    Monster Bait: Tokyo Stomp

I'm in the camp that really gets a cookie, thin mint scent from this oil. It's delicious in the bottle and wet on skin. After a while, the drydown is mostly mild chocolate cookie on me, with a hint of the mint. I was the mint didn't get eaten my skin, but it's still great, and definitely a keeper for me! I love the artwork, too. :-)

    Rose Moon

In the bottle and wet on my skin, this is almost a fruity rose, rounded out by the other floral notes in a complex and sweet way. On the dry down, the rose is really tempered for me by the blue iris and the woody/greener notes. The sweetness is still there, but it really becomes more of a heady, musky scent on me.

    Monster Bait: biggerCritters

In the bottle this reminds me of the powdery vanilla sweetness of MB Panties and Mouse's Long and Sad Tale, but with florals and citrus. Wet, it's still pretty much this mixture, although I can quickly start to smell the florals more strongly, and the combo of everything reminds me a bit of banana, oddly enough...sort of like circus peanuts. During the drydown stage, my dreaded enemies gardenia and jasmine dance around like little hussies. This lasts for about 15-20 min. and then I'm left with soft powdery vanilla goodness tinged with citrus and just a hint of the florals. Hurrah Critters!

    Snow Angel

To me, Snow Angel is the most delightful, sparkling lemon tea fragrance I have yet to try. It kicks CSP Ecume de The's butt! On me this is sweet, but not TOO sugary, lemony, with a hint of winter sparkle. Now, to get my hands on more than an imp!

    The Queen of Hearts

In the imp this seems to be predominately floral, and wet, it remains mostly floral on me for about 30 min. But in the drydown phase, the cherry balances things out and this becomes exactly what I wanted it to be: a beautiful springtime scent that makes me think of weeping cherry trees with their soft pink blossoms fluttering down. I think I actually prefer this to Persephone, which was my previous floral/fruit fave combo.

    The Agony of Heartache

this is very pretty, and reminds me a lot of The Oblation. Both Oblation and Heartache smell like Bitter Moon in the imp, to me. While Oblation is more honeyed and sweet on the dry-down, Heartache retains a touch of bitterness, which is appropriate :-) A very complex and lovely blend.

    The Ecstasy of Infatuation

I swapped my True Love for this, and I absolutely adore it. This may have replaced Underpants as my all-time fave. In the bottle, I can really smell the fruit and champagne. The dark cherry is lovely, much more complex and interesting than regular ole cherry. On the drydown I get less champagne sparkle and more of a subtle, sexy fruity muskiness. Love it!!!

    The Sailor's Den

In the imp, this is quite "cologney" on me. Probably the combo of linen, orris, blue lilac and wood. On my skin a sweetness comes through which seems to be a mixture of the coconut and bay rum. The drydown says "hey sailor!" with a smack of leather and a fug of tobacco. An interesting scent!

    Melancholia

In the imp, I smell a fresh, light floral that is a bit sweet. It's a white scent to me: the paperwhite and lily. Slightly honeyed. The blueness of lilac is peeking out, too. This pretty much stays the same on my skin, but with the honeyed sweetness amping up. The drydown is more soft, sweet and lilac on me. Very mild. If you like these types of florals, you will love this scent.

    Lot and His Daughters

In the imp, this is fruity and spicy to me. Despite the citrus notes, I almost sense a red fruit. I'm pleased to see the black patchouli in here as it confirms to me that this is one patchouli I CAN wear :-) The saffron, myrrh and incense start to come through on my skin, as well as the musk. All of this combined gives me the feeling of amber. Finally, the drydown stage reveals some of the citrus, and still a reddish fruity note, with spice.

    Three Gorgons

In the imp, this is rich and "brown." The tobacco gives it usually spicy sweetness, but it's not as strong as in some scents I have tried. The amber lends it a softness that is really nice. This stays the same on me, with almost no distinct citrus (although I suspect that freshens and mellows the headier notes) through all stages, ending with slightly more sweetness. There is almost a sense of woods but that is probably just the darker notes masquerading as woods on me.
  12. In the imp this is very spicy and sweet. I can smell something like cherry! I have no idea what that would be in this lineup. On my skin, it continues to be spicy, fruity and now I can detect the sandal wood and copal, and especially the amber. The drydown is similar, and finally it's a weird cherry again, almost like cough syrup and woods/spices.

    Khandita

In the imp, this is very much rosemary, neroli and rose, to me. I know this sounds odd, but I almost get an impression of gingerale from it. On my skin I can smell the saffron mixing in with the other notes. The rose otto is there but just barely.

    Abhisarika

In the imp, I detect mainly rose, cream and orchid (this also triggered some kind of scent recognition w/ me, like a memory, and I got so distracted I knocked it over and spilled half the imp on my desk wah! ) On my skin, this is very ligh, and become mostly orchid. bummer. I was hoping the rose and cream would shine through more.

    Proshitapathika

In the imp, the verbena predominates. I also detect a touch of sweetness, that combines with the lemon to remind me of lemonhead candies :-) Not in a bad, fake way. It's just the combo of lemon and sweet an musk that remind me of them. On the drydown, I can smell the iris, too. This is so pretty and would make a lovely summer scent, I think. My fave heroine so far :-)

    Virahotkantita

I can smell cedar and lily in the imp, and a touch of bergamot. Wet and drydown, this is very blue lilac, with the other florals peaking through. I don't detect much frankincense, bergamot or cedar at this stage.

    La Mort Qui Danse

In the imp the lillies and ginger smelled to me like a light and refreshing honeyed floral, almost reminescent of a greenish honesuckle. On my skin, the pepper and ginger started to come through to give things some body and a tad of spice. On the drydown this is mostly a sweetish floral.

The Arrival at the Sabbath and Homage to the Devil

Wow, this is rich and sweet. In the imp I smell the caramel and vanilla big time. The sandalwood is also there, and the carnation spices things up. On my skin the snadal wood really shows through, as does the black patchouli, but not in the way patchouli usually does on me! Hey, I'm finally learning what I can tolerate and what I can't! Usually patchouli hates me. The drydown is rich and smooth and still very vanilla/caramel/patchouli. I can finally detect a hint of iris, too.

    The Great He-Goat

In the imp, I can smell the redness of pomegranate, and the spice of carnation, ginger and patchoulie mellowed by the amber. On my skin it was mostly musk and amber, giving this blend a very incensey smell with just a hint of the pom. The finally drydown was musky and sweet, and still seemed to smell of incense.

    Les Anges Déchus

My impression of this in the imp was of something traditionally "perfume" or cologny. On my skin it took on a soapy, fresh note and it dried down to what seemed to me to be a fresh floral. I have no idea about most of these notes, except leather, moss and blonde tobacco, so YMMV.

    The Lantern Ghost of Oiwa

Wet, this had a greenish scent to me, probably the calla and cherry blossom. On my skin I could smell the wood and tea and it was still quite green and floral. Finally on the drydown the mint started to give everything a cool feel.

    The Cup of Death

Wow, this is an interesting scent. In the imp I smell the floral notes predominantly. I almost get a hint of something like a green melon, too! To me these all stay pretty strong when wet. It's during the dry down that I start smelling some dry woods and herbs. I suppose this is the blue yarrow and sandalwood peeking out. And finally I can smell the peach blossom and peach tree leaf. Very complex. Not for me as somehow the combo of all of this has an odd jasmine or gardenia-like essence to me. Which sounds, weird I know. Scent is a strange and fascinating thing :-)

    The Ecstacy of St. Theresa

In the imp this is almost a sharp green scent (chamomile?) and some sweetness...which is probably the amber and iris. Wet, it's mostly white floral (the gardenia). On the drydown the frankincense and amber warm things up a bit and add some spice, but it is still mostly white floral on me. The final drydown for me ended up very soft and sweet without the cloying quality that gardenia usually exhibits on my skin. Surprisingly lovely for me :-)

    Judith Victorious

Very interesting. I would not have imagined this smelling like this at all! which is why I love to try almost anything that MIGHT work. I'm always surprised by BPAL. This is almost all sweet and spicy on my. Warm sweet spices and musk. In the imp, wet and dry. During the wet stage I could smell the mandarin as a hint of fruit, but the spiceyness predominates. Very pretty!

    Cloister Graveyard in the Snow

This is gorgeous! One of my favorite Salons yet. It reminds me a lot of Snow-flakes, except it has less of Snow-flakes "snow whitish florals" and more of a nose tingly mint to it, if that makes sense. As it dries down, I can really feel the cold tingle in my nose when I sniff it. The frankincense is starting to show through a bit, too. As the others have said, Beth has beautifully captured the essense of this painting (one of my faves). I really must have this
