If you took a stick of unburned incense and dipped it in vanilla, it would smell exactly like this, which is pretty nice. Wet I could detect strong patchouli and spices and it seemed a little overwhelmingly hippy-ish, but within minutes it mellowed out to give a sweet, warm, sensual, and bohemian vibe. Impressively, I could still smell it after biking to work, pouring coffee for eight hours, and biking home! And I know it's a keeper because I just had to reapply when I got home.

Interesting, and not quite what I expected. I don't get leather or smoke at all, but rather coconut-y tonka and fruity tobacco in equal amounts. It's nice (and I like it loads more than Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, which was pure Christmas potpourri on me) but I'll need to try a few more times before I can really give a verdict.

So far Dorian is my absolute favourite. Sweet but not too sweet, deliciously warm and cozy, and blends so well with my natural skin scent. I mostly get vanilla tea with a background of warm musk, with maybe the tiniest bit of citrus. Very glad to have found this.

Guh. I wanted so badly to like this but... I don't. At all. There's something in this that I hate and I'm guessing it's the patchouli. I got my mom to smell my wrist and she just said "smells like Christmas!" ETA: The smell of this reminded me of something from my childhood and it was driving me insane trying to figure out what the heck it was. It just came to me: Crayola Dirt scented crayon! I asked my sister (a year younger than me) if she remembered the Dirt scented crayon. She gave me a look like I was absolutely insane. I held my wrist out for her to sniff and her eyes went wide. "Uhh... YES. Now I do!"

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
glassdeer replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
Any BPAL scents like Tom Ford's Black Orchid? Notes are black truffle, ylang ylang, bergamot, black currant, black orchid, rich fruit accord, spicy floral accord, lotus wood, patchouli, incense, vetiver, vanilla, balsam, sandalwood. After a bit of thinking, I realized I should add that I don't want a bpal as complex. Just similar to the dirty but beautiful, challenging but sexy, tough yet feminine kind of vibe. My least favorite notes are the "rich fruits".
