Can anyone recommend any oils that have a distinct orange blossom scent ?
-
I'm searching for the perfect caramel scent. Something without any 'boozy' notes in it. Does anyone have any recommendations?
-
I love bergamot. I grew up with Earl Grey tea, so the smell of bergamot evokes a lot of memories! I recently received Zephyr and I was looking forward to the bergamot note in the oil, but to me it was all lemons and cinammon (!). It's pretty....but there's no bergamot. I was just wondering if there are any oils where bergamot is a prevelant or top note and not just hidden in the background. I searched on the website and found that Fae, Succubus, and Baghdad all have bergamot as well as several of the Mad Tea Party oils. Can anyone help me out here? I needs me some bergamot!

I think my skin is broken Everyone else gets mint and me? I get straight up Patchoulli SN. It's a little disconserting!!

Oooh, this is nice!! Smells like Jailbait when first sniffed, but it settles into soft, sugared citrus which I love.
-
Patchouli. Full stop. No matter how much I put on, or how long I leave it, this never changes into anything but straight up patchouli. So sad because I ADORE the other notes in this!!

ARJKFJKD. The only thing I get from this is Lemon Pledge. Dammit. The same thing happened with Dorian There was a brief, fleeting moment when I could smell lovely sugared tea, but then...Lemons again. My body just LOVES to amp lemon, in absolute exclusion of anything else in the blend. Boo.

A cerebral scent, dry, and white. This is a perfume of thought, not heart, and of unforeseen pain and sudden obsession, touched with uncertain twilight and ambiguous horror. Stargazer lily, white musk, clear aloe, blonde amber and winding-cloth linen. Arg. ARG. Why do I always fall for the LEs???? Berenice = divinity. It's the only scent that actually makes my boyfriend's eyes roll back in his head. On two separate occasions, he's buried his nose in my neck and said "What *is* that?". The only one he likes to the same amount would be Pink Moon (another bloody LE!). Even my mom likes Berenice, and my mom wrinkles her nose at anything that isn't pure lavender. Berenice just gives me the shivers. It's such an evocative perfume. It's high tea with a twist. It has claws, but they're hidden. I know this isn't the most helpful review, but it's all I can do to not type something like: "JEORUIJFISDKJFSDKLJF". Because Berenice reduces me to a place beyond literacy.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

OOoh. Just reporting back. I have an (unhealthy) obsession with Al-Araaf and I wanted to find a GC that smelt similar. I tried Tiger Lily yesterday. When it's wet, they're really nothing alike. Tiger Lily is sharper and colder to me. However...on the drydown, they smell close enough to make me happy! Al-Araaf is still my one true love, but now I have a passable GC equivilant. -

Grar. I keep falling for LE scents! I love both Pink Phoenix and Pink Moon (I think the Moon is a little softer on me, which is nice). Are there any catalogue oils that resemble these LEs? -
Urg. This goes directly to hell on me In the imp it smelt sharp and *dark*. A very brown scent. I smelt no tea or sugar or anything nice. On my skin, it just deepend and sharpened. I had to wash it off
-
Lemons. And then more lemons. And,as it dried down? MORE LEMONS. Grr arg. I got none of the lavender or mint or thyme or ANYTHING except lemon. Boo
-
The Great Sword of War cleaved my heart in twain It seriously went all to hell on my skin. I think the 'herbs of conflict' staged an all out battle with my skin chemistry. The result was a putrid mixture of all spice, musk and amber. Grah. And it lasted forever. I really wanted this one to love me, but it didn't.

I love LOVE this one in the bottle. Smelling it just transports me to a place that I would be content to stay. However... It dries down to smell like a generic 'old lady' perfume smell. This fairy queen broke my heart

I'm over the moon for both Snow White and Spooky. Are there any catalogue scents that resemble these two? I'm currently hording my imps and fearing the day I'll run out.. It will be nice if there's some kind of GC backup! -
Hee! I ordered Red Lantern and Hesperides is on my wishlist! So I'm off to a good start.
-
haha. That's one of the 3 Valentine's scents I've ordered

I couldn't even get this one onto my skin. The scent in the imp was enough to send me gagging. I usually love the boozy notes; Elegba and Kali are among my favorites, but Delphi just smelt like concentrated cat pee and I wasn't brave enough to try it on.
-
I didn't get *any* of the sweetness. From bottle to skin this imp was pure, unadulterated cough syrup. Urg. If anyone's familiar with the children's cough syrup, Triaminic, that's exactly what Dragon's Milk turned into on me

This is absolute death on me It's boozy as hell in the imp. Boozy with a base of candied sugar. My skin is bipolar with boozy smells. In Elegba, it turns into a beautiful butterscotch, in Hellcat, it turns into something sour and vaguely sinister. In Sugar Skull, my skin just amps the booze note and kills any sense of the candied fruit. I waited impatiently for any kind of change on the drydown, but it just kept smelling like strong, strong booze. Not for me

I have some serious love for Jailbait. At first, I wanted it just for the novelty aspect of having something that was a dead ringer for bubble gum. In the imp, the bubble gum smell comes out and slaps you in the face. It really REALLY makes it's presence known. On the skin, it's still strong bubblegum. It brings back memories of summer days on the playground. It's a very evocative scent. About 30 minutes later, the bubble gum fades and is gradually replaced by a soft 'pink' smell. I can't pick out any individual notes in it, but it smells...pink. I love it!

BPAL to represent each month, each season? Holidays, like Christmas?
ocicat replied to taz19's topic in Recommendations
Dublin is pure Christmas to me! -
Kali is beautiful on me! I *hated* the way it was in the bottle (chocolate koolaid), but it turned gorgeous the minute it hit my skin! Dorian was the exact opposite. Heavenly in the bottle....but lemon cleaner on my skin.

Lush to BPAL scent comparisons (BNever included too)

If this question has already been answered in this thread, just point me in the right direction I'm absolutely in love with the smell of "Honey I Washed The Kids". That honey, vanilla smell. What BPAL matches that? Hellcat was too boozy on me and Dorian turned to sour milk Can anyone suggest anything?
