    High-Strung Daisies

Uncomplicated cute floral. A mischievous daisy plays peekaboo and then dips out. This is almost all peppery pink carnation, and yes, it's slightly bubblegummy. I'll keep my imp, but don't find it necessary to upgrade because I have Teenagering to fulfill my sweet carnation needs.

    Blackcurrant Sufganiyot

This actually smells more like lingonberry preserves to me than black currant. More tart than Raspberry Suf, but still quite sweet. I haven't been able to smell much pastry from any of the Sufganiyots, but this the only one that goes temporarily plasticky.

    Invisible Man Milk

I've spent so much time trying to figure out how to describe this. There is something clinical about it to my nose, like a powdered medical glove filled with sweetened condensed milk. Or maybe the glove-flavored candy from Glove World. Much sweeter than I expected, with a strong clean musk.

    Raspberry Sufganiyot

If Blueberry Sufganiyot is blurple, then Raspberry Sufganiyot is a bright magenta. Sweet and tart glossy raspberry gloop, it's sooo good. It reminds me of the raspberry Jell-O salad my mom has made every Thanksgiving as far back as I can remember (yes, I am from the upper midwest, haha). There is a smidge more pastry than Blueberry Suf, and a similar powdered sugar drydown. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the same staying power on me. Even so, I think this is my favorite fruit Sufganiyot. For what it's worth, I find Golletes sweeter and more strawberry-ish.

    Blueberry Sufganiyot

This is most certainly a BLURPLE scent, an artificial but enjoyable grapey blueberry jelly, and it is on steroids. Definitely the strongest Sufganiyot of the ones I've tried (Raspberry, Blackcurrant, Snake Oil, Dorian). Blueberry Sufganiyot is light on the pastry, as others have noted, and dries down to a realistic powdered sugar with a hint of blueberry goo.

    A Boy and His Zombie

I never can resist a perfume with marshmallow listed in the notes. I included this in my Weenie decant order, even though I knew the marshmallow wouldn't be as loud as the lime and cherry. I wasn't wrong, those fruit candies are poppin'. Because the cherry and lime are so fragrant, this reminds me of hard candy in its liquid state, still boiling. Oops! Some lime was mistakenly added to the cherry pot, but hey, that smells reaaaally nice. It takes a while for the marshmallow to emerge, but it's a true marshmallow in all its creamy saccharine glory. Candy scents don't usually have much lasting power on my skin, but this one surprised me by lingering from afternoon to late evening. It packs a wallop!

    How Doth the Little Crocodile

Warning: this might make you hungry. I wore it the other evening, and got up in the middle of the night to eat a mint chocolate chip Klondike Bar. This is not a nose-tingling mint scent. The pistachio is actually the strongest note on me initially, supported by creamy chocolate mint, and the cedar gains power over time. At its peak, the cedar ventures into pencil territory, but only briefly. I love me some oakmoss, but it's buried deeply here (it did greet me the morning after, all by its lonesome). I really dig this cedary gourmand, possibly even more than Tombstone. I'll definitely keep my imp, but will need to make sure I've had a full meal before slathering!
  8. I'm probably insane, but Uruk smells SO MUCH like Keep It Fluffy on my skin. I can't even explain it. Like the Very Gods reminds me of The Olive Branch.

    In Silvery Accents, Whispering Low

Ugh, I love this. It somehow feels like being enveloped in a rich dark chocolate hug without being a chocolate scent at all, there's a kind of thickness to it. The spices are Morocco-like, but I wouldn't say this really reminds me of Morocco overall. The spicy coffee bean hits first, then the myrrh smoke, and finally the fir. One of the most well-behaved evergreens I've encountered, it lingers in the background and I have to inhale deeply to get the whole tree. A northern comfort.

    Incolumitas

I really, really wish this was available in a 5 ml and/or atmosphere spray. I love it so much, and think of it as my bedtime Banshee Beat. Take BB's vanilla patch (turned down from an 11 to a 4), add a strong spa-like lavender and a smattering of sage, and you've got Incolumitas. Gorgeous, relaxing, hoard-worthy.

    Snake Oil Sufganiyot

An extra musky, powdered sugar Snake Oil. I'm not getting any pastry (or fruit, like some others) and it does wear closer to the skin than most other Snake Oil blends I've tested. I like it, but I prefer Please Scream Inside Your Snake Oil since it has a noticeable pastry aspect and much stronger throw.

    The Caterpillar

Incense smoke snaking around languorous late summer blooms. Spicy carnation and bitter neroli are the primary flowers on my skin, but I do get a little jasmine, as well. I really enjoy The Caterpillar because it makes me feel mystical and contemplative, the only thing keeping it from perfection status is the prominence of the neroli.

    The Dodo

I suppose being so unusual is fitting for the Mad Tea Party collection, but... all this reminds me of, and I'm so sorry, is chewing Big Red gum while sipping on an overly syrupy mango cocktail. The woods save it a little as it dries, but it's too sweet and fruity for my liking (and I don't want to smell like anything even remotely similar to a mixed drink).

    Wicked

This is a haughty floral if I've ever smelled one. The jasmine is just barely stronger than the rose on my skin, but they are both wailers. Dries down to a slightly soapy rosy myrrh.

    The Lights of Men's Lives

This reminds me of those natural beeswax candles with the honeycomb pattern. Sweet, honey-forward beeswax, slightly vanillic. This is not a smoky scent, and doesn't do much morphing. I prefer my candlewax with a bit of smoke, but this is still nice -- perhaps I'll use it for layering. Impressive longevity, low to moderate projection.

    Herbert West

Re-Animator is one of my favorite horror films, so I was eager to try this even though Embalming Fluid didn't work out for me. Yup, there's that verbena, green tea, and aloe from Embalming Fluid, accompanied by a light herbal aftershave. The verbena is flat and much quieter than the aloe and green tea, but citrus is notorious for aging poorly. Something goes a bit cucumber-y on my skin. Not really what I thought glowing lime green reagent would smell like, but to be fair, this is an old imp. Drydown is a white musk powder bomb. I would not recommend splurging on a bottle of Herbert West because it doesn't seem to age well. It was fun to try, though!

    Troll

The cumin and basil were overly aggressive at first, but I stuck with it, and I'm glad I did. There may be some troll DNA in my Scandinavian genetic makeup, because this troll musk is sexy as hell. I'm getting a mixture of musk, vetiver, pine pitch, and light spices that I just want to rub my face in. Woodsy, musky, feral. I agree with the previous reviewer that Troll is not a green scent.

    Candles Moon

This does smell like a finely crafted artisan candle, and it has a long burn time. The beeswax is seriously a trooper. While the scent is wet, I get burst of piney winter breeze, but somebody promptly shuts the window and lights that blackberry scented candle. A perfect snowy evening to curl up with a book and a mug of warm milk. The blackberry is the fresh, tart kind that I enjoy the most. This decant is a keeper!

    Tweedledum

The mango note smells the same way biting into a slightly green banana tastes, but it mostly fades upon drydown and fig becomes the dominant fruit. Reminds me of patchouli + iced green tea with fruit jellies. It's very faint, though.

    Oblivion

Oblivion smells like a genie disguised as a human, or maybe a pirate giving up his dastardly ways and rejoining society. Leans mainstream men's fragrance with a poorly concealed darkness beneath. An intensely musky spiced woods scent that packs a powerful punch. STRONG. My husband said it reminded him of Spyro the Dragon and would not elaborate.

    Burial

I'm just now going through my dragon hoard of imps and decants to (re)test and review, this particular imp is very aged. Burial is a mostly woods on me without much greenery, I'm getting patchouli, cedar, and dirt with something rotting underneath. A little bit of camphorous juniper during the wet stage, but it was fleeting. No noticeable florals. Overall, Burial is an atmospheric gravedigger fragrance, complete with perspiring man smell. Or, perhaps, the scent of being buried alive. Extremely long lasting, moderate projection.

    Apple Sugar

This is like biting into a crunchy, tart, pink apple. The sugar strengthens as it dries down, but the dial is turned up a bit high for my liking (it's not unusual for my skin to amp sugar to high heaven). Almost a Smutty type of sugar. I compared Apple Sugar to Sugar-Slathered Candied Apple just for funsies, and the latter is significantly sweeter. The sugar there is more rich and caramelly, and the apple variety is not tart, it reminds me more of a Red Delicious. Lighthearted fairy apples.

    Darkness

I wasn't sure about narcissus, but this experience has confirmed that it's not the flower for me. Almost leathery, but also sweet and fruity. The opium is pretty, but ultimately quashed by the narcissistic narcissus. Myrrh was on the back burner throughout wear. Good sillage and longevity.

    Cicuta

Dusty, crumbling roses in a similarly crumbling castle. How are these candles still burning? (Computer, load CountOrlokintheDoorway.gif) This is the same dried rose note that works so beautifully on me in Zombi, it'll be nice to have options when I'm not feeling the dirt. The candle smoke becomes more noticeable the longer I have this on my skin, along with the wax drippings of long neglected candles. I've heard saffron can smell honeyed, so maybe my brain is translating that as candlewax. Either way, this is gorgeous, and I love how gothic it is.

    Pele

Blind sniff: Pele smells like gardenia (possibly tiare) and tuberose. A quiet floral. Okay, reading the notes, I have no idea what white ginger flower is supposed to smell like, but I'll bet that's the gardenia I'm picking out. This would be a good floral to wear in the summer heat because it's not heavy at all. Pretty, yet ephemeral, like the flowers on a lei.
