    Leo 2007

Bottle: Buttery warm sweet smooth with the barest hint of spice. I LIKE THIS and definitely see the resemblance to Pumpkin Queen. Skin: Goes on the same, then swiftly changes to...cedar? Maybe that's the chamomile, but it really smells like cedar to me. The longer it's on here, the more cedar it smells...and then progresses to pine...and now, about 30 minutes after initial application, it smells like Pine-Sol. I'll update the review if it gets any better later on, but for now, Leo has officially broken my heart. ETA: About an hour later, I'm catching whiffs of apples...but this is still overwhelmingly Pine-Sol on me.

What do bottles and labels look like?

If anyone wants, I'll take pictures of all the newest LE's (Red Moon, Allison Gross, Gibbous Moon, Sportive Sun, and Leo) tonight and post them. (Camera's at home or I'd do it now!)

    Mama-Ji

This smells absolutely stunning in the bottle. It's a gorgeous spiced flower, soft and subtle with an exotic, slightly menacing flair. It goes on smoothly, the spice fading back a bit to let the florals come more to the front. And then...soap. There must be lily of some sort in here. This turns into pure soap on my skin. No pretty flowers, no exotic spices, just soap.

Jenny, if you received a confirmation email from Paypal that the money was sent, then BPAL got it.

    Luperci

Luperci 2007 from the Lab's ebay auctions. Bottle: Heavy, dark, musky, a bit feral, with the faintest hint of something sweet. I think I can pick out the juniper now that I'm looking for it. I can see myself liking this. Wet on skin: Soft, musky patchouli with trying to sweeten it up. I like, I like! Dry on skin: Baby powder. Five minutes of sexiness, then baby powder. It's been baby powder for over 4 hours now. Throw: This seemed pretty strong while wet, but once it dried it stays very close to my skin. Staying power: Well, so far over 4 hours, and it's still there. Then again, it's been baby powder for most of these 4+ hours. Bah. Off to the swaps.

    TKO

Sugar-coated lavender, mmmmm. This is so very pretty. It's very sweet going on, but after a while it softens, and there's the barest touch of a medicinal or herbal smell. I'm learning that I really like lavender sweetened up, so I love this just for how it smells. The fact that I sleep like a rock every time I wear it to bed doesn't hurt a bit. This basic scene plays out every night that I've worn it so far: Me: *dabs TKO on wrists and inhales deeply, smiling* TKO: You will go to sleep. Me: No, I still have too much stuff to think about and worry about and ponder and... TKO: You will go to sleep. Me: But...! TKO: You will go to sleep. Me: *falls over and starts snoring* TKO: Muahahahaha!

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

Mamacat, try looking in here for discussion on aging oils, and here for a topic all about Snake Oil. Hope you find what information you're looking for!

    Selkie

Water. I smell water. When I first put it on, there's a little bit of sweetness to it. Then it's just...water. I think I can detect just a bit of the various florals, but they're so faint I can't tell what's what. This is so very pretty. It's just not at all my taste.

    Saw-Scaled Viper

HOT HOT HOT. So spicy starting out. The ginger doesn't take over everything else on my skin, so that's fantastic news. I think red ginger must like me better than regular ginger because I was able to wear Pumpkin Queen, too. Anyway, I love how strong and sexy the cinnamon is at first, but the longer it's on my skin, the more the cassia peeks out with its much drier spice. I can smell the Snake Oil best when the cinnamon is strongest, but once it fades and the cassia takes over, that's pretty much all I smell. It's not very strong anymore, and I'm pretty indifferent to it at this stage.

    Australian Copperhead (2006)

I can't decide about this one. At times, it's a lovely berry scent with a hint of dark creaminess lurking underneath. Other times it smells like crayon on my skin. Currently it's at the crayon stage. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get past the crayon.

    Enraged Groundhog Musk

Yummy. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this one before now. Sweet, soft vanilla, drizzled with caramel, with a chocolate base hiding underneath it all. The cardamom adds a gentle spice, and every now and then the syrupy sweetness of the cherries peeks out. I'm very thankful they are not a prominent note because on my skin they tend to turn into cough syrup; instead, the cherries are just enough to add to the scent without overpowering it. EGM satisfies the food-lover in me.
  13. Analise, once USPS's site says a package is delivered, there's nothing the Lab can do about it. If you haven't gotten it by now, you need to contact your PO. Be sure to have your delivery confirmation number on hand. Good luck!

How to make a paypal order.

Mianjo, from what I understand in Paypal, it automatically draws on your balance first and will only let you pay with CC or bank once the balance is exhausted.

Ohh, I like the look of Gemini. So pretty.

    Ravenous

Wow. This oil confuses me so much. Starting out, it's a crisp orange with a hint of earthiness. Then it slowly becomes softer and sweeter until it is almost identical to Fantasy Bath's Desert Rose. Within half an hour, it's pure Desert Rose, which = LOVE to me, so...awesome. There's a bit of powderiness, but nothing overwhelming, and it's sweet and soft and just so so pretty. This is pretty strong at first (during the still orange phase), but it settles down close to my skin where it lingers for HOURS. So much love for Ravenous.

Bridal BPAL - BPAL for weddings?

Too bad you don't like roses. I'd highly recommend Harlot (cinnamon & roses) since that's what I wore. But to repeat my earlier recs in this thread, try Dublin and Brisingamen, and also Morocco. Those are all beautiful light florals and light spices and all smell like they could be my own natural skin on me. They're not blatantly perfume. Give 'em a shot if you haven't already by now.

How to make a paypal order.

Ahania, when you're logged in to Paypal, go to your Profile, then click on Street Address (second item in first list on the left). There you can select any address and click the "Remove" button to delete it. That's also the page where you can tell Paypal to make your new address your primary (or default) address. (ETA: Morrighana beat me to it. ) Of course, if Paypal's doing to you what they've been doing to me -- including an address I haven't had attached to either ebay or Paypal in two years on that list during payment for "Choose your shipping address," but not having it anywhere else in either account where I can actually DELETE THE DAMN THING FOR GOOD -- then I'm sorry, I have absolutely no clue how to do that.

    Imp

Why, oh why, did I let the patchouli scare me off this for so long? Now, this isn't skyrocketing to the top of my favorites list. But I do like it, and I'm definitely holding on to this imp's ear for a while. Such lovely fruitiness -- to me it smells more like apricot than peach, but that may just be how the peach note interplays with the golden musk, I think. I can detect the amber in a soft, sweet, dry note lingering at the very bottom. Every now and then the patchouli peeks its head out to give me a flash of something dark hiding in the rest of the sunny sweetness. It has medium throw on me and lasts for several hours. It's lovely, and I'm glad I finally gave Imp a chance.

    Black Phoenix

I have no luck with almond or cherry notes. Almond overpowers everything else, making me gag, and cherry tends to become cloying. I didn't remember what was in this when I ordered it. When I first sniffed it in the imp, my brain started screaming, "RED ALERT!" I tried it on anyway, and surprisingly, I didn't get any overbearing almond. The cherry was very cloying on my skin, though, and reminded me of cherry cough syrup. After half an hour or so, it turned powdery. The throw was very strong while in the cherry cough syrup stage but was much softer once it turned powdery. It lasted for several hours in that stage. Basically this wasn't what I expected -- being both not as good as I'd hoped for BPAL's "signature scent," and not as bad as I'd feared once I first smelled that cherry note. But that's all just my own personal preference and skin chemistry.

    Oof

Wow. Menthol. I've not had any issues with being stuffed up lately, but with the weather constantly changing my sinuses have been acting up, making my head feel like it's about to explode from all the pressure. This morning was bad. This morning was very bad. Stupid weather. Anyway, I dabbed a tiny bit of Oof just underneath my nose. The menthol was not as overpowering as I'd expected when I sniffed it in the imp. I didn't pay much attention to the scent itself after that, but I did notice the pressure in my head slowly letting up. I put on Oof around 11:00, and by the time I left for lunch I felt fine. I'm definitely holding on to this, and I'm almost hoping for a chance soon to try it out on a stuffy nose.

    Ugh

I've been horribly sore since wrestling with my husband's wet blanket this weekend (), so last night I tested this fantastic Ugh out. At first going on, it smelled like minty lemon Pledge. "Ugh, indeed," was my initial reaction. I don't like mint, and I don't like lemon. But as it dried the scent turned into sugar-coated lemon drops -- so much better! I fell asleep before noticing any other scent changes. As for the aromatherapy of it, I didn't notice any beneficial effects to my sore muscles until I woke up this morning. When I was getting out of bed, I winced out of habit, then realized that I wasn't sore. I don't know if it was that extra night of sleep since hurting myself, or if Ugh really did it, but it's enough to make me want to dance with joy. I'm definitely holding on to this imp, and I'll wait to see about getting a bottle until I've tried it out a few more times.

    Numb

So icy cold. Dear Lord, this is winter in a bottle (or decant, rather). This is the smell of winter that I love on an icy cold, sunny, clear day when I just walk outside and breathe in deep. It may be my imagination, but my wrist feels cold where I applied this. There's no dreaded mint in sight -- just winter. I now mourn the fact that I never ordered Numb when it was available, but SO MUCH LOVE for Bain who sent it to me as a frimp in a swap. I'm definitely keeping this for the hot days this summer when all I want to do is stick my head in the freezer.

Bridal BPAL - BPAL for weddings?

If my wedding had been in summer, I probably would have worn Dublin ("The scent of misty forests, damp alder leaf, and the gentlest touch of white rose.") Such a gorgeous, light, sweet, slightly spiced rose. I must go home and put on Dublin now. Aaaand...I can't think of any other suggestions.

How to make a paypal order.

korshka, lots of people have been having that problem lately. Send an email to customer service to make sure, but I don't think they did get the notes. You'll more than likely need to email the order to them directly.
