drunk hobo in autumn wrapped in wool? On my skin dry: Still heady. It's going a bit powdery and I'm getting the same elderberry note that XCDL13 has. It has turned into a deep, rather feminine scent. I don't get cigar smoke out of this maybe I'm just not recognizing it. Mr. Prenderghast is a nice autumn-y scent it sings on my skin but it's a bit too strong for me.

    The Death-Horse

Lily of the Valley and opoponax. Starts out nice, all lily of the valley with a hint of resin in the background. It reminds me a lot of Bernardino Dotted Blue which is also heavy on the lily of the valley. When it dries down the opoponax steps forward, I'm not a fan of opoponax it's too heavy and cloying for me. This ends up with bitter opoponax smothering the lily of the valley. I'll stick to Bernardino Dotted Blue for my lily of the valley needs.

    Siberian Musk

Oh yes this is definitely one of the ingredients of Snake Oil. It also has that brown color that stains your skin. I don't get red musk out of this, this is more of a brownish musk none of that nose-biting that red musk does. Siberian Musk has a lot of throw. This would be great for aging if only I had the patience for that.

    Chuparosa

Ugh I don't like this scent at all. I like the rose but there is a green salad-dressing-like note in here that's almost certainly lotus. Headache city for me.

    Luna Azul

Wet: This starts out smelling a bit like lavender butterscotch on my skin. Then the mango and the opium tar come along together with a slight hint of camphor. Dry: Lavender is still the top note followed by the mango. The ylang ylang is showing up when it's dry and combined with the lavender makes Luna Azul smell like a chic french boudoir. I'm not sure where the opium tar and the camphor fit in but it somehow works. It's a fascinating scent, soft and cloudy.

    Blauer Mond

On my skin wet: Sharp pine and lavender. Fortunately the sharp pine needles are toned down once it dries down a bit. I get the sage now and a hint of night-blooming jasmine. On my skin dry: It morphed into something gorgeous! Sweet melancholic night-blooming jasmine with a backdrop of pine and lavender. I think the ambergris is helping Blauer Mond lose the prickliness it had when it was wet and the cucumber gives it a slightly airy feeling. This is a stunning perfume, a little of it goes a long way on my skin.

    Hime Gyaru

In the vial: Powdered berry candy. On my skin wet: Seriously sweet. Berries, sugar and violet. Not a lot of throw so far. On my skin dry: The gardenia has decided to take front stage and to stay there. It's now mainly gardenia with a hint of black currant and sugar. This has too much gardenia for me.
  12. General catalogue scents with wine listed as a note: Queen Alice - Carnation, posies, and white amber with a hint of inky treacle, sandy cider, and wooly wine. Cockaigne - milk and honey, sweet cakes and wine. Kali - This perfume is a blend of the sacred blooms of cassia, hibiscus, musk rose, Himalayan wild tulip, lotus and osmanthus swirled with offertory dark chocolate, red wine, tobacco, balsam and honey.

    CD: Fire Dancer v9

Dusty, cinnamon and cat pee. Yes it is spicy, but it is not the fire dancer scent that I'd like to see joining the CD. This isn't working for me at all. I wish I'd know what note is turning this to feline urine. Edit: The mystery note might be honey, I just realized that honey also goes to cat pee on my skin.

    India Ink

Wet: Etching ink. The type that you have to dig out of its can and heat before spreading it on your prepared plate. Mechanical and resinous. Dry: Way more woodsy. It's a kind of celery-like woods. The incense is also still around. The printing ink has faded to the background. I have come across this note in Fire Eater, if you like India Ink it might be worth it to seek out Fire Eater too. Well it's not the India Ink that I use to draw with which smells a bit clay-ish. But I also love printmaking and this SN reminds me of happy hours working on etchings and lithographies and manning (well, womanning ) the giant ancient printing presses.

    Where is this scent?

Does anyone know when Ozymandias will be available again?

    Love's Torments

Facinating. I didn't like it a lot in the imp but on my skin it has bloomed into a heavy feminine scent. I guess I amp neroli because all I can smell is a heady floral which is slightly reminiscent of bergamot (actually it smells like a cross between myrrh and bergamot). Love's Torment is very heady, I'm not sure if I can wear this without getting a headache.

    Art Supplies

India Ink reportedly smells like...ink. I haven't received my bottle yet so I can't give you my opinion on it. (It's pretty hard to get a hold of though .) Three Gorgons took me back to art school, it smells like fresh pencils and mandarins. (Unfortunately this got discontinued with the Salons last month.) I'm looking forward to some (hopefully GC) art supplies perfume recommendations too. *edit* zpelling

    Ya-Te-Vo

Barbed, sanguinary greenery, fleshy and sharp. Opium with pine and something like menthol. A bit unisex but not nearly as bad as I had thought. The scent-color is a smoky dark green. This is quite an interesting scent, I'll keep the imp to see how it'll age.
  19. The rose in Desire smells kind of dried to me: bittersweet neroli, black patchouli and black musk, gilded by apple, bergamot, blood red rose, teak, and vanilla. *edit* I just remembered which other blend I wanted to recommend. Phantom: Myrrh, dark musk, attar of rose and ylang ylang. Thank you! Those both sound interesting. Phantom sounds like it would be made of win for me. You're welcome! Phantom has flown under my radar for a year now (I probably thought it was discontinued?). I got an aged imp a while ago and it's gorgeous! Both of these blends are good agers, they become really smooth.

Help me choose a Blue Moon! (CHOSEN)

Er I voted for Luna Azul because it sounds delicious. (Plus I've never came across that white mango note before and my mood is permanently set to curious so I couldn't let it go past.) But if you're really into moonflower I'd go for Beth's Blue Moon, it sounds exquisite. But Blauer Mond has night-blooming jasmine which is also gorgeous. Ok I guess I'm not really helping here. I ordered Blauer Mond and Luna Azul, I didn't go for Blue Moon because blends with that many notes almost never work on my skin .

    Red Lace

Cotton candy, red musk, raspberry and tobacco, I get the 'lace' too actually. Very sweet and a bit perfumey it has a lot of throw on my skin. Sweet, sugary and smoky. The only scent I can compare Red Lace with it Black Lace, Red Lace is truly the red version of Black Lace. The tobacco is a bit too much for me in Red Lace a shame really because I like the rest of the blend.

    Grand Guignol

In the vial: Sour apple? Blarg. On my skin wet: Starts out rather sour (really sour, like pucker up sour). Then it morphs into a nice boozy apricot thank goodness. On my skin dry: Still tart apricot with a hint of booze. Tasty and aromatic. I like it but it is rather faint on my skin.
  24. Bon Vivant was all artificial strawberry on my skin.

    Mori Girl

^^^ LOL! Woah this is heady. Actually I'm not getting a lot of jasmine when it's wet it is getting drowned out by tuberose, wisteria and woods. And it's saying something when even jasmine is getting drowned out. A little goes a long way, I think I've overdone it a bit though a headache is threatening to come up. This is a nice scent but I'll need to retest it when I'm not so headache-prone. Alright time for that retest. Still a heady, kind of waxy floral. Tuberose with jasmine and heavy woods, giant blooms of jasmine actually. It's a very in your face kind of scent. It does calm down a little when it's dry but it stays oddly waxy.
