Sugar-Slathered Candied Apple
PumpkinGuts replied to UberClaire's topic in Black Phoenix Trading Post
Red apple and LOTS of caramel. In fact, all I can smell on the drydown is sugary caramel. It's yummy, but I wish the apple lasted longer! This is richer and less sweet than Candy Corn Coated Caramel Apple. -
At first, it's all white tea and violet leaf, crisp and ladylike. Then my skin does something terrible with it and morphs it into something unrecognizable -- something I can only describe as soapy florals and rank body odor (is that you, crypt dust?). Not for me.

Atlas is overwhelmingly sweet, dusty oak on me. OAK(!!!) and a vanilla latte with marshmallows. It smells like Oak Moon went on a coffee date with Brood XIX. This is a fuzzy, brown moth.

The mango is more noticeable than the pumpkin, and the allspice dominates (as usual). I can smell just a hint of coconut sugar. I was hoping for more that and the creamy milk. It's yummy, just spicier than I was hoping.

2012: Ooh, I love this. Once it gets past its initial stage of sweet, white florals, I can smell incense smoke and sweetbread. It's warm, dry, and a little dusty. Something about it reminds me of Halloween: Las Vegas, one of my favorite scents. I'm so relieved I didn't get stinky funeral flowers out of this, like some other reviewers had. I think I need a bottle...

This one's very unusual. It's definitely medicinal-smelling. Tea tree, I think? I'm not sure why, but the way it reacts with my skin turns it a little bit floral. All I can think about is citronella candle.

I wish the vanilla cream was stronger! I get grapefruit and lemon with mint, and it's a bit soapy. Reminds me of Zest soap. I prefer Pink Snowballs to this.
-
I love apples, I love cheesecake. This is creamy and delicious, and just what I was hoping for. Cinnamon is present, but not overly aggressive. My favorite Beaver Moon to date!

Almond milk and... soap. My skin hates this. Ah well, can't win 'em all.

This is, indeed, a morpher. It's not gingerbread dominant, which is what I expected. I mostly get chocolate, a little bit of gingerbread, spice drops, and red licorice. After it sits on my skin for a while, it gets a little bubblegummy. I had fun with it.

Soft, powdery rose. I don't notice the snow note. It's an innocent kind of smell, and quite pretty. Just not "me".

Affectionately nicknamed 'The Devil's Bake Sale'. Sugar Cookie 2011:This is heavily spiced (lots of nutmeg, some cinnamon) sugar cookie dough, and a little bit boozy. Someone was drinking in the kitchen! Not what I was expecting, but I kind of like it in a weird sort of way.

This is some damn good Mexican hot chocolate. Rich, smooth, just-enough-spicy. I normally amp cinnamon, but this is really well balanced. Love it.

I love this, at first. It's all juicy pear Jelly Belly but fades to a generic vanilla smell that reminds me of deodorant spray. I had been wondering how it would compare to The Vine, and it looks like that's what I'll be continuing to grab for my pear fix.

Fizzy gingerale with a little bit of pumpkin spice. I like it, but I'm very seasonal with the scents I wear and this seems almost too summery with the predominant gingerale note.

I smell jammy apricot (does quince smell like apricot?) and dark chocolate, and it is delectable. I just wish this lasted longer than 20 minutes on my skin!

Strong, cherry-flavored hard candy that dries down to a creamy cherry-almond. It doesn't remind me of cereal or jelly beans, but it's definitely very sweet. I much prefer Bloody Mary for my cherry kick, so this is a pass for me.

Beaver'versary: I'm getting spiced cheesecake. Cinnamon and, is that clove? Huh. This one is also very light on my skin, with virtually no throw. My skin noms it. I like it, but wish it was a little stronger because I'm a greedy foodie!

On me, this is spiced orange and bubblegum. It reminds me of gum that I bought at a Sanrio store when I was a kid. I think I will prefer this in the wintertime.

I loved it and thought it smelled like chocolate oranges until my boyfriend told me I smelled like barbecue. Nooo, you ruins it!

In love with, need now: Halloween: Las Vegas The Green Apple of Venus Sonnet D'Automne Considering: The Silver Apple of the Moon The Nymphae Avernales I already have a bottle of Pumpkin Princess and I love it! The tiare overpowered all the other notes when it was brand new, but the pumpkin and vanilla finally came out to play and it's much nicer. Autumn Cider is yummy, but so similar to Punkie Night that buying a bottle would be redundant.

Mother Ginger is ginger ale + marshmallows. Polynesian Pop is brighter and more orangey. Both are fizzy and delicious, though Mama G is more compatible with the cooler weather.

I'll second this, and add candy corn coated candy apple started out really heavy on a sort of popcorn smell on me, but it dried down and went into an appley floral. But the first half hour or so was pretty heavy on that sort of salted buttery corn smell. Agreed. Bread-and-Butter-Fly is tea and butter-doused popcorn to my nose.

Prior to reading the notes, my nose was assaulted by what I thought to be lily with a citrus tang (lemon balm?). Ah, that must have been the orchid, whose smell I'm unfamiliar with. Now that I've learned me some notes, I'm definitely getting a big whiff of the grapefruit. It's dried down to the amber but the citrus is still prevalent, and the grandma-like floral has faded. Warm, mildly perfumey, and sophisticated... and totally not for me. It's a little mature for my tastes (after all, I'm still practically a baby at 22). I'm envisioning a secretary or someone who works in an upscale business office wearing this. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is a more conventional type of perfume.
