Wet: strong, sharp wood Dry: mellow wood plus something creamy (coconut?) I love woody scents, but I wasn't sure about this at first. Wet, it's very strong and sharp but somehow not very distinct from several other woody oils I have. However, when it dries down, it mellows out and an additional warm, creamy note appears. I can't quite place it, but it may be coconut as others have noted. Wait for drydown, and it's beautiful!!

On me, this dries to creamy orchid with a backdrop of lush green, very tropical and gorgeous. No cinnamon, no pine tree as others had. Very well-balanced, rich floral on me, reminds me of Hawaii. I was hoping for a little more cinnamon, but as always, my skin amps florals like crazy. However, this is one of the few florals I can actually wear, as long as I don't huff it in too much (allergies).

Sparkling dandelion wine! Something about the combination of hops and dandelion makes this really fizz! I can't believe how fresh and lively it is, especially as I was expecting dark and dusty. As it dries more, the sweet dandelion fades a bit so that the hops come through more, but on me it never becomes a strong beer scent at all. Sadly, it fades pretty quickly, but then it's still a lovely muted green scent. Not at all what I expected, but it's gorgeous!

I got this as a frimp, and I'm glad I did. It's gorgeous! While wet, there's a faint component of this that smells exactly like some raw ingredient I've cooked with a few times. I can't quite place it, but I think it might be raw lotus root--a very gentle, wet, starchy sort of scent. I wish I could remember for sure! Anway, this isn't so much an aquatic scent as it is a damp scent, more after the hurricane than during it. It is gentle and fresh but with an underliying earthiness that rounds it out and gives it body. A very natural type of scent, not perfumey or dramatic, perfect for day wear and low-key occasions.

Coppery dried blood, metal, vetiver, and bonfire smoke. Wet, this struck me as being a lighter Brimstone, all smoke, but the longer it dries, the more the smoke fades and the other notes come out. As a couple others have noted, it also goes through a phase where it smells like dark leather. Then it settles down into a warm, dark, slightly sweet scent which I can't separate out into components. But to me it's cozy and comforting, not a torture scene at all!

Deep, dark, rich and fruity-sweet. Lovely, but heavy with a pretty strong throw, not an everyday type scent but perfect for special nights out. I don't really smell smoke, but I'm a fan of Brimstone, so maybe this smoke just pales to nothingness when compared to that. Actually this smells to me like fruit-flavored pipe tobacco fresh in the pack (not being smoked). I'm surprised that there's no tobacco note listed, but I guess it's just a combination of other scents coming together to imitate a very dark tobacco. And of course the wine adds the fruitiness. Very pretty in a heavy way.

On my skin (that amps florals like 1000 times), this is a heavy, cloying floral scent, no ozone, no smoke, no incense. Maybe that's the opium? And besides that, it instantly inflamed my sinuses and sent me running to scrub it off and take Tylenol. Not a good one for me!

Love it! Very light, dry leather with a backdrop of light wood that's been well-oiled (polished), just like the description. Yes, a high-end furniture store smell, as others said. Clean scent, light throw, very long-lasting on me. If you don't like heavy leathers, you might give this one a try.

The notes blend together so that I can't pick out the individual scents, combining into a woody, spicy sweetness that is different from any of the components. These are all notes that I love, but I'm unsure about the combination. However, over time I keep finding myself thinking, "Mmm, what's that wonderful smell?" and then realizing it's this perfume. I tend to sniff my perfumed skin a lot, and up close I'm not crazy about this. However, the scent it throws off is lovely. I just have to remember not to huff it!

This one is odd on me, and I still haven't decided whether I like it or not. The initial dark choclate and lime is wonderful, but it morphs into having an oddly floral scent on top, don't know where the heck that comes from. But the chocolate/lime is still there, too, which is why I'm undecided. I'll have to try this at least one more time and possibly let it age. Interesting.

Yummy!!! This is the perfect blend of spice and chocolate! Sweet, warm, creamy, chocolatey, spicey--like a chai chocolate bar. Absolutely my favorite chocolate candy scent ever!!! More throw and lasts longer than most other milk chocolate scents, too. While wet, the cardamom was predominant, and I loved that too, but it dries into perfect balance.

Too floral for me.

Lovely white chocolate! The best rendition of white chocolate's true scent that I've gotten from a perfume. The fruit scents keep morphing on me for hours, duking it out for supremacy. The apricot goes through a strange phase early on (like Grand Guignol does on me too) where it smells weird and doesn't resemble any other scent I know, but then it settles back into fruity goodness. The raspberry lasted forever on me, long after the rest of the scent had faded, a good bit more than 24 hours. Creamy, fruity goodness!

Gorgeous, light, creamy tangerine! Very fresh and happy. I can't pick out the cypress at all, and I think the white musk is just adding a bit of creaminess and perhaps keeping the tangerine from being at all sharp. My only problem with this is that it fades fast on me, so I'll just have to reapply.

I was hoping for lots of wood, a fair amount of leather, some cognac and only a little tobacco. Unfortunately, on me this is almost entirely tobacco with just a tiny bit of leather and no wood at all. No cognac either. If you love tobacco, go for it. Otherwise, ummm, no.

Wet: Paregoric! Haven't smelt it in years but was immediately taken back to my childhood by that bitter, medicinal, anise scent. Dry: Wonderful balance of anise, orange and clove, just slightly sweet (bitter medicinal smell completely gone). I don't smell the cumin at all, but that's okay. It's gorgeous just the way it is.

This starts out as very smoky, strong oak on me with just a hint of alcohol and fruit. But after drydown, the smoky oak fades out, leaving just enough of itself to keep the scent from being too sweet. It turns into a nicely balanced fruity, lightly alcohol-ish, slightly floral scent with a gentle dark base of smoked oak. Nicely rounded and sophisticated, a bit sweet, a bit dark, a bit sharp. Lovely and warm, rather sexy and a definite keeper.

Love it! It's a bit sharp and strong in the bottle and while wet, but after drydown, that goes away. Then it's beautifully balanced, warm and soft, somehow animalistic in a very good way, like a beloved (clean) pet curled up in your lap. It is, unsurprisingly, on the masculine side but to me is still unisex. I'll definitely be wearing this one!

Oh Wulric, I want to jump your bones! Truly, this is the sexiest scent I've ever had the joy to experience. Shake it up! Yes, it's crucial to shake this oil up before applying it. I didn't the first time and wondered why there was no cocoa absolut, then realized it was all on the bottom of the bottle. But assuming you mixed it well... What a heavenly, complex scent! :love!: Somehow all the notes manage to coexist without any of them either amping or disappearing, as usually happens with me. If I sniff carefully, I can pick out the individual notes, but they blend seamlessly into an amazing, round, glowing aura of warmth. I can't describe it adequately. Just get some and try it yourself!

This smells awesome in the bottle! But unfortunately my skin seems to eat all of it except the cheap cologne. Instead of bourbon or bay rum, I end up with a powdery floral scent. Such a disappointment, especially since I love the label.

Wet: rosewood, greenery, rose Dry: dusty rose, very strong I love this wet! But when it dries on me, the rose amps and amps, keeps getting stonger for at least an hour and drowns out the rosewood. I never smelled the hazel at all. It's a dark, dusty rose that's quite pretty and has a lot of throw, but that's not what I wanted from this.

Wet: fresh mint leaves Dry: powdery sweet (the sugar?) with a tiny hint of bourbon and no mint What a disappointment! I really wanted the boubon scent, would even have liked a pure bourbon, so I was hoping I'd get lots of bourbon, a modicum of mint and little to no sugar from this. Alas, pretty much all I get is powdery sweetness. If I really snort it in, I detect a little bourbon, but that's it. Phooey!

Wet: fresh mint, eucalyptus in the background Dry: floral, with a faint background of mint I liked this when it is was wet, but it dries to be much more floral than I like. I was hoping for mostly mint with just a hint of flowers, but I got just the opposite. Oh well, it was worth a try.

Wet: strong caramel, smoky and sweet -- lovely! Drydown: caramel and smokiness fade away *sigh* This becomes powdery, slightly floral honey on me pretty quickly. Where oh where did the caramel go? I never got a pastry scent at all, and I never really noticed almond either. The drydown on this is nothing at all like what I expected. It becomes somewhat sweet, a tiny bit spicy and quite a bit powdery and floral. And the kicker is that I don't like powdery or floral. However, I might (just might) keep this anyway, as I almost like it a lot anyway. Very odd that I may have a powdery floral I can actually wear. If that weren't so incongruous, I wouldn't hesitate to toss it into the swaps pile, but it intrigues me. I'll have to try this one again later.
