Favorite Scents
I really love the BPAL fragrances: BLOOD MOON, Dia De Los Muertos, Eclipse, Gingerbread Poppet, Harvest Moon, Jack, SEA OF GLASS, Sugar Skull, Trick or Treat, Tushnamatay and White Rabbit. My favourite scents are magnolia, rose, jasmine, chocolate, coffee, amber, gardenia, nag champa, vanilla, plumeria and many other fragrances. Prior to BPAL my favourite perfumes were; Poison, Hypnotic Poison, Passion, Sand and Sable and Egyptian Goddess. I am not fond of patchouli scents, heavy musks, vetiver, civet, pine or citrus-y fragrances. BPAL fragrances that did not work for me are: All Night Long, Bed of Nails, Blood, Blood Countess, Blood Kiss, Blue Moon, Buck Moon, Dana O'Shee, Devil's Night, Dorian, (The) Dormouse, Eternal, Fruit Moon, Haunted, Hellcat, Jailbait, Laudanum, Libertine, Lick It, Love Me, Midnight, Muse, Namaste, Nuit, Spooky, Strawberry Moon.

Very nice blend. In the bottle I get floral with a note of orange hiding in the background. It is a lovely fragrance. But it is not for me, I don't think. On, my skin turns it really soft and talc-y. Not unpleasant, but not me. It smells wonderful and is a very pretty floral and citrus blend, soft as a whisper. I think I seem to enjoy the fragrances you can smell... from 80 miles away. Thereabouts.

I will say at the get-go that I adore foody as well as Autumn scents... so I might be a bit predjudiced when I say Ummmmm. YUM!!!! This is GORGEOUS. The scent is buttery and creamy with cinnamon spice in the bottle. On my skin there is a bit of an "outdoorsy" fragrance... maybe pine-ish? I really, really, really love the fragrance. Like Jack and Trick or Treat (to me) this scent captures the delicious scents of Fall that I love so much. Excuse me please whilst I go chew my wrists off.

I'll say at the get-go that I dislike most fruit-y fragrances. I am trying to keep an open mind because I normally detest aquatic notes and I LOVE Sea of Glass So ~ I am going to test this one, anyway. In the Imp ~ This smells dry and medicinal to me. No fruit. Just antibiotic medicinal. Odd that. Wet ~ Dry fruits. I was right. I really, really dislike this. Smells of medicine to me. Fruity antibiotics. *goes to wash it off*

In the Imp ~ Burning my nose strawberry... sort of like cough syrup ~ but I will test it, anyway. Wet ~ Strawberry. Bubble. Gum. *washing this off* I was right ~ not gonna warm up to this one. Off it goes. :cough:

This is very, very nice. Like walking in an apple orchard in the fall ~ In the Imp ~ Apples and sugar... which sounds foody ~ but this does not strike me as foody in the bottle as much as (clean) earthy. Wet ~ Cinnamon applesauce and a berry-ish scent. On the drydown I get powdery soft apples with burnt brown sugar coating. Perfectly carmelised apples with a hint of floral (the dahlia?) peeking through. Lovely, gorgeous depiction of the best parts of Fall... my favourite season in the year.

I didn't think I would like this because normally I don't like anything with an aquatic tone in it. Was I ever wrong. I will have to go back and read the reviews after I have written mine because this scent reminds me of something (it is a top note that I can't pick out) that is drop-dead sublime. That being said: In the imp ~ Tuberose and the seaside Wet ~ Something that I cannot place which is driving me nuts ~ but I LOVE it. Oooooo... so gorgeous. On the drydown ~ this is like taking a walk on the beach. I have no clue what I am smelling ~ but this imp will be treasured and kept and used... and I am ordering a 10 ML bottle with my next order. I ADORE this scent!!

In the Imp ~ Jasmine and frankincense. Very strong and very lovely. Wet ~ Jasmine and a slight, powdery fragrance... which might be the sandlewood. On the drydown ~ a perfect blend of florals and resins!! This is divine. It is hard for me to find mixed floral scents that I like that don't wash out on me. This scent has *excellent* throw ~ a little bit goes a long, long way. This scent lasted on me for over 8 hours! I had it on last evening and it just stayed and stayed... and it stayed true on my skin! I really like this. This will be a scent added to my Top 10 list.

In the imp ~ Amber tones with magnolia. Very pretty. Stronger than I imagined it would be... (which is a good thing...) Wet ~ Magnolia blending with Jasmine. The amber tones waaaayyyy down on me. On the drydown ~ Lovely magnolias and jasmine with a hint of powdery, gorgeous, darkened amber. *inhales deeply* I like this one. And I am much relieved ~ considering the name of this blend. It is a keeper for me!

Oh, very nice... Mmmmmm... In the Imp ~ Red, juicy apples with warm, soft spicing. (Like nutmeg and cinnamon dusting) Wet ~ OOooooo... very, very nice. This turns to a lovely spiced cider on me with a warm, spicy undertone that is gorgeous. Hints of vanilla seem to be poking out, every so often. On the drydown ~ this is the scent of apple pies cooking in the oven on a cool autumnal evening. Very warm, inviting, comforting. I am looking forward to testing out the magical use of the scent... particularly those areas that are highlighted, below. "Used to open up options in your life, overcome obstacles, and create opportunities. This blend increases your potential for success, inspires creativity and quick thinking, and helps you to be more flexible, adaptable and open to change." Ummmm. Yeah. I am pretty inflexible, not often open to change (went through major change in 2005 ~ didn't go well, am not in a big hurry to change anything, ever, ever, again...) and I am far from adaptable. I am also very blocked (in all areas of life, right now...) and I am overcoming some obstacles and I need to be creative with creating new opportunities in my life since I messed my life up in such a spectacular way last year... I will definitely try the magical properties of this oil out.

In the imp ~ Green herbs growing in a window garden... crystal clean scent. Very pretty. Wet ~ Fresh mown grass... (which I am allergic too...) no tea scent. I can feel my throat closing off with this one... my very first allergic reaction to any BPAL scent. I had to wash this off before the drydown could be allowed to happen ~ I started coughing and sneezing up a storm. My first allergic reaction... and I have so adored the other Mad Tea Party scents I have tried... (White Rabbit and Tiger Lily...)

Not sure about this one on me... In the imp ~ Musky, murky jasmine. There is a clean, clear note that mixes with it that I cannot seem to identify. Wet ~ Musk, musk, musk and Jasmine... no hint of smokeyness. I was hoping that would taper the musk scent because musk and I tend to not get along very well. On the drydown. This one is getting washed off. It smells unclean to me. (Must be the dreaded musk on me...) My skin chemistry is amping the musk to a really detestable fragrance on me. I had high hopes since I love night blooming florals and incense... Poo.

In the Imp... Whoa. Cedar and Pine? Why am I getting cedar and pine? Wet ~ I smell like a forest. I love the forest. I don't want to smell like one, though. On the drydown ~ Pine remains... though it did turn softer and I got some notes of sandlewood ~ but I just don't like the cedar and pine scents... Clean smelling ~ would make for a nice mens cologne, I think.

In the imp ~ lovely violets with a soft sweetness that I would imagine is the vanilla. Wet ~ Violets and soft baby powder. On the dry down ~ Talc-y-violets. I can't smell any gardenia at all... I think this is a lovely (though very, very soft) fragrance ~ but my skin gobbles it up very quickly. I generally look for longer staying, stronger scents. I think this is lovely... it is just not me. Very, very soft and feminine, though.

Hmm. Well. In the imp ~ Cinnamon. Very strong cinnamon. Wet ~ Cinnamon and something undiscernable... (On the edit... I was being polite. The undiscernable odor *to me* was cat urine... ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Must be the vetiver or the civet...) On the dry down. Um. Celery. (But no cat urine!!) *grin* This needs to go away. Now. Really. Right. Now. ETA: I still really hated this scent... (Sorry, BPAL ~ I love so many others though! ) but I am happy to report that eventually my wrist ceased to smell of celery after about an hour. I could still smell cinnamon and it was a warm fragrance ~ but then that musk-y smell took over ~ and I really, really, really can't stand most musks...

In the Imp ~ The scent of almond paste hits me full on in the face. WOW. Sniff this one, gently... it is VERY strong in the imp/bottle! Wet ~ More almonds... I was worried that nothing else would show up with my chemistry because in putting it on the almonds just come up and hit me about the head. And not gently, either... On the dry down... Oooooooo very nice. (At ten minutes) I smell like cookies! I really like foody scents ~ so this one is one I will keep around. It would make an awesome body butter! Or lotion... or soap... or bubble bath... Oooooo... I like this one. Initially I was worried because OH! the almonds... The drydown scent is fabulous ~ and long lasting, too. The throw on this scent is not that great unless you really slather it on... so I will be getting a bottle of this!!
