    Frosted Pumpkin Spice Cookie

I fell in LOVE with this... for about 45 minutes!! In bottle: YUMMY yummy spiced pumpkin!! On skin: This is amazing... it is a perfect pumpkin spice cookie! In fact, it is almost like gingerbread to my nose, but it has a great throw!! Dry Down: ok... so, this stayed the same for about 45 minutes and then disaster!! This is a heart breaker for me, like another pumpkin scent I got, it ended up turning more of a vegetable like pumpkin!! Don't know if there was some new ingredient in this year's pumpkins, but they aren't working on me when they usually ALL work great on me. So so sad!!!

    The Witches

In bottle: Yummy pumpkin cream!! Very delicious!! On Skin: Hmm... get no pumpkin at all! It is heavy on me.... lots of throw, but it is a very smoky vanilla. I also get no honey, which is ok with me. Was nervous about that note because we don't get along. Dry Down: Stays a heavy, smoky vanilla. It is real nice, but was hoping for more pumpkin out of this one.

    Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcake

In the bottle: Hmm....at first sniff, I get a buttery, vegetable-like pumpkin. Hope it doesn't stay that way!! On Skin: Get more of the spice coming out... still a hint of butter....could be the cream cheese, but not as sweet as you would think. Still get a bit of the vegetabl-y pumpkin out of this. Dry Down: It gets a bit spicier...not a burning spice, but a nice baking spice. I don't get "cake" out of this yet, but I do get the spice scent IN a spice cake. Still the hint of buttery, vegetable-like pumpkin, but not as strong on as it was sniffing it. Low throw surprisingly.....stays close, but a nice scent. Wish it was a hair stronger and less buttery, but that is the way of BPAL!

    Candied Apple

In the bottle: Like above, not sure what a candied apple should smell like, but this is a very wet apple scent to start... like sniffing a glass of apple juice! On Skin: Straight up SWEET and sticky apple! Definitely a red apple under the goo, but not sugary sweet. Just sweet! Dry down: Softens a bit but stays the same.... very pure, juicy, sticky covered red apple. Medium throw on me. Not sure if it is for me, but I will wait and see if it changes at all.

    Apple IV

In the bottle: Yep, a crisp apple.... seems to be a green apple to my nose. It is very sharp, but in a FRESH apple way...not cloying that some apple scents have done to me before. On Skin: It immediately warms up and softens, a bit....can detect a hint of the clove....a hint of vanilla. Not getting any blackcurrant as of yet. Dry down: To me, it almost smells like Pure Applesauce, but without that tar or tobacco note. It has a low throw on me and stays close to the skin. Seems to be disappearing pretty fast... might let this one sit a while. It ends up being real soft, barely there kind of apple and warm vanilla. Perfect for those who want an apple scent that isn't strong. It is nice.

    Milk Chocolate Buttercream

Can't really add anything different than what was said! In bottle: very creamy milk chocolate!! Can smell the butter-creaminess of it. Like frosting as someone mentioned. On skin: Stays true....gets a little "dry" smelling, but in a good way. Seems some chocolate notes do that to me. Dry down: Low throw on me, but never changes. Pretty much as it says it is. Creamy buttercream chocolate!! Edit to add that I think this would make a great layering note as well, as it is simple and lovely.

Dragon With a Llama Mohawk Hair Gloss

In decant: I smell resin and a slight touch of the honey. Could be the dragon blood too...that always smells a bit incense-y to me. In hair: WOW!!! This is so gorgeous... it is a very soft amber/resin that I am getting. I don't get honey or anything nutty, which is good. I was nervous about the honey note. After a few: This has low/medium throw and I love this! It is the perfect incense/amber! It isn't heavy and it isn't just gone that some incense blends can do on me. So glad I got a decant of this!!

    Traveling with BPAL

This is just a guess, but I am sure you will be fine. Especially if you are driving. I think crossing the border into the states, they just worry about how much alcohol yo would be bringing or cheap meds. I think the perfume will be fine. BUT that is just me.... Just make sure you have your passports up to date, but thinking it won't be an issue.

    Pure Applesauce

In bottle: Oooh...lovely apple!! And yes, I agree, it is more of a green apple. So crisp and fresh!! On skin: YUM!! I instantly get the mashed honey apple scent. It is great... the honey note worried me since that note always turns to a dust smell. But not here!! This is such a great apple scent... it is so very Autumn! Dry down: Medium throw and it is a nice, spicy dry apple... in a good way! I don't get tar or tobacco out of it, but maybe that keeps it smelling warm and cozy! If you love apple scents or trying to find that ONE apple scent to make you go WOW.... this is it!! So glad I got a bottle!!! Edit for update: Been a little while and I can't stop sniffing my wrist! It dawned on me, this reminds me of Beaver Moon 2012... but without the "gooey" note! Loving this!!!

    Ask The Nearest Hippie

In imp: Yep...definitely a "weed" or strong hemp smell. On skin: Oh wow... this warms up immediately on me... I get the smoky vanilla with the hemp and it is gorgeous! Creamy and sexy too! Dry down: Ok.. I need a bottle of this!! If you like the Revenant Rhythm items, you will love this. It is a perfect balance of the hemp and vanilla. This is coming from a person that despises anything hemp/patchouli smelling, and if I love this, just think how it will be for you patch lovers!!! Mmmmm..... perfect! Medium throw and not overbearing.

    The Candy Butcher (2015)

In the bottle: I can see where some people say "spice" to it. I think that is just the nature of how bittersweet chocolate can smell. I love bittersweet/dark chocolate better than milk chocolate (to eat that is) and this smells just like a good, higher priced chocolate/cocoa to me. On skin: I almost get a peppermint smell to this right away, even though it isn't...but has that something sharp, but just for a second. I get a hint of the cream note and can smell the amazing chocolate in this. Like was said above, this is a sexy kind of chocolate! Dry: It has a medium throw to me and yes, I get a creamy chocolate with something else in the background. I don't know what it is. Maybe a hair of something cologn-y, but it isn't at the same time. It is very amazing and I think this will age nicely! Update: So, after a few hours, I could still smell the cologne-yness about it. Sad because it smelled so good in the bottle and on my skin for a few minutes. Might have to swap away.

    Looking for

Also, the BPAL Halloween scents (or as we lovingly call them, Weenies) will be out sometime soon, so there might be some dirt/leaves scents there as well. Also, check out Black Phoenix Trading Post.....they release Weenie scents too!!!!!
  13. Well, out of the few I got to test, I LOVE Western Diamondback and Boomslang the best!! W.D.. to me, is a beautiful, soft suede scent with a hint of Snake Oil. Very unisex! Boomslang is more of a thick and yummy chocolate scent, and that too, I only get a hint of S.O. I have never gotten any bold S.O. scents out of the snake pits....it's there, but not prominent. I would go to the review section here and read the reviews on the Snake Pits. Might be more helpful.

First Time BPAL-er looking for recs!

It can be overwhelming and some great recs here already. You can also go to the BPAL website and search a note and it will pull up all the scents that have said note in it....that way, you can see which might interest you. Then I would look at reviews on here....they are always very helpful!!

    Pumpkin II (2014)

I got a tiny tester amount in a bottle. What a surprise! I never thought to try this because I am very afraid of patchouli! In the bottle: Yep, cinnamon and clove, but very balanced. They both seem to be evenly matched. One doesn't dominate the other. On skin: Ok, NOW the clove is beating up the cinnamon, but both still there. I think I get a little pumpkin in there, but not much. This is still crazy good! Dry down: As someone mentioned above, this is very sexy....a teeny foody, but not so much. I don't get tobacco and I can get a little hint of moss, but it is so wonderfully blended. Don't be afraid to try this if you are afraid of the patchouli like me. I don't get any, but I think all the notes are perfectly balanced and this is a perfect Halloween scent! A lovely surprise!!!!!

    Philologus

In the bottle - Yep, I also get that cologne-y scent everyone else is smelling, but there is something "dry" about it. On skin - Still has that cologne smell....not much else. Not getting wax, parchment, or incense. Dry down - Hmm, this isn't for me. Was hoping for more of a book/wax kind of scent. But just smells like a man's cologne. So, this would be good for a guy, not me.

    Olisbos

2013 version In bottle - a sharp herbal to my nose. Maybe that is wood? Olive oil? On skin - Stays pretty sharp and kind of "green". Green like vines, not like any plant that could smell aquatic, if that makes sense. Didn't expect it to be this way. Dry down - I also start to get a little bit of leather out of this, but I get more olive oil, and it is soft. But still, not really for me, sadly.

    Go to Sleep, Darlings

Like most others, in the bottle, I do see the comparison to Snow White.... it is lovely and soft, with a hint more mint to my nose. Sadly, when applied, it too, went to plastic on me in about 10 minutes! It smelled so good at first. Oh well... what can ya do?

    The Last Squished Jellybean

So, I got this as a frimp.....hard to tell what it smells like in the imp because another traveling imp leaked and got all over this, but still able to read the label to see it is this scent! On... I get a little cinnamon, but it isn't overpowering. I don't get licorice/anise like others are detecting. Smells just like a handful of stale jelly beans. Like the kind leftover from Easter that no one ate! I like this!! I am a foody fan so this fits to me. Not as sweet as you think it would be either. Very fun!

    Holliday Hair Gloss

Yeah....this is awesome! In the bottle....I get a rich, thick vanilla! I think it is the rum, but I don't get "boozy" out of this. On damp hair: Wow....this goes crazy for a quick second....thought I caught a quick whiff of licorice, but that quickly left (good thing!) but then I get the bourbon and the musk and vanilla ALL at once! Then the amber comes out and it morphs wonderfully! Stays vanilla with a hint of the rum and bourbon.... I don't get honey or gunsmoke, but SO glad I was able to get some of this!

    Laudanum Bonbon

LAUDANUM BONBON Nicely narcotic: bittersweet chocolate with nutmeg, sassafras, black poppy and myrrh. So, I am sure I probably smelled the GC of this, but don't remember if I liked it. But here goes with this one.... In imp: I don't smell any chocolate....just a harsh blast of sassafras and a hint of myrrh. On Skin: Pretty much stays the same. Sadly, I get zero chocolate from this. I think the other notes are just too powerful and drowns it out. Dry down: Gets a bit sharp....maybe that is the poppy?? Not sure, but to me, since I get no choco out of this, it is just the GC bottle scent.

    Chaos Theory VII: Gourmand

Swapped a friend for her gourmand bottle....#77 In the bottle: Yep, I get orange gingerbread smell! Could smell it before even opening it to sniff! Smells great! On skin: Yeah, it morphed on me as well.... I got spiced orange cake, a vanilla cake, then it toned down to a nice, soft spiced cookie! Dry down: Softens and stays to that lovely lightly gingerbread spiced cookie to me. She got maple syrup, but I don't! I am glad, since I had tried Pancake Breakfast and it didn't work for me, but that one smelled more grainy. This one is just right. Low throw, but stays close. Very happy with this one.

    The Crumpet Rebellion

Can't believe I was able to get a bottle of this in a swap!! Been wanting this for a long time and almost gave up! In bottle: I get a berry pastry. Yep, smells like a delicious crumpet. On skin: stays close to the skin, but I get the berry note, but it is berry jam....a little less pastry and more baking spice to it, but they are soft. Dry down: Stays the same and I really love this!! Medium throw to me, and it is foody to me. Anything berry-ish can either work for me or go completely plastic, but glad this one doesn't!! So happy!!!

    Chaos Theory VII: Gourmand

Got my bottle today, and yes...mine is also WAY full! Here goes...also see there are no numbers on these. In the bottle: I really don't know what I am smelling...but it is like a floral (?) even though this is a gourmand bottle. On skin: Ok....now this changes. Good thing, I was so not wanting a floral. Still hard to describe this. It is a bit sugary, bot not overly. It is like a cotton candy popcorn, but plain, no butter. That's the best way I can describe this. Dry down: stays the same but now that odd floral thing is emerging. It isn't strong, and I really have to huff this in order to smell it....but I guess this is a gourmand scent. Very fun, but not sure if it is for me, but will wait and see! Going to update this by saying the bottle number I got from the Lab is #9!

    Loved To Death

Got my bottle today.... Ok, if you are like me and have been wanting to find a beeswax/candle wax scent that works for you and does NOT smell like a cheap candle, go get this, and get it now! Came in a pitch black velvet pouch! In the bottle: I get the beeswax, a little vanilla, and some spice....but not tickle-your-nose kind from a kitchen cupboard. I know it says "cinnamon bark", but it seems softer. On skin: I immediately get the clove.....it is prominent, but not overbearing and strong that clove can be on me. It is surprisingly soft. I detect the vanilla. Dry down: OOOH this gets lovely! It warms up to an almost "cozy" kind of vanilla beeswax and a gentle clove. Reading other reviews, I was afraid of the honey everyone was detecting (I can't do honey!) but I don't get that at all. Light throw but it is, I think, going to age beautifully. It already is a winner as is...... don't hesitate to get this!! Total love!!
