The Night Raven. To me it's a cold stone with incense, it's just amazing. I love incense notes, to me this is The One. I also love Al Azif, but it's much warmer and almost milky.

Dawn : Mourning Victory smells exactly like that to me. -
Shoot me and kill me, this is so nice. When I first opened it I thought, whoa, hit me with a big candy brick why don't you, but after application I felt like I could smell something vaguely dusty, like under the sofa cushions? It's been on for about three hours and still has power. Very very good. You need this. Trust me.

Formerly in Illyria, now in Discontinued - Hermia reviews Thank you, I thought it would be in Illyria, but it was not, then I saw it was DCed. And wept.

Hermia? Anybody? help me?

This is pretty and perfumey to me, lovely and sort of strangely neutral.

Oooh I am going to try it. The Whipped I got was Trauma, it's traumatic to me that the peach is so light but it's a good Josie pairing.

Love, love, love. Love this. Really. Orangey, juicy, grounded with a gorgeous patchouli, so beautiful. This smells like 1967 to me, not quite Filthy Hippy but Love Child. And if you like this, try that Ira Bath Oil. OMG gorgeous and so rich. On those days when I really need a stronger scent these two are perfect, I prefer Vixen over Snake Oil, it has that citrus note that lightens everything up for me and makes it less goth, more cerebral.

No, I have not tried that, but it sounds pretty amazing, and right up my alley! -

Red from the Fraggles is quite gorgeous warm citrus, very juicy. Strangely, there is no citrus in it, but it just smells that way to me. Gobo is lemony, orangey too, but also sweet. Ira bath oil is pretty amazing, it smells like blood orange to me. -
Pieman is sick. I love the smell and the actual soap is so pretty, dark blue with some pink. ModderRu, I haven't tried the Pearl Diver yet, but imp is one of my BPAL favorites. I just ordered a whipped, can't for the life of me remember which one...

I got one! Pieman is very compatible to Two Barred Flasher, they both have juicy gorgeous blueberry. I love Villianess soaps, and the scrubby things. Love the lather on the soaps, I cant' use any other soap now.

Pink Floyd wasn't around in the fifties, but you might like them if you were fifty But seriously, Lolita is not only a great vintage work, both in film and in print, but from BPAL a really good perfume, sort of fruity and bubblegum, but also very feminine. Like Lolita herself. Leanan Sidhe to me is very old timey, also Haunted which smells like an old perfume called Shalimar to me. If you like Rosemary you might like Catherine. -
As soon as I see reviews that say "Bleech cherry cough syrup gross and yucky" I run to press the Buy It Now button, but somehow I have avoided buying the BB of Black Phoenix, and I thank the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla for selling me hers. I love this. It's cherry and darkness and love. Love. It's not too candy sweet, it has a bit of an edge. Oh and I always kiss mirrors, I guess this is perfect for me

What is this perfume fixative of which you speak? I need some of that!!! Wearing Lot & His Daughters today, why does this have to be so good?
-
I second this Al Azif is amazing, but it is kind of milky, if you like that it's great. It's kind of what I wanted Morocco to be except I can't smell Morocco. It's similar in feel to Kubla Khan, but less salty.
-
I'll be gambling, why not. After all I have had so many hits, Cloister Graveyard, Philosopher in Meditation, Arrival at the Sabbath, Lot & His Daughters (shoot me and kill me, this is so good), I want to give a few others a chance, like The Ecstasy of St. Theresa, And There Was a Great Cry in Egypt, La Mort Qui Danse and Ressurection of the Flesh. And that is it. Maybe... oh yeah, Judith Victorious, I knew there was one more.

I will be getting a back up of this one before the Salon goes away, wow it is incredible. There are so many levels, and changes in this one, it morphs and vacillates, no need to slather. I get the same incense note of love as The Night Raven and Pteropus Whoeverhewas, a nice soft leather, tangerine, and even I can smell them!! It's not men's cologne for me at all, it's smart, sophisticated, beautiful, well blended, heaven. For when I don't want to smell like candy. It could be for a lady or a man though, perfectly unisex. I don't know why I smell leather in this, something leathery? I don't know. The patchouli is so nice too, not obnoxious.
-
Lot and His Daughters has the same incense note as The Night Raven, but with other nice things as well, like a soft leather, soft so you won't smell like fine luggage.

Once when I wore Shoeul (sp? The Hebrew term for the underworld) I dreamed about my mother, who is passed. It was very intense.

For orange I would say Vixen, and Celanthous (sp?) Silkmoth from the Metamorphasis. Lemon, there's always Lemon Scented Sticky Bat, Embalming Fluid from the GC. -
Peach, Peach Blossom, Apricot, Nectarines

Peach! I am nuts for Peach! I love Peach! I have peach with me most days, in my Mad Hatter locket in the form of the incredible Imp. Imp is awesome!!!!!!! My hands down favorite Peach though is Josie. Josie is incredible. Buy some Josie. If you like peach this one is for you. Urd has a lot of that high pitched fruit in it as well. -
Dusk, I find The Night Raven to have a lot of similarity with Pteropus Leucopterus.Indeed there is no sandalwood in it, but there is similarity none the less.

This is sweet and spicey, sort of in the same family as Kubla Khan, but without the leathery stuff. I love this, it's warm and deep. Very golden. I just ordered my Big Bottle of this, I am so obsessed with it, the imp is toast. This is so delicious and warm, very much like Morrocco but with a bit more backbone.
