Why, Vampire Bride we meet again! Seriously this is the Vampire Bride on steroids. Violet leaf with a hint of musk, but more masculine and cool than the Vampire Bride. It doesn't have a lot of throw on my skin.

For some reason I always find this ?etch? hilarious. Fireworks go off above the mountains and way down in the right corner a grumpy looking mask with tendrils is floating around. It doesn't make sense but it's hilarious anyway. The blend is not quite what I had expected. I get a lot of fruity plum, black currant and grapefruit with orchid but no black musk. *pout* I'd have liked some black musk with my fruits but the jungle orchid is very dominant in this blend. Which is good news for jungle orchid lovers I guess.

Wheee a blend that smells like clay. Yup clay, a bit like greasy clay but clay. *cough* It does turn slightly industrial and plasticky after a while. Ends up as plastic petroleum.

This needed a lot of resting before I could smell anything at all. Now I get soft slightly sour frankincense and a hint of rose and lily of the valley. It's still very quiet and barely there. The resins amps a bit when it dries down pushing the rest of the notes away then the whole blend fades quickly.

Bubblegummy lotus and stone, the champaca joins in after a while. I don't like the combination of bubblegum lotus with the stone note there is something in here that makes it extremely soapy. It's unique but not a scent for me.

I second Spanked, there is a lot of cardamom in that. My favorite cardamom scent is Bezoar notes are: Copaiba balsam, Tolu balsam, hay absolute, cardamom, and hiba wood. It smells like autumn in a bottle to me.

Yum! Orange candy, sugary orange candy! I like it. Thanks a lot Sunshinedaisybliss for the sniffy!

I was so sad when my fairy let me know that Badgers had sold out. But I finally managed to get my hands on a bit of it! Badgers starts out quite green and fresh, then the honeysuckle amps together with the sarsaparilla and patchouli. It's quite a heady scent which is probably due to the honeysuckle. After a while all the notes combine into a sophisticated scent that's faintly reminiscent of dry mandarins. I'm glad I don't get a lot of leather or honey though the dryness of it is due to the leather. Apart from the mandarins the another strange thing about this is that it goes very smoky when it's dry, like opium smoke. I like mandarins and opium. Badgers starts out feminine and ends up leaning towards masculine. This is definitely a quirky one but one that I'd love to have more of.

On my skin wet: Ergh pine, cherry and jasmine have merged into one stinky cloying mess. This isn't the cute jasmine from Ceanothus Silkmoth but a jasmine-sledgehammer. Okay it's calming down a tiny bit, enough to be sniffable... This jasmine is really powerful... I'll risk another sniff when it's dry. On my skin dry: Well it turned into jasmine (surprise!) with added sugar. The jasmine isn't too bad but it's giving me a bit of a headache. A little goes a long way, a very long way.

I agree with Aldercy that this does indeed smell like you're right there. My first impression was that this really smells old-fashioned. The lead-facepaint is prominent after that I get honey and rose water. The leather amps after a while and joins together with the lead powder. There is a sweet berry-ish scent to this which may also be the lead. The painting itself is definitely interesting. I keep wondering why that woman in the back is trying to set fire to the painting on the wall.

Spicy! On my skin this is dusty ginger and cayenne. This doesn't morph but stays a spicy hot cayenne and sweet ginger with some dust and resins. The ginger reminds me of Saw-Scaled Viper, it's actually quite foody.

Every time I test this I end up with something that smells like black coconut. Which isn't a bad thing but there isn't a coconut mentioned anywhere in this scent. Anyway I have no idea what to do with this scent.

I didn't expect to like this one because of the lettuce which amped to high heaven on my skin in The Last Unicorn. But this is a very pleasant scent. Not too green, softly minty with a bit of warm powder from the musks. Even though it's a light scent I can still smell it over all the other scents that I have slathered on my arm. This would do well in the summer.

Sweet smoke and something that feels like fish but doesn't smell like fish. How ...fascinating.

Interesting. This starts out quite green then it morphs quickly to fruity honeyed mead. The red musk and rose are very quiet in this scent. The mead is doing it's banana impression when this dries down luckily it's blended in very well. Overall this is a comforting and creative scent.

Yep it's the musk. Red musk especially just smells masculine to me.

Undine Comes Into the House of the Fishermen

In the imp: Baby powder. On my skin wet: Baby powder. Really where is that coming from? Now it has morphed into salty baby powder. And morphed further into masculine baby powder, oddness. On my skin dry: If there was ever such a thing as grandmotherly masculine baby powder this is what it would smell like. Not what I had expected at all, I'm seriously confused by this scent. -
Aunt Rosie's All Purpose Cephalopod Bath Oil *gasp* is that you? I don't mind spiders when they're not actually crawling on me, actually there is one on the ceiling right now. I usually let them be I only take the occasional outside-spider out of the house. (It helps that there aren't any spiders in this country that can kill you.) Goldenrod Crab Spider starts out nice and tropical with a layer of fruitiness. The coconut isn't very apparent when it's wet, it's there but in the background. This is a fun scent so far. This isn't a morpher on my skin it stays true to the wet phase though it does warm up a bit. Goldenrod Crab Spider has a good throw.

Like Caper this also reminds me of Zebra Heliconian but a more sexed up version of it. It also reminds me of Ninon with orchid instead of lavender. The tobacco honey gives this a slightly wet feeling which goes well with the orchid and fig. Very sexy!

In the imp: Something in here reminds me of Ruddy Daggerwing. It certainly doesn't smell like I had imagined it but in a good way. On my skin wet: Bergamot! With some delicious slightly burnt caramel. I know that doesn't sound good but it smells good somehow. Goes on smelling a bit orangey the bergamot recedes a bit. It still reminds me of Ruddy Daggerwing along with the humongous throw. This scent grabs you by your shirt and yells: notice me! It's a very active scent. On my skin dry: Gorgeous. It smells like I have just walked into a shop where they sell specialty coffee and tea with added chocolate. There is no chocolate (or coffee...or tea) in here but it's just there you know. Activating and playful.

All vetiver with something smoky. It's somewhere between woodsmoke and incense. Very intense. After the vetiver has burnt off a bit the spices come out, the tonka ties it together and adds a creamy layer. Heady, smoky and spicy, definitely an intriguing scent!
-
Wet on my skin: Dry lavender, pine and patchouli. Then it quickly morphs the patchouli amps, the whole scent softens and gets sweeter. I get hints of star anise when it's nearly dry. Dry on my skin: Mostly patchouli with a bit of lavender if I concentrate I get the mandarin and lilac.

Interesting. This starts out smelling exactly like CK One with some leather added. The 'leather' fades on dry-down and it turns into all cologne all the time.
-
On my skin wet: Bubblegum? No wait there is the honey aaand it's gone sour. Honey notes do not play nice with my skin chemistry. I get red musk, honey and something herbal and green which is probably the hemlock. So far it's very close to Laurel Honey. On my skin dry: The cedar amps and becomes seriously nostril clearing. The honey is still there and the red musk but they both are in the background. Not bad but I won't need more than my half decant.
-
On my skin wet: Whee it's the same sweet musky scent that Miss Lupescu has. It's more masculine than Miss Lupescu but that doesn't bother me. Something sharply sweet and powdery is amping when The Lurid Library dries down. Stop ruining the scent sharp powdery thing! On my skin dry: The sharpness has toned down a bit it's now reminding me of Pteropus Leucopterus, only whiter and fruitier. I like it.
