Testing 7/8 month-year old Chocolate Musk. I'm happy it doesn't have cocoa sediment floating in the bottle. On the skin, CM is reminding me of Candy Butcher but considerably LESS sweet and the chocolate is not as DARK and void of any cream. I believe the musk used in the CM maybe the red variety.

There's herbal lavender in the beginning, but it fades away quickly. The drydown of this one on my skin is kind of buttery with a faint popcorn undertone. The lavender is MIA.

This smells like a nice melange of all spices listed in the description. Reminds me of Cartier Declaration with emphasis on the spice element. Green cardamom, fennel, coriander, star anise - in that order. It's more of a spicy aromatic blend than a gourmand one for me.

Hunter’s Moon: White Pumpkin and Bergamot
theredkilt replied to doomsday_disco's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
I was expecting a lighter and zingier take on Embalmed Pumpkin, but was greeted by a cinnamon-forward Pumpkin Floss base coupled with a pale shadow of bergamot. Later on the cinnamon becomes stronger and ticklish and the bergamot grows slightly sour. It's an unusual combo.- 3 replies

2024 release The tangerine and sweet orange burst jovially on the skin. It's such an uplifting combo. The lavender and anise balance out the citrus notes, making sure they don't go into soapy territory. The drydown lasts a good 2 hours, so reapplying will do the trick to increase longevity.

I get a full on meaty black cherry jam with a thin layer of pastry with a hint of powdered sugar texture. The cherry note is a tricky one for me, but here it's very well balanced with the dough pastry. Lovely!

Delightfully sweet fragrant pumpkin bread with a melange of warm spices, beautifully blended together. This smells like the moment you took the pumpkin nutbread out of the oven and cut the first freshly baked loaf.

The Bliss milk chocolate has been imbued with warm pumpkin purée. As time goes by the milk chocolate is vanishing away leaving me with a sweet warm pumpkin glow.

If you're looking for an alternative to the disconnected "Covered Bridge" by Solstice Scents, Sinister Relentlessness is a a very good option. I get a freshly dried burnt wood with traces of smoke and ash, laced with clove. Very autumnal in feeling.

This starts out with a spice blast. The pumpkin purée gives me pumpkin cookie vibes. A bit later i feel the feral musk coming out. Overall i get a musky spicy pumpkin infused sugar cookie, although the spice element really tingles my nose if i smell it up close. This got me really intrigued. I'm gonna keep testing my decant to see how it further develops. Later on: the cherry note showed up making the entire blend surprisingly so intriguing.

Freshly applied i am greeted by a spicy cherry note followed afterwards by what i perceive as a pumpkin-myrrh duo. As time goes by the pumpkin note grows bigger and sweeter, backed by some gentle myrrh. I think i may have smelled something similar in the 2012 series of Pumpkin Patch scents (nr 3 or 4). All in all, I get no Blood as in the GC blend from Pumpkin Blood.

This a shamelessly unapologetic floral. What stands out the most on the drydown is the honeysuckle. It's a honeysuckle bush, not yet in bloom but about to. The honeysuckle feels a smidge green and gently enveloped in a discreet glow of warm amber. All the honeysuckle fiends should not miss testing Idyll.

I was pretty sure this contained the dead leaves accord judging from the name. Regardless, i get the dead leaves aka the green bell pepper note with the addition of something clean and soapy. I get no woods, spices or vetiver.

2024 release: this develops more assertively on my skin than the 2023 version. The drydown reminds me of tropical fruity marshmallow sugared powder. I have the 2006 release which is a whole different scent. If you enjoy Aunt's Caroline Joy Mojo you can give Sugar Skull a try.

On my skin it opens up with a sharp oud reminding me of the leather in Assassin or Jareth. I am somehow registering here the oud as leather. I get no sign of dead leaves or incense smoke, just the type of oud which registers as leather, with a bit of a sour/sharp vibe.

This are roasted coffee bean vapours lightly touched by some pale sweetness either from the amber or tonka. In the beginning i get some Miskatonic University vibes, but later on the coffee bean gets hazier and hazier and I'm left with plush amber musk.

I have a very weird experience with this blend. I blame the oud or the balmy amber musk for giving this blend an indolic vibe. The cardamom, cocoa, musk, tobacco - everything melds in well together, but after 1 hour an ammonia like note shows up and messes up the entire balance. The recently released Bearded Dragon does a much much better job balancing the cardamom, musk, vanilla notes and i wish Courtiers and Cats went that route.

This is reminding if classic french 1970s citrus chypre perfumes. The neroli and the dead leaves create this oakmoss chypre quality. I feel transported back in time. This blend is a perfect take on the french 70s fresh chypres. I can't stop sniffing my arm. Soapy citrusy fresh clean manly oakmossy goodness ♥️

In the decant, the honeycomb note reminds me a great deal of the Honey, Sweet Orange and Orange Blossom from the Lupercalia Honeypot series. In my skin, the dead leaves and the honeycomb take on a surprising turn. On my skin I get dry green yellowing leaves with a spray of green citrus peel zest. Feels at times like a chypre. Later on: the honeycomb sweetens up a bit and the dead leaves note takes on a green chypre quality.

I get almond paste and pumpkin purée. Afterwards it morphs into something with a mild non-sweet cherry vibe. I can't pick up the oud at all.

This reminds me of Blue Silk Orchid from 2023 Lupercalia. I prefer Blue Silk Orchid over this one, probably because it had tuberose as well. Come With Me revolves around the black orchid accord with some warmness from the almond and black musk.

I get a melange of dry green leaves and bergamot. The black tea is somewhere in there giving off a bit of warmness. I'd classify this as woody green citrus.
