In the imp, this was a little sharpish-smelling. On my skin? Well, initially, it was OMFG!ALMONDS! Almonds, almonds, almonds, almonds. About fifteen minutes later, it was Yankee Candle fake-spice hell. I really disliked it. I griped about it the whole way to drop the kids off. But in the hour and a half that it took, something happened. Now, it's this dark, spicy plum scent, very subtle and feminine. Soooo not for me, but I'm not running to scrub it off the way I wanted to when I first put it on.

In the bottle, this was pure sunshine. As soon as it hit my skin, things went wrong. It went on a little sharp (I think that's the heliotrope), and began to amp up horribly. It's giving me a headache, though the sharp scent has faded in favor of blooming amber. I can smell the lemon peel through the slightly-powdery amber, but I smell no vanilla musk, and no honey. I'll revisit in a bit, but I don't think this is for me.

This smelled...like wet clay. But not in a good way. It also gave me a raging headache. I think "dolorous" pretty well describes how it smelled to me. I ran and scrubbed it off.

In the imp, this was acrid, bitter oranges. On my skin, the same. Once it dried, it smelled like bubblegum flavored with bitter oranges. Gross.

In the imp, this is a fresh-smelling aquatic scent. Certainly not the dark, fathomless depths I expected. Unfortunately, on my skin it smells like generic dish soap. ::sigh::

In the imp and wet on my skin, this was a dead ringer for BBB's Warm Vanilla Sugar. But once it warmed up, the amber deepened the scent, bringing it out of the realm of the super-sweet into a darker, more complex scent. It's a little masculine, but still feminine enough for me to wear. I think it'd make a great daily scent.

I suggest buying Pumpkin Queen instead of Jack. Jack smelled like rancid butter on me - but Pumpkin Queen is divine. I've bought three bottles of it, which is unheard of, for me. The Pumpkin Patch #3 is also nice, if you like candyish-sweet scents.

In the bottle, this was all snow. Wet, it smelled a lot like Skadi. I even did a little happy dance because I thought it would be a good substitute for my beloved discontinued blend. Alas! As it dried, the pine faded swiftly out, to be replaced by sharp ylang-ylang and snow. Now, half an hour later, it's still a sharp flowers-and-snow blend, with no berries in evidence. ::sigh::

In the imp, this was sharp and a little acrid. I dabbed some on my wrist, and lo, and behold - sandalwood. Yup, pretty much single-note. Weird. Once it dried for a while, there was a pleasant musk scent that joined it, making it smell a little masculine. It had a very low throw, and didn't last long, but it was pleasant enough while it lasted.

In the imp, I smell...vanilla. Is there supposed to be vanilla in this? It's sweet and thick-scented. On my skin, I'm slapped upside the head with BIG CINNAMON. The throw is enormous - the way it amps on my skin, people across town can probably smell me. After I scrubbed myself down a bit, I'm left with a sweetish scent of cinnamon-incense and vanilla. I don't know how often I'll wear it, but I quite like it.

Wolf Moon went on aquatic and clean, kind of a fresh springy greenish smell. It had absolutely no throw - I had to have my arm right up to my nose in order to smell it. After fifteen minutes or so, I noticed a faint masculine spiciness, with maybe just the barest hint of greenery behind it. Not at all what I expected.

On me, this smelled of....soap. Oh, well.

This smelled like every single other voodoo blend I've tried: grassy and herbal. ::shrug:: I tried wearing it to bed to see if it sparked sexy dreams, but I got nada. I'll try again after my cycle moves on.

Big sharp ozone smell in the imp, but when it hit my skin, it sweetened up. Now I smell like the leather store in the mall. Seriously. Soft leather, with ozone and just a tiny hint of sweetness. I really like it, though I can't imagine I'll have much call to wear it. I hope it'll smell good on the hubby, too. ETA: On the husband, it smelled like cigarettes. Nothing but tobacco. ::sigh::

General citrus recommendations - and discussion of all things orange

Cheshire Cat has citrus, but it burns away to florals, so I didn't much care for it. I'd recommend Night-Gaunt - it has high, cheerful grapefruit throw, and underneath it is the smell of snow, with maybe just the barest hint of flowers. Soooo beautiful. (Plus, the citrus wakes you right the heck up.) -
Violet usually produces a powdery tone on me, and this one was no exception. But the spices kept it from taking over, and this is quite a gentle, feminine scent. It's not for me, but it's quite pleasant.

In the imp, this smelled fresh and green. On my skin? Instant baby powder. Off to swap.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

Wow - I don't think they could be more different. On me, Spirits of the Dead was like a hot toddy - lemon and sugar, and with the sweet, delicate linden on the dry-down. Hungry Ghost Moon was nothing but a musky green fog. -
This smells to me of watery ozone and faint herbs. It's very light and soothing - I imagine it would make a great men's fragrance. Verdict? Pleasant, but not for me.

I was a little afeared of this, because I've had bad reactions to a couple of the apple scents. However, wet to dry, this smelled like a juicy red apple with a layer of caramel. There's just a hint of the coconut, but it doesn't overwhelm. Not my kind of scent, but it's very impressive.

Thanks to the amazing swap powers of Nursekins, I got to try this. It reminds me a lot of Scherezade. Unfortunately, that's not a compliment. It starts out kind of sweet-spicy, a little like Morocco, but somewhere in there it takes a turn for the head shop. Dry, my skin turns it to a sickly dirty hippy smell. ::sigh:: Off to swap.

Wet, this smelled heavily aquatic, with a hint of tea. It dried to become a very sophisticated men's cologne. Too darn masculine for me, but I have high hopes for trying it on my hubby tonight. ETA: On my husband, it was a dark, smoky scent that screamed 'Sex me up, baby!' Absolutely divine. Unfortunately, his skin also amped it up to the point of ridiculousness - I could smell it sitting across the room. A little dab'll do ya, indeed. The musk was predominate, with an underlying sweetness that must be the vanilla, and a little smokiness from the tea. He says, "Weirdly enough, this makes me think of bay rum." (Note: I don't smell any bay rum.)

I'd suggest Eos, The Moon, Bat-Woman, Queen Mab (beautiful and complex), Peitho or Wicked. -
This smells like...well...lemon Pledge . Seriously. Not the scent for me.
