Mostly vanilla and sassafras, with the other notes making it more brisk and bracing, especially when I first applied it. Apparently the Old West smells like really good root beer.

I'll admit, I haven't had much experience with Bourbon, but I couldn't smell any booze in this. Just mint (spearmint, not mentholy), sugar, something a bit powdery, and some "warm" scent I can't quite identify to round the blend out. It smelled good, but not what I expected.

On my skin, this was fruity, aromatic honey, although my dad smelled something like aromatic pipe tobacco. It was pleasant in its way, although I would have liked it better with a stronger ratio of the other scent notes relative to the honey to cut the overwhelming sweetness. I think in the future I'll mostly use this for layering or blending with drier scents rather than wear it on its own.

I really liked it. On me, this was pleasantly strong, not particularly sweet, and very spicy, with a sort of gingery aspect to it despite the lack of ginger. Maybe this was the calamus? Despite all the resins, it was more "spice" than "incense" to my nose. My mom thought it smelled like gingerbread.

On me, this was, as I anticipated, a sort of incense-floral blend. The floral aspect reminded me of rose Bee and Flower soap. I didn't really get an ecclesiastical feeling from this, maybe because my religious upbringing didn't involve church incense - to me it had more of an import or curio shop feel (probably the incense), but lighter, more floral, and not as many hippie associations. It seems to have good lasting power as well, at least if it isn't in a position where it would easily get washed off. This may wind up being one of my favorites.
