Wow. I am really loving this. Very similar to the rose in Zombi, but not the same perfume at all. I think I may need 49 bottles. I think this may be better than Peacock Queen. I get that this is a "dried rose" but it isn't the same as say, Miss Jessel, it's much sharper.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?
stellamaris replied to Nadirah's topic in Recommendations
The Trading Post has a really nice rose perfume oil right now for Lupers, Ruined Roses. It has a sharp Zombi rose in it, which on dry down is also very much like Zombi, but not the same. -
I have not done a full test of this one, but from what I have it reminds me of another 13, the one with the red label? It's the white chocolate. When I first opened the bottle I thought, wow! Strawberry! but that might have also been another sharp red fruit, and it burns off into chocolatey goodness. The dry down is very nice. Another hit for the 13s. And the bottle art is fierce.

Well, in my quest to have all of the Thirteens, I thought, this one probably won't smell THAT great but I'll take a chance. Wow. Was I wrong. This is awesome! It's super lemony on me, which I love, but not like a citronella yucky candle to keep the bugs away, this is sweet lovely lemon, which then dries down into who knows what but it's springy and marvelous. I can see wearing the heck out of this. This is one of my only 13s which does not have a very upfront chocolate note. I can sort of smell it? But not overtly. Love this.

This is beautiful, and seemingly very evocative, and different for everyone. It reminds me of Gacela of the Dark Death, but somehow less aggressive (no clove), and more sophisticated. Just gorgeous, it's piney without being Pine Sol baby, and as I wear it it softens but somehow is still very present. Smells almost sandalwoody in the bottle. Very wearable and absolutely unisex.

The absolute perfect cool on the skin minty lavender go to sleep thing. Aptly named. Absolutely an out in front not buried in the back of others bottle.

This is really beautiful. It reminds me of a gentler Gacela of the Dark Death (sp?), the same pine and darkness, but a little less ferocious.

Wine, Beer, Rum, Bourbon... the booze scents
stellamaris replied to spark's topic in Recommendations
I love wine scents, that is my absolute favorite. It's really rich and deep. -
Oooh so delicious...the coconut is not too overwhelming, it's sort of soft and delicious. Then pouf it was gone. That said I only really tried it yesterday, which was sort of a difficult perfume day, nothing seemed to stick around. So, for now, this is awesome, will retry to see if it wants to hang out.

Obsidian Widow for sure. It's amazing. The wine listed is Pinot Noir, and it is juicy dark and red. Winning. The rose in this is not strong at all, in fact I didn't even know it had rose in it. It's much more of a wine scent than Blood Rose IMO. -
ugh I feel the same way, it's hard for me to get out of bed lately. I feel like a hibernating bear, not getting anything done. Personally, I really like fresh fruity things right now, that remind me of nicer weather. The Fruit of Paradise, any of the Peach Pits, Red Moon, Adoration of the Mi Goh, and I am loving the vetiver things from the Lupers which remind me of dirt, vetiver always smells like dirt to me, like Mars Alator, and The Commentary, with fig and apricot respectively. Fruit is better for me right now than flowers. I might also recommend some TALs, I like Perpetuum Bonum, which is very cherry heavy, there is also Radiance of Ra or even Energy, which you might need right now.

This may be too good to pour in the bath. I am clearly going to need more bath oil, this is the perfect lovely honey, with other outdoorsy stuff. Really fresh and nice.

Ummm, delicious Blood Rose...I want to rub this all over my body...wait! I can! Just as advertised.

Shoot me an kill me, this is awesome. Patchouli lovers, get this right now. It's different from the GC Amber & Patchouli. I won't be able to wear this to work, but that's OK. I have been filling my patchouli needs with Silky Bat, but this is patchouli with a backbone.

Ooh pretty pretty... lovely incensey, light-ish but still present. LOVE this. This will go nicely with many different things, and be a well behaved rose when I don't want to live in a cloud of Rose Red.

Well, I got the same batch as annemathematics, very vanilla heavy. I wouldn't have minded the tobacco, but as I already have Fallen Woman, which is a beautiful tobacco, I am happy to have this vanilla gorgeousness. Edit : after a week or so, I do get the tobacco, and it's very nice. Not as strong as Fallen Woman but quite good. No anise smell whatsoever.

Whoa this is amazing. Beautiful. I have to hoard this for my job, my girl loves lavender like a maniac, so I spray all her stuff and often my clothes with it. She's very scent sensitive (I am a personal makeup artist for an actress) for instance hates patchouli (probably due to having hippie parents), but loves lavender, and loves scented things, so I am always on the lookout for something with a specific scent, that isn't obnoxious, as we work in a room with other humans. This is perfect.

Olibanum, Blood, and Clove Atmosphere Spray
stellamaris replied to razzlecupcake's topic in Atmosphere
This is gorgeous. And MCS4096, we must be scent relatives because I agree, it's amazing with the Whiskey one, as I found out yesterday, spraying stuff willy nilly with glee and abandon. I get clove in here, and it's lovely. I do really really love this, but I find it goes poof. Silly stuff... -
Whiskey, Candlesmoke, and Musk Atmosphere Spray
stellamaris replied to razzlecupcake's topic in Atmosphere
OMGosh. Raving here, previous poster MCS4096. This is awesome. It doesn't smell like a bar to me (hey I am a child of the 80s, I think bar I think McSorley's at 7am, which smelled like 50 years of spilled beer, throw up and cigarettes. Blergh), but it could be the idea of say, a speakeasy in the 1920s? There is a boozy smell, but it's not overwhelming or extremely specific to me. It just adds beautiful depth. The musk makes an amazing incense. I sprayed it last night and kept thinking what is that? Is that my perfume? but it wasn't, it was the sofa where I'd spray the stuff. Just beautiful. Sorry this review makes no sense, but I am so overwhelmed by this. I thought it might be "fun" but instead it's really serious and gorgeous. It's like falling in love. -
This is a beautiful well blended perfume. I am not picking out anything in particular here, could be the stormy weather dulling my senses. Again. That said this is lush and Velvet-y (referencing the perfume Velvet, it has that same dark plush vibe), and the jasmine is lovely, but it's not that sharp sort of jasmine. I think those who fear the jasmine might be fine with this one. It marries with the bourbon vanilla, amber and laudanum into something very smooth and nice.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
stellamaris replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
I love Agent Carter, and that whole time period. I think that for Peggy In Templum Dei is too frankincense heavy, too medieval/modern if that makes any sense. Lady Death could be good, it's a very well blended cologne type fragrance, one of my own DH's favorites, and he tends to slightly feminine scents. Spooky Action though could be amazing! I think Haunted could be worth a shot, it smells very "of that period" to me, the top notes smell very much like Shalimar. For Each Ecstatic Instant could also be nice for Peggy, it could be of that period. When I think of Peggy personally I could see her wearing Dawn Mourning Victory, which is a strong deep floral or (yes I know it's corny) Avenger. These are only personal impressions though. -
I never reviewed this, bad me. This was a gift to me, with a wink, as I tend to turn most things sweet anyway. I love this, it's a delicate sweet sugar scent, kind of perfect and light hearted without being silly.

seeing the picture I know I have seen that flower in California (I used to live in LA) but I never noted the scent of it. My strongest scent memories from living there are the Jacarandas and the night blooming jasmine.

This was another "cloud of gorgeous" from this years Lupers. I seemingly amp or can smell mostly the black cherry, and this is more like real cherry than cherry candy, everything else is there for back up. More creamy than tart, a gorgeous, delicate perfume.

This is amazing. The chocolate is perfect, and the "stout" is also. I love this. I totally don't get any weakness from this, great lasting power.
