testing this out so I can skin it

LXVIII - a repost In the bottle - very pink, fruity sweet smelling with a sharp edge Wet on skin - light and sweet with a faint herbal undertone Drying down - the sweet fruitiness fades into a light, soft, slightly floral scent. It still has the sweet edge to it, but not to the point it was at in the bottle. It's a gorgeous scent, just not one I'll wear.

This is the first of the V-Day scents I got to try on my skin and I am in love. It's sweet and juicy, soft and flowery, and totally sexy and seductive all rolled into one. I've had a lot of problems with scents going wonky and powdery on me lately, but this is pure yumminess. I can't stop sniffing my wrist because of how yummy this is.

Wow. I just got this as an extra, and like it. It's soft and delicate, yet not too obnoxiously girly for me. The flowers blend beautifully and there's just a gentle kiss of vanilla on me. I can see myself wearing this once in a while... not too often, but on the rare occasion that I am feeling a bit girly.

Who do I email with questions? BPAL/BPTP contact info
blackrayne replied to kebechet's topic in BPAL FAQs
I would totally wear a Devil's Panties scent. As long as it was mush and amber and civet free. Sara does indeed rock. She has been wonderfully prompt and courteous every time I've sent email to her. -
I finally got a chance to try Spanked earlier tonight. It's a very interesting scent, but totally not me. After about an hour's dry down it is cardamom and leather on me. But mostly cardamom. Unfortunately, it appears that I am not overly fond of the smell of cardamom and it's making my sinuses scream in agony. It's really quite a shame, too, because I would totally love to tell people that I am wearing "Spanked."

In the bottle: Sweet, sweet, sweet. I feel like I've walked into a cheesecake and cupcake factory. Wet: Pretty much the same as in the bottle. Well, ok... slightly more cheesecake scented, very sweet and creamy and totally edible smelling. Dry (about 30 minutes after application): Mellows somewhat, though still positively craving inducing. I think I may need to find a place that has cheesecake because I want some in the worst way now. Verdict: I don't wear overly sweet foody scents as much as I should considering my love for them, but this will be great every now and again.

In the bottle: barren, desolate, frozen icy chilly mint. Not peppermint, more wintermint as has been mentioned by other reviewers. Wet: Slightly darker and moodier than in the bottle, as if somewhere in the midst of that frozen wasteland there was still a hint of barren earth peeking out. Dry (about an hour after application): Mellowed out version of when wet... stays very true to the original scent. Verdict: I love Beth's minty scents, and this one is no exception. ETA: Getting a horrid sinus headache, I am pretty sure Nuclear Winter is the culprit. I will have to try it again in a few days, but I think it's related to that barren earthiness I am getting from it.

YUM. In the bottle: Beth perfectly nailed that sweet, minty, slightly vanilla candy cane scent perfectly. This is positively AMAZING! Wet: So terribly hard to resist nibbling on my wrist... this is utterly perfect in every way. Dry (about an hour after application): it has faded a bit, mellowed out more and is still divine (I barely put a drop on, I am sure it would still be stronger if I'd put as much as I normally do on). This is such a perfect scent. I think I may need to get at least one more bottle before it's gone.

Oh. My. God. That is so awesome!!! I can't wait to see the others... though since mine are in transit maybe I'll be able to wait a few more days. I hope. Though if someone happend to have photos of any of the other Yule LE's I'd totally love to see them now.

I don't really get the buttery aspect that others have from Snowblind, but it is a positively creamy, light vanilla mint. Whilt is feels slightly chilly on, it is very smooth as opposed to being a crisp and harsh mint. It is positively yummy and I so terribly hope I end up getting a bottle of this with the Naughty and Nice Inquisition because I can see myself wearing this frequently.

Since I am going to be a gypsy instead of a witch (couldn't decide what to wear with my bondage witch hat!), I shall be wearing Gypsy Queen. Beth, I totally want to see photos of you with the butchered CPK, ok?

I'll toss in a recommendation for Safari. It was almost pure Lavender in the bottle and wet to me, and the dry down reminded me very much of my MeadowSweet soap.

Wow. I was totally expecting something dark and clovey and musky and expected this to totally hate me, but it is sweet and playful and boozy but not in the sense I expected it to be. Drying down a bit of the clove is peeking out, but it's not very dominant at all. I'm almost sad that I never did get a bottle of this beautiful scent, but I will certainly cherish the imps I have of it.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?
blackrayne replied to Nadirah's topic in Recommendations
Tarot: The Empress is all rose on me. And Rose Red is too... it's like a flower store that accidently got three truckloads of roses in when they ordered only one, and they have no room for them all so there's roses everywhere from floor to ceiling and even flowing out the door. -
QueenFae and I swapped CT2 bottles (my DXLII for her CCCXXXIV). This is a very bright, slightly sweet floral. It's quite light and summery, perfect for the hot weather we've been having. I can't pick out any specific floral notes either, but it's what a bouquet of mixed summery flowers smells like from across the room. It's very lovely, indeed... and while I am normally not much of a flowery person, I can see myself wearing this frequently.

In the bottle: soft, sweet vanilla. Much gentler than the Vanilla Bean single note, akin to a honeyed vanilla as opposed to a straight vanilla. Wet, on skin: Slightly floral undertones mixed in with the sweet vanilla, with a faint hint of what could be a pale amber or musk. Drying down, about 15 minutes after application: Soft and delicate, like a freshly washed fuzzy blanket, still warm from the dryer on a cool night. Overall impressions: Very comforting and soothing... to the point where this may just replace Dragon's Milk as my comfort scent (or at least be a very close second to it).

Chaos Theory 2, DXXIX (529) In the bottle: sweet, slightly fruity, more sugary with a hint of mint. Wet, on skin: still sweetly fruity, but minty too... not peppermint, I am thinking possibly spearmint, but it's too faint to tell. Drying down, about 15 minutes later: something a bit powdery is coming out slowly. So far still mostly sweet, with a distinct spearmint edge to it. Overall thoughts: I am normally more of a peppermint person, but this has a lovely crispness and coolness to it. I think it will be great for super-hot days, and I may try it again later as the heat index here is supposed to be around 105°F.

I only ordered two SiA scents (Miskatonic U. and Cthulhu), and both were for Chris, but I am keeping Miskatonic U. for myself. In the bottle: almost sickly sweet syrupy Irish creme scent. Wet, on skin: the coffee comes out a bit, and mellows out the Irish creme beautifully. I used to drink coffee with Baileys in it every morning (eh... I was a lush, ok? ), and this is exactly how it smelled. Drying down, about 15 minutes: The dustiness of the old books is making an appearance now... as if I'd stopped in a used book store in the morning on my way to work, back when I was drinking my coffee and Baileys. Overall thoughts: I this one! I think it'll be perfect for the fall when the weather is crisp and cool, on those days when I crave my long since abandoned coffee and Baileys.

Chaos Theory 2 DXLII (542) In the bottle: slightly sweet, creamy, almost reminiscent of far off gummi sharks when the odd marshmallowy stuff on the bottoms. Wet: still sweet and creamy, but with something dark and woodsy mixed in. Someone went on a hike in the woods and dropped their gummy sharks in a patch of recently dug up by a wild animal earth. Drying down, about 15 minutes after application: the gummy sharks are being trampled on, buried in the loose earth, crushed under twigs and assorted wildflowers that haven't yet bloomed. Drying down, about 30 minutes after application: the wildflowers have bloomed, overtaking everything else. They are very faint, almost just a lingering scent memory from the walk in the woods. I don't know if it's something in this bottle, but I felt fine when I applied it, and have since returned to the nauseous, queasy, killer sinus headachey state I was in yesterday. I think I will try this again in a week or so to see if I get the same reaction. If so, it'll be getting swapped because I am not fond of random sinus headaches spurred on my my perfume. I shall review my second CT2 at a later time.

Yay for new imps! In the vial: violet, a hint of rose, and muguet (more commonly known to me as Lily of the Valley). Wet: violet. But softer. I have a horrid sinus headache right now, which is being made worse by screaming kids, so it's hard to concentrate on this one... it's beautiful. But I need to try it again and review it properly when my head isn't throbbing and kids aren't getting mad at each other. Hopefully I will be able to edit this soon with a better review.

So far on me Snake Oil, O, New Orleans and Queen Mab are the longest lasting on me. As in... more than 12-13 hours later, they still smell positively yummy.

You essentially should get an email (with the subject line "Black phoenix paypal payment received") to your PayPal email address... sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't, it's an autoresponce basically stating that your order was received by the lab. If you don't get one, don't panic, though, because it doesn't always send it (I get them usually 3 times out of 4).

Andra... I am glad to hear of the success that two people had with having babies. My best friend has been trying to become pregnant for at least 5 years now... her and her husband have gone through tons of testing, treatments and still, they continue to fail in the baby making department. They just recently started proceedings for adopting a baby, as they don't think that in vitro would work for them at this point. I personally am very sympathetic to their situation, especially since I have two wonderful children of my own... knowing that someone is not capable of having a baby when they truly want one and would be an amazing parent is very sad. Oro, I hope you are able to conceive, and have a perfectly healthy baby.

In the bottle I get pure smooth, creamy white chocolate. As soon as it's on my skin, the tangerine totally blossoms. It's simply amazing how it does that. While drying down, it morphs still more, and on me ends up being a light flowery, slightly powdery, slightly fruity blend, which is positively amazing. However... I really think there's some pale amber or musk in this because within 15-30 minutes, I have the most amazing sinus headache of doom. I shall be keeping the one bottle, and experimenting with it (in an oil burner, in a car sachet, etc.), trying to find a way to enjoy this scent without the terrible pain it inflicts on me when it dries... but I don't think it will get much love since I rather prefer my head not to be a pounding, throbbing mess.
