VIRGO 2007 Mutable earth: the essence of analysis. Fennel, valerian, maidenhair fern, carrot seed, honeysuckle, and myrtle. let's see if I can do a proper Virgoan analysis of this. wet, on the skin, it is mildly sharp and herbal, with mossy-ness and a bit of earth. Smells a bit like sticking your head into a forest wildflower patch! Kind of comparable to Zombi, except with not much rose and more wildflowers/herbs. I'm not too keen on recognizing things like the valerian, maidenhair fern and carrotseed, but I can assume those are what is contributing to the herbalness, and the honeysuckle and myrtle is what sweetens it up! dry on skin retains its floral sweetness, not much sharp herbal anymore, still mildly earthy but fairly light. Throw is not overpowering at all! Very pretty scent, I'm usually not a fan of florals that aren't mainly rose, but this one I might actually wear now and then!

1. I wonder what a potential witchee would think about being bombarded with PUMPKINS in various formats. Because my current obsession just may last long enough to be of use in spoiling.....but I know wouldn't be appreciated by everyone. Would you appreciate it?!? I like pumpkin stuff! As for food though, please don't send too much, the hubby and I are trying to watch our eating. We would love small amounts of things though. I am one of those BPAL-ers that can't do much with BPAL's pumpkin note though (the fake buttery popcorn problem). However, I have had very good luck with Blue Pumpkin Floss (the prototype V3) and BPTP Marshmallow Pumpkin 2. I currently have a CSA and my significant other is perpetually out of town for work, so I've been doing a lot of canning and baking with my vegetables. How do people feel about canned good (pickles, salsa, etc) and vegetal baked goods (squash bread, zucchini bread). Not so much with pickled goods/breads, but I'd love some sugar free jams. 3. Trading Post wants? Implacable Beautiful Tyrant Hair Gloss! I tried a decant of it a while back and fell HARD for the scent. I haven't gotten a full size bottle yet! I have friends that are so obsessed with Dr. Who that it has completely turned me off from ever watching it. To me it is not unique anymore when there are rabid fans that spend thousands of dollars they can't afford on a show's related paraphernalia, must quote Dr. Who daily, regardless if anyone around them gets the reference, and refuse to watch anything else. I'm sorry to those on here that are fans, I just hate those that get so obsessed with things that it interferes with normal life. For instance, I really loved watching Battlestar Gallactica, but I don't feel the need to plaster its logo all over me and quote it constantly. /rant 15. I just want to say first off that I am so excited to be playing this again! Thank you to my dear Witch for scoping me out. I always feel a bit weird asking for things, so I will just post things I really like! I absolutely love Yankee Candle's Sugared Apple! Bordering on obsession actually. The problem is that it has been 'discontinued' but whenever I ask about it in stores, there is always a small supply on the "throwback" shelf, and there is always a bunch at the factory in MA. I'm not sure why they say it's discontinued when they still technically produce it. Anyway I am down to my last jar, and there's less than half left so I would shriek with joy to be gifted with ANYTHING Sugared Apple. seriously. That was the only thing I could think of for now, but I am sure I will think of more later!

Unfortunately, all I can smell is Frankincense. Even after the dry-down, even as it fades from my skin. And the frankincense is overpowering. I have hope for this though because it seems like other people are experiencing the other notes. I'm going to let this sit for a few weeks, and hopefully update this!

9/19/10 Do you read/like fantasy? What kind of books or authors do you love? Which one would you like to read? Would you like gifts related to it? I love Neil Gaiman, I am trying to collect all of his children's books (I have none yet). I'm a bit picky about my fantasy/sci fi. I play Dungeons and Dragons, but I find the themed books rather boring. I like it when real life characters are thrust into fantasy worlds and learn about themselves through their experiences. Ugh that sucked! TV Guilty Pleasures: I honestly don't feel guilty about anything I watch. Most mainstream American TV I honestly don't like, especially reality TV and a lot of popular shows like True Blood and whatnot. It just doesn't appeal to me, all the actors look the same, the storylines seem all the same, nothing seems original to me anymore. I find most originality in comedy like Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Tim and Eric Awesome Show and most History documentaries / geeky science or nature shows. HOWEVER, if you think there is a show that I would really really like, by all means try me. I did like the Tin Man series on Sci Fi, and I like Dexter, and I am REALLY into anime. I'm hoping that someone can recommend me a very good anime because I am almost done with the series Blood + and I do all my knitting while watching so I need recommendations! Cosplay/Costumes: eh not really. I never got the point of cosplay, in fact it really turns me off. I am however trying to think of a really cool Halloween costume for this year. E-books: I prefer real books. Its a psychological thing. I feel like if I read a book electronically, I'm not really reading it haha. That and a computer screen tends to give me eye strain if I try to read for too long. Scented Tarts: scented tarts are cool. I have a tart warmer, but honestly I prefer votive candles because they are easier to use and the cats are less likely to knock over a ton of melted wax. Body Mods: nostril (may be getting a septum with a small subtle ring at some point, even though my bf is totally against the idea ), I have one tattoo but hope to get another one for my birthday on the 14th this month, I have lots of ear piercings and I really need more captive rings in a 18 or 16g, size 5/16ths, and I have stretched lobes in a 4g, currently deciding whether or not to keep them though at this point. I'd like to get more piercings someday. Lip balms: I love lip balms, but I really don't use any unless they are organic. I hate MyLipStuff balms (sorry guys) because they are way too liquidy, they melt easily and I usually just feel like I have flavored oil on my lips There is one exception to the organic lip balm rule, and that is Rosebud Salve's Strawberry lip balm from Sephora. Aside from all that I think what I would like most is to go back to my Native roots and live amongst the Abenakis in Vermont, before the French missionaries and Englishman drove them away and into Quebec. I would be interested in trying a really good sugar free brand of apple cider (I've heard they exist!) and cocoa MISC: Someone mentioned that their relative would love random household items, and I have to say, my boyfriend and I will be moving in to our first place within 6 months, so we will definitely need random household stuff like spatulas, cooking spices, wooden spoons, that sort of thing.

I can't come to a decision on whether I like the released version of Blue Pumpkin Floss. I tried the prototype and it was amazing, so I was excited to buy a bottle of the released version. The prototype is much more like cotton candy, more blackberry, with a slight hint of pure pumpkin (not buttery) and pumpkin type spices. The released version is very complex, much more spicy and very buttery, with only a hint of the cotton candy sugary-ness and I can't detect any hint of blackberry. When I tested the released Blue Pumpkin Floss I got such a strange smell from it at times (since the scent changes alot) and after about an hour of trying to think of what it reminded me of, I realized that it smells like chicken broth bullion cubes. No lie. I don't know how that happened?? Only at times though, because at other times, the pumpkin spices and the buttery pumpkin came through, and very slightly, the cotton candy. Unfortunately, I think I will have to stick with the prototype version of Blue Pumpkin Floss (if I can find it!). Maybe it is just my skin chemistry, but I really don't want to smell like a chicken broth bullion cube I will test it one more time before I decide to swap my bottle or anything.

Boo 2010 is AWESOME. I can't compare it to last years because I have not tested that one. While wet, the milky note is more apparent, but the sugar sweetness is just perfect. Normally I don't much like "milk" notes because it makes me smell like I poured milk all over myself or something, but this is evenly balanced with the sugar sweetness. It reminds me very much of those Japanese milk chew candies called White Rabbits, I am even reminded of the rice paper film covering! I can't really detect any 'cotton' notes, but it might just be too subtle for my anti-analytical nose! When dry it reminds me more of Snow White, but more confectionary and less floral. This is my favorite so far of the 2010 Halloweenies (though I haven't tried much yet!)

So, I was generously gifted a testable sniffie of this by a forumite and when I smelled it in the vial, I said to myself: "Phew! it's really strong patchouli, I don't have to worry about falling in love." But then I put it on. Firstly, I don't hate patchouli, I like it actually, just not when it is very strong and usually not as a single note. This was semi-strong patchouli on my skin, but it did something really remarkable as it dried, and I kept sniffing my wrist because it was so cool. As I sniffed, I would instantly smell patchouli, but then as I took my nose away and inhaled normally (breathing), I kept smelling this orange creamsicle sort of scent! As if the patchouli notes left my nose and left behind that orange vanilla in my nose! It was so cool. Then after a while (maybe 1/2 an hour), on my skin, the patchouli started to meld with the orange creamsicle scent. Then after another 1/2 an hour, it was JUST the orange creamsicle scent. And it smelled so familiar to me, outside of the orange creamsicle reference, and finally I realized that it smelled exactly like Cocoa Pink's the Un-red fragrance, just richer and with patchouli. So this is the first time I have tested a sought after rare and fell in love. And I just don't fall in love with anything. This is an automatic top ten LE. I guess there is a first time for everything? I need a bottle now, but I'm not sure how exactly I will manage to get one!

I'm not sure if this helps, but I use Yvaine or TKO for a bedtime scent because of their lavender notes. TKO has vanilla, but it is very lavender as well.

This is the perfect patchouli on me, even though patchouli isn't listed as a note. It reminds me of a cologne my uncle always wears: clean, elegant, masculine, musky. I put the TINIEST drop on my wrist to test it, knowing it would be strong. I love this one and will definitely wear it!
