Wow, this one is strong. Unfortunately it has the sour/burnt smell that Gingerbread Poppet had on me, too--must be some spice that doesn't work well. It also has the strong-fake-butter smell that Sugar Cookie did on me. Not a good blend for me. Fortunately there are other almond, spice, and sassafrass blends that are great on me, so it's not the end of the world.

Smells like rose on me. A nice soft rose, not too soapy, and every once in a while I get a hint of the apple, but mostly just rose. I wish there was a version available without rose...oh well! ETA: Ok, this should be a lesson to me not to write reviews based on a first impression. The first day, this was all rosey...when I tried it again, I can smell the apple & lemon a LOT more and the rose is much more toned down so it is PERFECT. Very juicy and fresh and a wonderful summer scent. I am usually not big on florals but I like this one a lot and will be getting a bottle!

This is very nice, and it does somehow remind me of a lighter and fruity Snake Oil....interesting! The currants are fruity but in a sophisticated way and the rest is sweet-spicey. Makes me think of white frosting with purple accents. I was going to say that it fades quickly on me, but I was wrong. It actually lasts all day with occasional bouts of hiding!

A beautiful blend, though one that doesn't last long on me. The lime is delicious and citrus-y without being too sharp. The lilac rounds it out and gives it a little powdery sweetness, though not a candy sweetness or the dreaded baby powder. And I guess white musk is OK on me since I find nothing objectionable in this scent! Funnily, on my boyfriend it is much more lime-y and sharp (still nice, though) and strong-smelling. I am going to try it mixed with lotion since it fades quickly on me. But it is wonderfully blended, a really nice fragrance.

One more reply to this. I just placed an order by snail mail and had an email from Sara at the lab suggesting I use a Sherman Way address in the future, as that mailbox is checked more frequently than the Hillshurst box. (I emailed the lab because I had mailed my order a few weeks ago but not gotten a confirmation message yet.) I can post the complete address she gave me, but thought I would hold off on that in case it's NOT what the Lab prefers...let me know if you want me to post it.

I am not big into rose scents so I haven't used this one much, but today I am wearing it. At first it is just plain rosey, but later on it seems just a *little* bit like ... a rosey Snake Oil? Not quite as spicey/sexy/whatever as SO, but just a little bit similar....and definitely more than just roses there. So a very intriguing blend!

I get a sort of dark, juicy lavendar on this, which later becomes more sweet and floral. A very pretty, fresh scent, probably great for summer.

In the bottle and wet this smells sharp, one-dimensional, minty. After a minute or so to dry, it becomes a very very nice peppermint scent--sweet but not sticky, minty but not sinus-stabbing, present but not overpowering. Very cute!

This is the first BPAL scent where I've sensed different "stages"....sweetness (similar to Gluttony, though not *quite* as pancake-y) followed by smoke and pine boughs....very pretty and cozy, a nice cold-weather scent. This didn't do the bad fake butter scent that Sugar Cookie did on me, so it's very pleasant. I'm not 100% convinved I smell chestnuts, which are a little spicey and earthy--I'd love to smell chestnuts more--but it's very nice.

Yep, very nice and simple pine/evergreens. Definitely something I would enjoy wearing in Nov/Dec as I am getting excited about Christmas. It lasted several hours and at one fleeting moment there was almost a candy smell mixed in with it...don't know if that came from Mistletoe, or from me still having cookie dough on my fingers that day!

Phew, this one didn't work on me. I got a very strong "butter" scent (like the fake butter on movie theater popcorn) which had a salty edge, plus heavy sweetness. So it smelled kind of like that kettle corn stuff that is sweet & salty at the same time (not my fave combo). Then after a few minutes it smelled like some cinnamon red hots had been thrown in on the kettle corn. I actually felt nauseous from the "butter" after a while and had to wash it off. Thank goodness some of the other foody scents (Gluttony, Bliss) are tasty on me, so I can part with Sugar Cookie. Away you go to be swapped!

Cherry cough syrup all the way, on or off! The idea of this scent is great, but it doesn't work on me at all. It sure is strong, though.

Phew. *cough* Pine. Musk. Baby powder. Pine is the only one of these three that I like and musk gives me a raging headache. This is a very strong scent on me, and very dark--definitely evocative of the concept! I can see how this would be a great scent for some people. I had to wash it off.

Warm, cozy gingerbread spiced with nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. Smells wonderfully like gingerbread in the bottle (and I spilled it on the label so it smells like that OUT of the bottle, too). On me, it takes on a sour smell underneath the sharpness of the ginger--as a matter of fact, it smells suspiciously like the dreaded play-doh note, with sharp bitey ginger on top. Waaah, I wanted to love you, GP, but you don't love me.
