wet: this is a very light scent. Has a masculine, 'boy deodorant' kind of smell. Very clean, second skin, just jumped out of the shower with yummy 'boy soap' kind of smell. Reminds me of a comforting man. How a daddy or uncle would smell like when you're a little kid and he gathers you up in his arms after skinning your knee. I really really like this. It is a very comforting, calming scent.

Very light. Almost too light.. I can smell the Vetiver.. and mint.. I can smell some kind of wood, but its not exactly cedar. To me it smells like a freshly sharpened pencil. As it dries I can faintly smell more florals, and it does get prettier, but it is way too faint to really tell what they are.

Oh, Fire Pig is LOVELY! I can smell a lot of fruity notes. Orange, peach, lychee, melon. But as the oil dries, it turns a bit more floral. Perhaps the plum blossom? Oh I LOVE IT! It is very uplifting! Definitely a keeper!

I was disappointed in Pumpkin Queen. I don't know what it is about BPAL's Pumpkin note, but it really DOES NOT work for me.
-
Punkie Night is an AWESOME apple! I haven't tried a BPAL yet that comes close to it.

wet: very tart, sweet and lemony. I can smell the ginger, and it isn't TOO overpowering. Very clean scent dry: as it dries, the tartness goes away and the scent gets warmer and sweeter. I can't REALLY smell the cut grass yet. As it dries even more it gets spicier, the ginger comes out as the lemon fades. Not my sort of thing but I didn't think it was too bad!

wet: Wow, this smells just like Blood Moon! Very dry, powdery, like Cinnamon dry: sweeter, milder, like apple and cinnamon tea. I love it!
-
Like a buttermint... A very light, minty watery scent. doesn't seem to deepen much while wet. While dry it is very incense-ey and fruity. Jasmine and resin-ey, sweet.
-
Very sweet! Smells like apples, but in a candy sort of way. Fruity but with an icy edge? (I don't know what that could be... it reminds me of those 'icy' starbursts that have an 'icy' or 'frozen' flavor. weird, but cool. I love shadow witch orchid and this reminds me of it. definitely getting myself some of this! 4/5

All clean, fresh lemon. Smells like a mildly strong lemon detergent. Not the usual 'bad' lemon I get from most lemon BPAL scents (like a cough drop menthol lemon.. yech). There is a sweetness and mildness to it that I can't quite place. Maybe the tea and milk? 2.5/5

Juicy spiced plum! Very sweet and fruity. Dries to a sweet spicy cinnamon-like carnation. The cinnamon reminds me of red hots candies. Definitely a keeper! Who knew something so sinister could smell so yummy! 4/5

I got a sniffie of this from a VERY nice and generous forum member. There is just enough inside the vial for 2-3 tests. In the vial it's a very strong cake-ey sugary smell, much like Underbed and Closet. Not something particularly unique or special. I still eagerly put some on my wrist. Wet, it reminded me a lot of Enraged Bunny Musk, which I didn't much like, but with an added sugaryness. It was pretty disappointing and rather confusing because so many people on here rave about it and to me it was just like.. 'eh?' like 'what's so special?' I put the vial away and got distracted with another activity. Then I absent-mindedly sniffed my wrist again (a self confessed habit I've had ever since I started sniffing BPAL)....AND.... HALLELUJAH! Oh my LORD. Everything that was 'eh' became.. 'OMG!' Now there are quite a few foody BPAL scents that are just too sickly sweet for me (much like a really good cake with WAY too much sugary frosting that you have to scrape off). Underpants (when dry) is the sweetest BPAL I've tried that does not become sickly sweet. Not only this, but oh my god it is so yummy. It is hard to explain why exactly I like it so much. It is a second skin sort of scent. It reminds me of the sweet 'me' smell that bedding and pillows have after the laundry detergent and fabric softner smells go away. It reminds me of my teddy bear that I would sleep with every single night for ten years (yeah she was never washed ) and most of the reason why I couldn't sleep without her was because the smell just lulled me to sleep. It does smell like creamy frosting, but more like creamy frosting that has been licked off your fingers and has left a sweet smell on your skin. I really can't explain it any better than that! I was actually kind of glad in my at first disappointment in this scent because I knew how hard it would be to find really ANY of this scent (I once saw it on ebay at a buy it now price of 200 dollars for one decant. ) But now that I have found how I adore it, I'm quite depressed.

VERY dark and murky. musky. I'm not sure I can handle much of this without a headache. reminds me a bit of cheap drugstore cologne from the early 90's. But it also smells almost like depression, stagnation.

The lavender hit me at once. Now I can smell those dreadful violets... and they are almost as strong as the lavender. despite my hatred for violets I must say how perfect they blend with lavender. I couldn't detect the vetiver, which I know is a pretty strong, bitter note. The scent didn't smell murdeous to me, but it is definitely masculine and reminds me of the sea.
-
When wet, it is VERY STRONG, and smells very much like Follow Me Boy (which sometimes gives me a headache) smells like jasmine and baby powder, and nothing like the orchids I am used to (like Shadow Witch Orchid). However, after it dries down there is a lovely vanilla (it was disguised as jasmine! it was SOMEHOW really vanilla!)
-
When wet it is very herbally, minty. Very green smelling. It reminds me a bit of Envy with its smell of fresh green cut grass and of mint. Sweet though, as I can smell the florals through it as if the green smells were a fence or a screen. A lot of notes I can't quite place, but it definitely smells like a late spring/early summer scent. ETA: definitely more floral as it dries.

GRAPES. Smells just like grape bubblegum, which is not a bad thing but it also means it smells artificial. Myrrh or frankincense, patchouli? musk of some sort. hard to detect what is beyond that. It is very calming even though the scent is strong. I could totally see how it can describe the setting sun. The grape remindsme of this weird air freshener my grandmother has. I'm not sure whether I like this or not.

Wow. Nag champa and lavender! I love Nag champa with a passion and I let out a huge squee when I first sniffed this in my imp. Wow, I never knew that Nag Champa and lavender could blend together and compliment each other so wonderfully! The nag champa is most noticeable in the vial, wet on skin it is mostly lavender, dry on skin it is mostly nag champa! Oh, my love! Another to add to my 5ml wishlist. I'm also going to have to make room on my top 10!

A BEAUTIFUL, bright sweet peach! Smells just like Bath and Body Works discontinued scent Peach Nectar. I LOVE this. The ambers are non-existant on me, either that or they blend in/emphasize the peach perfectly. I also can't detect the musk, but it may be also emphasizing the peach. I don't know what myrtle smells like, but I *maybe* can detect a hint of floral behind the peach? (it may be just because I WANT to smell the floral ) I love this scent so much. I am definitely buying a 5ml.

AGLAEA: Three golden ambers, bright musk, peach wine and myrtle. I am definitely buying a 5ml. BLUEBEARD: A scent swirling with dark rage, unbridled jealousy, and murderous intent. Violet, lavender, white musk and vetiver. GAUEKO: The Basque God of Night and all the perils of the darkness. Though he is the God of the Danger that Lurks in the Gloom, he is kind to men and warns them against the nighttime hazards and sets rules of conduct for both the living and the dead as they travel through his domain. It is said that since the warm, vibrant daylight is for the living, the abodes of night are reserved for the dead. All who heed his counsel are protected, but woe be to any man that disobeys the laws of Gaueko: he is swift to punish those that would scorn his advice. Blackened sandalwood and misty lavender, with curling wisps of smoky tobacco, nag champa, and labdanum. Wow. Nag champa and lavender! I love Nag champa with a passion and I let out a huge squee when I first sniffed this in my imp. Wow, I never knew that Nag Champa and lavender could blend together and compliment each other so wonderfully! I'm also going to have to make room on my top 10! REGAN A deceptively sweet orchid vanille with a faint trace of stephanotis. When wet, it is VERY STRONG, and smells very much like Follow Me Boy (which sometimes gives me a headache) smells like jasmine and baby powder, and nothing like the orchids I am used to (like Shadow Witch Orchid). However, after it dries down there is a lovely vanilla (it was disguised as jasmine! it was SOMEHOW really vanilla!) SLOTH VERY dark and murky. musky. LIBER RESH VEL HELIOS: TUM Hail unto Thee who art Tum in Thy setting, even unto Thee who art Tum in Thy joy, who travellest over the Heavens in Thy bark at the Down-going of the Sun. Tahuti standeth in His splendour at the prow, and Ra-Hoor abideth at the helm. Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Day! UTRENNYAYA The Morning Star Osmanthus, Damascus rose, violet, delphinium, white mint, palmarosa and white sandalwood. WINNERS OF THIS REVIEW: Gaueko and Aglaea!

when dry on skin: I definitely can smell the cotton blossom, which I don't usually mix well with. I can't really smell the White Musk, which pretty much the whole reason why I was looking forward to this blend so much. All I smell is LEMON. Not fresh, clean, good lemon, but sticky sweet tea-like lemon. and THAT kind lemon and I hate each other. I don't get why some of you think White Musk smells like lemon? Maybe I just overlooked (or smelled?) it, but I never noticed any sort of White Musk smelling so. I don't understand where the lemon is coming from! I'm sorry bunny, but you're not for me...

'05 version on me it was a very powdery, old lady-ish rose mixed with some incense (myrhh or frankincense). the rose was so bad it smelled like citronella. from reading all the reviews of the '04 version being buttery and like chocolate, i'm anxious to try that version. but this version is going to my swap pile.

VERY aquatic. gentle, fruity, clean. A fruity feminine version of House of Mirrors! I am won! It is much gentler than HoM. It is hard for me to tell between the lily and the aloe? my favorite Maelstrom thus far!

This reminds me of Buck Moon. a LOT. It has the same sort of fresh barley smell to it that buck moon does. NOt only that but it smells like a Lunacy Blend in general. it has that 'moon' smell to it. but I suppose it is fitting since it is supposed to be a 'night's' pavillion. I can smell violets. violets+me=something not good. but I also dislike it for the same reasons why I disliked buck moon. so yeah, not for me. but if you liked buck moon and/or like violets this is for you!

I smell red wine. But in a sickly sweet way. Strong, old lady rose. But it isn't THAT bad, really. Actually, there is a innocent sweetness to it that I can't exactly place, that counters all the stuff I didn't like. but unfortunately, its not me.
