Heavy and dark, all right. The musk is most apparent, with just a shade of amber to warm it. The rose only emerges after several minutes, dark and dusty. Funereal indeed, and not something I'm likely to wear. A precise interpretation of the description.

Intense rose, with very strong throw. I feel like my second-grade teacher; you could smell her perfume ten minutes after she'd walked by. Once it calms down, in a few hours, it's a beautiful strong rose, arrogant and thereby seductive. It would be perfect for scenting feather roses--a very little bit goes a long way, and lasts and lasts. I think it's a bit too aggressive for me, unfortunately. I can't pick up any narcissus at all, just the rose.

Light, sweet, milk and honey. A bit of a sharp honey scent. Very placating, but not calming, in a "well, perhaps we'll pass you by--this time" sort of way. It softens over time, and becomes ever so slightly almondy. The honey influence is strong, but tempered by the milk. Good for a lighthearted sweet day.

Yum! Redolent is the right adjective. It's rich, heavy, with much of the cocoa and something of the rum. No explicit alcohol scent, though, and the blood is slightly metallic. It's definitely sacrificial blood, a bit incensey. Warm and dark red, and delicious. The chocolate reminds me very much of Ibarra, which is, in fact, bittersweet Mexican cocoa. Rich and excellent. It has very high staying power, especially in my hair.
