ivyandpeony, you can send that Arrival to me, I flipping love it. Philosopher is amazing, my friend got some last year, I loved it on her, but never got it for some reason, but I just got my own yesterday. It's resiny rich, and very round.

Holy Carnation Batman, why did I not order five bottles of this! Wait! I still can! OMG this is so good, it's so lush, and Clemence? WTF? I don't smell this in Clemence, that is a clove TKO for me. This is not sharp like Maiden, it's warm and round, lush and gorgeous. Just gorgeous. Oh, and it lasts for hours and hours. Edit * I am so stupid. Today I reached for my bottle of Clemence (I mean my partial dwindling down to a few precious drops bottle) and there it was! That carnation note right on top and still there an hour later...

I got my Salon order today, right out of the mailbox Lot and His Daughters is awesome, salty and deep, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

???? There's rose in this? This smells like Imp to me, but on steroids. Very fruity. I think I am losing my mind after I read the notes. That said, I really liked this.
-
Okay. Following Impolight's reviews is like getting two love notes, one containing a perfect and lyrical sonnet, akin to one written by one of the great bards of yore, let's say, Shakespeare for instance, and the second one just saying "Do you like me? Check one for yes, two for no." Clearly I wrote the second one. On to the review... Lately all patchouli is smelling fruity to me. This is OK by me. I have had this imp of Dance of Death for quite some time, but for some reason, I did not really remark on it, but it never got tossed into the No Just No, Get Out box. Today I put it on and thought, wow! Hey! It's that great dirty patchouli of OWS fame, it's furry and fabulous! But there is something else there as well, something super fabulous, and it's my True Love, black musk, sigh. I have checked one for yes.

BPTP (Hair Gloss, Atmo, Bath Oil) to BPAL Similarities/Reccs

I second Penitence, and also recommend All Souls, which you can get on Etsy right now, and Midnight Mass. You might also want to look at Gothic Horror, and Clemence for clove. -
I freaking love this. This is incense heaven, without any wood or leather or other horrors. Some flowers, mostly resins. Love this.

Holy Filthy Patchouli Batman! There's that OWS Patch, but in this it's surrounded by blankets of resiny goodness, which keep it from bashing me in the face with it's shrillness. This is so good, so yummy, the same deep, lushness of Smokey Moon or Tombeur but somehow more gentle, more artful. This is a blend like Avenger for me, something I could wear to work and not frighten the people. Heavenly. Will need more of this one. I am kind of surprised this isn't more lauded.

All Souls is amazing to me, but I find it very frankincense dominant, which is fine by me. Ella I have your Night Raven flying to you...I hope maybe you will love it... Oh! And here is one I just tried, that is pretty amazing, Gothic Horror.
-
I don't know that one! Let me know if you try it. Get some The Night Raven, if you want I have an imp I can send you, just drop me a PM.
-
I love incense too! Have you tried my favorite of all time, The Night Raven? It's awesome beyond awesome for me. Also from the Tanukis, Jibiki and Tanuki No Amiuchi. The Witch Queen is one that I have been dying to try as well. What about Morgause?

To me the rose in Schlafende Baigneuse is just like the rose in Snooty Roses or Seance. That said I am a huge rose fan. It is a sharp fresh rose, not a dried rose, like the one in Harlot.

Creating BPAL Gift Packs with a Theme

I have four : Testing, OMG Love This Must Buy It, Meh, and Unspeakably Vile. -
Genius topic, I have been wearing myself out tonight listing, reading, this BPAL stuff is like work sometimes For me, the standouts are Cloister Graveyard in the Snow, amazing. I tried like 5 Yules with the snow note wanting them all to be this, the only one that came close was Dust of Snow. I love this in the summer, it actually feels cool on my skin. Arrival at the Sabbath and Homage to the Devil, beautiful lush caramel. Heavenly. I want to try these, so I may end up buying some/all Three Brides Judith Victorious Philosopher in Meditation Lot and His Daughters La Mort Qui Danse The Penitent Magdalen OK, so I made my first OMG order, with Lot & His Daughters, Three Brides and The Philosopher. Ruddy Daggerwing and Spanish Red Carnation came along for the ride.

This is nice, but really reminds me of a weaker, wimpier Heroine.
-
Wow this is really amazing. It has lushness and greenness, but no particular flowery scent comes up. I really like this and think it would be a great hot summer scent. I do love this one, however I had a strange experience with it, I put some on before a nap and I dreamed a very intense dream about my late mother, so strange.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils
stellamaris replied to friendthegirl's topic in BPAL FAQs
Steeped in the world of Satan? Seriously. Wow. Occasionally I get irritated spots that are almost blistery, but this goes away quickly if I use my Eucerin Calming Creme. I also associate mine with too frequent (hello OCD anyone?) bathing. Some Cinnamon makes me go red (Chimera, thankfully not Playful Wooden Mallets.) but that is about it. -
I had to get a decant of this, curiosity got the better of me. But no. Yeah. Just no. radishes indeed...
-
My husband also does the sweet non foody, his favorites are (again) Tombeur, The Robotic Scarab, Lady Death Savage, Debauchery, and Hellboy.
-
Amazing, this is just glorious. It does not smell sad to me, it smells like gorgeous. Flowery, I surely smell violets, there is a tangy, sparkly thing that runs through the center. This smells like yes. My notes say "Buy this! Now!" I must obey the sticky notes...
-
This was the first Metamorphosis that I bought this year, and it is the Blueberry Goodness of Good. That's all I have to say, it's just good, unique, does not smell like any other BPAL, and you should buy it. OK? Really, I love this one, it's sweet but not cloying, very rich and satisfying.

Oooh and Blood Rose is quite creepy to me, but I love it. -
Sweet scents, sugar notes & things that smell like candy

Lampades is one of my favorites, I love those really juicy fruit things, in the vein of Urd, Josie, The Vine, but I don't think of them as "sugary" myself. -
Um, too radishy for me. I had to have a decant just to see...
-
Very very nice floral sweetness, not too sophisticated, not too silly. Yes please.
