Wet: Stong glossy black leather, smoke and maybe a little lilac. Dry: Very soft bay rum and sweet musk. Good wear length but no trow on me. Very pretty, but I’m not sure I’ll need more than my decant. Smelled amazing on my husband, but he didn’t really care for it. Bummer.

First on: Lavender soap. Not the herbal lavender I like in my favorite sleep blends but the kind that I smell in men’s cologne sometimes. Dry: Ohhhhh... this is good!!! Dry it’s managed to stay clean without being soap-y anymore. It’s as though Dorian and Jareth had a lavender baby. I can distinctly smell Dorian but the hint of leather is throwing my nose off and reminding me of Jareth. I’m not getting any Snake Oil from this but I think that will come with age. This would smell really lovely on my husband, but I’m not sharing. Verdict: Another wallet crying hit from the travelogue.

Blind ordered this as a pick-me-up scent when I have to work long hours during tax season. Fresh on it’s strong lemon - I agree with the fancy lemonade comment. I can’t pick out any of the other notes. Just zingy lemons. Very bright and uplifting. I really like this! My only complaint is this doesn’t last. My skin eats this up and after an hour or so *poof* it’s gone. However, as aromatherapy to quickly give me jolt me at work, this scent fits the bill perfectly.

Frimp from the lab. On me this was O with a twist. If I’d blindly applied this, then I would have sworn that’s what I was wearing. I could only slightly smell the ylang ylang which bummed me because I love that note. It went faint on my skin really fast, too. However, ten hours later a strong sniff of my wrist confirmed it was still faintly there. Not bad, just not for me.

I agree with others that this is very perfume-y, but in the best possible, very expensive perfume way. I smell the amber and maybe some citrus leaning ozone? It’s very well blended. I find it hard to pick out the individual notes. For some reason this reminds me of Klimt’s painting of Adele Bloch-Bauer. A beautiful woman gilt in gold. Regal, expensive, beautiful ... and she can have any man she wants. I will be getting backups.

Skin chemistry is such a cool thing - on me, even though I usually amp benzoin, Goblin is 100% gnarly patch, you can't even pick out the other notes they just lend a sort of sweet creaminess. I love both Body, Remember and Tiki King. I don't find them to be very similar to each other, but now that I think about it, you can pick out that it's black coconut - which to me is a warmer, dryer coconut. Death Adder has black coconut in it, and now that the Snake Pit is back, it wouldn't be hard to get your hands on maybe that's worth a shot. You could also try Death Cap, the notes aren't listed, but whatever coconut note is in it is very warm and dry to me. Could be black coconut. Yeah, I would agree that Body Remember and Tiki King don't smell alike, but they do share that black coconut note. I've ordered a decant of Death Adder. Death Cap was all soil and dirt on me.

I think it's balanced between the notes. Although with my skin chemistry I can end up with a sweet benzoin coconut and a hint of patch. (That said I like most BPAL patchoulis, so long as it's not the dominating note) Awesome! I'm definitely going to try it. Thanks!

Is the patchouli very strong? The "gnarly patchouli" has always made me steer clear of Goblin. Though, as a GC it's going to go on my try list.

I'm almost done with my bottle of Body, Remember and I rarely see it pop up on the sale page. Does any one have a suggestion for a similar coconut replacement? I liked the black coconut note from Tiki King, too - also hard to find. On me, Body, Remember is strongly black coconut, slightly musky, and sweet. So, any recommendations for a good sweet black coconut?

I have to start by saying I love soapy and aquatic blends. On my skin, this is definitely soapy. It smells clean, fresh, and slightly sweet. I would put this in the same vein as Creed Silver Mountain Water. This would be great to wear on hot summer days or after working out at the gym. When I close my eyes, I can smell the blackcurrant and water - which I'm guessing is the snow note. But, overwhelmingly I smell crushed sweet tarts and soap. As Little Bird said, "like huffing dryer sheets"

Take my review with a grain of salt - I received the bottle today. I'll edit my review if rest changes things. In the bottle: Yum! OMG, this is sweet wonderful caramel! Wet on my skin: Leather - no sweet caramel just strong leather. If I could touch the leather, it'd be a buttery suede-like leather. Seriously, I can't smell any other notes at this point. When I close my eyes, I can really picture smelling a leather bound book with gold embossing for the title and author. Dry on my skin: The leather is gone, and now I smell incense, paper, and an unobtrusive floral that I can't quite pinpoint. Wow, this is beautiful dry. I wish I could describe this better. It feels almost aloof and distant. I don't notice much throw. I wonder if that will change after it settles from shipping. Final thoughts: I have several leather based fragrances in my collection and this manages to be unlike any of them. I'm so glad I bought this blind. I'll probably need a back up.

You might like Pickled Imp, if you can track some down. Cinnamon, clove, vanilla, and pine sap. I don't actually get any pine sap from it. On me it's all cinnamon vanilla heaven.

My mother would always give me grape flavored cough syrup when I was sick as a kid. Wet, this is exactly how that cough syrup smelled. As it starts to dry, it sweetens up into grape bubble gum. Dry, this is beautiful. Huh, what a morpher. Dry it is slightly herbal and musky. It still has berries is but a drier tarter berry. It's smells like a sexy vampy woman. If the dry down was what it smelled like from the beginning, I'd buy a huge bottle of this. As it is, I can't get over the awful grape beginning. Although, I can see this being very, very lovely on someone else from beginning to end.

For me, the color of this fragrance would be rich kelly green. On my skin, this is so stem heavy/grassy? It definitely has a soapy floral edge to it that my skin amps and my nose hates. This is just not good on me. As a side note, I was complaining to my mom that this might have to be the first bpal I resold or swapped away. She sniffed the bottle and loved it so much I gave it to her. She said it reminded her of summers in Michigan when she was growing up. So, my loss might be the start of her bpal addiction.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?
Pittseminole replied to Nadirah's topic in Recommendations
You might try Thanatos since you like sandalwood and myrrh. It's "dry white sandalwood and soft Siamese benzoin over a lugubrious blend of myrrh, Moroccan rose, mastic, tomb moss and a thin whiff of Greek incense." Another rose with myrrh is Phantom: Myrrh, dark musk, attar of rose, and ylang ylang. If you're willing to try fruity roses, I would recommend La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente. On my skin it's roses, pomegranates, and peaches.
