Sniff Test Very strong. Sweet and rather bitter, must be the booze smell. Very intruiging. After Application The booziness disappears very quickly on me . It's still there if I concentrate but it's mostly a light fruity smell now. Drydown Very sweet and creamy, almost. Uplifting. I don't think I'm getting pomegranates, more an orange/berry thang. This is very nice indeed. After A While Since the drydown it hasn't changed at all, just faded. When I've finished this review I'm going to top up. (Approx 4 hours since first application.) Verdict After the booze factor faded, (which was too quick IMO), this is like Jester's sweeter sister. It doesn't have the sharpness of Jester (shame) but it's very nice indeed. I definitely will consider buying a bigger bottle if only because it makes me think of certain Captain B.F. Pierce.....

Sniff Test Eurgh! What is that musty smell? I think it's the jasmine, I really don't get along with that, I was hoping it would lurk in the background, dammit. To me it smells mildewed, it's not earthy like patchouli either. Let me try it again - huh, this time I'm getting a lovely sweet smell. After Application Darn, all I'm getting is the musty smell again. I do not want to smell like mould. I'm so tempted to wash this off. Drydown It's been on for just over an hour and although the mustiness is still there, there's a pleasant green smell behind it. This is better. After A While It's been on for about three hours and it reminds me very much of a sweet version of Oberon. Very nice but fading fast. I reapplied after approximately three hours and was relieved not to get The Horrid Smell again. Instead, it just revamped the sweetness. Verdict Apart from the early stages this is lovely. It's not quite as heady or complicated as I was expecting but I like it. I certainly don't smell carnation, patchouli or neroli, all the notes are blended too well to pick up specifics (apart from wet jasmine). I don't think I could buy a big bottle but it's something I might have as an Imp's Ear if I fancy a change. Update I'm wearing this again the first time since I reviewed.... no mustiness this time, just a beeyootiful florally sweetness Body chesmistry is a thang!! I'm so tempted to get a big bottle of this now.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?
Donnababe replied to Nadirah's topic in Recommendations
Blood Rose and Black Rose are my favourites so far and DEFINITE BBPs (Big Bottle Purchases ) for me! -
I'd order from almost anywhere as long as I am confident of getting a good service.

Oh well, better safe than sorry I guess. Thanks for the heads up.

I don't detect neroli here, but sweet juicy berries - particularly strawberries. It's very similar to Wrigley's Juicy Fruit gum. Quite light and very sweet. A cheering scent. I'm not sure whether I'll be getting a big bottle but I'll certainly use my Imp's Ear.

Heck yes! I put a couple of drops on, went to answer the door, (was Mum with my kids) and they said, "Ooooh what's that smell?" As I was opening the door! I loved the smell of this one when I sniffed it from the vial. Wearing it was unfortunately a different story; I was overpowered. WoND is a very aquatic smell to me. I get Ingenue on Viagra To me it's the same melon note but way more potent. When my Mum smelled it on me she got violets (or more specifically the British sweets Parma violets), and that is probably the other reason why I really don't get on with this . Shame.

Yes it certainly does. I do find though that the green is far more prominent on me than the more 'traditional' rose aroma. The floral note does come through eventually but I find it a bit too sweet, and not particularly long lasting, (especially when it's compared to Blood Rose.)

Elizabeth, I'm presuming you are still having email trouble? Do you think it would any difference if you sent the message to my husband's account? Or, I could do another resend via his email addy? It probably won't make an iota of difference but who knows? Hubby isn't comfortable giving out his addy so give us a yell here if you're interested.

When I first put this on I smelled Haunted, then after the immediate dry down, Haunted again with a spicy hint. The rose came through very gradually for me and it's lovely. I do find this very similar to Spellbound so next time I shall contrast and compare to find my preference. Lastability - Pretty good. ETA - OMG, this is fabulous stuff! This is officially now my fave BPAL rose scent. I cannot get enough of this! Elizabeth!

Oberon 8)

I received this one as part of a swap and as it wasn't on my *big* Try list I wasn't expecting much from it. However, it's lovely. Unfortunately, it's also made me realise how utterly useless my nose is, I would be no good as a wine tester (apart from the drinking bit. ) It does give me the slight impression of a man's cologne. My hubby loves the smell, but wouldn't wear it himself. It smells grassy and a little floral yet I'm unable to pick out the individual floral notes. The main impressions Oberon gives me are: Greenish Blue, Sunny, Spring, Breezy, Grassy fields. Mood: Initally playful but 'chills out' as time goes on. Staying Power: Excellent

This one is an ideal pick me up scent for me. A lively scent, not a lazy one. I love it's freshness and the slightly sharp not sweet fruitiness (it's not at all cloying, like I find orange and pear scents to be.) Personally, I wouldn't call the heather rosy, to me it's more of a herb/floral but I like it a lot. It doesn't have great staying power with me but I would consider buying it.
