Named after the primordial ocean of milk where Lord Vishnu reclines upon the thousand-headed Naga. Sweet milk and warm, healing ginger with a touch of golden honey and our blend of Ambrosia. I got this as a freebie in my second order, and it's a good thing because I never would've ordered it on my own. Milk? Yeuck. That said, this is a definite favourite. My first impression upon sniffing the bottle was that it smelled like orange. The exact thought was, 'Fruit? Hm... don't think I'm going to like this one.' Eventually I put it on and realised that the orange smell was actually ginger (the giner is initially very stong, but calms on drydown), and incredibly yummy. The sweet milk note was creamy and added an opalescence to the scent. After some time I detected a faint, light floral underneath the milk, which I assume is ambrosia. I wanted to lick my wrist even after it felt the scent had become a part of my bodily makeup. On me this gives the impression of being skin, but better. Me, but spicier and creamier. It's positively gorgeous. It manages to last for about eight hours on me, so I feel quite blessed with this one. The only downside of this scent is that it's so comforting, so soothingly relaxing to wear that I end up lazing about more often than I'm wont to do ordinarily. I end up with eyes half closed and a silly, vapid little smile on my face. ...Then again, that can hardly be taken for a true downside. 5/5. Nigh perfection.

As has become my habit, I ordered this for the name, expected not to like, and ended up loving it. This is one of the few scents I feel completely comfortable wearing. I dislike licorice, but apparently I love smelling like licorice. Aside from the dominating anise, it's also minty and a bit boozy on me, both of which are always plusses in my book. Wearing it wakes me up in the morning and keeps me perky for as long as it lasts, so this really is a favourite. 4.5/5, with some extra love for being extraordinarily wearable.

First impression: This smells like... incense?! Despite this being the most anticipated imp in my second order, it was the last one I tried. It just did not smell like a mint julep at all in the bottle. I still can't describe what I think I'm smelling when it's bottled up, but as it morphs when I put it on, I suppose it doesn't matter. Upon initial application all I smell is mint. Strong, strong mint. The sort of smell I get when tearing off around fifty mint leaves, mashing them up, and sniffing them (not that I've ever done this in quite that quantity). After fifteen or twenty minutes of wear, the mint faded and the bourbon came in, as well as the powdered sugar. At this point I'm in mint julep city, and a very, very happy girl. If you like mint juleps, you will like this. Thass all I've gotta say. It's a bit too boozy on me for everyday wear, but you can bet I'll be wearing this for every outdoor party and croquet match in my future.

I thought this might be a signature scent, since I'm positively obsessed with tea, but the first time I tried The Dormouse I immediately washed it off. To me it smelled like pure, undiluted lemon-scented cleaner. I've since come to the conclusion that that was merely the reaction of my uneducated nose and an off day, and the second attempt was much more fortuitous. In the bottle it does smell vaguely of lemons, but also of tea. There's also a very apparent floral note that I take is peony. When it's on my skin it strikes me as intensely unpleasant for the first half hour or so. The lemony scent is too strong, and overpowers everything else. However, after this initial intensity, the lemon scent fades, and I am left with with a light, bright, tea and peony scent. The lemon scent also seems to tame down into something that smells more of herbs than cleaning solution, and the result is quite pleasant. The peony compliments the tea brilliantly, and the balance attained is startling considering the overwhelming beginnings. (I love the smell of tea more than anything else in the world, so the mere fact that I can smell tea more than anything else for the final five to six hours makes me a bit of a fan.) The mood of the scent is light, energetic, and clean. It's a caffiene buzz in a garden. Overall I'd give it a 3/5, though I can forsee days when no other scent would suit me.
