I don't particularly like it myself, but I do think that the description is bang on accurate. It's very detached, otherwordly, aquatic scent. On the edge of madness. Quite fascinating.
-
If the scent detected straight from the vial stayed on my skin unchanged, that would be heaven, because it indeed is, heavenly. However upon the application it does change, for the first 25 min or so it is a nice, strawbery candied scent with a bit of sourness. After that it becomes incensey, it reminds me of Skuld. I wish there wasn't any incense in it, but even with it, it's still interesting and can be quite LOVELY when layered with the L'Engouement bath oil-they go together very very well.
-
The L'Engouement set taught me to never judge a products on the initial sniff. When I first sniffed the oil, I thought it was very buttery smelling, a bit like melted butter with some sugared candies. However, the following morning I used it in the shower and could smell it all day long. It's very soft, comforting, lingering. And layered with the perfume oil, it makes me feel dressed up and ready for the day. I like it and it makes me want to try more bath oils!

Thanks everyone, I'll track down what I can, I've got some ideas at last and I'm happy there is at least one from the GC. Thank you! BTW Hollywood Babylon was quite horrid with my skin chemistry

I've been hunting for a scent which resembles ripe, dark, sweet raspberry boiled with lots of sugar so it turns into an aromatic delicious sweet syrupy goodness. Please help, if you can think of anything. It doesn't have to be BPAL,it can be any brand whatsoever although Bpal recommendations would be hugely aprecciated. By the way raspberry jam scent would be lovely as well as strawberry syrup or strawberry jam. I'm soooooooooooo longing for those scents. share your expertise, forumites, please

Thanks a lot for your prescription, Sharkdiver Funnily enough, Dragon's Milk is something I've been wanting to try for a long time(I will) and I've been always attracted to Mad Tea Party scents, I need to experiment. I'm pretty new to BPAL, although learning very quickly. Therefore I'm not the best person to recommend the oils, simply because I haven't tried that many(maybe 90?). What came to my head however were: Philosopher in Meditation(for the old soul part of you, I would say is a more mature and wiser brother of Urd) For your adventureous, curious, courageous part- some scents which are really fun, unpredictable and unexpected. Schrodinger's Cat? Alice? Lolita layered with Snake Oil? Just my humble purely intuitive suggestions

I need to try this I am a strange combination of traits. I'm wise and ultra-mature yet child-like and silly. I'm often cold(physically, I mean, not emotionally) I'm very tactile, I love touching people when I talk to them. I'm possibly the most genuine and brave person I know. I'm confident yet I'm also very vulnerable. I'm gullible, I tend to believe first and then think. I just don't understand why would anyone say something which is not true in order to be amusing. I struggle with anxiety a lot. People tend to confide in me. I get on well with people older than myself. Dogs love me. I could easily have dinner with the Queen, famous people etc; it wouldn't intimidate me at all. I love meeting new people. I get bored easily. I obsess easily. I feel very strongly about human connection and that we should hug more, talk more, listen more and be real.I hate pretense and fakeness. I don't understand small talk, one night stands, bullying, football, getting drunk... I'm ambitious-I actually believe that I'll do something big in life. I love being with people, but I burn out easily and then need time to recharge, in my own company. I'm passionate about music, beauty(beautiful faces, objects, words) and Nature. I love rolling in the grass, jumping and expressing myself through dancing. I've been in relationships with both men and women. I like odd, eccentric people. I believe in Angels and I believe I'm protected. I'm very perceptive and observant. I'm witty, bright and creative. I'm prone to low moods. I don't have and never had any proper emotional support from my family. I'm easily excitable. I came to the UK on my own, when I was 26. I love Lemon Scented Sticky Bat and O. mostly because they make me feel comforted and cozy.

I'm sorry to say this, but not being a fan of Queen of Sheeba, Shub- Niggurath is another take on the former. Just lots of ginger added.
-
To me it's a less sickly, lighter version of Queen of Sheeba, with some rum and a hint of dark sophistication.
-
It's actually quite pretty, in the way Embalming fluid is. However, it's not for me, but I still find it pleasant.
-
this reminded me of how kids' faces smell after they've eaten a lollipop. then it became more floral. On me it's quite a subtl, faint scent and although reasonably nice, not good enough to keep it
-
Definitely toasted, sugared nuts.Very sickly on me, although there is a comforting feeling to it. Swap pile

I don't know but in some blends I get this 'metalic, biting' note I can't get on with. My suspicion is that it may be Rose, but not sure. Anyhow, Namaste has the metalic edge, too. I's also pretty heavy on lemongrass. I gets a bit better after a few minutes and there is some kind of calmness about it, but so is the urge to wash it off
-
It reminds me of O a lot. Also, I'm not very keen on Snake Oil, but i quite like Womb Furie. Saying that, I think I prefer O

I evokes an image of a clear glass jug filled with crispy, translucent absinthe, where the green fairy lives Mysterious, haunting, alluring, invating, sexy.
-
#44 heavy on incense note(frankincense), slightly sweetened by amber and vanilla. Not my thing, unfortunately, due to the metalic edge
-
This is truly delicious and comforting; foody, but not sickly, very lovely indeed, it stays on my skin for ages and gets better and better!

I believe I've got both, I'll check it for you when I'm back home(now ill at my boyfriend's) I've just checked. Lip Dip is more of a sharp citrusy scent, LSSB is different, mellow, vanilla based lemon;I'd say it starts more like Lip Dip but after a minute it changes into more sweet, mellow scent. Lovely, I like it a lot, but it's not like Lip Dip in my opinion:) -
Pear and a metalic rose on me.

I've been sniffing my hand for a couple of minutes solidly, so it can't be bad. It's not good, either, however. Complex, resiney, I can definitely smell pine, but I wish vetiver wasn't there. Vetiver doesn't agree with me

Quite straightforward, fruity, happy scent, drydown grapefruit on me, weak staying power xx
