This is BPAL's only chocolate scent that I can wear. All of the others are nauseatingly foody, so I always felt like I was carrying a mushy chocolate muffin in my pocket. Ugh. Tezcat manages to blend the dark cocoa scent with the rest, so it's a rich hint of chocolate instead of ICING! all the time. At first, Tezcat smells like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups on me, which very nearly turned me off the first time I wore it; I think it's the initial shock of chocolate and leather together that smells like peanut butter. Luckily, the peanut butter goes away after about ten minutes, and all that's left is a dark, rich, delicious perfume. Tezcat smells like chocolate sex. Dirty, whips-and-chains, chocolate-covered sex. Mmmm.

I'm glad someone else got black licorice from Bitch, because I thought maybe my nose was crazy. I didn't actually wear bitch, I just sniffed it in the imp when I was feeling particularly weepy or horrid last week. It definitely helped with the mood, but I cannot actually wear this blend. It smells too much like licorice, which makes me want to gag a little. If it hadn't improved my mood the way it did, it would have been straight to the swap pile with this one. Unfortunately, I'm hitting the horrible crampy day today, and guess where my imp is? At home, packed up for my airplane trip tonight.

I was wary of this at first, mainly because of the florals, but I wanted at least one of the Stardust scents to work on me, dangit. And boy, does this one work. The incense is the strongest note, followed closely by the sugar, and both of those work to temper the floral. It's rounded off with a faint, clean grassy scent. I sniffed my wrist all damn day when I wore this one. I've got to get a bottle.

Oh, this is wonderful. I'm addicted to Snake Charmer, and I think that Death Adder might be the perfect successor to my precious. It's earthy and sweet and dark and delicious, just the way that Snake Charmer is on my skin. I am DEFINITELY going to have to get a bottle of this.

I would have given my eyeteeth for this scent to work on me, as it smells utterly delicious on a friend of mine, but I seem to be a victim of the cough syrup fairy, too. Actually, Montresor smelled like rancid grape bubblegum mixed with cherry cough syrup on my skin.

Delicious. In the imp, it was all cherry and very sweet, almost to the point of being cloying. It took me forever to actually try it, as I'm not a big fan of really sweet scents. But god, am I glad I finally smeared some on my wrists. The cherry dies down almost immediately into a sweet background note, and the myrrh, dragon's blood, and clove pop out, making it very spicy and incensey.

In the imp: Banana Laffy Taffy. It's a wonder I even tried this one on, as I absolutely hate the scent of bananas. On wet: Still kind of banana-y, but there's something floral underneath it, the sampaguita blossoms, I assume. Drydown: Thank god, the banana scent is going away. There's just a hint of foodiness underneath the floral, which isn't bad, actually. I'm picky when it comes to florals, and this one I like. There's a nice woodsy, spicy scent layered underneath it all, too. A couple of hours down the road: This smells delicious. It's exotic and lush, and it makes me feel like running away to some tropical island. Manila's definitely a keeper.

I was expecting more amber with this one, but for some strange reason, I could smell something like gardenia in House of Mirrors. The amber was almost non-existant on my skin; the scent was very heavily aquatic with that odd bit of gardenia in there. I'm not a floral fan, so this one went straight into the swap pile for me.

Just got this one in the mail a couple of days ago, and I can tell it's going to be a favorite. In the bottle: Very strong pine, with an almost camphorous note. Wet on: Piney, but not quite as strong. The cypress and juniper have popped out, too. Dry on: Ooh. Sweeter than I expected it to be (must be the ambergris), but not cloying. The musk is also coming through. The evergreen scents are very light, and I almost wish the pine had stayed around a little stronger, but this is delicious. Overall: It reminds me of the forest around the apartments I lived in while in Germany. It would rain often, especially in autumn, and when I would walk out into the woods, I could smell the pine and decaying leaves. This is what Black Forest smells like to me (which is fitting, considering I lived very near the real Black Forest).
