    Sugar Skull

2024 release: this develops more assertively on my skin than the 2023 version. The drydown reminds me of tropical fruity marshmallow sugared powder. I have the 2006 release which is a whole different scent. If you enjoy Aunt's Caroline Joy Mojo you can give Sugar Skull a try.

Dead Leaves, Incense Smoke and Oud

On my skin it opens up with a sharp oud reminding me of the leather in Assassin or Jareth. I am somehow registering here the oud as leather. I get no sign of dead leaves or incense smoke, just the type of oud which registers as leather, with a bit of a sour/sharp vibe.

    Woman Putting on her Stocking

This are roasted coffee bean vapours lightly touched by some pale sweetness either from the amber or tonka. In the beginning i get some Miskatonic University vibes, but later on the coffee bean gets hazier and hazier and I'm left with plush amber musk.

    Courtiers and Cats

I have a very weird experience with this blend. I blame the oud or the balmy amber musk for giving this blend an indolic vibe. The cardamom, cocoa, musk, tobacco - everything melds in well together, but after 1 hour an ammonia like note shows up and messes up the entire balance. The recently released Bearded Dragon does a much much better job balancing the cardamom, musk, vanilla notes and i wish Courtiers and Cats went that route.

Dead Leaves, Blood Orange, and Neroli

This is reminding if classic french 1970s citrus chypre perfumes. The neroli and the dead leaves create this oakmoss chypre quality. I feel transported back in time. This blend is a perfect take on the french 70s fresh chypres. I can't stop sniffing my arm. Soapy citrusy fresh clean manly oakmossy goodness ♥️

    Hod v2

Got this as a frottle. This is the type of carnation i can tolerate. I get powdery carnation petals mingled with buttery vanilla and some light resins. Very beautiful ♥️

    Dead Leaves and Honeycomb

In the decant, the honeycomb note reminds me a great deal of the Honey, Sweet Orange and Orange Blossom from the Lupercalia Honeypot series. In my skin, the dead leaves and the honeycomb take on a surprising turn. On my skin I get dry green yellowing leaves with a spray of green citrus peel zest. Feels at times like a chypre. Later on: the honeycomb sweetens up a bit and the dead leaves note takes on a green chypre quality.

    All Hallows Oud

I get almond paste and pumpkin purée. Afterwards it morphs into something with a mild non-sweet cherry vibe. I can't pick up the oud at all.

Come With Me, Loving Me to Death

This reminds me of Blue Silk Orchid from 2023 Lupercalia. I prefer Blue Silk Orchid over this one, probably because it had tuberose as well. Come With Me revolves around the black orchid accord with some warmness from the almond and black musk.

Bourbon Soaked Pumpkin Peanut Butter Fudge

Pumpkin, peanut butter, some pumpkin spice. Smells like something straight out of the Pumpkin Patch series.

Dead Leaves, Black Tea, and Bergamot

I get a melange of dry green leaves and bergamot. The black tea is somewhere in there giving off a bit of warmness. I'd classify this as woody green citrus.

    An Ineffable Game

I expected this to smell like Tis Not Madness as they're sharing almost the same notes. An Inffable Game smells like a milky fig leaf, no bitterness or saltiness, just milky fig leaf. Maybe other notes will show up in times, but all in all I'm content with what I'm smelling on my skin.

You Are Mine, You Shall Be Mine, You and I Are One for Ever

This is CLOVE balm on my skin. The clove note has exterminated everything around it. It's slowly warming up, but still is a clove one-man show. This is for all the clove note lovers out there.

    My Soul Acquiesced in It

It's a bright white rose with a sweet prickly kick from the vanilla/ white musk combo. On my skin it comes off as fruity floral. If i didn't know the notes, i'd say it had chilled pear in it. Later on, the white rose becomes powdery, but still retaining that prickly kick.

    That Silvery Splendor

Aldehydes and soapy florals. Evokes a vibe of cleanliness. The florals are waning and the aldehydes become the center of attention. The aldehydes are well behaved and don't feel effervescent. A good option for those seeking a Chanel N5 alternative.

    Morning Follows Night

I have a decant of Morning Follows Night which i've been testing for the past 2 weeks. It starts off with a wonderful lemon rind/ vanilla/ tonka/ powdery cocoa upon opening. So lovely....here's hoping this part lasts. Litte by little the opening calms down, the lemon rind subsides and i'm left with a creamy plush vanilla/tonka/ lemon rind veil. At times, the drydown can unexpectedly shift into woody patchouli with a brulee vibe; other times it stays creamy and soft. I still haven't decided if i need a bottle of this.
  18. Red, dark brown dry leaves enveloped in a scorched and warm layer of whiskey. I don't smell any clove cream or marshmallow. It's not an in your face boozy blend, but more in the vein of booze-generated warmness and scorched smoky something melding in with the dry dark brown leaves texture. This is slightly reminiscent of DL, Roasted Almonds and Bourbon, which had a MUCH MUCH MORE pronounced boozy roasted vibe. These DLs are more approachable and the whiskey + the scorched element bring a really nice and warming touch.

    Bearded Dragon

Smoky coffee bean and cardamom. It starts off pretty strong and smells good, but looses its oomph in 1 hour. Sadly it's short-lived.

By Day She Made Herself into a Cat

Deep black musk, a bit incensey and warm rounded by a halo of amber. I thought this would smell like Haunted, but it doesn't. It reminds of a much much more subdued version of Streets of Detroit without the myrrh and the greasy engine oil vibe. It stays close to the skin and feels warm and cozy.

An Angel Leading a Soul into Hell

This is a pale king mandarin, a bit dry, with some spice and dustiness from the red musk. I expected something combustible, but it's very well behaved and polite

    Apple Tree I

Fresh smells like biting into a red juicy apple followed by something creamy and white, maybe musk, like a creamy body lotion texture...could be the floral component of the blend. Little by little, as time goes, the milky creamy component gets stronger eclipsing the apple. In the end i get creamy milky body lotion scent with a whisper of a waning red apple pulp.

    Cat Churning Butter

Sweet cream with a butter undertone. I wish there was more frankincense. Over time the cream and butter get sweeter and more intense verging almost into dulce leche territory.

    Cats and Sparrows

this is the good GOOD! This is a caramelized purring fuzzy amber. I think there's benzoin here. Whatever amber resinoid is used here, it may have turned this blend into an unintentional gourmand. I'm getting a bottle with my next order! LOVE ?

    The Large Cat

This blend gives off an auburn/ dark brown chromatic feeling. The spiced rum definitely makes its presence known. I can't escape the feeling that everything in here has been soaked in the spiced rum and then meticulously dried. The blend is not sweet, but rather carries a mild boozy aura throughout its wear. Boozy, a bit sharp, almondy with a scorched bite Reminds me of Row Bullies Row from the Fire Down Below series.
