Red Hots, Red Hots, Red Hots! (Which is not a bad thing at all, believe you me!) Although it smells like almond in the bottle, wet, it smells like Red Hots. Dry, it smells like Red Hots. A while later, it smells like Red Hots. The perfect thing to warm me up as we finally start getting some good snow. Perfect timing, too. I'd been going through a pile of 13 imps that came in my latest order, and nothing screamed "Buy me!" I was a bit worried something was wrong with my sniffer! But this one I have to have. And I'm not at all sure that the rashes have anything to do with sensitive skin, per se. I raise welts if I lightly scratch myself, if I'm handling blackberry vines, even if I'm wearing longs sleeves, when I touch my parents' fake Christmas tree, and if I use a different laundry detergent. But not with Inferno! *edited to add* A while later, I did get some minor itching, but nothing strong enough to prevent me from wearing it!

After-dinner mints of doom? It started out smelling a bit like medicinal Jolly Ranchers. Next thing I knew, it had morphed into after-dinner mints. Sinister after-dinner mints. Not at all unpleasant, but I'm not sure it's something I want to smell like.

Intriguing! When I first put it on, it went straight to the swap box. Like many scents from this order, I've had to rescue it from that immediate doom to try again later. Wet, it reminded me a bit of Brimstone. I realize that sounds a bit bizarre, but it was very smoky and dirty and altogether unpleasant. But, I let it dry. Dry, it definitely smells more like a forest, although I wouldn't necessarily say pine. I also get the scent of dirt, and after sniffing it with my mouth open once, the TASTE of dirt. There's also something sweet that seems to be getting stronger as the scent dries. Overall, I can't say I'll ever want to order a bottle of it, but I may keep the imp around for occasional use.

I wanted to like Twenty-One, I really did. The Dorothy Parker reference meant I had to order an imp of it. Unfortunately, the smell, wet/dry, whenever, reminds me not of alcohol, but of 7-Up. And I never liked 7-Up. It reminds me of being sick, and I really don't like smelling like I spilled 7-Up on myself. Sad though this makes me, it must go off to a better home.

In the bottle: smells sticky-sweet, like bubblegum. Wet: Flowers. Lots of flowers. I can't pick out any of the fruits mentioned at all. It's simply floral. Dry: Flowers, flowers, pepper. And a hint of fruit. At this point, I can smell a little fruitiness in the background. I'm relieved that the pepper isn't overwhelming. I have an imp of White Rabbit, and pepper was about all I could smell. The pepper here is much more subtle. I'm glad I won one, and I'll definitely use it up. The big disappointment is the lack of staying power. It seems to be gone in a couple hours.

I guess I'll be the violently dissenting voice on this blend. I got it as a freebie from an eBay auction, and in the imp, I thought I'd like it. My two favorite scents so far are both woodsy, and it smelled like pine when I opened it. The smell on my skin was purely nauseating. I had to run to the bathroom to wash it off. Wet, it still smelled somewhat of pine, but mostly of leather or musk. It was so foul that I'm still traumatized a while later. I think I'm making a face. I let a little bit dry on my finger, and I can say that while it toned down quite a bit, returning to a more piney scent, it still smells too animal for me to ever wear it again.

The World Ash. Nine woods, nine leaves, and three herbs each for Ratatosk and Vidofnir, with three final herbs to placate Nidhogg. This is the first BPAL scent I ever smelled. And it's a great one for getting me hooked! Wet: pine needles and juniper Dry: To me, this scent smells exactly like shops at the beach. It smells mostly like wood, but not like living trees. More like wooden boxes. Almost like cedar, but not quite. There's also a touch of something sweet there, but it's not overwhelming. I'll definitely be buying a bottle of this.
