Well..it says on the website: "With the exception of our honey-based products, everything that comes from BPAL is vegan.." So I guess that's the case. But since I'm not vegan, I really haven't thought about it much and there might be some synthetic alternative. Not sure though. Edited for spelling -__-

In the bottle: It's sweet. But not in any way cloying or overwhelming. It's careful and snuggly, a bit warm and comforting. I can't really pick out any notes because they are all mingling in there, very well blended! I do want to say I get some orange. Not zest really, more of the sweet meat. And there might be some vanilla.. Can't wait to put this on! On me: Woooooh! Amber and vanilla! I smell like a dollop of amber that has been dipped in liquid vanilla, and then rolled in vanilla sugar! It's now really sweet and almost giving me a headache. When I went out for a walk with my dog, I had to put mittens on, and my mittens are kept in a drawer with Lush's Lady Catrina soap which smells very citrus-y. And the mix with those two were amazing! Like slices of citrus gently powdered with vanilla sugar. It's a good scent for when you're feeling blue or cold, it is warm and glowy! After two hours: It is mellowing down now, I'm getting a teeeny tiny bit honey now, and it is glorious! Three hours later: Oh. My. God. This smells SO good! SOOO GOOD! This smells like Lush's Butterball, Ex Factor or Honey Lumps! It's not strong, I have to press my nose against my arm to really smell it.. But I don't want to ever lift my nose from my skin again! Yummy!! ETA: I wish I would get more orange in this, to take the edge of all the sweetness, but I'm perfectly fine with layering this over some citrus-y soap and just wait for the glorious, yummy finale!

In the bottle: I smell cookies at first. I want to say oatmeal cookies actually. And there is something sweet lying underneath, like marzipan-y. The longer I inhale, the deeper, darker and more liquroice-y it gets! At some point I think it smells a bit like nailpolish remover.. Hopefully I won't notice that on my skin! On me: I just couldn't figure out what it smells like! I knoooow this smell, and had it on the tip of my tongue for a while. Then it came to me: Yankee Candle's Cinnamon & Sugar! ..I think.. Google says that's what it's called , but I want to say Brown Sugar.. I don't get the marzipan or nailpolish remover that I hinted in the bottle, thank goodness. Two hours later: I'm getting more rooibos and liquorice now and less cookies! Yum! Three hours later: Coconut and liquorice with brown sugar with a dusting of rooibos! I really like this scent!

In the imp: Heavy, soapy floral. I definitely pick up rose and perhaps some citrus. On me: Old lady. Heavy and sweet with a lot of roses. There is still some tartness in there, some kind of citrus. One hour later: This one faded really fast on my skin, and I can only smell it if I press my nose to my wrist. Faint citrus & rose. I'm not a floral fan for the most part, but if this had been a bit more citrus and a little less heavy on the rose.. I might have liked it! Migraine: Almost

The grey and ghostly flower that fills the fields of Hades. In the imp: Strong, soapy floral. On me: Soap. Like..Dove soap. It tickles my nose a bit. One hour later: Still soap. Unfortunately I'm not into floral scents. This turned out to smell soap on me, and I must say that soap isn't what I want to smell either. This one is not for me, will be going off to Swaps. Migraine: Almost

In the imp: Sour cinnamon-y scent and some...floral? ..What? Not what I expected it to smell. On me: As soon as this touches my skin it turns dark and smoky. I can smell the rum in this too. Half an hour later: Sour campfire-smoke. This does not work well with my skin-chemistry. Migraine: Almost.

In the imp: This smells like Baba Yaga and The Bow and Crown of Conquest mixed together to me. A bit men's cologne and herby, without the iron/blood that's in Baba Yaga. And something that makes my head scream "no". On Me: I was very surprised that it was all floral on me. I thought it would continue being a herby men's cologne but nope. Very sweet floral, something that reminds me of potpurri and of course a little old lady. It's not a "nice" floral to me, it's sharp and sweet which I do not like. An hour or so later: It has started to fade a tiny bit, but it's still old lady wearing sharp, sweet, floral perfume while she's sitting in a bath of potpurri. I am not a fan :c

Sugar Skull 2007 In the bottle: It's a boozy, slightly sour scent. Something in here reminds me of Glögg (sweet mulled wine) and BPAL's Eat Me. I can feel a headache coming just by sniffing the bottle. On me: It's very raisin-like, dark, dried and sweet. There is also a bit of burnt sugar in this scent. It thought this would be a light scent, but I guess I'm very wrong, haha! The sourness that I picked up from the bottle is still there, and nothing I like. Half an hour later: Still sour, boozy and raisin-like. With a touch of burnt sugar! An hour later: This is not good on me. I've tried to fight the migarine long enough and I need to scrub this off now. I don't like the dark raisin and booze nor the sour note I get from it This one will be up for swap/sale.

Smut 2011 In the bottle: Sweet and chocolate-y with a tiny bit of booze. On me: It starts of with a deep, dark and bitter chocolate scent. There is a fruityness in there if I take a deep inhale, and something "perfumey" as well. This is a very sexy and hungry scent. I described it to a forumite as "you smell like you are a box filled with boozy chocolates but will eat the first person who is within reach", and that is very true. This is a heavy/heady scent that I probably will get a migraine from on the occasional day, but today I'm headache-free. Half an hour later: There is a hint of grounded cinnamon in here. Yum! An hour and a half later: It's a dark scent. Still bitter chocolate and something sweet, but not candy-like nor honey-like.. The deeper I sniff, the smoother and creamier it gets. It's such a good and sexy scent! I went to bed a few hours later and this morning when I woke up I could still smell it. But the bitter chocolate went away and I was left with the sweet, gorgeous scent. When I first tested this one I didn't like it that much. I thought that the boozyness was too strong and heady. But now i love it! It smells like really good sex, and would be great for seduction!

In the bottle: It's very minty, the kind of strong mint that makes your eyes water a bit and then I smell lemon with a faint hint of sweet black liquorice. On me: This one is quite green-ish in the scent. Very bright mint and lemon. It smells exactly like Lush's "Snowdrops"-bath bomb/ballistic. When I went outside in the cold I got more of a "soapy" lemon than a "sharp" lemon. The mint is gone. And where is the liquorice?! I want more of that in here! Hours later: The soapy lemon has stayed with me *sigh*. The mint never returned, which I am very sad about. Overall: I wanted to love this one and thought it would be more sharp mint and liquorice than lemon. I was very wrong and therefor I can't bring myself to love this one

In the imp: Afthershave and dishsoap. It's a very sharp and bright smell. After a while it smells like a plant. On me: This is a cold scent. The aftershave is still there, and this one makes me feel dizzy and sick. After about five minutes I can smell the iron. It's weird! Ten minutes later I get dirt. I smell like iron and dirt, with a hint of aftershave. Euw. After an hour: Hasn't changed a thing since. Still iron, dirt and aftershave. The next day: I was getting ready to go out and take a walk with my dog when I thought to myself "something smells like mold here.. Need to look around when I come back in". Then I realized that it was Baba Yaga that had rubbed off on my shirt. NOOOO! I smell like mold, and something that reminds me of rotten fruit. I do not like this one.

In the imp: Milk chocolate. But it's like a "dry" scent.. Almost cocoa powder. On me: Total yummyness! It's not dry anymore - it's melting! Like when you've forgotten a bar of chocolate out in the sun, and it's just beginning to melt. Divine. I can also smell honey. Not a tooth-aching sweet honey. A thick, warm, raw honey. Hours later: Still melty chocolate with raw honey-drizzle! I this. Big time! Now, I don't know when I would like to smell like this - but I don't care, it is that good!
-
In the imp: I get cake and dishsoap. Nothing more, nothing less. On me: This reminds me of something.. I can't put my finger on it but I have smelled this before! It's very floral with a creamy, coconut vanilla undertone that I want more of! Hour later: This is a fresh floral with cream. A tiny hint of vanilla and powder. It's a floral that I can actually wear without getting a migraine, very happy with this! On the downside it fades very quickly, two hours in I can barely smell it if I press my nose against my wrist.
-
In the imp: Men's cologne and lavender. I also get "green" which must be the sage. On me: Vanilla, leather, lavender and that green - almost grassy- sage again. It actually smells really good! It's nothing I would ever have picked out myself (frimp from the lab). When I move my arm there is something that reminds me of jam, but if I move my arm closer to my nose it disappears! It's quite yummy! Hour later: Nooooooo..! I smell incense and men's cologne. All the goodness above has left me, and I'm stuck with this. It started of good, but I do not like how this one turned around.

In the imp: At first I couldn't tell what this smells like, but after a while it all came to me: Jenka bubblegum (I've heard it's similair to Root Beer) and flowers. My mother said it smells like watermelon and fancy soap to her..! On me: Flowers, honey and a little pepper in the background! After an hour: I think about some really classic lady-perfume. It's floral with honey and a twist! Unfortunately I don't get any of the notes listed on the BPAL-page, which is very sad since cinnamon and clove are two of my favorite notes! I'm not a floral fan, but I do think this one would suit someone who is older than me. An aristocratic lady in her 40s or 60s would totally pull this off! I.. do not. Sadly.

In the imp: The first thing that hits me is strong and bright lemon, and then warm cookies! On me: The lemon disappears quickly, but I still get cookies and now some incense and honey. I can feel immediately that this one will be too overpowering for me and that it will give me a migraine. 40 minutes later: It smells like the incense an alternative store here uses, but it's very, very strong. I have to sit with my arm behind my back, I need to scrub this off. Now. I'm very sad to say that this didn't work on me. My head is spinning and I'm feeling a bit ill, migraine will be here soon.

In the imp: Coconut-sunlotion and sugar! On me: This is a lovely, sweet, creamy coconut! The sunlotion-feeling disappears as soon as this hits my skin! and the milk is not turning sour on me, thankfully! After an hour: Still sweet, but it's more of a dry coconut now instead of a fresh-cut, fleshy coconut. After two hours: Very faint coconut, still dry and not fleshy, and very sweet. I think I loooooove this one and will have to get a big bottle of it, yummy! I applied this one last night, around 8. I could still smell it this morning (even though it is very faint)!

In the imp: Carbonated fizziness! On me: Carbonated citrus fizziness, sweet and very delicious! I would like to drink myself I don't get any kind of strawberries, though.. But I like citrus too! An hour later: A bit less fizzy, but still very sweet and citrus, I love this! I also pick up something that my head and nose would say is stearine. Interesting! Overall I really like this scent. It's sweet but not heady or overwhelming, and I don't get a migraine or even the slightest touch of headache! Bon Vivant is bubbly and fresh, I would say that this will be perfect for spring! I think I might have to order a big bottle of this yummy scent!

In the imp: I am not good at picking out notes, I see colors in my head instead! And this one is a soft yellow! I get soapy floral and old person from it though.. On me: At first it was the same soapy floral as in the imp, but then it turned into an aftershave my grandfather used to use all the time when I was younger. Very strange, but at the same time comforting! An hour later: I still smell like my grandfather! Overall: This one is not for me, I might have to give this to my grandfather, hahah! It's a bit too masculine for my taste. I only applied a drop to my skin, but after two scrubs I can still smell it if I press the nose to my wrist. Did I get a migraine: No! Thankfully!

Please keep in mind that this will be my first review - ever! In the bottle: I smell apples, a lot of candy-ish cherry and cinnamon! Wet: Still getting cherries and the cinnamon is tickling my nose, making me want to sneeze. Suddenly I know that I've smelled this before! Scent melts!! My "Apple orchard" and "Mandarin & clove" melts mixed together! One hour later: It's starting to fade and I'm getting more sweet apples and less cherry. I also pick up dust.. Dusty apples Overall, it wasn't like I had expected. I thought it was going to be a bit more toffee-ish apple cider, but instead I got a sweet, dusty cider! And I do not like cherries : c It's not bad, but unexpected! And the label art is pretty.
