In the bottle- I smell deadwoods. Dry and dusty, On Me: The vanilla comes out and stays, however, the cedar controls in and blends nicely. It is a good scent for a hot and dry day- a good campfire scent. Something for the outdoors in any case. Very distinct, its one that will attract attention to you if you are around people not used to the combo. "Wow, SOMETHING smells good over here". A bit like opening a cedar chest in a dusty and hot attic. Also mingles well with the scent of Three Jacks (as in I wore Tombstone, my husband wore TJ). It made quite the Deadwood pair...
-
In the bottle- Almond-like, Cedar like, and smokey. On my husband- A bit like Tombstone on me, It has a deep deadwoods smell. Still a bit smokey- campfire smoke. Just a smidge of vanilla or something sweet. Not as much as Tombstone but a masculine counterpart to it. I like this on him.

I received this as an imp with my last order. In the bottle- Very fresh, green smell. Fresh forest greens in early summer. On Me- Herbal, but its a clean, everyday herbal feel compared to an anointing, special occasion herbal feel such as Embalming Fluid. Pretty yet gender neutral- my husband could wear as well as me. When it goes on there was a sort of sweet aftertone to it that dissappeared once it dried on me, leaving a sort of natural clean smell on me without it being overpowering. This would be perfect as a soap. I will savor this preciousssss..... EDIT: Moved from Bewitching Brews to Up-and-Coming because it isn't officially on the Lab site yet --Shollin

In the bottle- a bit medicinal, in a comforting sense. On me- Medicinal and Woodsy. Kind of like getting a hot medicine tea from a healer in the forest. Slight fruit smell (a just a tad like raisins). I like it, but it seems like it would really take off for me in winter.
-
In the bottle- I can smell the tea and what reminds me of a berry tree- the leaves of it, not the fruit. I didn't know if I would like it because I was getting a faint, bitter "afterwhiff" after picking out some woodsy sort of notes. On me- Changed to blackberry. Sweet, ripe, freshly picked while still in the woods blackberry. It was nostalgic too, because I swear I could smell one of my old Strawberry Shortcake dolls. No bitter aftersmell on me. I am more of a spicy scent girl. But this is a nice change, when would want something light. Maybe this could be layered with Baron Samedi....

In the bottle- Fresh Cut Hay! The farm in springtime. Greenish- living plants On me- Fresh bundled Hay! The farm in autumn. Makes me want to go on a hayride.

My husband is fond of the following: Embalming Fluid (tied as favorite) Old Port Au Prince (tied as his favorite) Baron Samedi Jolly Rogers He's also getting to like Fenris Wolf and Seance. We also have Lear and Iago. He made an order of imps a couple weeks ago (since I picked the other three orders) so that he could choose the scents he wanted to try, that list included: Apothecary Jabberwocky Mad Hatter Djinn Roadhouse Carnivale Severin Vicomte de Valmort Faustus DeSade Hellfire Torment Laudanum Dissipation Danse Macabre Wilde Don't how much he will like the pending orders but there were plenty that caught his interest.

In th bottle: It smells dry, even when wet. Spicy and Earthy- a bit of a bite to it. It reminds me of something that couldn't put my finger on till later... On me- I got it! After wearing it I figured out what it reminded me of. Every fall, Yankee Candle Co would sell a candle called "Autumn Leaves". It smelled the same. Not just the candle scent- but the burning candle scent, the leaves in the scent- the flame, spices. It is an instant Samhain mood setter. And I got to wear it everywhere I went. On my husband- amazingly it smelled the same on him as it did on me, a rarity in smells with us. One thing, a little goes a long way. My husband discovered this first and after being generous applyng to himself, well- everyone noticed he was wearing a new scent. For about 8 hours. Just put in for a bigger bottle.

In the bottle: The woods are prominent, but the lilac is pretty strong. It is like you are a Victorian room, one without windows and with a "closed in" feel, a bit musty, but where someone has placed some flowers inside to freshen it up a bit. On me: The florals come out stronger, now instead smelling the room itself, I smelled more of the young proprietor/hostess wearing a Victorian perfume who happens to be in said "closed in" room. Subtle differance, but there was one. I like the wood combo a lot. I love the lilac and rose combination, since the lilac keeps the rose smell from becoming to overpowering as it normally would on me.
-
In the bottle: Spicy- very spicy. Exotic, wear-as-little-clothing-as-possible feel to it. On me- A bit seductive, something intimate about it, basically because you have to be really close to me to be in the smell zone. Its strong, but not you cant smell it acrossed a room. It works very well with my sweat (dancing). Really makes me want to be around summer bonfires. On my husband- obviously its comes off more masculine on him. Also the spices and bay rum seem more matured, still sexy, almost like having a summer heat crush on an older man if that makes any sense.
-
In the bottle: smells like a thick forest right after it rains, woods scent that cuts to the senses. On me: for a while it smells alot like the bottle- reminds me of a nearby Pennsylvania pine forest, then the patchouli comes out and makes it seem more exotic instead of a nearby forest. I saw it as a gender-neutral scent by that point, neither masculine nor feminine, but very earthy. One for my bigger bottle list.

Sadly, this is not the case for us. The order in question had shipped 5/1, recieved the USPS tracking number and all. We just never got it. The USPS is saying it was delivered. No worries, looks like Elizabeth and Nella are aware of all.
-
I appreciate the thought, though. I am just being (probably too) paranoid in the thought of losing any more packages before we have our full sniffing satisfaction. I've seen posts of folks who did not get the tracking email before their packages arrived, so something gnawed at me from there to be sure we didn't miss any other orders. Something about the preciousssss, right? Color me Gollum.

Sorry, but no, nothing in common there. No Amandas in our home. No matches on the scents. Alas, Ms. Holmes, I believe the game is still afoot for your LUSH friend. Our order contained: Omen Shadow Bordello Baron Samedi Sin Fenris Wolf I am still thinking it got delivered locally somehow in our area, just not to us, and no way to really know if no one returns the package. We live in a house with the mailbox attached to it, but its a long street route.

Hi Elizabeth- I'm am the wife half. It is regarding the 14223 orders, and I got a reply to my Monday re-email last night. To our knowledge- Justric did not get a reply to his email (it was his honeydew day)- perhaps his work address filtered it out. The first order- made on 4/7, did get to our house. No problems there. I sent an email to update this with Nella as well the day it arrived. It is the second order, from 4/8, that never arrived, though it was marked "delivered" 3 days before the 4/7 order arrived to our house mailbox- and one business day after it (the second order) was sent out on 5/1. The post office said since the tracking said delivered, it must have been and to file a lost mail complaint. I am thinking the postman dropped it to the wrong house somewhere and whoever got it, kept it and smells better than normal. I double checked all three order receipts and they all did have the same street address, no typos, so it should be okay to send the 4/14 order when you are ready. I was just worried that it had already been sent and perhaps lost- a little phobia since I can't get the USPS to even look for the lost 2nd package. Sorry about the pestering. We are grateful for your help! Hallows_Eve

In the bottle: Reminded me of Big Red chewing gum. On me: I didn't think I was going to like this, I am not so much into candy scents- but as the day went on (this had some real staying power BTW). I sort of liked it. I think its is when the cinnamon calmed down and the other notes came out on me.
-
This scent is so me! In the bottle: Smells delicious- almost like cake. On me- Transforms into something more ethereal and loses the food aspect. The honey and almond complements my skin so much that it seems made for me. (This and Jack). Its a lighter scent, good for spring and summer.
-
Maybe she is backed up right now. My husband sent an email a couple days ago that we are waiting an answer on as well. I am sure we'll hear something soon (Why do I keep hearing Hannibal Lector: "All in good time, Clarice"? Spring fever just makes me a antsy)
-
In the bottle- Amber! I love the smell of amber. A little goes a long way, and if you are more sensitive, you may want to apply it on lower areas (knees, feet, hips) so that it wafts more subtly toward the noses. On me- sweet and smokey amber, the musk is more subtle on me, but noticeable- a lighter musk. It smells downright exotic on me. On my husband- less sweet and more smokey, but the amber comes out on him even more (I cant smell the musk on him at all).
-
In the bottle- The Roses are still alive in some old lady's house or attic. Old and musty smell. Reminds me of he 1920's for some reason. On me: Dead Roses and dust. I can't decide if I like it. I sort of do, but I sort of think "Is this for me?" The scent seems familiar. Like going through a great grandparents home, but something darker is lingering underneath. Creepy and tempting at the same time. On my husband- less rose and more earthy where I was more the opposite. I wouldn't have imagined that it would be a masculine scent, and if it smelled on him like on me, it wouldn't be. But his chemistry tends to overpower florals and take on other notes instead.
-
In the bottle- herby, clean, neither masculine nor feminine- or both. Pretty gentle. On me: stayed the same most of the day, though it faded faster then some other scents. The best thing about this is that you can touch up and people around you are not going "alright, who opened up that bottle of perfume?" Makes me feel anointed. On my husband: His skin chemistry gave it a more sexy masculine tone, but it also faded faster on him. He still this one alot. We plan on getting a bigger bottle of this one.
-
In the bottle: Pine is very distinct. Very woodsy. On Me: The pine is not so noticable because my skin took on the cypress more. Still very woodsy but dried with a sort of sweet "after smell".
-
In the bottle: I loved it in the bottle. Heady, spicy, adventurous. However: On Me: For some reason, after about an hour or so, it turned into a sort of fabric softener smell- like Bounce dryer sheets. This was sort of weird, because I like the "fresh out of the dryer" smell, but its not what I was expecting with a scent based of a notorious female pirate.
