First of all, i've never ever in my life eaten gingerbread or gingerbread cookies, so i had no expectations. However, i did get a frimp of Shub in January 2012, but it didn't impress me much, so i gave it away. Having scored a full bottle of it, I put some on and it blooms into a spicy bready creature. I can't describe it, but it smells very delicious and evokes fall.

If you like cold, ozoney violets then it's your scent. I get a generous layer of eucalyptus over fresh violets. The eucalyptus slowly goes away and i'm left with the minty violet drydown. I'm not a violet fan, but i'll gladly use up the imp i have.

This is absolutely stunning!!!!!!!!!!! I love Villain, but never got to purchase a bottle becaus of its short life span. Gingerbread Villain is another different story. The gingerbread base is a lot more sexier that the one in Shub and just blooms on my skin. It reminds me very much of fall and cool weather. The Villain face comes out but not much and in the end it turns into what smells to my nose as fragrant gingerbread rolled in spruce in pine needles. So gorgeous

My skin always hates rose and lily notes, bu this oil is so serene and beautiful. I get light peach blossom and musk, maybe rice flower too, if only i knew how it smells

2006 version: Since 2011, I've been reading raving reviews about Samhain, but i never dared to purchase a bottle, since i was afraid i would get on the drydown only leaves and fir needles. The 2006 release opens with a pungent VaporRub smell and it lingers for 15 minutes and slowly fades away, giving way for something bitter (maybe the mullein and leaves) and the most amazing cherry tobacco accord, which gloriously trumps over what's left of the bitter mishmash and reigns supreme on my skin. It reminds me very much of Burberry's London for men only better.

2007 release: I smell the lab's slushy snow note with pine being kept in check. The slushiness lasts and lasts and ultimately goes away and the faintest smell of pastry emerges. I like the transition from slushy snow to pastries, but it take too damn long.

2012 decant: I get campfire burnt wood and ashes and a hint of sweetness. I'm positive i caught whiffs of vetiver, but it could be my nose playing tricks on me. Imagine the heavy smell of cremated wood logs and some campfire smoke rising and ttreacle, rendering a bit of sweetness.

Sharp and sour smelling aquatic. Reminds me of an aquatic pencil eraser-head, actually. This sounds and smells so weird so i better stop

Vetiver and geranium and something else herbal mixed in between. Never imagined death would smell so green LOL
-
This is a dark broody concoction! I get sweet anise rounded around the edges with vetiver and something else damp smelling. I associate this smell with witches brewing potions in their spider-web laced cauldrons.

to my nose it's Sea of Glass with muted florals and with amber and cinnamon added. This is soooo good!

Effervescent spiky scent. On the drydown i get the ambergis accord, which is supported by other alcoholic notes; still bright ambergis is what i get mainly on my skin.

This is a review for the 2009 release. This is very reminiscent of Haunted to me, except it's not fuzzy and lacks the ambery edge. TBTBT is black musk rounded with some cocoa and faint tobacco, but it all comes down to black musk in the end.

On my skin Aeval screams herbal floral shampoo and i can't ignore this association no matter how hard i try. The shampoo accord dissipates and i'm left with a musky sage/ sweet pea drydown. Pretty neutral

I've worn Pi in the past and it's so delicious - it's more of a gourmand with almond echoing softly in the background. Dana O'Shee is reminiscent of Pi, imho. I guess BPAL vanilla-almond combo oils (the almond being not the dominant note) would be ideal.

Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here

Imho, Bastet is uber-arrousing! I just can't wear it myself for obvious reasons, but i wouldn't mind sniffing it on my significant other -
Cut to 2013 I've gifted my 2010 bottle 1 month later after i got it. At first i got all the boozy musky notes, but the drydown started gradually to bug the hell out of me, due to its oh so reminiscent and unsettling smell. I couldn't put my finger exactly, back then, what was it that was bothering me, but this year, and reading some of the reviews in this thread, it hit me that SMUT has red patchouli as one of its key ingredients. It smelled so similar to my aged RAVENOUS bottle, which i gave away too, because it had the same distinct red patch vibe. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

I get a slushy pine note and nothing else and it lingers on forever. Yellow Snowballs smells like piney slush and no citrus notes in sight to be found I had high hopes for this one, but sadly it wasn't meant to be.

I got a generous decant of this bath oil through a forum swap. On my skin i get a hypnotic base of copal and myrh with whiffs of powdery rose floating around. It's very evocative of an autumn dusk, but i could do without rose addition.

Hot cocoa with cinnamon, coffee, and brown sugar. I got a decant from the 2007 release. Freshly applied on my skin, i get whiffs of delicious sweet cocoa and hints of marshmallow and later the brown sugar tries to emerge, but backs down. The dry down reminds A LOT of Sue's Great Ol' Puppet Show, only that it's slightly less heady and sprinkled with cinnamon. Ultimately, it's too foody for me.

Black Pomegranate and Blackcurrant Atmosphere Spray
theredkilt replied to Dark Alice's topic in Atmosphere
It's indeed a tart and hypnotic scent. I get right away the pomegranate smell plus the tartness of the black currant , but it fades oh so fast, like in 15 minutes -
This is such a cheery and bright scent. It reminded me instantly of Punkie Night. I get mostly quince and apples out of it. This is very summer-appropriate and i'm happy i took a chance and purchased a full bottle

Salty, mineral, herbal, green scent. This blend will shine on my skin in the summer heat. It reminds me very much of Eau de Paco Rabanne Pour Homme.

As i sniffed the oil in the bottle, i caught a familiar whiff and that is the cinnamon note, which is very similar to the one in Satyr. I dabbed some of the oil on my skin and i got prominently pumpkin spice with Sin echoing somewhere in the distant background. On the drydown, the original Sin can discerned but it gets drowned by the pumpkin. I truly believe this oil blend needs some serious aging.

This oil did a 360 turn on me, literally. It started out as sweet soil and herbs, but upon drydown the dirt/ earth accord vanishes and i'm left with what i call a poor man's Lemon Scented Sticky Bat I must say that i like it and in total awe and i might wear this in summer. I sampled this again after 3 weeks and i'm registering mellow lemony dusty/bony dirt. Ugh, and i thought i'd like this
